I had their landmark Asian Thai dog and it was the best I’ve ever eaten. True Confession… I watched The Great Outdoors as a kid and haven’t been able to eat hotdogs since, but this place challenged me to change my mind and come to grips with my disdain for«lips and a-holes». It was fantastic!

Excellent hot dog varieties from duck to chicken to regular hot dog. I tried the Mexican dog most recently, which is a bacon wrapped hot dog with a chipotle mayonnaise, pico de gallo and queso fresco in a nice, fluffy bun. Delicious. I also tried the truffle oil Parmesan fries, which were very tasty as well and needed no condiments. I can definitely recommend this truck and I’ll be back whenever it’s close by!

Yikes. I don’t know guys, but having experienced a majority of the active food trucks on the Dallas circuit, I didn’t enjoy my visit to Lucky Ducky Dogs the other day. Star 1: How was the service and atmosphere? I will say here that the service was fine. A friendly staff who are as fast as they are knowledgeable, LDDFWM will have your meat treat out in a jiffy, and they’ll dish it up with a smile on their face. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Hm… Okay yes, I understand that my ‘Gator Eats Pig’ sausage has alligator in it, and that fa sho ain’t cheap, but $ 10.00? I just can’t do it. That probably has something to do with the fact that you can get much cheaper options of comparable size and quality at nearby trucks: Easy Slider: Tutta’s Pizza: The Butcher’s Son: Gandolfo’s: You’ll see that the only double figgy price on that list is Tutta’s Pizza. I didn’t think Tutta’s was priced fairly, and I don’t think Lucky Ducky’s Gator Dog is Either. No Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This is tough. Having grown up in Germany, I’m a huge fan of even contemporary takes on a good quality sausage. For that reason, I really wanted to love the Gator Pork Sausage, but I simply didn’t. First and foremost? The bun. While it looked like a soft fluffy pretzel roll, this was dry as a bone, and fell apart quickly making for a messy experience overall. The egg? Fine, but no real addition to the sausage as a whole. The sriracha was fine, although the wasabi mayo was a bit unusual. The important bit is obviously the sausage in this equation, and while it was rich and meaty without any fillers of note, the flavors didn’t quite pop, and at the end of the day I concluded that the Gator Sausage relied a bit too much on toppings for my liking. Apart from the sausage, the fries were really weak. Limp and lightly topped with chunky bits of garlic and parmesan. Yuck. Totally honest? I wasn’t a fan. Single Star Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? There are better food trucks. No Star Granted.

I wasn’t totally sure if I wanted to try to the bacon and peanut butter dog at first — but figured what the heck. It. Was. Amazing. Seriously have been craving another one ever since I had it a week ago. The owner is super cool and very friendly, which is just an added bonus. Definitely will be visiting this truck again very soon and highly recommend it to others.

I booked Lucky Ducky Dogs for my mom’s 60th birthday party this past weekend. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them! First of all, they arrived to my house EARLY! When you’re about to throw a huge party and you have 1000 things on your mind, knowing that the sole source of food for your guests has arrived early is a huge relief!!! The truck also pulled right up into my driveway. I live in a neighborhood with narrow streets and tons of grumpy elderly people who complain about the narrow streets. The fact that they didn’t take up ANY street space was a huge plus. Most importantly, the food is ah-maz-ing! The high quality meat and fresh toppings elevate the hotdogs from fast-food to upscale gourmet fare.(With fast-food prices!) Everything I tasted was delicous(I’m pretty sure I sampled at least 4 different dogs). And the truffle fries, nom nom nom!!! Not exaggerating, every single person at the party went bananas over how good everything tasted! All in all, I’m 100% satisfied with my experience and would reccomend them to anyone! I believe 2 different people at the party have emailed me already to get their contact info! Marshall Hays(the owner) is extremely reliable and trustworthy.

I am not a hot dog lover but my boyfriend is and he said it was good. The fries are amazing so I would eat there just for those.

oh, you lucky ducky dog gone it youuuuuuuuuu!!! you’re going to make me say what I dont want to say!!! yes, Asians do eat dogs… HOTDOGSTHATIS!!! gross, what were you thinking? lol jk I had their thai dog and the bacon pb and j dog at the Unilocal event. Both were delicious!!! the thai dog is like an Asian kick. The hotdog got full of flavor topped with some cabbage. The other one was a bacon wrapped dog with pb and j. I liked the pb and j dog more between the two and I will find them around town to try their other dogs…

I sampled the wares from Lucky Ducky at the recent Unilocal Elite event at El Sibil. There were only two varieties on offer, but both were very, very good. One was a Thai inspired dog with an Asian carrot, cabbage slaw and a Thai peanut sauce; it had a great Thai flavor and texture, with the slaw proving a great crunch. The other dog was the«PB&B», for«peanut butter and bacon». Proof that anything can be made better with bacon, and may even MORE better with peanut butter. I look forward to catching this truck in a park or something in the near future, so that I can try more offerings. The grub I had on this night, though, was very, very promising.

Have you ever had alligator and pork sausage adorned with a fried egg, siracha, and wasabi sauce?! Or how about sausage with an apple marmalade and spinach sprinkled with salt? If this sounds good to you then you need to find Lucky Ducky Dog and — as their slogan goes — have fun with meat. Lucky Ducky Dogs redefines the meaning of the hot dog. Sure, they serve the boring ol’ hot dog, but this business’s main feature is their duck sausage, which could stand alone as a meal in of itself, but what would be the fun in that?! Cue — the ‘Fun With Meat’ slogan. Every sausage is perfectly complimented by the most creative toppings. You can’t miss the truck, there is a gregarious yellow duck on the side inviting you over to try his meat. Pun intended.

I normally reserve five stars for upscale restaurants, but Lucky Ducky Dogs is a true gem! I wasn’t a big hot dog fan until I ate at this food truck, their creative hot dogs are absolutely scrumptious. So far I have tried the apple sausage dog(with balsamic glazed onions, spinach, and queso fresco), the veggie dog(hand made), and their parmesan truffle fries. YUM and YUM. The meat and toppings are phenomenal, not what you would expect to get from a food truck! The hand made hot dog buns really make it top notch. Can’t wait to go back and try more dogs!

Lucky Ducky’s slogan is «Fun with Meat» but these guys aren’t joking around when it comes to their food. I love a good hot dog but they can be hard to come by around here. At least it was until Lucky Ducky showed up to fill my need… This is hard to write without it sounding dirty. First I had a «Gator Eats Pig» dog and it’s by far the craziest hot-dog I’ve ever eaten. Alligator and pork sausage, bacon, and topped with a fried egg. It’s amazing; you must try it just to say you did. If you’re not adventurous, don’t worry, they have a classic all beef dog. I tried it too and it was incredible in its own right. What really sets Lucky Ducky Dogs apart are their delicious buns, yes yes I said it, but seriously they’re fresh baked daily and incredible tasting. If you’re the kind of person who can’t wait for baseball season just to get a decent hot-dog, you’ve got to track down this truck. It will delight and amaze you. Besides, who doesn’t love a good hot dog?
