We had a fun lunch with great service(Carlos was our server). A friend and I enjoyed the bologna sandwich and grilled cheese with Bacon and avocado. My husband and I also enjoyed a great dinner here last month. Food is good and service is thoughtful. I will be back.

Came here for brunch. Menu was a tad limited, but I ordered the cornfried pancakes, they were a little dense, but good flavor if your looking for something a little different than the traditional pancake breakfast. My friend had the shrimp and grits, I tasted her dish and the grits were very creamy, not like were typical grits. Nothing on the cocktail menu overwhelmed us. I ordered the Wildcard, it was ok, nothing spectacular. Parking is located behind the restaurant, but lot was full, had to circle the lot a few. Overall the experience was good, service was quick and the décor nice. I may come back to check out the chicken/waffles or maybe dinner.

I’ll go again. Hipster heaven. Paper straws — nice. $ 80 lunch, but we enjoyed it, I had the grilled bologna sandwich and it was epic. Have some fun and get some Remedy! My wife had the crab and was tres happy. She probably would have gone 5 stars, but I only do that under rare conditions, M&M

We came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and was unable to find a reservation before 1pm online. I called and they also said they were full but that the bar was open seating. So we got there right when it opened at 11am and they had a table for us. they did warn us that we would have to be done by 12:30pm, which we knew would be no problem. We got a bunch of stuff, including the deviled eggs on crustini with ham, which was my favorite dish. The blend of flavors was spectacular. Also, the jalapeño chive hush puppies were decent, not enough jalapeño flavor in my opinion. I had the turkey pastrami sandwich, which came with fries and was very tasted. It was decent sized and the bread was amazing! The service was great and the décor made you feel like you were back east somewhere. Would love to come here for dinner sometime!

One of the few places open for lunch on lower Greenville Beautiful old school décor(probably my favorite part of the visit) They also Serve brunch food during the week for you egg-lovers(not me– so my choices were somewhat limited) The jalapeño hush puppies were good but significantly smaller than the ones I had seen posted before my visit and a little too salty so a bit disappointed in those Ordered the gin lemonade on the cocktail menu. Good but a bit too sweet for me. My entrée was the fried bologna sandwich — it was very good and the fries were crispy My friend got the open faced salmon sandwich with fries– Also good Service was great and they were busy with a business person lunch rush(surprising to me considering the location) I will definitely return to try them for dinner next time and update my review. I want to see the ambience at night with the beautiful chandeliers and retro archway mirrors

I really enjoyed my brunch here. Coffee was great, and it was always refilled promptly. Hot Chicken + Waffles: spicy breaded chicken thighs on buttermilk waffles with Vermont maple syrup. The chicken was slightly spicy and juicy. The pickled blueberries on top were a great finish. Shaved Brussels + Dried Cranberry Salad: the citrus-sherry vinaigrette was amazingly fresh and delicious! There were roasted spaghetti squash, kale and blue cheese crumbles. Cheddar Grits(side): We got this add-on since I don’t have much experience with Southern food, but this side dish was fine, but not a stand-out compared to the entrees. I hate to admit it, but I enjoyed my salad more than the fried chicken. Both were great dishes! Service was friendly, and they split both dishes for us automatically when we told them we would be sharing them. Atmosphere and décor are great.

Well, I was super-impressed. Not only did that have Cuvee de Jacobin’s Rouge — the greatest beer ever made in the history of greatest beers ever made — but they cook a properly rare steak when asked. I’ll say that the Russian appetizer was tasty(and I’m Russian so I can judge, dammit), but the portion was VERY small for $ 18. Hint, Remedy, when you serve small portions of brightly colored food, don’t put them on the corner of a giant, white plate. Just makes it feel empty. The steak was perfectly cooked to my order, with a subtle seasoning of cracked sea salt and pepper. It was served with some kind of horseradish sauce that was good, but it would have been a waste of good steak to cover it with sauce. My buddy and I split the steak, which was 22 oz, and both of us were full when we left. Service was excellent, and seating was reasonably quick for a Saturday night with no reservations(about 20 minutes). I dug the décor — very 80’s chic with a nice patina of grit. My only real complaint was the noise — because of the high ceilings, everything echoes badly, and there’s no soft material to absorb the noise at all. Makes it *very* loud.

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding. We’ve got a winner folks. Hauled my ass down because of the article know D magazine. I didn’t love HGsply but I figured I’d try this out. The place is beautiful. Everything about it screams modern sophistication. We were seated in a cute booth and were promptly waited on. The food: Everything we ate was delicious. The pimento cheese and tomato soup, the hush puppies and the Russians are coming. This last appetizer was not what I was expecting but that’s what made it great. For the meal we all shared the burger, the hot duck, the beef and gnocchi and the risotto. The risotto was our least favorite but it still was good. The hot duck was the unanimous favorite. Dessert: We all shared two sundaes and two pies(yes, this is how we roll). The chocolate peanut butter pie was off the charts good. And the favorite sundae was the dark chocolate with caramel, sea salt and chips. Holy moly. The service: Other restaurants can take a lesson from this place. They were quick and efficient. There were no dirty dishes or glasses left on the table, they filled up our wine and water consistently and our food came out promptly. Hallelujah. The wine was good, however, our bottles of red wine were slightly warm. For this I was going to give 4 stars, but after eating dessert, it bumped back to a 5, even though there is only one bathroom each. Solid. Place.

Yet again another lower Greenville review because I’m a Yuppie. Yes, I fully embrace what me and my people are and I am basking it in. Right around 7PM is when all of lower Greenville becomes alive and popping. If you’re an old grandma like me and some of my friends, we decide to go to dinner at 5:15 — 5:30PM. Yes, we eat quite early. If you’re going anywhere on lower Greenville before 7PM, you’re not going to need a reservation anywhere. We were seated immediately and noticed that Remedy had changed their menu yet again. Why they’re spending their budget on menu redesign is beyond me but to each their own. Service was prompt and courteous per usual. This time around, there wasn’t a manager(or so I think he was) walking around asking how everything was — I assume he pops by during busy hours. I ordered my go-tos: the macaroni and cheese and the tomato soup. I’m a creature of habit and I LOVE the crumbs they sprinkle on and bake on the macaroni. For $ 8, this is quite a generous portion — great for sharing and great for holding hostage as your own. My friend ordered the burger and fries. Apparently the fries here are awesome but since I already had a heaping plate of food, I was unable to indulge in one. Remedy has amazing holiday décor and I’ve never had a bad experience here. I have yet to try their brunch menu and really want to be a basic Dallas b*tch for a day with a mimosa on my hand. It’s a rite of passage if you live here — mimosa and all.

Okay, I know it seems like I love just about everywhere I go, but that’s just because I really do! Remedy is no exception. My expectations were already pretty high, due to the good reviews on this place, and they were met splendidly! My boyfriend(Doug, you may see him floating around Unilocal just like me) and I decided to do a Sunday brunch here over the holiday weekend, and we’re happy we did(I’ll post both of our experiences here) Food 10⁄10 Chicken and Waffles 10⁄10: I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and Holy crap, I can see why this is called the best Chicken and Waffles in Texas! The chicken is elegantly spiced, and pairs so well with the savory waffle(usually, waffles are too sweet when I have chicken) and the sweet syrup. The sharp spiciness when you bite into is perfect and the muddled berries taste AMAZING they’re such a great, refreshing break into the heaviness that is the BEST chicken and waffles. Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup: 10⁄10 my boyfriend ordered this because cheese is his favorite thing in the world and he can’t pass up an «artisan» grilled cheese! I got a chance to steal a bit off his plate and it was really good! There are a few different kinds of cheeses(from super salty, to even a little sweet) and the balance each other out really well. The sourdough was well baked(where is that sourced, I want some!) and the soup… the soup is what I imagine the kids in those Campbells commercials are REALLY eating, because dayyyyuuummmm. So rich and delicious and perfect on a cold day. Décor: 11⁄10 Just look at the pictures, it was so cute over Christmas! Customer Service: 9⁄10 Promptly sat, promptly fed, promptly refilled, our waiter was a super blunt dude with not many smiles but he was so good at his job I didn’t care. I actually thought his stern attitude reminded me a little of Ron Swanson. He was a cool dude. 10⁄10 would chicken and waffle again!

Love the atmosphere in Remedy. The drinks are fun and the fried bologna sandwich is salty and delicious. Their ice cream sundaes are so good and you must have one, even if you’re full.

B-O-L-O-G-N-A. Yeah… that’s what I got. So, my Mamaw used to make me fried boloney sammiches when I was little. My family is from the mountains of Arkansas and that’s how we say it. We also call Vienna Sausages«vi-eenies» so whatever. And I’ve had fried bologna at other locations such as Maple & Motor. Most places do a thick cut. Remedy is hands down the best bologna sandwich I’ve ever had because they A) make the bologna on-site and B) thin slice it before frying. And sweet Jesus it is amazing. They add cheese and a spiced up spread akin to Miracle Whip with less tang and more zip. I also tried the duck – amazing. It was crisp around the edges and spicy. The slaw underneath was tangy and cooled the spice of the duck. And for an appetizer we had the hush puppies. When did hush puppies get cool again? Everything was great. Even the drinks. The place was packed so we sat at the bar. I didn’t get the bartender’s name but he was super nice and gave us excellent food recommendations. This is my new go to place on LG, because they have a great take on the Southern favorites.

Snapshot: Service 4/5, Food & Menu 2.7÷5, 2.3÷5 Price &4.4÷5 Atmosphere. Remedy is decorated perfectly for the holidays. The restaurant provides an intimate but relaxing environment. The service is outstanding and worth going back. The menu offers a lot of comfort yet traditional dishes. We went for brunch and my friends enjoyed the biscuits and gravy as well as the bologna sandwich. Though, my cheeseburger was uninspiring. I asked for medium well and at best it might have been medium. Being $ 14 I expected more and would say pass on the burger as I hear the chicken and waffles are excellent. Parking can be a challenge since its on Greenville. TIP: go for a drink and enjoy the décor.

The manager emailed me after the last review and invited me back. Randi was very professional and polite and was very welcoming. Remedy’s food is definitely new age American comfort food. We had the hush puppies, the risotto and my bf had the Nashville duck and for desert we ordered the coconut pie. The hushpuppies were nice and hot and served with a pimento cheese spread. I loved it! The spread was nice and creamy but had a little kick to it. The risotto was unexpected. it might have been the coloring but it seemed like it was brown rice. Other than that it was good but I think it can be a tad more creamy. It came with mushrooms and sweet potatoes mixed in and I really enjoyed the vegetables. The vegetables were seared and served perfectly. We ended with a slice of coconut pie(bf’s choice), personally I’m not a huge coconut fan bc i usually find them to sweet to my taste but Remedy’s wasnt overly sweet and the meringue helped! I was impressed by my visit to remedy this time and it definitely lives up to the hype. I was also very impressed with the management, they were very gracious. Overall there are a few small changes I would make, but the food was excellent and I will be coming back!

My friends and I stopped here for dessert only. We were given the menu verbally by the greeter. We were seated very quickly and our orders were taken very quickly. I always love that. The ambience is super cute with nice, dainty tufted seating. :) I ordered the flourless chocolate cake with almond milk ice cream. Okay, it was good, but just a tad too bitter for me and I’m a fan of dark chocolate. Also, I think I prefer cake with flour ! LOL! It’s a great alternative for watching calories though . The ambience was nice and chill, not too crowded this night. Great service! I will to check out the rest of the menu :)

I have been here a few times now. So far I’ve tried the pork chop(my favorite!!!) and the Cobb salad. Went with a friend and split the two, they brought them out separated for us, which was perfect! The cocktails are on point and the bartenders are very knowledgable and friendly! For dessert I suggest the karalu sundae, it’s AMAZING. Glad this place apart of lower Greenville now! P. S. The ambiance and interior is amazing.

Remedy is a trendy little place with lots of flare. It is a nice modern take on the old school soda fountain and restaurant. Perfect for a date, but casual enough for a work lunch too. None of us could decide what we wanted, so we all shared three dishes. The bologna sandwich, shrimp & grits, and Scottish salmons & Texas caviar were huge hits with us. The grits had the superb citrus flavor that complimented the creamy texture. The fried bologna really hit the spot — especially if craving something savory. The Texas caviar proved to be a refreshing choice. Don’t forget the drinks! We enjoyed the Juliet + Romeo and Orange Lazarus. The Dew tasted liked biting into a fresh melon!

Remedy is everything you’d expect from a trendy Dallas restaurant. There’s always someone in a bow tie, someone with a ridiculous statement mustache, and someone wearing plaid. Oh, and the restaurant is naturally bringing Prohibition style, or some other hipster era, to modern times while plating comfort American food at $ 10-$ 20 a piece. Most likely… no, very likely, they have grits on the menu. Probably paired with shrimp right? WOW. Creative. No Dallas restaurant would be complete without bougie mac n’ cheese either and in house made syrups and«elixirs». STFU and just give me an alcoholic beverage so I can get juiced up and forget how basic Dallas is… and that my bill is going to be over $ 50 for the same azz shhiiee on Greenville. Nonetheless, I perched up at the bar to converse with a friendly bartender. Joked around with the staff because I couldn’t find the restroom.(IT’S A GODDAMNSECRETPASSAGEDOOR! I have never felt this cool just trying to empty my lady reservoir.) Ordered some jalapeño hush puppies that made me feel like I could have gone to LJS for something similar. All I need to bring is a can of Easy Cheese and I’ve just recreated it at a damn seafood fast food restaurant! Possibly the only detail that stood out to me the most was their use of maitake, hen of the wood mushrooms. Maitake is my favorite kind of mushroom because it has an earthier taste than others. Remedy had it cut up and lightly fried in their Mushroom + Fig salad. Which, by the way, is like a dessert salad because of the sweet thin fig slices and dressing. No, I wouldn’t even consider it a salad at all because I could count the number of leaves in it using my hands. Plus, I actually liked it, so it can’t be real salad. My suggestion to you, if you so wish to come here after this review, is to find yourself a 30k millionaire, suggest Remedy as your first date, wear a low cut blouse, and forget to bring your wallet.

Super cute décor that tries to keep with the original feel of the old building. Friendly service and about an average of 15 – 20 minute wait starting at Sunday brunch. There’s a lot of competition that surrounds the area, and this place definitely keeps up. The best appetizer — hush puppies Cobb Salad — grilled chicken was nicely blackened, but I could have done without the pickled eggs :( Fried Bologna and cheese — OHMY!!! This cheesy, heavenly dish was packed with great gooeyness and the fried bologna was better than mom’s when I was a kid. Tomato Soup — lacked salt, but edible with the Fried Bologna and cheese sandwich. Shrimp and Grits — were perfectly textured; not too runny or thick. The shrimp was a pretty good size, but a little on the fishy side of scent.

Sunday brunch visit around 12 noon; wait time seemed like no more than a min or two for a small party; they do take reservations. Space isn’t super large but it’s pretty and it works. Banquettes and booths that seat 4 or 5, tables that seat 6(potentially more), a bar in the back seats somewhere between 7 – 10 people I think, outdoor seating, and an upstairs area that with a few more seating options. Food + Chicken & Waffles: table favorite, get this. It has heat… but it’s the right kind of spicy heat. It’s like they gently crisped the waffles up in all the glorious chicken fry pan drippings or something… I didn’t even need the honey butter or maple syrup that the dish comes with because it was so good on its own. + Shrimp & Grits: taste was good but the portion was too small, skip this if you are hungry or not sharing with others. + Sausage Gravy Biscuits w/sunny side up eggs: didn’t taste, but 2 people both voted the dish tasty. + Jalapen-chive hushpuppies: had a bite and liked it… I wanted more bites. + Violet Hour: vodka + juliet and romeo soda… very cucumber-y taste to this one. Crisp… has the dry carbonation feel on the tongue and it didn’t taste like there was much vodka in the drink. Service Friendly, smiling faces. We changed last minute from a party of 5 to 6… estimated wait time for a new table was 30 min. We opted to wait at the bar… took less than 30 min… waitress, bartender, hostess… everyone was nice. Price $ 15 average per person, $ 8 average cocktail price, $ 9 average appetizer, and $ 9 average dessert for their brunch menu. Dinner entrees appear to linger around $ 25 per person per their menu. Going back? I really hate that I forgot about dessert. I wish I’d tried the Karalu or the Brian Corn Luscher. Next time, I’d try a dessert, and either a seasonal soda or the Branch & Bourbon, plus the Dirty South appetizer. Looks like I’ll probably be going back.
