Let’s just say it’s the absolute best! Never had better tex mex anywhere and I have tried. A very family atmosphere and great for anyone whether you want drinks with friends or a casual family dinner. Been coming here my entire life and never had a bad experience. Minnie is a wonderful waitress and you know you’re going to have a great time. Very sweet and always smiling

I have been a loyal customer of Mia’s for 15 years. It was their garlic rich salsa with a kick that initially made me fall in love. The swirl Margaritas are delicious on a hot Texas day. The best feature of all? The beautiful man who has worked there longer than I’ve been a customer, the manager Juan with marvelous customer service and fabulous skin.

Here’s what is excellent and will cause me to come back time and time again: brisket tacos. It’s true — they’re the best. Here’s what is less than desirable: parking. It’s valet-only. And although it’s complimentary, there’s always that feeling of obligation to tip, and there should be! Those guys are providing a service. Here’s what is not good: the queso. It’s not the WORST, but certainly not the best.

Mia’s was crazy busy on a Friday, I thought it must be amazing. I got to the bar and order frozen margs. Not bad but a bit too sweet. We had to stand around for a while, and while we did they came by with a huge platter of nachos. I thought that was a nice touch. We sat and ordered appetizers and food. For how busy it is I thought the food would have been better. We had 10 in the party And at least 4+ thought the food was nothing special. Sorry but I don’t think I will be returning. Due to the amount of people there I also don’t think they will miss me. I’m sure they must have something on the menu that people go back for.

This was a good place for lunch. I had the brisket tacos. They were awesome. The chips and salsa average. Nothing I would remember. But the service was great too :)

Boring bland food with large portions. Margaritas were so sweet they were undrinkable. Go to E bar instead. Every Tex mex place I’ve ever been to in NY was better than this. Kind service– the valet is weird and unnecessary.

A small tex mex restaurant that serves big, bold flavors. They start you out with WARM chips and salsa which was a great start to the meal already. I had their famous brisket tacos. They were so good I wish I had a big enough stomach to finish the two big ones they give you. These tacos are filled with cheese, jalapeños, caramelized onions, and the most tender brisket ever. They also give you a side of some brisket gravy to dip your tacos. YUM! The service was great also! She was nice enough to give me some flour tortillas togo, although their tortillas has nothing on uncle Julio’s. Since the parking is pretty tight there, they offer complimentary valet parking! If you come here on a busy night, be prepared to wait a little. I think this place can only fit maybe 50 people max.

Mia’s is simply the best Tex-Mex in Dallas. It’s family run, the food is fresh and delicious, the drinks are strong, and the service is impeccable. The location(sort of) brings together the gayborhood and Highland Park — so the variety you’ll find in the seats is just exactly congruent to that of the menu — everything from sweet to salty. The one thing you should know ahead of time is that it’s valet parking only so you’ll want to have at least a little cash on you. Bottom line: This place is fantastic.

Um, No. Just No. Maybe I don’t get it because I am not from the area? This place was gross. The food lacked salt and flavor. My husband got the brisket tacos. The peppers were on one side of the taco and the meat on the other side, the sauce was cold and gelatinous. I ordered The chili enchilada with cheese. WAY too much cheese and the sauce had no seasoning/salt. The Sour cream/chicken enchilada was yellow. How does one make a yellow enchilada sauce? I came out cold and flavorless. The ground beef in the taco was ok and so were the chips and salsa. My son wouldn’t eat his quesadilla, he said it was«gross» but he did eat his beans and rice.

This is a pretty good Tex-Mex place in Dallas! The waiters are very attentive, the prices are low, and the chips and salsa flow! This location isn’t ideal for large groups, but if you’re looking for a place for just a couple people, then this is a great option. There’s patio seating and a nice bar! I am not generally a fan of valet parking, but if you’re into that, you’ll find it here in the evenings.

Been to mia’s twice and have been happy both visits. The famous brisket tacos are a must try. That is what I got on my first visit. It’s a pretty unique dish in my opinion that has been skillfully crafted to the T. The gravy brings all the flavors together. I also had a margarita on this visit which i would highly recommend. Last night I went for the second time and got the miguelitos special because I wanted to try the enchiladas. I was happy with everything on my plate. Also, their salsa that comes with the chips is perfect! Not too weak and not too spicy. We also got queso which was decent. I love the complimentary valet because I’m horrible at parking on this side of town anyway. I am quite fond of this place.

Went on a Friday evening around 5:30 and we were seated right away… got pretty busy though closer to peak dinner hour. There is complimentary valet parking or you can park behind Lemmon on the side streets. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Started with a margarita sangria swirl… pretty strong, not too sweet, yum! Complimentary chips/salsa. The server suggested the brisket tacos. They came with a side of rice, refried beans, and brisket gravy. They were delicious-highly recommended. Overall, great place with decently priced delicious tex mex. Will be back!

The food was delicious. Ordered spinach enchiladas, selected salsa verde, which was accompanied by the famous Tex Mex cousins, rice and beans(refried, and super runny– I was hoping I wouldn’t end up the same LOL). Surprisingly, a long lost aunt showed up, cabbage slaw, and I liked her most. Asked for another side of slaw. Next time, I’ll skip the cousins. The trickiest part of the meal is navigating to the restroom, which requires a near death pass through the kitchen. What? Odd. Chips were very light, although yellow corny, and crisp with good(mild) salsa. Pull on up, drop off your car for valet, and remember to save a few $$ for the tip.

Let me start off by saying that the complementary valet parking was cool and the food was delicious which is why I am giving this place any stars at all. I had the enchiladas verdes which were very good, however I ordered them with chicken AND cheese in both but was brought one chicken and one cheese. My bf got the brisket tacos and they were delicious; the meat was moist and they were very flavorful. The tortillas were soft but durable enough not to fall to pieces when you pick them up. We ordered a side of guacamole, however, we never received it so I sadly cannot report on how the guacamole was. Also, the chips were addictive but the salsa was so-so. Now, on to the service. In short: it was awful. Our server took our drink orders smoothly but everything went downhill when he took the food orders. I don’t require many things from a server but the major one is to PAYATTENTIONANDLISTEN when I am ordering my food. Our waiter tonight took our orders literally over his shoulder as he grabbed our menus and was walking away, and no he didn’t bother to write anything down. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but when the food came and there was still no guacamole dip and my order was wrong I was not amused. After bringing our food he didn’t ever check in to see how it was or if we needed anything so I never even got to mention the missing guacamole dip or my order being incorrect. When we were done eating and our drinks had been dry for a bit we had to go search him out to get our check, and then when he brought the check out he just set it on the table, no «thank you, come again» or anything. And no, they were not very busy so it wasn’t like he had a million other tables he was trying to keep up with or anything. The ‘tl:dr’ bottom line– Come for the food because it’s delicious but expect the service to suck!

MIa’s is a dirty, tattered old shack that serves the best brisket tacos in the world. I’ve been here several times in the 34 years that Mia’s has been in existence, and every time I’ve left full and happy, knowing all is right with the world. The chips are thick and crisp, the sauce is red, thick, and has a nice kick, and the corn tortillas are among the best I’ve ever had. The rita’s are solid, strong and neutral on the sweet/tart scale, a nice counterpoint to the rich food. Mia’s is one of a handful of Dallas restaurants that has thrived over the past few decades, having found its niche as the perfect Tex Mex dive. Adding to its legend, this is where Jerry Jones offered Jimmy Johnson Tom Landry’s job, without filling in Tom first, supporting its air of doing whatever it damned well pleases, tradition be damned. I recommend dining here wholeheartedly.

I would never have known about Mia’s if it weren’t for Tallywackers. A friend was determined to visit Tallywackers, but a quick glance at Unilocal reviews claiming the food was bad and the experience was disappointing meant that I was eager to find another restaurant nearby«just in case.» Upon walking in and discovering there would be a 2-hour wait, we were quickly off to Mia’s. The place was pretty full and we were given an estimated wait time of 20 – 30 minutes, but were seated within 5 – 10 minutes. I had the brisket tacos. They don’t skimp on the meat or the Monterey Jack cheese, which made these both super delicious and super duper filling. I almost wished there was something light or citrusy to cut through the heaviness, but it’s definitely worthy of praise as is. I loved the crispiness of the shell, which kind of made it into a hard soft shell taco. I wish I could have all of my tacos like this. Forever. The tacos also came with healthy portions of salad, beans, and rice. For just $ 10.25, this was SOWORTHIT. If you’re looking for alcohol, the menu tells you to ask the waiter for a bar menu. Our waiter stared at us for a beat before he quipped that they didn’t have a bar menu – just beer, wine, and margaritas. Frozen margaritas it was. And the margaritas here are delicious! They’re definitely strong, but not too sweet or too bitter. Yum. Should you ever find yourself in the same situation, don’t even stop by Tallywackers. Go straight to Mia’s.

I went here three years ago and kept thinking about it until I finally returned on this trip. The brisket tacos are amazing! The brisket is roasted and served with green peppers and onions. It tastes more like a pot roast… not BBQ. They top it with Monterey jack cheese. They then crisp the flour shell by grilling it on each side. It is served with tasty rice and refried beans. The chips and salsa are also amazing. The salsa has the perfect amount of spice. Service is quick! Soda is by the can. Parking is free valet for lunch. $ 5 at dinner. I will definitely be back on my next visit:)

First time to Mia’s and I was not disappointed! A girlfriend of mine loves this place and I’m so glad she showed me. Before you get to far you need to know there is NOT a happy hour. Margaritas are $ 8 so if you’re going cheap stick to a beer. The margaritas are strong so they’re worth the $ 8! I got the infamous brisket tacos on corn tortillas and they were amazing. Stuffed with peppers and onions, add some slices of avocado and a little of the brisker gravy… Damn. Two was plenty for me, I couldn’t even eat both! I may or may not have filled up on their salsa– Service was good and the bathrooms. Haha only one! But you get to stand and watch the kitchen while you wait so it was worth the wait. Basically got to see the menu go by me while waiting. Highly recommend this place!

A friend of mine gave me a ride to the auto shop and then insisted we go to lunch here. I was like. sure, whatever you want my loyal pal that gives friends rides just because you are awesome. We got to Mia’s and my normally patient, laid back friend slaps her hand down hard on my menu and said you can look if you must but you’re only allowed to get brisket tacos, you can thank me later. I realize Mia’s already has a few hundred reviews. There’s a reason for that. Mia’s is the bomb diggity awesomeness you have dreamed of when you wish for the best Mexican food. Mia’s has the best queso I have ever had in my whole life. I mean it. Best Queso of MY WHOLE LIFE. The brisket tacos were impeccable. The sopapilla for dessert was exquisite. The expensive but worth it strawberry margarita made with fresh strawberries and fresh lime is worthy of a repeat performance. I would go to Mia’s again in a heartbeat. If you go in the evening, prepare yourself for a wait to get a table as well as a five spot for the valet guys. Mia’s does not take reservations so you have to wait in line with the rest of the peasants. All hail Mia’s!

As far as Mexican food goes, let’s say this ain’t my first rodeo. When a restaurant has to offer valet parking and and has a wait like this, sometimes it’s for a reason. This is one of those times. Firstly, if you don’t give the beef brisket tacos a shot, I can’t help you. They were fantastic. Like, really really unreasonably good. The salsa is spicy and tasty. And spicy. Did I mention spicy? Service was professional and fast. I’ll be back. Oh yes, I’ll be back.
