June 6, 2016 Hands down my favorite gourmet burger joint and every time I go to one I think about branching out and trying something new, but the consistency that comes from my two favorites is really hard to top. The Classic Burger-Angus beef patty(cooked how you like it), topped with red leaf lettuce, white onion, beefsteak tomato and Sassy Sauce(a mayonnaise based sauce with hints of mustard) all on a freshly-baked bun. This burger really lives up to its name-it’s classic. The thickness of the patty is perfect enough to get the juicy meat but also not too thick to get everything you crave in that one perfect bite. Terlingua-Angus beef, Chile Con Carne, Tillamook cheddar, corn Fritos, Sassy Sauce, red leaf lettuce, white onion, beefsteak tomato all on a great homemade bun. This burger just overall reminds me of Texas. That great chili-cheese-frito combo mixed with the juicy meat definitely isn’t something you want to try to tackle on a first date, every other day it’s the real deal to bring you home. In addition to these masterfully crafted burgers, Hopdoddy also offers creatively ingenious sides and shakes. The Truffle Fries served with truffle aioli are really an addiction on their own, and dipped in the green chile queso, the Kennebec Fries turn practically sinful. For additional calories, make sure to try the Caramel & Sea Salt or Nutella & Chocolate Pretzel shake-I promise you won’t be disappointed. Next to try: Ahi Tuna Burger

Fairly close to Dallas Love Field Airport. Parking was easy to find, however it may be a problem closer to lunch time. Staff was friendly and curteous. Restaurant itself was clean and there was good seating. Gentleman at the front gives you a seat number, once you order they being the food to you. All the sodas are an organic natural soda, wished they had coke products but the lemon lime was just like a sprite. Order of fries was plenty for two people. You can order your burger to be cooked to the temp you prefer. Since it was my first time I got the classic with cheese and bacon. The bacon had a maple sweetness to it which was nice. My coworker order a buffalo burger and noted that it was juicy, which isn’t very common for buffalo. After finishing they clear the table for you. I look forward to retuning to try more of the menu and perhaps one of their shakes. Highly recommend this restaurant, a true gem for the Dallas area.

Delicious food, cool atmosphere, and excellent service. I don’t usually write Unilocal reviews but when one of the waiters accidentally threw away my unfinished plate after I went to refill my water, they not only compensated with a free meal but also offered me fries, which I never ordered. The waiting staff is uncharacteristically professional for a fast-casual restaurant! Kudos.

Great atmosphere, good friendly service, yummy food and great drinks. Continental club was delicious! Watermelon Mojito was awesome. Prices are not cheap but reasonable for the area. They have a burger they donate $ 1 with purchase to childhood cancer… love that.

One of the better gourmet burgers I’ve had. I ordered El Diablo and there was a good amount of heat in the burger. The bun was soft and the meat was cooked a perfect medium-medium well. It was slightly oilier than I would’ve liked. The truffle fries were excellent and the truffle aioli was probably the best part of the meal. The aioli had so much flavor and could’ve complimented everything I had. I do wish the fries weren’t shoestring fries, but that’s just a personal preference. Excellent service as well.

My hubby introduced me to this place shortly after moving to Dallas two years ago. While I was in line was offered a sample of their Nutella & Chocolate Pretzel shake. It’s been a year since then and I’ve been dreaming of it since. Not something I’d normally order, but I swore the next time I was pregnant I’d go get one. Seeing as I’m 9 months pregnant the timing couldn’t be better. My little man(2yrs old) and I set out on our field trip to enjoy fries, some meat and to conquer my year long craving for the Nutella & Chocolate Pretzel shake! We arrived around lunch and the parking wasn’t a nightmare. We walked right in with maybe 2 – 3 people in front of us, ordered right away and took a seat. My shake arrived immediately and OHMYGOODNESS it was far greater than I remembered or imagined. The fluffiness of the shake along with the wide straw made every sip perfection. My son’s kid’s meal(grilled cheese, fries & milk) arrived shortly after and he immediately dug into the fries. My Spinach & Arugula Salad arrived a bit after both, but looked yummy. So, overall good food, quality ingredients and an amazing shake. HOWEVER, it’s not the most convenient or wallet friendly burger place. It’s straight up expensive! — For the shake, my salad and a kids meal it cost me $ 33. — They have only two low tables which accommodate a high chair, thankfully one was open when we arrived, or I’d have been out of luck. — It’s not kid-friendly as you have to get all your own condiments, silverware, etc, which is not easy to do while holding your little one’s hand. Plus the highchair situation. — The kids meal was a decent portion, but the grilled cheese bread was really tough and he got about 5 – 6 bites out of the whole thing. — Once your food is delivered there are no servers so when I needed a box for my salad and son’s grilled cheese there was no one to be found. I couldn’t leave him at the table alone to go find someone and I didn’t want to leave all our stuff while hauling him up and out to find someone either. I probably won’t be back, but I might be tempted to order a shake to go in the future.

Hopdoddy satisfies the masses during the lunch rush. Had the primetime, which is far and away the fan favorite. A burger with truffle aioli with a side of Parmesan truffle aioli fries. Is it possible to have too much truffle? The answer is No, no it is not…

I like going to a place with a simple, easy to comprehend menu, that’s built around one concept, and that’s what Hopdoddy Burger Bar offers its customers. I ordered the El Diablo because I wanted a good dose of heat in my burger. The burger was delicious. The temperature was the way I wanted it, medium-well, the other components — from the pepper jack cheese to the caramelized onions, to the habanero & serrano chilies, and the chipotle mayo — all worked so well together, complemented each other and there wasn’t one thing that overpowered another. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, the bun, and the beef. The truffle fries were good, not too oily and seasoned very well. I really liked the dipping sauces. After last night’s experience, I’m definitely a fan, and I look forward to sampling some of the other burgers in the future.

This place is in a pretty cool location. Walked in and there were a few people lined up. We asked Josh at the bar regarding ordering and he explained us order first then sit down, but he can take the order at the bar too. So we decided to sit at bar and took our time looking through their menu. We started with the Vanilla Shake $ 5.50 «Ice cream milkshake are spun using cinnamon vanilla custard recipe and topped with real whipped cream» we both loved the shake great taste. We also ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries with Truffle Aioli $ 6.95, beyond fantastic taste, a must if you come here to eat. My wife ordered the Magic Shroom Buger $ 8.75, «Angus beef, Texas Goat Cheese, Field Mushrooms, Mayo, Basil Pesto, Red Leaf Lettuce, Whiter Onion, Beefsteak Tomato. Wow what a fantastic tasting burger cooked perfect, you can really taste the basil pesto! I ordered the Llano Plano Burger $ 8.50, «Angus Beef, Apple-Smoked Bacon, Tillamook Pepper Jack, Seared Pablano, Chipotle Mayo, Red Leaf Lettuce, White Onion, Beefsteak Tomato» it wasn’t too spicy just right and cooked perfect! Probably one of my favorite tasting burger. Total bill came to $ 32.15. I like the atmosphere of the place Josh was very friendly & really took great care of us from beginning to end.

Who knew there was a hopdoddy in Dallas. I’ve tried both locations in Austin and after seeing that there was one in Dallas, I started craving for it. There wasn’t much of a line, we waited for about 15 mins before getting a table. Our server was friendly, but rushing here and there because it was busy. OREOCOOKIESHAKE This shake was really sweet, but it was creamy and so good if you’re craving for something sweet or have a sweet tooth. I couldn’t finish the whole thing because it was so rich and heavy. TRUFFLEFRIES This was on point! I love truffles and this really hits the spot. The truffles were pre-dominant and you could really taste it in the fries. So good! AHITUNABURGER– sushi-grade tuna, sprouts, teriyaki, honey wasabi, nori chips, pickled ginger, mayo, red leaf lettuce, white onion, and beefsteak tomato I was disappointed in this burger. It didn’t live up to the locations in Austin. It tasted fresh, but the seasoning and taste was off. It wasn’t as flavorful and it was missing that OOMPH. The tuna was bland and there was way too much wasabi in it. so much so that it masked the other flavors in the burger. PRIMETIME– texas akaushi beef, brie cheese, arugula, caramelized onions, truffle aioli, steak sauce, and beefsteak tomato The beef was very tender and juicy. The cheese tasted very crisp and the arugula added a nice touch of earthiness to the burger, which counter balances the sweetness of the caramelized onions and the acidic tomato. If I’m craving for a burger and I’m in the area then I would stop by here, but I wouldn’t drive all the way here for Hopdoddy. I’ll stick to Austin for now and find different burger staples in Dallas.

You want creativity and deliciousness? Hopdoddy is your spot. When I saw it was a burger joint, I came with open arms. I didn’t however, expect to walk to such a progressive establishment that also happened to make a delicious burger. To start, all their meat is raised without antibiotics and hormones, and they specify that. Maybe the taste of the burger suffers since the effort is going into the meat quality? Nope, the burger was absolutely delicious. They have a menu consisting of unique burger combinations that will have you drooling. I had the goodnight burger, which consists of angus beef, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, caramelized onions, jalapeños, lettuce and tomato. It was as delicious as it sounds and the flavor seemed to change with every chew. I decided to be somewhat healthy and pair it with a side of quinoa, which was delicious as well. The restaurant is a large open space and has a order to table set up. Within 5 – 10 minutes of placing your order at the counter, it arrives at your table. Service is excellent and so are the employees who can recommend what you should get if you’re overwhelmed. Awesome place that I’ll definitely be back to!

Hopdaddy is a burger place that I like but I could live without. I have been a few times, one time in Austin and it was a fairly good experience. Since that is the first one there is ALWAYS a long line! My friend and I went right at 11am to make it before the line was long. This time around I went to the one off of Preston and Northwest Highway for my Fiancé’s birthday lunch with about 20 other people. Which granted is a lot of people, but the restaurant typically packed will have more than 20 people in the restaurant or in line. I told the hostess that we were willing obviously to split up in seating but would like to just like to stay close by each other. I tried to help the hostess with seating and pointing to tables that could work. The whole staff at the restaurant just seemed so stressed and I didn’t really understand why because I was helping and this is a BUSYRESTAURANTINGENERAL. So I don’t get why everyone got stressed out over a larger group when you ALWAYS have a lot of people at the restaurant. That is why I took off a few stars. The burgers were good, a bit greasy for my liking, but go figure it is a burger restaurant. They have a good variety of foods to have. I just would not recommend coming here with a BIG Group! Other than that the restaurant is fine.

Delicious, greasy, juicy burgers in the best way. Hopdoddy will satisfy your burger needs. Their milkshakes are also creamy and rich. I’m health-savvy, but even I can’t resist ordering both whenever I stop by. I haven’t had a single burger on the menu that I haven’t liked so far. This place gets very crowded, especially on the weekends. The line easily reaches the door and beyond during lunch and dinner hours. Another magical feature of this place though is the organization. Servers are taking your order and saving you a seat as you’re waiting in line, so you don’t have to worry about staking out a table after ordering. In addition, they serve milkshake and margarita samples(if you’re 21+, of course) to whet your appetite as you wait. Great service, amazing burgers!

The service is great. Per the recommendation I am having the poblano burger. The cheese is melted perfectly, the burger is a perfect medium, the grilled poblano is subtle and lingers. Even the bacon and lettuce are special. I also had the truffle fries which are incredibly flavorful and garlicky but not overpowering. There is no ketchup to be seen and none needed. I’m a little nervous what would happen if I asked for it? :). I can’t wait to come back. So, why 4 stars? The regular egg bun fell apart and couldn’t hold up to the burger. They have to know that– maybe the optional wheat bun would be better for this one. And those fantastic fries? I got fry tips. I got a ton of amazing delicious fries that couldn’t have averaged more than ½ an inch. I am coming back for the prime time burger. With all the high — end burger competition out there, I’m holding on to that 5th star until it’s so good you cry. It’s almost there

Hopdoddy is my favorite burger bar so far. I am not a big fan of burger(I don’t eat red meat) but you absolutely got me! La Bandita and Ahi tuna burger are my favorite ones hands down. They were delicious and generous that I have never had before. I also ordered the truffle fries. First time I had them and they were just so amazing. I think one serving was enough for two people. They have milkshake on the menu, I ordered their Red Velvet milkshake. It was so good with red velvet cakey in the shake. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Relax, clean, organized, and chill. You can definitely hang out with your family and friends. Price and portion are reasonable. Good choice for lunch and dinner. Service was awesome. The staffs were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back and this place is always on the list to take people from out of town.

Our order was simple: beer, spiked milkshake, and Parmesan truffle fries. Misunderstand not, my friends, this five star review is for the truffle fries. After devouring our first basket of fries, I desperately and borderline pathetically tried to find an excuse to order more. «But what if we die tomorrow and this is our last meal?!» «What are the chances I can convince the bartender these fries were actually two for one?» «…No, you’re right, that’s crazy. Hold my engagement ring first.» And although fajita fiancé was not so pleased with that last idea, he secretly ordered a second basket while I was in the ladies room. So dear Unilocal world, I highly encourage you to order the Parmesan truffle fries. Disappointment will not be found, as pure deliciousness fills your belly.

Great service, good prices, delicious and efficient! When you walk in grab a menu. They’ll assign you a seat when you order! Drinks are self serve and they clean up after for you when you’re done. This is one of my favorite burger place in Texas! Highly recommend the ahi tuna burger if you like sushi. I usually only like raw salmon but they make this so well that it doesn’t taste fishy at all. Exclude wasabi if you don’t like that taste. Order truffle fries! Enough for 3 people, I promise it’s that big. It’s so freaking good. It is a must have!

Whatever you think you know about burgers — get ready to get your mindhole blown. These guys at Hopdoddy are about to drop some serious dimes of burger wisdom. No words really describe just awesome this place is. You have to experience it. I’d highly recommend the Magic Shroom(angus beef, goat cheese, mushrooms, mayo, and basil pesto) and the El Diablo(pepper jack, caramelized onions, habanero & serrano chiles, salsa roja, chipotle mayo), but you really can’t go wrong. There will probably be a line to the door, which seems awful(cuz it is), but they seem to have struck the perfect balance between waiting in line & time spent at the table. By the time you make your way through the line to order, you’ll have a table. I don’t know how they do it. Even then, you’re probably only looking at 10 – 15 minute wait in line tops. It’s totally worth it. The real takeaway: Get any burger, get any beer, and for the love of God, get the truffle fries. Boom. You’re welcome.

Hands down my favorite burger place. Hopdoddy is what I miss when I’m away from home(well, besides my mom’s cooking, of course). The burgers are yummy. I’ve had a few(don’t forget to add an egg!), but my favorite is the Greek. As weird as it sounds, even when I’m craving a burger, I’m always searching for something that’s not too heavy. The Greek burger fits the bill perfectly. The ingredients are really well balanced, and each bite exudes freshness. The truffle fries are great as well. I love love love the aioli it comes with. Just don’t order a serving for yourself – it’s a healthy serving that’s a great size for sharing. Even better than the burgers, you CAN’T come to Hopdoddy’s without ordering a milkshake. This is what dreams are made of, guys. Every single one I’ve tried is fantastic, but my favorite has to be the nutella & chocolate pretzel. I’m absolutely in love with the bits of chocolate pretzel that add so much to the texture and really elevate the milkshake to a drool-worthy level. It can get pretty busy in the evenings, especially on the weekends, but you can much better appreciate the beauty of a Hopdoddy burger in the daytime anyways. You can also call and order ahead for pick-up, but come on – why would you do that? These things are best enjoyed the second they touch the table. Just writing this review made me hungry. Clearly I’m due for a visit soon.
