Mixed experience this past Friday night. Tried waiting a few days to write this but still frustrated. Environment, wait staff, drinks and crowd were great. The band was filling in for regulars(I guess, since they’re not listed on the wall) and was outstanding. But, the manager(Chad?) was uptight, overbearing and all over staff and customers. Apparently he kicked out a group of women who were dancing and having a good time but not unruly. He even went up and argued with the band a couple of times, in the middle of songs!?!, for no apparent reason. We’d like to come back but The Chad needs to calm down

My favorite hotel bar in Dallas. My husband and I love coming here on Saturday nights to hear Aubree-Anna sing, sip on cocktails, and people watch. We also seem to strike up conversation with the most interesting strangers there. There are people of all types that frequent this place, from young friends to cute old couples. Love the classy ambiance of this place, it feels like an old speakeasy in Manhattan. Drinks are a bit pricey, so be prepared as your bill will add up quick when you’re having so much fun!

Great place and atmosphere. Try to get there right after work to get a prime spot for the live music. Be prepared for the bill though: four dirty vodka martinis(between two people) totaled $ 65.

I enjoy the library bar. It is an old classical venue where enjoying a cocktail to live music the classy way can be done!

Just went last night for the time. What a great place, the live music was awesome, and the drinks are WOW, they are not afraid to put some liquor in the drinks. Very cool place, girlfriend and I loved it.

This is a classy bar in a nice Dallas hotel. The night I was there they had a great lounge singer, and the cocktails were excellent. I’d definitely come back the next time I’m in town.

Oh… the history and ambience of this awesome bar. Paneled in dark wood and nestled in the center of the Melrose, this place has a 1920’s vibe and you’ll wish you were dressed as a flapper as you sip your wine and indulge in their upscale bar menu. I had the garden vegetable flatbread and a couple glasses of happy hour Chardonnay. What a great way to unwind after a day out in the real world!

Not impressed with the cocktails or live music. The drink menu looked fantastic– the drinks(priced $ 16 each) not so much. Cheap, small, glass wear and weak sloppily prepared drinks by an inexperienced staff were disappointing. The live entertainment on a Friday night was a glorified karaōke superstar playing odd songs from 2000s+. I will not be back and recommend you go somewhere else.

A favorite place in Dallas for a late night drink in a relaxing atmosphere, where you can have a conversation without straining to hear each other, while sitting in a lush leather chair, and listening to a little live jazz, and imbibing a perfect vesper. Cheers!

I love a good piano bar — no, not a dueling piano bar — but a classic piano bar with good cocktails, candlelight, throwback décor … and really cool bartenders. Library Bar is located inside the Warwick Hotel. Seating in limited, so leave your name with the host, grab a drink at the bar, and hope that you’ll get a table soon. The crowd consists of mostly couples in their 50s and 60s — the majority with their faces pulled tightly back, lips plumped … good people watching. You might find some folks slow dancing or others celebrating some sort of occasion. I really *loved* the performance by the talented and GORGEOUS singer Aubree-Anna and her husband who plays the piano. I got a chance to talk to them after their show; we also made acquaintances with the bartenders. Fun times and I rec locals and visitors check out Library Bar.

High on class. Low on snoot. This is a great spot for cocktails and live music on Saturday nights! Perks — The live music on Saturday night is something to experience. Aubree-Anna is a fabulous figure at the bar, and her knack for entertaining really makes the atmosphere of this place unique. — Nice selection of cocktails that are done well. — Library Bar carries a classy vibe, but nobody is turned away for grad student attire. I’ve been testing this for over a year. — The people that flow in and out of this place are sometimes fun to watch and engage. There is a high probability that you’ll meet someone interesting to chat with. Downsides — Drinks are a bit pricey. I think it’s appropriate given the value of the experience, but maybe watch yourself if you have a tendency to buy rounds easily. — The seating is very limited on a crowded Saturday night. Most other nights are fine. Just be warned. Tips — Park in the surrounding neighborhood areas to avoid the valet area. The walk is usually not far at all. — Dress up a bit for the fun of it. Wear your nicest t-shirt at least. — Chat with the staff there. Many of them make a point to be engaging and remember people.

Be aware of what appears to be deceptive trade practices. I went in on a Friday night and when I received the bill, I had been changed a cover charge. At the prices they charge for drinks I don’t see the need to gouge their customers for an extra 5 dollars. I have frequented this bar for years, but won’t be back.

The Library Bar was recommended by a friend as a good place to go after dinner, So that’s exactly what we did! It’s a smaller lounge that’s dim, but not dark. With a focus on a darker wood panels accented by large round light fixtures for ambient light. On a quieter night, this would be a romantic place to get to know someone better. If you didn’t feel like chatting you could always sit back and listen to some live music. There was a beautiful woman named Aubree-Anna in a red dress singing older songs and she was magnificent. She was named as one of the top 10 most beautiful women in D magazine. If you come on a busier night you should hope that you’re one of the first 30 people in or you’re not going to be sitting anywhere. Service was really very good when they’re not swamped. When it gets busy though the staff has a hard time filling orders and closing tabs in a reasonable time causing a backup at the only bar. I would suggest to the manager that they hire a bar-back(runner in Europe) for peak times. Overall pleasant experience and would definitely go back again. On a funnier ironic note, there are not too many books in The Library.

Been coming here for years. The change up was needed. I love me some Chad. Groovy place. I am a sucker for live music. Jazzzzzzzz alllllllll the way if you want in my happy heart. Revamped wine selections and a cocktail list that is a twist on the old. I am not much for ever drinking anything out of a martini glass, not even an Aviation. But he was determined to try me on a few things. I sipped each and passed. Because the Malbec is peppery enough to add missing spices for the evening in your face. Just skip all that. His CDR, BTG is cheaper and forget your name appropriate while sitting under the upside down sun light. Table for two. Felt like a party for all. Valet is comped if you take your ticket in. Such a blast.

I’m writing this review live since I’m here by myself, on a Friday night, at the end of a tiring business stay. So far it’s 5 stars– nice vibe, very classy. I don’t feel awkward sitting at the bar by myself at all. There’s an Aretha Franklin-esque piano diva singing in the background. The scene at 8:40 pm on a Friday night is chill, lots of groups in their mid 30s to 40s. There’s a table of ladies celebrating a birthday. There’s a couple in their 60s sitting on smoking chairs. There are two Texan gentlemen in the their late 30s chatting at the bar. My dirty martini, with tanqueray gin, is sufficiently dirty. The cocktail list is long but unexciting– lots of sweet sounding dessert drinks, some classic suggestions(eg Manhattan, Bloody Mary, a Tom Collins), as well as some«refreshing cocktails» that sound way to tiki to entice me. Food options are pretty good– cheese boards, Fried somethings, tuna poke, flat breads, hummus, and my pick– the scallops with bacon($ 14). It arrives in 10 minutes, the waiter apologizes for the wait. It’s pretty small– two scallops on a bed of grits, but cooked perfectly, and the caramelized bacon on top is a great sweet addition to round out the dish. I’d recommend it, unless you are hungry and want something larger, in which case Id order the Burger, which is the same price. The scallops were perfect for me however, since I just wanted something light. As I eat I notice a younger party of 3 sits down. There’s a great background lull of conversation supplementing the slow piano jazz. It’s a good night. This place held on to its 5 stars, I’d come here again.

What a cool place! Felt like I was in a scene from The Great Gatsby in here. Real classy place, dimly lit, speakeasy influenced, nice music, and fantastic drinks. The cocktail menu was very comprehensive– felt like the Cheesecake factory for cocktails– pages and pages and pages of drinks. A nice mix of unique drinks I’ve never seen before, and the classics. We had eaten a huge dinner and I wanted a sort of dessert drink– so I ordered a white russian and it was awesome. Generous with the vodka and the bartenders were super friendly. Really enjoyed the Library Bar. The only drawback is parking– tough to find and bad access. If you’re looking for a grown-up bar with some serious character, get your library card and check out a drink from this place.

I actually had this place bookmarked already — I suppose to try the drinks I see in the pictures. Our private company’s Alliance Organization had a three day conference in the hotel — this bar was used as the place to serve breakfast and lunch. Their version of Texas BBQ is mild and no different than what most people can make at home, albeit the food is served in fancy dishes. Their breakfast sandwiches however were very delicious and left me wanting more. The ambience is nicely done, it’s a small sized bar that’s intimate when no music is being played. The wait staff were friendly, effective and stayed out of the way. I didn’t get to enjoy the night life side of the bar, however we had our cocktail hour in a part of the hotel close to the bar. The lights were dim, music playing on the piano. .it was a cute atmosphere if you just want to grab a drink before going to another business on Cedar Springs. I parked for free at The Centrum and walked over.

Absolutely love this place! If you are in the mood for a swanky spot to lounge, sip & relax with friends, then Library Bar is your place. Don’t come here if you are looking to get wild and crazy… There are plenty of spots in uptown Dallas for that nonsense. However, if you want a night of class and elegance with a few choice cocktails, then look no further. The vibe I got from Library Bar is very«Great Gatsby”-ish and almost like an old english gentlemen’s club. Think mahogany finishes, marble countertops, low lighting and luxurious leather furniture. Library Bar reminds me of an establishment I’d see in DC or another large, historical city. Long story short… I just love everything about this place. The drinks are great, and they have plenty of tables, chairs and couches to enjoy with an intimate group of friends. They also usually have some form of live jazz entertainment on the weekends. This is a solid spot to lounge any night of the week, and I will most certainly be back soon!

Drinking here had me feeling like I was part of the yacht club and missing my annual trip to Antigua. Unfortunately I forgot my cable knit sweater to wrap around my waist but I did remember to wear my Sperry’s. I walked into this sophisticated joint with a friend and we ordered a few traditional cocktails to start. I tried the wedding cake cocktail which smelled fantastic, faintly sweet and it tasted just as good. Surprisingly it DID actually taste like white wedding cake with an adult twist. Between me and my companion, we tried 5 – 6 drinks and every one of them was unique, well mixed and delicious with a healthy dose of each respective poison. Our waitress was sweet, attentive, knowledgeable and overall fantastic which brought our experience from a 3 star worthy visit to 4 stellar stars. In addition to great cocktails, we also had the pleasure of listening to the pianist play a myriad of songs, some hit, some miss. People who come here dress well for the most part so don’t stroll in looking like you just woke up and threw on your lucky holey jeans and frat t-shirt. The couple of downsides are this place is not cheap and the crowd is almost exclusively older. Come with a little bit of money to burn though and dress the part with your manners intact and I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself and be loose as a goose before you know it.

I started early on a Saturday: wine at scardellos wine and at 560. I was in bed by 10:30pm but my phone kept buzzing with boys so I got up and dressed and headed to the only non gay bar within walking distance of my house: Library Bar. I picked a booth in the back and ordered a wine and some nuts. To my right was an Indy couple, she prettier and fawning all over him. Him with wine, she with a cocktail. The lounge singer was loud. Not what I had in mind but she had a desperate cheesy quality and a good voice that made it hard not to love. She had long tight curly«glamour shot» hair and a glittery blue prom dress. A group had made a circle with their lounge chairs to make a mock dance floor. There were the predictable business men, the nicely dressed older couples from out of town, and the well behaved post sorority girl set. Almost everyone was dancing and smiling. The singer even walked back and serenaded me. She was beautiful. Thank God for straight bars. Food until midnight Dark library atmosphere
