I didn’t know what I would think of HG supply after my wife described the place to me. We went on a busy Saturday the wait was about 20 minutes around 3pm. The menu has lots of healthy options for those of you trying to stick to your new years resolutions. We opted for the hummus which comes with piles of fresh vegetables but sans pita bread. We also split a club sandwich the sandwich comes stacked with turkey bacon lettuce and a garlic aoli. Everything was very tasty and service was excellent. The upstairs patio has a different menu so be sure to ask before going up

The wait can be lengthy here but don’t let that discourage you. If you decide to go the bar route on the roof top the service was very good. We enjoyed a fun and lively atmosphere. You have to come try this place out. Oh, the bowls are good and the burger is delicious. I’ve been here twice and both times the service has been spot on.

I wish I could give HG4 stars because I love the location and their rooftop, but after dining there for my 3rd time, all-in-all I am just not blown away. My husband and I sat on the rooftop for the 1st time Friday night. Service was just fine, and it was very busy. My issue was with the food. I applaud HG for having a limited menu on the roof and for numerous reasons(longer wait time for all diners in the restaurant if they serve full menu). I also applaud them for using Eco-friendly dinnerware along with their meals. We ordered Bison chili & the pork nachos. I’ve had the pork nachos as an appetizer before and thought they were good. The chili came out almost cold, and the nachos were chips with pork and ¼ of an avocado. It did not have any cheese or peppers that it states to have on the menu. The pork on the nachos were also almost cold. Anyway, I’ll be back for the view and a cocktail but I’d go elsewhere for food.

Good stuff. Had the burger, nothing to write home about but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Delicious crispy oily honey brussel sprouts. It’s crowded, make a reservation!

I have been wanting to stop by HG Sply Co for AGES. I am a huge fan of the Remedy & since HG Sply is owned by the same owner it has been on my go to list. HG Sply is also one of those well known restaurants around Dallas that everyone seems to have something good to say about. We went on a weekday during lunch and it was completely full. Every table on the inside was occupied and even the four tables in front outside were seated too. I asked the hostess and then the waitress if we could sit on the upstairs patio and they declined because«they don’t open it until 5 and it wasn’t busy enough to open it.» I wish they would seriously consider opening the top deck during lunch hours if they are crowded enough and have a wait. I wasn’t sure how her response to my question made sense considering that there was a wait to be seated and people standing outside. I have to admit that I prefer HG Sply’s sister restaurant(The Remedy). HG Sply caters to those who want or have a healthier lifestyle meanwhile the Remedy caters to those who crave traditional American food. I can’t put my finger on it, but I just was not into the food at HG Sply. I was a bit sad they didn’t offer pita bread with their hummus; instead it comes with pita chips. I ordered the 80⁄20 burger and personally found the bun to be a bit dry. In addition to this, the bacon jam tasted more like BBQ sauce to me and that’s all I could think the whole time while eating it. I didn’t enjoy the food that much, but the service was more than adequate as our waitress was very attentive. At the end of the day I would come back, I just don’t think it’s one of the restaurants that I would crave on my own. Although word has it that the chocolate dumbbell is phenomenal.

Drinking beer on a rooftop and occasionally spitting off the balconies is one of my favorite pastimes, and HG definitely answers the bell here. Plenty of TV screens if the big game is on, and thank goodness for the heat lamps when it’s a little chilly outside. I really like how they format the seating on the roof: there’s a fairly large bar, some traditional booths, long tables, and little private«cubby» tables. Definitely a good spot to bring the gang for happy hour.

When visiting Dallas, my cousins brought me to this place and I enjoyed it very much. We first grabbed drinks on the roof top along with their«famous» nachos. The nachos were very good and different than your average app — they had tons of meat and the tortilla chips were thicker and really good. They had heaters above the tables and that keep us all warm… we then decided to move to the downstairs area after a 20 – 30 minute wait and the place was packed. We were sit down and our server came to the table right away. The ambiance is casual/cool and the people seem to be young professionals in this up and coming neighborhood of Dallas. I ordered their curry bowl with lamb and it was excellent. It was an interesting combination that surprised me how good it tasted. I also heard that most of their food is farm to table style — which I like the concept a lot. All in all, I liked the whole experience at this place and would definitely go back if in the area again.

Holy crap! I went here again last night after a few months and it was just as good as I recall… if not better. Usually the hot spot new restaurant in town struggles with quality as its popularity rises. Not the case with Hg Sply. It’s still fricking finger-licking good, and the people-watching on the rooftop is still an enticing hotspot that draws in some of the most attractive, grownup crowd in Dallas. During this visit, I did a build-your-own bowl: lamb meatballs(so generously portioned I was ashamed), sweet potato hash, and generous sides of Green Goddess dressing, a fried egg and a sliced avocado. Talk about indulgence! If you’re salivating now, rightfully so. This bowl was more delicious than any of the other times I’ve ordered it. I left my bowl completely bare, with a full belly, and craving that same dish the very next day. Yes. That good. It’s rare in Dallas to exceed both the social scene expectation(crowd, ambiance, and vibe) and the quality(food quality, customer service), but I was wildly impressed. I wouldn’t be surprised if HG Sply breaks the trendy restaurant habit and continues to stay relevent and exceptional for years to come. P. S. I am a carnivore with no dietary restrictions, however this place is farm-to-table and makes each dish available in vegan, gluten free and vegatarian forms. Do yourself a favor and add it to your rotation. Take note that it gets busy on weekdays, and expect a lovely sunset complimentary coktail toast, and your’e all set! Reservations recommended.

I am OBSESSED with this place(yes, you can have an obsession towards something after only going there twice, it’s a fact, Google it). I went here on Halloween night just for drinks, and I absolutely loved the rooftop patio. The bar is perfect, the seating areas are perfect, and the most perfect thing about it all is the fireplaces that are perfectly placed. So cozy, so cute, so… PERFECT! I didn’t have any food that first visit so I went back for brunch the following week, and guess what? ITWASPERFECT! It’s super laid back, casual environment, with a very friendly staff. I loved how she explained that everything was organic, fresh, cooked in coconut oil, etc. I started off with a mimosa, which was great, and my friend ordered a yummy Bloody Mary with just enough spice in it. We also ordered a plate of the muffins as an appetizer, and they were delicious! Perfect flavor, not too sweet, great texture, and you could definitely tell they were on the healthier side. For my entrée, I went with a bowl and chose the Kobe beef as my «hunted» option and The Stack(TX bibb lettuce & tomato, sweet potato hash, avocado & an over easy farm egg) for my «gathered» option. Super cute way to present a menu in my opinion. I left there feeling full, but not uncomfortable, and loved every second of my experience. I will certainly be back to this PERFECT brunch establishment.

Oh. My. God… This restaurant is SOGOOD. If you’re like me and you had to go eat a few cheese cubes when you just heard the word“paleo” … Fear not! The restaurant has valet and a cute little interior. be sure to check out the(packed) rooftop bar for a nightcap after your meal. Double under — a tequila drink with BEETJUICE as Rosemary. Sound strange …? It is! The first few sips I was like hmmm I don’t know. And then four double unders later I decided it was pretty good! I’m a fan of cocktails that are more savory instead of sweet so I loved the herby flavor and salted glass. Mussels — 4÷5− the little chunks of sausage in the broth were a delicious surprise Teriyaki bowl with chicken — 5⁄5 … Tons of veggies and chunks of chicken in teriyaki sauce(but not drowning). This was so good and I felt semi healthy eating if even as I consumed tequila alongside. Kettle bell banana pudding dessert– 5÷5… This though friends … It’s as absolutely strange as it sounds … A chocolate kettle bell that’s hollow inside… They bring out a piping hot caramel sauce that they pour over the top that literally melts the kettle bell to reveal the bread pudding with bananas inside. It becomes a bit soupy bowl of desert, milk chocolate, caramel sauce and pudding. You can pick from a whole host of desserts to inside!

We went at 3:45PM on a Thursday and there was plenty of parking in the little lot behind the business. The nachos… omg, delicious. Plus we got them for the $ 6 happy hour price! I had the jalapeño bratwurst for my meal. Note that the burgers and sandwiches do come with fries even though it doesn’t say so anywhere on the menu. They were decent… not the best or worst fries I’ve ever had. My bratwurst was delicious! I especially loved the sauce on there… I have to go look up the name, because I just remember that it was apple-y(«smoked bourbon-ancho-apple butter»). Oh also I added an egg! Always a good choice. :) My husband had the burger with a gluten-free bun and an egg. He said it was good but the meat needed salt and pepper. He really liked the bacon jam. I will be back for more nachos.

We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday morning, our Alzheimer’s fundraising team. We were early, but they brought us in and seated us on the patio upstairs while they finished staff meetings and prep for lunch. Patio weather has come to Dallas, and the roof top deck at HG Supply has a wonderful view of downtown and lower Greenville below. Portions are ample. Drinks are cold and strong. Service is prompt. A great place to pass some«fun day» time.

This place is a breath of fresh air among the atmosphere congested with Ribs, Steak, and more steak which is served every second, minute, and every hour in the Big Red State of Texas… So when we arrived to HG Supply Co at lower Greenville, Dallas and glanced at the menu which included options like organic kale salad, Quinoa Burger, Yellow Curry with Cauliflower, Zucchini Pasta(all under $ 13), and fresh drinks of which one was called ‘the finish line’ which consisted of watermelon, pineapple, and mint($ 5); we had to scream Yeeeee Haaaaaaw and pull up a chair. I ordered from their«bowl» menu… the way it works is you pick your burger patty from choices of pork, chicken, Kobe Beef, Quinoa, Salmon and pair it with a curried or pasta bowl… You can also add for extra $ 2.00 two freshly fried eggs on top of your burger patty to give it that extra grease ;-p I ordered their Quinoa burger and paired it with yellow curry consisting of sweet potatoes, cauliflower and other vegetarian goodness… it was under $ 13 and the taste was bursting with flavours and my body was thanking the brain of thinking of such a healthy concoction! My friends were also very satisfied with their grub as well! I Can’t wait to comeback and try more from their extremely wholesome menu!!!

I’ll start by saying I came here on accident as the restaurant I was originally going to go with a friend was temporary closed, but man were we glad we ended up here. These guys are pretty legit. I get the feeling this review may get pretty lengthy so for the short TL: DR version, come here and eat the tuna while supplies last; also their braised ribs are also flash fried. For everyone else scroll down for the long version Atmosphere: 4 This is a pretty trendy restaurant located in uptown. Inside has a hip, urban feel to it and has a giant chalkboard with all the latest specials and promotions. Seating can be a little tight though Service: 5 Service here was top notch. Not only did we have attentive servers but I got to chat with both the GM and the owner. Both of which are outstanding gentlemen whom you can tell take significant pride in their work. Not only that they are both open to both criticisms(which I didn’t really have) and suggestions. On top of that they also provide a very delicious chocolate cake on your birthday. Food: 5 Braised(and flash fried) short ribs: 5 These things are braised and then flash fried. Seriously… fried ribs. Crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth tender on the inside. Pulled pork nachos: 5 Normally I’d say nachos are pretty pedestrian, but theirs is anything but. Chips are nice and thick which is needed when you have gobs of cheese and slow cooked(8 hr) pulled pork piled on top. Steak: 4.5 Their delmonico ribeye was pretty spot on. Cooked to a perfect mid rare with excellent flavor without being gristly from all the marbling. I wasn’t a big fan of the coconut milk based butter. Props for the ingenuity but doesn’t work for me Tuna: 4 Thick cut seared ahi tuna. What makes this dish is the jalepeno cumin coconut sauce. Honestly when I first saw this I had no idea the combination would work. But when paired with some roasted corn and tomatoes this dish is like music in your mouth. A pity that this will disappear from their menu Chocolate cake: 5 If its your birthday they’ll provide a rich chocolate cake topped with ice-cream. Its not overly sweet and the cake I believe has a hint of nutmeg which compliments the rich chocolate flavor of the cake. Suggestion for the house: Take the corn with that ridiculously good jalepeno cumin coconut sauce, throw it on top of grilled tilipia and serve it in some tacos finished with avocado and lime juice.

Delicious, unique, and healthy. Rarely do you get these three things in one restaurant but hg supply co does just that and they do it well. Hg stands for hunter gatherer. They are all about farm to table, non processed, good quality food. Their menu is also geared towards paleo friendly people but is much more than that. Tonight I got the Texas steak bowl with red flannel hash, brussel sprouts, guac, and an egg. So good and pretty healthy too. The nacho app was also really good. The chips and pulled pork were both pretty bomb. Tried a couple other bowls and other things here and never been disappointed. Tonight they gave my wife a complimentary dessert for her birthday. Flourless chocolate cake a la mode. Soooo good. Melts in your mouth. Literally. This place gets pretty busy so definitely make a reservation. It’s right in the middle of lower Greenville so it’s very popular and even though it’s surrounded by plenty of other restaurants, it’s always packed. Heard brunch is delicious too but never been yet.

I wish I had more stars to give HG. But 5 will do. A couple friends recommended we try HG. We arrived early enough for happy hour, so we just sat in the bar area. I took full advantage of the $ 5 Cucumber Smash drink at happy hour. We had the hummus(I love that they give you lots of veggies rather than chips.) then I ordered the ahi tuna salad and our server recommended I add Brussels sprouts to the dish. I am glad I did — they were heavenly and fried in coconut oil. My boyfriend ordered the Delmonico and said he would order it again. The service was great. At sunset they passed out a sample of a local beer and did a «sunset toast». One of the employees stood on a chair and thanked everyone for being there. It was really nice. I’m only in Dallas for 5 days, but there is a very good chance that I go back before I leave.

Such a great place for brunch! I came here with a friend on a late Saturday morning. We had reservations for 11 a.m.(which is when they open) and when we arrived we asked for a seat on their famous rooftop patio. The hostess said that the upstairs patio was not really connected to the main restaurant, that it was open seating and they don’t serve their full brunch menu upstairs – in fact, she warned us that there were only three menu items being offered up there. But the rooftop patio is the whole reason I wanted to give this place a try, so we decided to risk it. We made our way upstairs and seated ourselves at a cute little two-person table looking out onto Lower Greenville, with the downtown skyline in the distance. Just lovely. The patio has ample seating, lots of greenery(we were seated next to a huge basil plant!) and plenty of fans and misters to keep you cool. It took a while before we were noticed, but when a waiter did finally make his way over he was very polite and attentive(although later we were waited on by a different waitress, who informed us that our first waiter had«gone home»). I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and my friend ordered the HG Breakfast Plate. I also ordered a cup of coffee, and when I asked if they had almond milk I was pleasantly surprised when the waiter told me that’s actually the only milk that they have! Our food was served on paper plates, which seemed odd, but it was scrumptious. The Huevos Rancheros is two crispy corn tortillas topped with black beans and two eggs sunny side up, with a side of avocado. It was a messy dish, but delicious. My friend enjoyed her breakfast plate(two eggs, two slices of bacon, sweet potato hash and a bacon fat biscuit) quite a bit. Delicious food and a beautiful place to eat it. My only issues are with slightly spotty service and the disconnect between the upstairs patio and the restaurant as a whole. Certainly I am a fan, and I will definitely be back.

I think this is one of the best(if not THE best) place in Lower Greenville for brunch, lunch, happy hour and dinner. You cannot beat the rooftop bar. It’s huge and super classy. The layout has the right mix of shade and sun. The have numerous fans that blow water mist in the summer to keep you as cool as possible. I love the plants. Extra points for the no smoking section outside upstairs. Another extra point for outdoor TVs. I’ll definitely be back for football season. The food here is amazing. It’s all fresh farm to table organic stuff. I usually don’t buy into that, but you can easily taste the difference here. I’m a big fan of the bowls they have, which are similar to regular meals you would order, but in a bowl instead of on a plate. The draft selection is nice. I count 13 on the roof. I’m not sure if they have more downstairs, but they also have an impressive bottle selection.
