We went to The Grill for our anniversary dinner last night, our experience was mixed. I ordered a NY Steak which I thought was very good(but short of excellent), but my wife didn’t care for it, and she also didn’t like the sauce on her Dover Sole. My lobster tail had no flavor whatsoever, possibly the worst one I’ve ever had. We both agreed that the onion rings were exceptional, but her baked potato tasted reheated, and she sent it back. Our waiter was attentive, but his service was spotty. We asked for ketchup for the onion rings, which never came. Much worse, we ordered champagne, and that never came either. They realized their omission just before we left, and comped us a couple of glasses of champagne, which was a nice gesture, but we were preparing to leave by then, so the free champagne felt a little rushed. For their prices, I expected better. And with a few really fine steakhouses up the street, I don’t know how they’ll be able to survive in that location. [Also: I just read another review that mentions the great bread they serve with the meal, and I concur, it was outstanding.]

My girlfriend and I were visiting from out of town for dinner in Dallas when we stumbled across this little gem we call the Grill on the Alley. David and Darcy were our servers. They were friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They mapped out our entire dinner from drinks to dessert. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to stop by and ask for either David or Darcy. You’re sure to have a wonderful meal as well as experience. A+++

Dinner was fantastic… Shared the rib eye with my man and it was one of the best steaks either of us have ever had. Also enjoyed the shoestring potatoes, grilled asparagus, and sautéed mushrooms. All of it was heavenly. Our waitress was the cherry on top of the dining experience… Ms. Darcy was kind, personable, and knew how to be attentive while giving us time to ourselves to enjoy our date. Would eat there every night I’m in town if my bank account could handle it. That being said, be ready to see $ 35 – 65 entrees, and the place is a la carte with each side running $ 10 – 15. I like to cook and thus rarely eat out but when I do I want a meal like I had last night… Satisfying and difficult if not impossible to duplicate at home. One last thing, don’t skip the complimentary bread… It’s wonderful.

I splurged a little and tried out a number of items. It’s a nice place and they had some decent food. I highly recommend the lobster bisque and the crab cakes. I also sampled some calamari which was prepared well. Finally, as a main course, I had the pan seared salmon, just so that the calorie count wouldn’t go through the roof! It was prepared well also. Hmm, I might have also had Ahi Tuna sashimi which was also quite good. They have great service here and I love the restaurant décor. It’s very classic and classy. And the waiters here are dressed to make it feel like fine dining. The prices are a little high but the wait staff and décor make it feel like you’re at a much more expensive restaurant. So, all in all, it was a great meal.

Host seated us without a drink menu or Valentine Day menu. Nice ambience but mostly empty. Took almost 10 minutes to get a server to come by. No mention of specials, just an excuse that they just had a shift change, which I could understand had it been packed but there were 5 occupied tables. Anyway, the waiter forgot my drink, brought out an over baked spinach/artichoke dip that lacked any cream cheese. It has basically just spinach and artichoke strips under cheese with stale bread chips. By this time, I’d had enough and wanted to just pay out and leave. The GM comped our entire meal(we ordered a burger that might as well have been from Chili’s and the same fries you’d find in a hospital cafeteria) and apologized. It’s overpriced and definitely not worth the hassle involved with going to the Galleria.

Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! I came here with co-workers for an orientation lunch. It’s casual chic. you don’t need to get all gussied up to dine yet it’s so fancy and proper. We lucked up on a private dining area that can comfortably seat 8. The lunch menu has soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and classics like chicken pot pie, which is huge. The golden puffed crust deflates when you dig in but it’s still a lot. I got one of the specials of the day, stuffed trout with steamed spinach(creamed & sautéed were options too). Simply delicious! The trout was stuffed with crab and it was plenty. All I kept hearing was how great the food is so I will surely go back as a treat to myself.

We don’t have any complaints about this place. Everything were amazing. I’ve came here for years even though the price is quite hight but it was worth every single $$$. We always order calamari, ahi tuna sashimi, stakes, & lobster bisque. The atmosphere of this place is amazing. Love coming here with hubby.

We came here for the happy hour after a brief Black Friday shopping. Our server and host were wonderful. We ordered off the happy hour price: 2 Fried Calamari, 2 Ol’ Fashioned Whiskey, a White Sangria and a Sparkling Champagne. The Fried Calamari was fried to its best; juicy and crispy. The White Sangria was a lot like a mojito, a strawberry mojito to be exact. It was unexpected but alright. The other drinks were self explanatory. We also ordered a dozen oysters that were $ 1.75 on their happy hour price. Fresh and juicy as well. Overall experience was great.

This is a great restaurant at a convenient location. The wait staff including the host is very polite and the service is great. The food too is great and the portions are matched in quality as is the quantity. I ordered a drink from the Happy Hour menu. I don’t recall what exactly. I also ordered their Double Cut Australian Lamb Chops with roasted garlic mint sauce for $ 43.75. I finished off with the Chef’s signature dessert Chocolate Banana Cream Pie for I believe $ 9. Everything was great as was the ambience. My only small complaint was I did originally have to wait a little bit for service and the host was then attentive. The host was great and very helpful. After that things were great. And the drink I ordered was a bit on the strong side. So they definitely don’t skimp on the alcohol.

2 lousy meals in a row… its an easy choice if you’re in the neighborhood, but the prices do not justify the food. My mother ordered pasta, mushy watery and the tomatoes out of the can were barely crushed. My tuna was fine. I’ve had a number of dishes here and there’s absolutely nothing special or well thought out. Too bad. Service is uneven. Why is a glass of grocery store wine 18.00? and a short pour? Really? I don’t mind the 18 even though it should be 14 but don’t skimp on the pour. I can’t even understand why it’s under the same umbrella as Grill on the Alley in Bev Hills. This one has nothing to do with that one.

Steak had zero flavor claimed to be prime but I have my doubts. Might of been worst filet I have ever had. Scallops were bland and gritty. The only thing that had any flavor was the spinach. The service was slow. Would rather grab a turd off the ground than eat here again.

Being from out of state and from LA via NY I am a food porn dude all around. I have to say… having dinner here and sampling all the varieties has led me to grive this fine establishment with a 4! I would most def recommend if you are staying at any of the hotels around the Galleria as it is walking distance and has a great upscale restaurant feel. The white sangria… they make there… on the spot. Normally you would see it premade to soak in the fruits etc however the bartender has a great receipe to make it as you order!

I went to The Grill today for the first time for lunch. It was a bit pricier than I expected but the service was fantastic and the food was of great quality. I would go back to try out their dinner. I’m even more interested in exploring their drink menu which looked well put together as well as their dessert menu which appeared sinfully delicious.

If I could have given a 3.5 I would. I have dined here about 6 times over the last two year. Every time I walk away with a slightly different experience so, it’s not consistent dining experience. The décor and ambiance is nice. The waitstaff is nice but as I have read on other reviews, not exactly as nice as you would expect considering the price point. All of the food I have eaten: pork chop, filet, cheeseburger, caesar salad is good but nothing you would crave a few weeks later. I had a business lunch here yesterday and I regretted choosing the location almost immediately. The food was okay but the chicken on my caesar was so dry the outside split open. But the flavor was good. The inconsistency of the waitress was what made it the most awkward. She would vanish and we had to hustle refills off other staff. We had to request the wine list from her twice. When she did appear she would linger. She delivered the check and stood their while my co-diner signed the bill. That was awkward, again, not the level of service you may be expecting.

There’s nothing wrong with this steakhouse at all. It’s just basic. Basic food, basic steaks, basic sides. You can’t go wrong but there’s nothing special about it. It could be Capitol Grille, McCormick & Schmidts, etc. I had chicken piccata which was quite good. The lobster mashed potatoes were a bit runny, but my husband really liked them. He had a blackened ribeye that was flavorful with jerk flavoring. Niiiiice. The lemonade is quite good and the wedge salad was good. Again, average, but good. Very dependable meal. A bit pricey for basic, but so are all the upscale steakhouse chains.

I always like the atmosphere at any of their branches. Great music and decoration. I went for their happy hour and both food and drinks were great. I had the lobster bisque(a must), New York Steak and skewers from the bar menu… I love their happy hour, margaritas are amazing!

I use to frequent this location a lot for HH before relocating to DC. The drinks are served to perfection with and the bartenders are attentive. HH always include top shelf liquor. Whenever, I order food, I pick the seafood trio. Which includes shrimp, mini Crab cakes and scallops. They have late night HH on thursdays until 9pm.
