This restaurant is amazing! I have only been once(so far) but I absolutely plan on returning in the near future. The interior is very classy and I was probably underdressed(jeans, sweater and Toms) but I didn’t feel too out of place since it is still a restaurant connected to a mall(albeit Northpark). The waitstaff wasn’t snooty or entitled at all, and our waiter, whose name I think was Lawrence, was very attentive, even bringing me a black napkin since I was wearing a black sweater(totally did not expect this kind of service). The food was also quite tasty, I had the stuffed Atlantic salmon which left nothing to be desired. It was in a brie sauce that was bar none. I also had a cosmopolitan which would have been better in a cold glass, it warmed up quite quickly. I will definitely be returning!

Let me preface this review with the fact that I love this place, their food, drinks, but I will never be coming back after coming once a week for 6 months. The second to last time I was there we sat in a booth in the bar, which I had never done before I typically sit at the bar. Our waiter when I gave him my drink order told me the drink would put some«skip in my do dah…» enough said. He had way too many tables inside and outside and it took 2 hours for a meal that’s typically 45 minutes. Oh well I still love it and all would have been forgiven except… The last time I brought along my Fiancé for happy hour. I was a bit hungry so I was going to grab an appetizer at the bar. He doesn’t drink alcohol anymore so I drank alone. When, after getting my drink, I asked to be served food the bartender refused to let me eat because my FI didn’t want anything to drink. This of course offends my fiancé so the bartender brings over a manager. I explain that I have been coming here for quite a while and am very curious as to why I can’t order the happy hour food because my fiancé doesn’t want to drink. He states that it’s policy, the bartender rudly interrupts him and says if you come here all of the time then you should know what it’s like(In fact I’ve had this bartender at least 5 or 6 times, so glad he remembered me… or not) The manager tells him to be quiet and proceeds to tell us we aren’t able to eat there and he will refund my drink order. If I have to beg to be able to eat food at a place it’s not a place I want to eat. And if you are going to embarrass a patron… Well there are better places in the mall to eat.

Just went here for Sunday Brunch to celebrate my Moms B-day. We thought it was going to be real expensive. What a suprise! It really is reasonable, especially for the portion you get. There were four of us at the table and we were all happy with our choice rather it was breakfast or lunch. Our server was excellent! He was right on time with coffee and water refills and very polite. I will be going back soon!

Really should be a Five Star, however, giving it a full Five would not give me any room to compliment them when I return REALSOON! The Food was wonderful. I had the Crab Cakes and Salmon combo. the rest of the posse had something with the Crab Cakes. Presentation was outstanding and portions were healthy. meaning I got full. The wine is affordable and Excellent. Service First Rate. So, why is this joint in North Park Mall? Good question and is why I want to go again or maybe try another location if I can find one. Maybe next time go to the Happy Hour which we could not get into the Bar since it was PACKED. Must mean they have some great Martinis or something. Still is a great place to go. try it out and let me know what you think.

I’ve been here for lunch, dinner, and happy hour and I can honestly say that I’m never disappointed by McCormick’s. Happy Hour: They have AMAZING happy hours because you can get super cheap food that is so incredibly filling. What’s great too is that they’re happy hour goes until 7, unlike most places that only go until 6 pm. Last time I came here, I spent $ 10 and got a Sangria and the cheeseburger. Their burger is only $ 3!!! It’s probably between a 1/3−½ pound burger and comes with a side of fries. I always split it with a friend because I can’t ever finish it. The Sangria is also super yummy, but there are other drink specials which are cheaper if you’re not into the fruity drinks. Lunch/Dinner: Last time I came here for dinner, I ordered their scallops and risotto. If you read my reviews, I have been trying lots of different risottos at various restaurants lately, and I have yet to be disappointed by the 3 – 4 restaurants that I have visited. Their scallops were key to how scrumptious this entrée was. Scallops are really easy to overcook and they’ll go from melt-in-your-mouth to rubbery consistency real fast if they’re not cooked right. No worries though because McCormick’s serves this dish just right! I also like that they update their menu daily to reflect the freshest seafood for the day. It also shows me that their chefs in the kitchen aren’t getting complacent with their cooking and that they’re always willing to try new things to impress the patrons. This is a perfect place to go if you’re celebrating something special or you just want to splurge on a nice meal.

Well, the idea and location of this restaurant will always keep a returning customer out of me. I’ve been before and have always loved the Iceber Wedge, Mac and Cheese, and above all — the service. Maybe my patio seat and small order of an already discounted, happy hour feature prompted the waiter to not be so appreciative of our business. It took a good while before I was even greeted for some water, let alone the length of time it took to actually order food. Understandably their happy hour can’t offer expensive fish due the amazingly low prices, but I would still hope the quality of happy hour food wouldn’t be any different than their average menu. It’s a catch-22 –do you complain about the $ 2 California roll, but how can you when it is only $ 2? Yeesh. In short, McCormick & Schmick’s are onto to something. They create this cheap happy hour by protect themselves from the food being only so-so. Eventually, I had to go inside to find my waiter to pay for my tab, however this won’t be my last visit. I believe in your McCormick & Schmick’s, I believe in you.

Amazing Coho salmon that was unbelievably tasty. It was served on a bed of Swiss chard with a side of Asian pepper sauce. The sauce was OK, but I was glad to have gotten it on the side. The fish was unbeatable, fresh, tender, and cooked perfectly.

YUM! My friends and I met up for the reverse happy hour and I was happy to stuff my face with mussels. I’ve been narrowing down what seafoods I’m allergic to and so far I think I’m safe with mussels. :) They were great! At $ 5 a bowl, I was very happy with the taste and the price. Their fish tacos are pretty good too. I wish the tortilla was corn but i guess you can’t have it all. ;) I just ended up eating the fish and the jicama slaw that came with it. The pizza was ok. It wasn’t anything to drool over. The hummus was surprisingly good. I honestly wasn’t expecting much. lol Overall, I had a great time. Next time, I’ll definitely try the pork sliders and the brat wurst soon because a girl gotta get her meat on. om nom nom Edit: My friends made it extra fun.(there you go Tim L.)

I frequent McCormick & Schmick’s Northpark after work when I don’t want to sit in the HAIRPULLING traffic on I-75. So far, they have one of the better Happy Hours in Dallas. There is a one drink minimum, but it’s not overpriced at all. I always end up ordering either the 1⁄3 lb burger with fries, which at $ 2.95 is a STEAL, the baja fish tacos or buffalo wings. I always end up full with a tab of $ 15 or less including the drinks. The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is the some-timey service of the bartenders and long wait for the food, but it is definitely worth the wait.

I don’t know how you could go wrong with their Happy Hour. We ordered 5 dishes from their happy hour menu: bbq pulled pork sliders, wings, burger, baja tacos, and their spinach dip. Everything came out super fast and super tastey. I was really already full just on eating 2 of their pork sliders and munchin on the fries you get with the burger, but I couldn’t help myself to trying out the wings and dip. I do have to say that their beer is pricey for happy hour, but I don’t really drink so it doesn’t affect me. Not sure how their lunch/dinner food is, but I think I’d be content with sticking with their Happy Hour. Decent bar area with ample seating — definitely a place to come with friends to enjoy an early dinner and get the cheap happy hour prices!

My first McCormick & Schick’s experience was in Boston(Faneuil Hall Market Place location) and I remember having the best fried oysters. I ended up going back 2 more times on the same trip just because of the oysters. It was definitely a good time so my recent trip to the Dallas location was long overdue. I wanted to order some seafood, but we went during happy hour(4pm-630pm and 9pm until close) and found that they have some crazy good deals. There is a one drink minimum if you want to take advantage of their happy hour specials, but even their drinks are cheap. I ended up getting the Half Pound Cheeseburger and the Blackened Fish Tacos, which set me back $ 3 and $ 4 respectively. Yup, I ended up getting 2 meals for a mere $ 7. Don’t let the price tag fool you. These entrees were excellent. The fish tacos are actually salmon and they were cooked perfectly. It does take a little different here than other places, but its a good different. If you’re looking for quantity, I suggest you get the cheeseburger. That’s not to say the burger isn’t good, but it’s pretty massive as the patty is ½ a pound. They also pile on a good amount of fries(which were excellent as well). Our waitress was awesome and checked on us regularly without being annoying. This is definitely a good alternative to Kona especially if you’re not interested in standing over someones shoulder while waiting for them to leave. McCormick’s doesn’t have that problem as you will most likely be seated right when you get there. Definitely a hidden gem!

I love this place. I make excuses to go to Northpark just to go to M&S. I particularly recommend you at least once go to brunch in the restaurant and order the salmon crepes. I hate, hate, HATE seafood crepes. Most chefs can’t do a seafood crêpe to save their own life. I also hate salmon as a rule, because everyone cooks all to heck and it’s dry and overly fishy and just… unpleasant. Not so with M&S. The salmon in the crêpe is moist and flaky and amazing. There’s also asparagus in the crêpe, which is an amazing combo. The bechamel sauce on top is rich and yummy. I have incredible difficulty ordering anything else off the menu because the crepes are just so amazing. If you never order them you are doing yourself a disservice. The interesting thing to me about this place is that it’s two venues in one. The restaurant has a very horse racing track feel to it, which is interesting. I am usually the youngest guy in the dining room, which can at times be really funny when you’re overhearing conversations. But then there’s the bar. The bar is very much the hipster section. Different menu, different vibe, different atmosphere. If you check in here on Foursquare you can get a free appetizer. There’s an über special if you get mayorship. Don’t even think about stealing my mayorship or I’ll cut you. For reals. The bar menu is great. They tout their cheeseburger, but honestly a burger is a burger to me. I always try one when people rave about their special burger, be it Kobe beef, steamed and fried, infused, spiced, stuffed, or what have you. But at the end of the day a burger is a burger is a burger in America. Any of them are far superior to burgers I had in, say, Korea where the texture is very much that of spam. Where was I? Oh, bar food. Right. So the burger is good but whatever. The Baja fish tacos, however, rock your world. They are huge and cheap, which are two of my favorite food adjectives. Plus they are really well balanced, really well seasoned, and overall make you want like 12 more. They have other stuff. I don’t care so much about that. Tacos, plz, kthx. They make a very solid dirty Grey Goose martini if you can manage not to get a newbie waiter who doesn’t know how to order it. Has happened to me. Twice. How hard is «Dirty Goose Martini»? Anyway, I am a vodka fiend, so this is all I ever step into here, but my wife loves their bar because they always have great selection of mixed drinks. Her current fixture is the blackberry bramble. I must admit it’s really good. Their liquor prices aren’t all that great, but the food is cheap enough it’s OK. As has been mentioned the reverse happy hours specials are pretty good. Service in the bar area has always been great. Steven is a comedian(no, seriously; he performs and everything) and is really fun. Service in the restaurant has always been hit or miss. We always either get the newbie or the disgruntled veteran. It’s the cast of Waiting working in there, I’m certain. But if youo’re at all familiar with my reviews you probably know that I *always* have service issues. I guess I look too nice, so they send over the B string to me. So I don’t hold it too much against the place as a whole. I highly recommend you check this place out. The prices are great which is a big surprise for Northpark, and the food and drinks are really good. Easily on par with some of the more-touted restaurants in the place…

Went here for reverse happy hour because Kona Grill was full, and I’m glad that I did. It was a Thursday so they had $ 1 baja fish tacos. I ordered this and they were really delicious. A tad on the salty side, but $ 1!!! They also had $ 3 burgers. The drink specials were lacking. I just wanted a regular Miller Lite and that was $ 4.25. But if I’m ever hungry and wanting fish tacos, this is the place I’ll go!

Skip the restaurant and go to the bar! *BESTREVERSEHAPPYHOUR I’VEEVERBEENTO* So if the economy has affected anyone… we should all know by now that I solid 9 – 5 has long since flown out the window. Now that we’re all working well into the 8ish pm range… I’m stoked to find a business that thoroughly appreciates a hard working American by offering a fantabulous reverse happy hour that starts at 9pm! As far as choices go… they’re pretty limited. But the few things they are offering are SOLID. You can’t go wrong with a Franconia Brew! It’s locally made AND they have fabulous tours. The menu items are SOCHEAP! Most of their appetizer type items are under $ 2. They also serve a HUGE burger for $ 3AND the sucker comes with fries. On Thursdays, they have $ 1 fish tacos. So i’m expected this dinky little white fish something. WRONG. HUGE slab of grilled SALMON… One dollar my friends. ONEDOLLAR. It was so big, I was pretty much done after it. But I had already ordered the burger. And this chickadee don’t waste no food. Did I regret it? Only slightly … only slightly. I will go to say that the food could use some slight improvements… but for the prices I am paying… I a’int complainin’ Also, you’d expect the place to be JAMPACKED. I find a booth or small table every time I’ve gone. It’s Excellent. GOGOGO!

For their private party staff, 1000 stars! They made my Mom and Dad’s 50th Anniversary party as smooth and special as possible, providing all the projectors we needed for our slide shows, all the tables needed for Sis’ 60’s Price Is Right game props, and all the space needed for my huge photo booth. They even got in on the action, guessing at the games and singing along with the 60’s music, and having their pic taken in the booth, dressed in my wacky props. There was never a request too big or small for them that was not taken care of with grace and a great attitude. And during meal service, our wine glasses were never empty, and they were unobtrusively present during all the speeches, etc, refilling and clearing plates. Oh, and the food was great, specifically the lobster crab bisque, which I will be looking for again and again at our M&S in Austin! The salmon was tasty and the fresh veggies were vibrant and perfectly al dente cooked. But it was the service… I mean, there’s just nothing too good for your parents when it comes to this celebration of their years together and they really delivered on the perfection!

I have always avoided this place, because I am cheap. So when the Tax Day, $ 10.40 lunch deal came up, I pounced like a hobo on a bone. The place was cool, kind of like an upscale, yet old school New Orleans seafood joint. The staff was amazing, they took great care of the solo dude in the bar area, who wanted to watch the Rangers day game, and drink water. The bread that they brought me before my meal was the best part, it had an almost smokey taste. I ended up ordering the Seafood Pomodoro Pasta, with Atlantic Salmon, Mahi Mahi, and Shrimp. The Mahi Mahi was great, the Salmon was tasteless, and the shrimp was interestingly good. The only thing, is that with this HUGE bowl, they gave me TWO shrimp, and left the tails on, FAIL. The bread came back into play, to soak up the greasy Pomodoro sauce. All in all… meh

my review is purely based on their happy hour @ the bar area 4.5 stars!!! –0.5 for Guinness being regular price =P but hey~ Amazing menu and prices during their HAPPYHOUR and REVERSEHAPPYHOUR! M-F 4 – 6:30pm and 9−10pm Sun 4−9pm someone might have mention this already but it’s great that they offer a reverse house for those of us who can’t make it during the regular one. now onto the food /pricing! this place is listed as one of the BEST happy hour place to visit in Dallas… and yes they are right on the MONEY. stuff I’ve had and loved!!! fried pickle $ 1.95 sweet potato fries $ 1.95 ½lb cheese burger with fries $ 2.95 buffalo wings $ 3.95 spanich and artichoke dip $ 3.95 Thai popcorn shrimp $ 4.95 the only wish I had was for the GUINNESS to be on a happy hour price too but it wasn’t =(but hey… the food is SUPER good and if you drink domestic or their $ 5 Sangria special then it’s not so bad~ thing I had ordered before… they have a oyster station at the corner of the bar where you can order freshly crack opened Oysteres which is yum but it’s regular price(very fresh and good size… not too big or small) just thinking about it makes my mouth water… I need to visit again soon!!!

=(The good ol’ Happy Hour days are O-V-E-R. Don’t get me wrong, the happy hour still exists, however, it is awful compared to before. NO sweet potato fries, veggie quesadillas, baked potatoes, or spinach artichoke dip. I was sitting at the bar, and the bartender asked me what was wrong. I told her: «I’m sorry. I’m just so distraught over the new menu.» SHE said, «You’re telling me. How do you like our new uniforms? Like the bullet-proof vest?» So, I’m not the only one that dislikes the M & S makeover, and her vest was silly and manly looking. And not in a badass way. So, I departed the HH and searched the mall for my new go-to place, and found Maggiano’s! Check out my review for more information on their awesome Happy Hour!

I’ve been here several times, and it’s consistently good, but not surprisingly so. Stick with the traditional fish dishes. On my last visit, I ordered the scallops. They were rubbery, over-cooked(plus one had charcoal dust from the grill), and tasted fishy(i.e. NOT fresh). The risotto they came with was incredibly mediocre. Definitely not a dish worth $ 22. Toulouse(on Knox) does scallops much better, if you’re looking for scallops but not looking to spend $ 30+ on them. The service at McCormick & Schmick’s is generally good, too, but man, not last time. Our waitress had zero personality, came over to check on us *once* like she was reciting lines from a script, didn’t bring us bread until our salads came, and *never* refilled our water glasses. In fact, even after we ASKED for more water, we never got any. I was dribbling individual water drops onto my parched tongue by the end of the meal. This was the first time I’ve had dessert here, and I ordered the bread pudding because(1) it was bread pudding and(2) it had blueberries in it. I have the world’s best bread pudding recipe(my own personal creation based on 3 years of tweaking), so I always test restaurants to see if their bread pudding can come close. Well, the sauce on it was amazing — a strong almond flavor — but the bread pudding itself was a little dry.(You shouldn’t have trouble scooping into bread pudding with a spoon, but I almost needed a knife for this one.) Still, the sauce was divine. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes, and I’ve always enjoyed them in the past, so I learned a valuable lesson this time around — stick to the basics(trout, sole, halibut, etc.) at McCormick & Schmick’s. Also, call ahead to reserve the curtained booths. Super cozy, almost like you’re dining in your own home, but with a full waitstaff. Amazing. Also, while this is a «casual» restaurant, it’s definitely«upscale casual.» Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
