Food and service consistently spectacular. Been there probably 50 times and never had a single negative experience.

Always consistent and always good! The quality of service and food is always above average in my opinion. The staff is efficient, attentive and always smiling. I love their food, and even though other restaurants may have more sushi selections, I have always been happy with what we order. And their pulled pork sandwich is a pretty amazing sandwich for a place that ranges from deviled eggs to sushi. I want to add that they went above and beyond after a minor issue on one of our orders, and it was much appreciated. We will be back for sure.

The chicken meatballs were the amazing! This place is super fun, great location, and good for groups. Too bad I live in Austin but hope to visit again when I am back in town.

This restaurant let’s the ingredients do the talking! Everything here tastes SO good! The first time I came here the chef came out and talked to us about food for like 10 minutes. Loved that! Try the sushi before you try everything else. I can’t wait to go back and order one of the things I haven’t tried here yet!

I was very excited to try R+D Kitchen, specifically a couple of things from the sushi menu. But I was sorely disappointed. Here’s what their website says about the Dallas location for Sushi: «Start off with deviled eggs, chicken meatballs or something from our extensive sushi menu.» There’s nothing«extensive» about it. When we asked about a particular roll, our waitress let us know that they no longer were serving the roll in question, nor another roll. So we asked for another minute to review. We tried to order the Salmon, but it also was unavailable. That should have told us to switch to something else, but that’s what we had wanted… so we ordered the Rainbow Roll. Guess what. There was not any salmon on it. It was a very disappointing experience, after reading such positive things. Our waitress was very good, however. That to me is an important aspect of the restaurant experience.

Lousy service minus getting water filled everytime I took a sip… Food was decent but standard fare. It’s a cool setup of a restaurant but I don’t think I would make my way over here unless someone else wanted to go for drinks. Maybe the service will be attentive next time.

This is my second time going to R+D Kitchen and I really wish I could love it more, but it is just okay for me. To start my husband and I ordered two glasses of wine, a cocktail, deviled egg app, the chicken spaghetti and the salmon. The bill was $ 130 with tip. The thing I love about it is the location and atmosphere! Also the deviled egg app is yummy, but sadly that is about it. Each time we have gone we have had very ‘meh’ service which the second time bordered on poor. The food itself is okay, but definitely not great, I think they are known for their sushi, but it is so expensive($ 16 – 18) a roll that we have never ordered it. All in all, I think this place would be a skip if you’re considering it!

I really like the jicama that they add to the spicy tuna roll. It works well. I ordered the blackened trout, which was a special. It was very very good. They did a great job at seasoning it. It wasn’t overbearing as blackened fish sometimes can be.

Wow, this place is off the charts delish! Super flavorful dishes with a twist. I’ve been here twice with my parents for lunch and we were blown away both times. My dad is a very critical and picky eater, so when he asked if we could go back when they came into town I was pleasantly surprised! But I of course obliged. The rubenesque and the carnitas sandwich are so flavorful. The meatball appetizer is also great. My dad and I get the 2 sandwiches I mentioned and go halfsies so we can enjoy both! My mom got the fish both times and loved it. The atmosphere is nice and open, and the service is great. The sandwiches are a la carte so we got fries for the table both times. The spicy mayo and thousand island dipping sauces added a nice flare to the fries, and even the peppered ketchup made it all just a little more special and unique. This place is a must try.

tldr; Need a light meal, amazing ambiance and sensational service? This is it! Get the Asian chicken noodle salad and ask for extra sauce on the side. What I got: Asian chicken noodle salad * Well dressed cold noodles with a light vinaigrette. The mixture of mangos, cucumbers and bountiful fresh herbs made this incredible. The chicken was also super tender, well seasoned and there’s a healthy amount of it! There’s also a large wedge of lettuce on the side if you’re feeling like you need your greens. I cut this up and tossed it with the salad since I like my dressing light. Personally I found the dressing amount to be just right but you can ask for dressing on the side and add on however much you like. * Another important note is that I was super full that I couldn’t even finish this so I took it home and it was as good the next day as it was the first. Everything tasted super fresh and because this isn’t an all-greens salad there wasn’t much to wilt. Will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes. One thing to note is that the menu is a small and has light fare so don’t come here if you’re looking for something hearty like a steak meal.

This is the kind of restaurant that you hear about through word of mouth. It’s in a great area(since sprinkles is a minute away) but very hard to find. Unilocal came through once again and I was able to find this gem. I came for dinner on a Friday night and it was such a lovely decision. The décor and dim lighting in the restaurant is very appealing and a perfect date spot. There are candles on each table and it’s a nice intimate setting. All their seating except the bar are booths which is perfect and very comfortable. Food: We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer and it was my first time trying deviled eggs. Shocker right? I loved it! Next I ordered the carnitas sandwich and my BF ordered the ruebenesque sandwich. They were both spectacular. I loved the slaw and moist meat in the carnitas sandwich and the BBQ sauce on the side was delicious. The rye bread and corned beef was sooo freakin good. If I had to pick one, that would be my favorite sandwich. The sandwiches don’t come with fries or anything which was honestly a little surprising. Nonetheless, it was completely worth the price.

It’s hard to beat this place. The menu is small and you think wow there isn’t much here but instead of having 40 things on the menu and doing them ok, they have a small menu and do it really really well. First off it might seem odd, but the sushi rolls are outstanding. Love their spicy tuna roll. It’s not cheap but it’s to good. I can’t come here and not get it. The cheeseburger is great. So flavorful. The carnitas sandwich is ridiculous. I’m sure everything else is great too. Chocolate sundae is great. Apparently the carrot cake is amazing although I don’t believe carrot should be turned into a cake ;) This place is packed on the weekend so make a reservation. Great bar with lots of seating but again this place gets really full. Been here a few time and I can’t wait to go back.

R+D has a special place in my heart. When I come here I always know I’m going to be served quality food and spectacular service. I really enjoy the veggie burger. It has the right amount of texture and isn’t mushy at all. The Reuben sandwich is spectacular. It’s stacked with layers of pastrami between two pieces of rye. Yum. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the sushi. We tried the coconut shrimp, some roll with macadamia nuts, and a salmon like tower. I found the sushi to be pressed too hard which in turn releases extra starches that are not appealing to my tastebuds. The texture is just weird. If you’re curious about the sushi, you would try the salmon tower inspired roll(not sure what it’s called on the menu) or the seared tuna roll.

It’s been a couple years since I last visited R+D. I used to frequent this spot a lot for work lunches but am rarely in the area now. However, this week I had a coworker fly into Love Field around lunch so I took the opportunity to stop by. Not much has changed… And that is a good thing. R+D is still a popular lunch spot with relatively little seating– expect a half hour wait at noon. They do have a small counter overlooking the kitchen where individuals can be seated quickly. There is also a bar with open seating; I would guess that has about 2 dozen seats, of which maybe a revolving quarter of were available during the hour I was there. The menu is brief but there is still something everyone will enjoy. I deviated from my normal sandwich order and tried the seared ahi tuna Mediterranean salad. WOW! Hands down the best ahi salad I’ve ever had. The tuna steak was PERFECTLY cooked with a delicious peppered crust. And the vinaigrette provided an amazing blend of acidity with a hint of sweetness. Although busy, the service is friendly, attentive, and professional. Throw in drink, tax, and tip and expect to spend $ 20 – 30 per person.

My fiancé and I ate at R+D Kitchen a couple of days ago, after meaning to visit for over a year. Initially we were put off by how small the menu was, but we soon learned that, in terms of this menu, size doesn’t matter. We started off our culinary adventure with devilishly good deviled eggs. All my Yoncé could say was, «Now that is what a deviled egg should taste like.» For dinner I ordered the mushroom meatloaf with brussel sprouts and«pomme purée»(AKA mashed tatoes, people) and he got the fried fish and subbed the coleslaw for brussels, as well. We both loved our dinners and kept snagging bites off of one another’s plate. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere. The architecture of this building is just really pleasant to look at. So, all in all, A+, 5 stars, bravo. I’d expect nothing less from a restaurant linked to Houston’s/Hillstone!

Sometimes I think 3 stars gets a bad rap. Our dining was a-ok. We came on a Wednesday night and didn’t have to wait for a table. We opted to share a few apps and then order individual entrees. To start we had the deviled eggs, thai tuna and seared tuna. Everyone has deviled egg on their menu now– I’m kind of over it. The thai tuna had macadamia nuts in it for a good crunch and used soy paper. It had nice flavor and even one of our diners that doesn’t like sushi enjoyed it. The seared tuna had a fruit and veggie salad in the middle with hunks of mango, jalapeño, jicama and cucumber. I enjoyed that more than the roll. For dinner I had the filet and it was delicious. There was a good sear on the steak and just enough salt. That steak was the best thing I ate all night. For dessert we shared the carrot cake. It was not good– it tasted as if it had dried out? Perhaps it was pre-sliced? Service was really great. I liked the restaurant and it’s décor. We had an enjoyable meal. The food was just hit or miss.

We came here for lunch after the lunch rush. The ambience is very causal and I loved it. We started of with cocktails and make sure you ask Matt from the bar to make it. I ordered the Casper which was very light and refreshing. Matt really knows how to cater to your liking! Hector ended up being our waiter and he was awesome. I mean he paid attention to details which I’ll talk about in this review. I ordered the tuna sandwich for lunch. My husband ordered the carnitas sandwich. My tuna sandwich was really good as it came with Havarti cheese. The tuna was really fresh and the mayo wasn’t overpowering. Even the lettuce was very fresh and crispy. I was able to try a bite of the carnitas sandwich and it was fantastic. You don’t even need extra sauce with it. We were able to sample the queso pimento cheese with their fresh chips. OMG, great concept for the queso pimento cheese. I’ve never had that before and it was really good. The chips here were really fresh, not greasy at all, and perfectly salted. You need to try the queso here! We were also able to try the deviled eggs which came with their sweet relish. I’ve never had a sweet relish in deviled eggs and it was really good. We ended our meal with Carrot Cake. This had to be the best carrot cake ever. I mean it was so freaking moist and there were walnuts on it. The frosting was a cream cheese frosting and it was so good. The banana cream pie we were able to try was decent too but that carrot cake made me happy. We definitely enjoyed our experience here. Hector was so attentive. He even switched out the glass my husband was drinking out of into a cold one to keep his cocktail cold. Paying attention to things like that was just top notch and never seen anywhere else. We’re definitely going to be regulars here.

6 years I have had a love affair with R+D. Different days, different times, dates, friends, meetings. Staff is on Point. Exceptional Service Always. This spot is perfection.(Other than the parking and the almost 30 somethings that have aged poorly along with their attitudes.) Let me help you, put this place on rotation. Yes it is a Hillstone Concept and Yes that location is in the same Square.(The other going up in Highland Park Village will primarily be a bar, so stoked) Here is how to Menu. Devil Eggs, Check! Pine Room Salad, Check! Sushi, Absolutely, Check! I am not a lover of cooked fish but I think they make love to the salmon before they bring it to you bc I have to uncross my legs it makes me so happy, I mean, Check! Brussel Sprouts all day, Check! If you want to live on the dangerous side of life, mix your hot lightly coated fatted up B Sprouts with your Pine Room Salad and let the fig date action heat up and bite on that. You are welcome! I am usually on a Hot Tea with Lemon Sipping bc of money conversations, but I have hopped on the Vino here… um Yes. The Bar is Perfect for Two, Sushi or Beverage. If you slide into a booth enjoy the look on on the dining room and the overhang of the wood. It is a little noisy in here, but hey, when you know, you know.

I recently went to R+D for a girls night dinner and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and ambiance is super cute and all of their food looks delicious. They have huge portions and I was more than full(in fact my girlfriends went to sprinkles ice cream after and I couldn’t get anything because I was too full. Very sad…). I got the carnitas sandwich, delightful. My girlfriends got the rib special(divine) and some salad with goat cheese. The goat cheese was so good, she asked the waiter to get the name of the cheese(chevre). So the food quality and service were above par! The only star deduction is for their inaccurate estimate of wait time(45 min? More like 1.5 hours…) and lack of cocktail menu. They only have a beer menu but tell you they can make any cocktail you want. So I asked for their specialty, which turned out to be a $ 14 pomegranate martini! I feel the drink was kind of pricey and since they don’t have a cocktail menu, they can just charge whatever. Boo!

I came here for lunch on Saturday and ordered the Greek style chicken. It was amazing! The portion was huge and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Everything about it was awesome. As an appetizer, my friend and I split the chips and dip. It comes with guacamole and a «chilled queso». The queso was a hunk of cheese that was deliciously spicy! We loved it! Service was very attentive. Our waitress always made sure that our cups were filled and brought us extra chips when we ran out! She was awesome!
