Welp, it’s one of the better clubs out there. Decent music, good looking folks, and no cover. All a plus. The thing is, even though I love to get down just as much as the next person, I’ve simply outgrown(figuratively of course) the club scene. So what else can I say about this dimly lit, super loud, busy establishment in the heart of Uptown? Well if you haven’t heard about the burlesque show, too bad for you. It’s pretty dope and worth experiencing at least once. Everyone gathers around in awe, drinks in hand while a solo performer strips down and twirls around the stage. The catch is that performances last only for about a song or two. So after that, you’re back to bumping booties and getting your $ 7 drink spilled as you make your way through the packed crowd. Parking can be difficult, so be prepared to cough up the cash for valet. Decent experience overall, though it wouldn’t be among my first picks for a night out.

Well I must have left to go to the bathroom literally right before the burlesque ‘show’ began, and returned to the main bar area right after it ended, approximately 2 minutes later. The show is obviously too short! I missed the entire thing, so my evaluation of Teddy’s room is marred by that. The lounge/bar itself is reasonably comfortable, with a good amount of standing around space near a long bar. Enter, walk up some stairs, and you’re in! When I was there around 11pm on a Saturday night there was no line, and no cover, and we had no trouble getting in. Once inside, drinks are $ 10 each, which I find to be insane. Stephen Pyles’ restaurants even have $ 9 drinks. Sorry Teddy, you’re not fabulous enough for a well drink to be that expensive. I did have three, and they were strong enough that I didn’t punch anyone out in anger over the prices. The bartenders were attentive, not discriminatory based on attire, and efficient. There was a DJ playing dancy music, and there were a good number of places for us non-table service folks(pretty much everyone in the bar) to set our beverages while dancing around. Wish I’d have seen the show because I don’t think I“ll be going back — not because it was a bad experience, Teddy’s room is just not my thing.

We had a great time there with a party of 7. Was a slow saturday night so we were able to get a table without bottle service, dance with each other and others, people watch, and have a great time. Crowd was light and mixed with young to mddle age and slightly upscale. Wife had fun dancing with me and others including what was presumably two gay guys who enjoyed dancing with each other and sandwich dancing with her. Big fun! Not cheap but unique and the burlesque dancer was fun to watch also.

The crowd was wack Drinks are over priced Burlesque show was sexy but she came out once in the 3 hours we were there! I was anticipating a different experience. Typical club jams/techno. I was hoping for something totally different, tassels, smoke machines, and dancers! Something that would make me want to smoke an extra long cigarillo and puff smoke ‘O’s…I guess not. We came in a huge group. Came drunk. Left more drunk. Probably wouldn’t go back. PS. Tip for the ladies: take off your shoes after a LONG night of partying when going down the stairs on your way out… It’s not cute to eat the stairs!

I really like the idea of having an old schoolish speak-easy style burlesque club in Uptown. But I didn’t know that was what this place was supposed to be until I read it on the website… the day after I was here The burlesque was amazing of course. But I was here on a Saturday from about 10:30 — 2:00 and only saw two performances. The show was one amazing dancer performing to a trio of musicians. Besides this, it seemed like any other club to me. The DJ spun pretty normal stuff. But he got too into mixing for my likes and turned me off of dancing to his beats when he started changing the tune every 5 seconds. Though, Teddy’s seems to be one of the places that the pretty Dallasites go, there is a dress code to get in. All in all, I had a good time though. If your looking for a niceish club in the area, check it out. The burlesque is definitely an added benefit.

I think overall this is a good dance place with a decent crowd. It isn’t too upscale and not a ho down. The burlesque show is worth seeing. It’s about a 10 minute show they do a couple times a night with a live band. It is very eye catching and enjoyable.(I wish more places offered such a great show) The staff is friendly and prompt. Bottle service is about $ 325. Their VIP area doesn’t allow you to see as much as some places and you don’t have a waitress standing there to pour the entire time. I would say that was the only downside.

I don’t really remember much, I was in the bathroom at the primebar chugging a bottle of tequila 1800 anejo. A table invited me to Teddy’s and I was like«Really» can I even get in I am so «Suburbia» They said yes you are fine you have a louie bag. So we walk to Teddy’s and I skipped the line.(must of been my tequila breath) I only remember leaning on some chick to keep me from stumbling on the ground. I think Dallas Locals were convinced I was tara ried…“No I am just Mary from the burbs” I remember a few guys trying to bump and grind. I guess standards are low being that I was drunk and sloppy and out of shape. I dropped my beer on the dance floor and eff’ed up my new shoes. I am getting use to the shoe thing, at least I did not lose one like all the other times. I remember a burlesque show and a donkey! Oh wait the Donkey show was in Mexico– wrong night! I would like to go back a little more sober!

What you need to know. Teddy’s will have you wait outside for a 1 to 10 mins. I understand you must have people waiting in line outside to give whatever appearance. Anyways, tip good, know the names and you’ll be rocking it out. The valet guys are awesome and very courteous. Inside you’ll go up the stairs and hit the dance floor. Its rather small for dancing, but I wouldn’t categorize this place as a dance club. It just holds its own, with club music, and suddenly stops for your burlesque show. Its rare Hip/Hop is played, club, house, and some dupstep mixed in. If this place isn’t letting anyone in, good for them. There is no cover, but a dress code to enforce. Fellow patrons inside always dress to kill, plenty of women around. I love the small elevator hidden around the wall to the smoking patio, it’s our secret passage way. The drinks are pricey, so pre-game it before you come. I’d say 8 – 12 dollars per drink depending. The times I’v hit this place up, I’v seen Mark Napoli inside, Owen Wilson, and some cast from the DALLAS show coming up this summer. I’m proud each time of the patrons. There isn’t anyone asking for pictures, or harassing them. They’re just letting them enjoy the night. Stay classy Dallas.

Not a fan. at. all. The people that choose to go here are apparently inherently obnoxious. Fights(some dumb girl actually tried to run over a guy she felt offended her with her Lexus SUV in the parking lot), sloppy drunk people falling on you, d*bags touching you in a way inappropriate even for a club… all in one place if you’re into that kind of thing. Its only saving grace, the reason it got two stars instead of one, is the burlesque show they put on.

Went here for a bacherlorette party and it was terrible. We got there around 11 or so and the bouncers let us girls right in even though we weren’t on «the list.» The bouncers being nice is probably the only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of one. Once we got inside it’s a very small space where they jammed people in and I am talking they let ANYONE in… scary crowd… people that weren’t even dressed properly for this so-called«Trendy» bar. The drinks were $ 10 a piece at least and then they have dancers dancing on the bar. The whole thing is just a diaster in my eyes. I will not return to this place. I don’t like douche-bag bars like the ones on Main(Plush, Cameo, etc), but if you love them, then you might like this place. I will stick with Sunset Lounge for my place to dance and hang out with a normal crowd!

Is there a possible way to rate a place with no stars? After speaking with the police apparently since I was in the club and however the system/law works, justice will not be served. Happy about that teddy’s owner? I bet you are if your reading this. I received a text message from the club saying you called can we help you? After stating what happen via text, i didn’t get a response. Over all I hope as a community we can bring down teddy’s place by not attending, but who knows. Teddy’s Club likes to hire men who love empowerment because apparently they have to make up for smaller things. An apology would be nice.

It was my bday and I wanted to go out dancing with my friends so I called Teddy’s regarding dress code, cover, dancefloor, etc. The guy on the phone was really nice to me and answered all my questions… Getting there however was a different story. 2 of my gfs were already inside since they got there before us. Once we arrived however the bouncer told us we couldnt get in because we were not on the guestlist and if we wanted to get in we had to buy a table, which didnt make sense since my gfs were already inside and they didnt even ask them that and its not like we were there late we were there before 11. Of course the people behind us, the non asians, were able to get in w/o any problems. I didnt want to make a big deal since i wanted everyone to have fun, so we decided to not say anything to them. So I text my friends(who are asian) that were already inside that we were going to walk down the street to go to Manhattens, since they wouldnt let us in. They came out and as soon as they came out one of my gf’s heard them say«there goes two more» She turned around with a confused look, but didnt think anything of it until i told her what happend. So we started walking and then the valet guys that were right outside ran up to us and said that they closed at 1:30 and we had to get our car if we were leaving. Really??? Ive never heard of a valet close at 1:30 especially outside a bar. That’s BS! We still left it there because we had already paid them. We went to Manhattens and after the club, which was after 1:30, we were still able to get our car. So they were lying to us. Ive never met so many racist people in my life. Im really sad that there are still people like this, I mean come on, its 2011. So of course i can’t really review this place since they wouldnt let us in, but if you guys want to have a great time, go to Manhatten Lounge down the street lol! *****UPDATE******* SEPTEMBER15, 2012 I went there to try again just to see because maybe it was just a bad night when we went and i was actually able to get in lol! They might have fired the bouncers or what but we never saw them this past weekend. They do burlesque every hour, which i thought was different. It was small and not much room to move around there. No cover. The place was ok. I still give it a one star just because lol!

Although I’ve been hanging around uptown on McKinney for quite some time, I completely bypassed Teddy’s Room. This is one of those places where you have to wait a long line for as long as an hour or more unless you know someone who works there or that you have to be on the list and all that jazz. Tburlesque show was playful, sensual, but tasteful ;) and I feel that the ambiance kind of relates to that but it was a little too dark for me because I sometimes don’t know where I’m going or who I’m taking to, lol. Awesome DJ’s, but way overpriced drinks. It’s a cool place to go clubbing and to watch a burlesque show.

Ha, good one Adrian. Calvin Coolidge. Who is that, he was a president? Exactly! The type of president that doesn’t do shit for America but is really good at wasting time with promiscuous women. It is strange that they would use Theodore Roosevelt as an inspiration in naming this provocative establishment. Regardless, it does provide a cool design concept. Known for his hunting habit the walls are adorned with kitschy, fake taxidermy wooden animal heads on the wall to maybe honor good ol’ Teddy R. But still, I am not sure of the connection of hunting to burlesque? If someone knows please let me know. As far as the actual scene goes it is your typical CLUB. Loud music, people bumping into you left and right, very dark and crowded. Not always my cup of tea. But it would can be fun to catch a burlesque show while you can stand and get your groove on. My drinks were purchased for me, so can’t exactly speak on their prices. Based on the clientele I am going to guess the drinks are on the pricier side. For all you men out there I did notice, however, that they are served by some very scantily clad dressed ladies. I am sure I will find my way back their someday and give you an update on their prices.

I was here over the weekend and I had a horrible experience waiting in line… we waited for ANHOURANDITWASCOLD!!! it was my first time here but my friends have been here before so they suggested we all go and have the best time of our lives. We almost left but I was really determine to see what they were talking about. We got to the front of the line in like 20 minutes but stayed there for the next 40 because some girl«virginia» bought a table and told 50 of her friends to use her name to skip the line. FYI: you can skip the line if you buy bottle service!!! This place is a magnet to cougars and blondes with fake boobs… excuses me but I would rather spend thousands of dollars on education than on two fake fun bags!!! RAWR!!! they are very picky about who they let in btw… If you are a skinny blonde with huge boobs then you have no problems getting in… So we finally got in and made it just in time for the«burlesque» show… That took 15 minutes out of my life because the band was playing jazz and I couldnt dance to that! so I was forced to stand around and stare at that really talented girl that did the split in the air during the«burlesque» show… hahahah anyway, despite all that I had fun but ONLY because I was with my friends and got a little bit chocolate wasted. I dont know if I would come back here but if I do… I’m letting my girls play peek a boo so that I could skip the line! lol

Very hip scene. The drinks are on the pricey side, but the entertainment is unique. There’s a burlesque show with a live band that was actually a good enough jazz-themed cover of rock/pop songs. There’s a smoker’s area outside, which is nice. The place can get seriously packed though… which means getting drinks is TOUGH.

I went here for a private party with open bar sponsored by absolut. What’s not to like? It was packed with young pretty people that weren’t obnoxious and there was a violinist jamming out with a DJ. It’s a decent space with maybe not too many places to sit considering it feels like a lounge. I wonder what this place is like on the weekends. Pretty girls and A– hole boyfriends could pretend like they were on an episode of the Hills. $ 7 valet.

Eh, I’m not really sure what to make of this place just quite yet. Visited one Friday night after dinner since I’ve heard so much about it. I guess the theme is supposed to be American? Theodore Roosevelt’s home? I’m not sure but the door guy definitely grilled us on our American president history before we got in. It’s a nice open area. I wasn’t much of a fan of the music. Was it leaning on the side of techno? I think I spied glow sticks. I don’t know… I may have had one too many drinks. The bar itself wasn’t too crowded. Drinks were decent. The burlesque show was fun and the performer was so talented. All in all, I wouldn’t be opposed to coming here again. It’s just something I would suggest if someone asked me where to go.
