If I were giving stars for the service alone, I’d give it a 5+. The servers/manager, etc. were awesome! I ordered a «Sloppy Dog»(Chicago style) and sadly, I was really disappointed. It wasn’t a Chicago dog at all! Some of the ingredients were missing and the addition of dijonnaise was pretty bad. My lunch partner wasn’t thrilled with his burger, either. It was a bit under done. I so wanted to love this place because I *LOVE* hot dogs, but alas, I did not. BUT, it’s nice, clean and offers great service.

Tried this food truck when it was outside my office one day. I ordered the Brew Brat with sauerkraut. It was good. Nothing to get all excited over, but good. Most of the offerings are State Fair types of food… so not the healthiest.

Cheap lunch place, and probably a really good place to eat when you’re drunk, but nothing in between those two options. They had some great $ 5 combo deals that included fries, a pretty substantial hot dog(with toppings bar) and drink. In all honesty, the cheesy tater tots were probably your every day frozen tater tots so not amazing but not bad. There is an intriguing menu but the actual execution is just ok, the Dog Pile was definitely not as good as advertised. Good for a quick lunch but not sure if I could recommend to someone.

Really mixed reviews on this place. I’ve been several times, usually for a work week lunch so I don’t have a clue what it’s like evenings. I guess I’ve been lucky though because the times I’ve been, I haven’t had to wait terribly long for my food and the employees have seemed reasonably attentive to very attentive. The place has always looked spotless but, as other reviewers have noted, it’s never really busy. I’ve ordered several things here. I love their raspberry chipotle BBQ chicken sandwich as well as the brisket version. I’m also a fan of their tacos and the Chicago Dog was really close to what I get when I’m in Chicago. The only thing I really haven’t enjoyed from the menu was the chips and salsa. The salsa was fine but the chips were pretty tasteless. So for me really no issues with the food quality or temperature but maybe it’s because I’m there week days around lunch time. The inside is really cool. They’re definitely trying to go for a food truck/street food feel and are succeeding I think. I do feel like it’s a little overpriced for what you get by the time it’s all said and done though. I will definitely go back but this probably will never be one of my regular weekly lunch spots.

Have gotten several of the specialty dogs from the menu and all have been good and reasonably priced. You don’t expect gourmet at a place like this. You expect fast, convenient, a creative menu and a fun and casual atmosphere. They got what they were going for spon-on! The food and beer are cheap. The quality is good. It’s creative(specialty hot dogs not a burger). There seems to be healthy options but with all that chili and cheese and brisket running around, I haven’t tried them. I did try the sweet potato tots and won’t get those again. Not bad but been there done that. I’ll go back for the dogs and the unexpectedly cheap and for-real casual spot uptown. Great: Twist on concession stand food with restaurant quality. Saw a sign that says they deliver not just food but beer and cigs. Not so good: They are in uptown and I remain uncertain as to whether they have the demand for such a calorie in-your-face restaurant like The Stand. If not, they are welcome to mosey over to East Dallas. We are not scared of calories nor the curvy ladies who eat them ;-)

Best way to earn one star? Eat your food while cooking my food while I’m watching you cook my food. I came here because I had a ScoutMob deal… this is a great app. If you don’t have it, get it. Most of the time it’s worth it. This meal was $ 9 and I still hated it. Oh, I cannot describe to you how much this place sucks. I guess I’ll tell you how it went. Long story short? I bet it’s great if you’re drunk. IF you are not drunk, do not come here! We parked and saw a few employees smoking out back. They kind of scowled at us, but that’s no big deal. Walked in, and saw the staff sitting around behind the counter. Looked around, and the place was empty… at 7:45pm on a Friday night. And it stayed that way our entire visit. The idea is conceptually great. The décor is awesome. BUT, the food takes a really long time to come out of the kitchen(about a 30 minute wait). We had a pizza and chicken breast thing. The pizza was undercooked and the breast was supposed to be crispy, but was soggy. As mentioned before, the cook was eating his dinner as well behind the line… while he was cooking our dinner… so… that’s health code stuff… don’t get me started there! I really don’t know how this place is still open. It was empty from 7:45−8:30(besides us), but they had like 10 employees who were all sitting around doing nothing… LITERALLY… nothing. On a positive note, the place was really clean! I guess they have a lot of time for that. Anyway, we won’t be back… ever. This place sucks, and if I didn’t have 50% off, I would have returned the food and left.

The Stand is everything that Uptown was missing! A low key, junk food ridden, late night spot that doles out pork and bean brownies, bacon wrapped hot dogs topped with chili cheese and even deep fried pumpkin pie. Yes, you read that correctly. The stand is open until 3 am and even DELIVERS! How lazy can one person r to require delivery but in all reality I would probably do it after a late night out! The food is surprisingly delicious and it’s CHEAP!

This is a solid three stars. It’s not bad, but not mind blowing. Good. I give it a C. Very average. They’ve got your good old American standbys. The prices are also — very reasonable. Burgers, hot dogs, nachos, onion rings, tots. Though, I will say I really enjoyed their crispety sweet somewhat garlicky sweet potato tots. Their felafel, however, is not felafel. It’s more like some bean patty… thing. I was not pleased. Otherwise, pretty much anything else we’ve ever ordered has been good. Not amazing… just good. It’s got a nice patio and a very quirky concept. I imagine the drunkards flock here in the wee hours, but I haven’t rolled in that late or or the weekend. When we go, because it’s not crazy packed, the service is quick and attentive. They ought to be getting more business.

Well let’s start out with the good stuff. The web site is great. …Unfortunately that’s where it ends. I like the concept but the execution is lacking to say the least. There was a mother in front of us with three kids. She ordered for them and then we ordered. This was were things started to go wrong. They only have beer & wine, which is fine, if the person who is taking the order actually listens! Three times I told the cashier/order person I wanted a glass of wine. She rings up my order and I am standing there with my better half and ask her where is my wine. She looks at me and says«Oh.» then looks at a co-worker who is sitting there doing«something» on her phone and asks«Do we have any wine». So long story short they tell me they are out of wine but only have three bottles left. REALLY. Sorry you beer drinkers out there. You probably think I should be drinking a better with my hot dog. Lol. I end of buying a bottle of wine out of the three they have left. Well we wait for our food. The nice lady with the three kids they get their food. Three times she had to to back to the counter to get the kids mac & cheese correct. Finally I suspect out of frustration they finish what they had and left as quickly as possible. We get our order. The hotdogs were cooked correctly. My sloppy dog and just a tiny smig of mustard on it. That was ok as they have mustard and ketchup on the tables. The chili on my onion rings tasted more like bland hamburger meat. There appeared to be no management there to direct any of the clueless employees. My guesstamation on the length of this establishment will be six months before it closes. They could be much more but I doesn’t seem they have the tenacity to follow through.

Found a Unilocal deal for this place while visiting Dallas for the weekend. The Stand is in a great part of town. Where the yuppies and artsy folk walk everywhere and ride their mopeds. We ordered the mac daddy dog, the spicy brat brew, frito pie, and hot wings. Stupid Unilocal coupon. The portions were huge. We took two to go boxes home. Food was very cheap considering the portions you got. The service was quick and friendly. The bathrooms and the restaurant were both spotless. I loved the outdoor seating. Its open until 3AM on friday and saturday. Business should be booming. Maybe on fri and sat nights it is. The only reason why I can think its not too busy is because its very unhealthy food. But it tastes so good. We will return next time we visit Dallas. The Stand exceeded my expectations. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because we had to purchase a $ 4 cup of chili because my frito pie came with a tea spoon full of chili.

If you’re craving for a good burger or hot dog, The Stand is a place for you to check out! They have an awesome mural painted on the side of the building, and the inside décor is super cute. We happened to be dining there while a food tour group came in. It was loud, but we were able to listened in on bits and pieces of what the guide had said. Apparently The Stand started off as one of the first food trucks in TX and eventually they made way to a permanent location. They had a great idea of cutting their food truck in half and incorporating it into their décor. What a great idea! Super cute! The vintage food truck gives a nice throw back to the 50s/60s diner feel. My bf and I had shared the WTF burger and the Mac dog. The WTF burger was topped with an egg, sunny side up.mm.delicious! And the Mac dog was a Nathan’s dog paired with mac and cheese, topped with chili and a giant onion ring! We ordered the nude fries thinking it would be something awesome, but really it was just regular fries with some spices thrown on top(overly spiced and salty if you ask me!) In retrospect, we should’ve tried the tots(from other Unilocalers it sounds liked a hit!) The nice thing is that The Stand is opened until 3AM on weekends. It’s just up the street from a bunch of bars, which makes it super convenient when you have the munchies!

We ordered a lilttle of everything including a strawberry shake and root beer float. Why this is relevant? I’ll tell you… Our food to appeared 10 – 15 minutes after ordering. When we received our food the girl said she would come back with our drinks. Don’t you usually receive your drinks prior to the food? No big deal only… THEREISNOREASONTOHAVETOWAIT30MINUTESFOR A MILKSHAKEANDSOMESCOOPEDICECREAMIN A CUPFOR A ROOTBEERFLOAT We were the only people in the place today at around 3:30 besides the construction workers outside. We waited and waited and half choked through our food. The food was good but we needed to wash it down with something. There were 3 employees behind the counter. What were they up to, you ask? Well it appeared as though they were chilling and talking… wait more talking and so it took about 15 extra minutes after receiving our food to get our beverages. We waited around 30 minutes total to receive our drinks. This should not be acceptable. The girl apologized for the wait and said«I scooped the ice cream myself so it’s real good». It took a damn long time to accompany our meal which was halfway done. We didn’t have any water for backup to stop from choking. I kept telling my husband to go get some water since there was no liquids to flush down the meal but he kept saying it looks like she’s coming with the drinks. She looks like she is scooping some ice cream now. Our visit was consumed with the status of the delivery of our drinks. There should be a team effort to take care of the patrons and then do your talking once the work has been done. I think the cat was out and the mice were playing.

The food here is great and cheap! It’s billed as a smörgåsbord of summertime delights that you’d find at a ball game, food truck, or tailgate party. Stuffed Burgers, bacon-wrapped dogs, a Frito Bag full of pie. I do think you can actually eat healthily here if you want to, which is a plus. I have been to too many«in your face with our fattitude» joints that simply do not offer any actual alternatives(:cough JAKES cough:). If you’re going out with a group of people, it’s nice to have flexibility. Not that I tried to eat healthy. My Standwich had a big plop of melted swiss, and 3 bubbly curled ribbons of bacon. I sometimes think of perfectly fried bacon as if it’s a crunchy fossilized worm, and if so then these three Luolishania longicruris’s were pulled straight out of Glen Rose. They have a unique recipe for their sweet potato tots which made them look sort of like fried okra. There’s beers to be had, and obviously if you’re on McKinney then you’ll be looking for that. I can’t say that I actually like the décor in here, but it’s well done and fits the theme. I have a thing against cotton candy and clowns. There aren’t any clowns, but cotton candy leads to thoughts of facepaint and elephants. One of our party was convinced the stuffed burger is on par with Maple and Motor! How’re you gonna keep ‘em down on the farm, once they’ve seen Karl Hungus?

Loved this place! It feels like you are at the fair… and who doesn’t love that?! It has an amazing patio and different fried pies! We had the pumpkin pie. delish! Also. complimentary salad bar doesn’t hurt :) If it’s your first time. get the spicy brew brat! We bought the Unilocal deal($ 10 for $ 20 of food) without knowing that you have to use it all in one sitting. so we had enough food to feed 2398 people lol — prefect place to share yummies your friends!

I came here with a friend(who is a hotdog connoisseur) we were impressed with the simple menu that had a pretty diverse selection. We got dirty dog It was a pretty standard chili dog Dog pile This was off the chain. Brisket and queso on a hotdog were a delight. Cornydog Also very good. Right amount of honey in the batter Falafel(gotta get 1 healthy thing right!?) Hmmm, not so much. The hummus is very pasty, needs work. Falafel wasn’t too bad but the hummus ruined it. All in all, This is a really good place and it is really affordable. Definitely would come back.

Maybe I would have had a better experience if I ate in the restaurant, but I got takeout during my first visit, and the experience was terrible. I was a little worried when I showed up at 6pm, and the restaurant was completely empty(I was literally the only customer). But, since it’s still pretty new, I didn’t worry too much. I didn’t really start to be feel let down until I got home and realized that they left out part of my order(didn’t forget to charge for it though). When I placed the order, they repeated it back to me and had the full order correct, but when I got home with my food, I realized my daughter’s mac & cheese was missing. I still might have forgiven such a mistake in a new restaurant if the food had been good, but I was let down there too. I got the falafel sandwich, and it was terrible. Pretty much the only thing I could taste was the diced onion that filled every bit of pita that didn’t have falafel. Although I really couldn’t taste the actual falafel over the onion, the texture of it was soft and mushy(NOTETOTHESTAND: do not put tzatziki on a delivery or takeout order; leave it on the side). The sweet potato fries had a decent flavor to them, but they were also completely soggy. If someone twists my arm, I might give the place one more shot to see if they do any better on non-takeout order.

Oh mylanta, I am craving their spicy brew brat right now. This place is mine, all mine(for lunch). Why I love it here: 1) it takes 5 minutes for me to stroll here from where I work; 2) it’s inexpensive; 3) there’s no lunch crowd; 4) the patio; 5) the awesome menu(to name a few-falafel sandwich, frito pie, & fried Twinkie… need I say more?); 6) the complimentary salad bar; and 7) SPICYBREWBRAT– let me tell you: one bite of that beer-brewed-chili-soaked bratwurst will make any tummy happy. The brat is placed in a fresh toasty hoagie, smothered in chili, topped with fried jalapeños, and garnished with a plump ring of fried onion(totally legit).

What’s a better place to sober up in the the midst of Dallas’ nightlife? The Stand, that is! I actually discovered this establishment when an ad was placed on my windshield in some parking lot. I’m kind of glad I discovered this place, but I only say«kind of» because it’s only opening me to guilty pleasures. In here, don’t expect anything, I mean ANYthing health related. The Stand pretty much sells food similar to what you’d get at the state fair. I got the cowless burger with sweet potato tater tots. It was just like what you’d expect. The only problem is that I walked out with a big bulge on my stomach. At least it was filling. Alongside that, I paired it with their frozen margaritas. Yum! As an added tip, don’t forget to check-in. You get a discount! Also, don’t be surprised to see a lot of drunks sitting alongside you when in here.

Absolutely love them. My only complaint ;) is that their portions are so large, I can’t get 2 – 3 items per order because each offering makes a generous meal in itself, pretty much. The staff is ridiculously friendly and always has a stellar attitude. The place is sparkly clean even during high-traffic times. Awesome, awesome drunk food + anytime dining.
