I have been to this restaurant on several prior occasions & had a great experience. However, this past Saturday was a different story! I made a reservation for 4 at 7:00 for seating at a hibachi grill. When we arrived, the hostesses were great — extremely friendly. However, the man who took our reservation failed to note the seating at a hibachi grill. This was the case for another large group that walked in & several others. It was completely unorganized. We were asked to sit at a regular table but not an option as I had my 2 young sons which is why we came to the restaurant — for the experience. Finally, we were seated & they have obviously made rearrangements to the tables since the last time we were there. There was no atmosphere & it had the feeling of hibachi grill fast food or, better yet, the hibachi grill version of the Golden Corral! Sitting right next to the waiter’s station, the bathroom & the kitchen. All in one — how lovely when you are dropping the money we did. The chef was fun — felt rushed though. It seemed as though he was ready to finish quickly. Plates & glasses stacked up… The food was decent. Such a disappointment after having so many nice experiences? New owners? New management? Whatever it may be — please consider reconfiguring the tables as they were originally placed to avoid feeling as though we are crammed into a small location. Move the 2 grills away from the waiter — bathroom — kitchen! There is an entire area in the corner being unused & looked like storage area! There use to be hibachi tables here — our favorites because it was tucked away! And, please work on your reservation system!

My girlfriend and I were here a couple weeks ago for a friend’s birthday. We received a friendly greeting, and the host proceeded to hype up the service and hibachi chefs as «the best around» and how competitors«opened up a place across the street just to get some of their business.» This set the tone for a fun experience, and we excitedly took our seats to wait for the rest of our party to arrive. We get seated at the table by the host and are asked to move by a waitress in order to properly configure their table. No biggie, we just shrugged it off; little did we know this disorganization would continue to plague us throughout an incredibly long meal. Our drink orders were taken by a waiter and he walked away. Five minutes later, another waitress walked by and asked if they had been taken, we said yes and she left. Our friends arrive and their drink orders get put in, and we all have drinks. Now we hang out and talk for another 20 minutes as we wait for our food orders to be taken. At this point, about 30 minutes have passed since the arrival of friends and our orders are finally taken. Soup and salad comes out about 5 mins later(the usual at places like this; orange dressing on the salad, simple miso soup) and then the chef, who has been hyped so intensely, finally rolls his cart our way. Now, I’ll cut the hibachi chef a little slack, he may have been new, but overall his performance and enthusiasm were substantially underwhelming. He messed up several of the«tricks» that I have seen numerous chefs ace with little difficulty, all while giving off the vibe that he didn’t want to be there. All of this after all of that hype? Come on guys! The food was fine, nothing to write home about, but it does not excuse the gross organizational issues and disappointing service. Tack on a total meal time in excess of 2 hours(on a TUESDAY night no less) and 1 star is being generous.

Let me start off by saying I really wanted to give this place 4 stars however, I waiter dropped the fire sticks, and really made a few fumbles that could have been dangerous. Let me also say, if you are a Benihana’s fan, this is NOT Benihanas, and has a different taste to it. Now with that being out of the way, I decided to hold my birthday dinner here, so it was me and 12 friends. The price was actually not to bad. The food itself was pretty tasty. I am personally a fan of the«Yummy-Yummy» sauce. So my review is more on the wait staff, we had two different waiters and two cooks, and I can say that one of each was good, and one of each acted like it was their firs day. I mean the waiter, wasted a drink behind me and two of my friends, got i on her clothes and his blazer. The cook dropped the fire sticks right in my friend face, scared the life out of her. Now understand I know accidents happen, so we are forgiving, but it sure did seem like they needed a little bit more practice. I come to hibachi for the show along with the food, and the show was kinda lack luster… However they have a great bar, great drinks great atmosphere, especially to meet with friends and have a good time.

The cook only slapped the cook surface a few times and little some oil on fire, don’t expect any show of skill other than cooking for your evening with under seasoned food. Even with our reservation we had to weight 20 minutes to be seated. We didn’t have a bad evening but all and all I was very underwhelmed with food and service and don’t plan on coming back to try it out again.

My date and I visited Hibashi Teppan Grill on a Friday night at 7:00pm. When we walked in there were only two other couples in the entire restaurant. We should have known that this was not a good sign on a Friday night! The hostess and waiter were nice enough and we ordered the Tempura Sampler and one of their grilled combination dinners of beef filet and salmon. With few people at the restaurant we were quickly served our salad and miso soup. Both the salad and soup were alright. The waiter then brought our entrees, but unfortunately they had prepared for us the chicken and salmon combination. As I am not a picky eater, I told them this was fine and proceeded to eat the main course. The tempura was very bland and you could tell that it was not freshly prepared. The tempura sauce tasted like water… no flavor at all. The scallops and calamari were tough(rubbery) as well as the vegetables. Honestly, the food reminded me of a TV dinner. Dull and flavorless having spent way too much time frozen in the freezer. Unfortunately, the chicken and salmon were no better. The grilled chicken consisted of tiny nuggets that were very over cooked and dry. The salmon was two very thin strips of fish that had a very strong and unpleasant flavor. Definitely not fresh! Really, this is the type of meal you would expect to find at a food court at a low priced mall. Definitely not the type of dinner you hope to receive for $ 60. I will not be going back and would NOT recommend this restaurant. Steven S., thank you for your response. I only wish you would pay as much attention to the food in your restaurant as you do to responding to reviews on Unilocal. As I mentioned in my previous review, neither my date nor I are picky eaters. We are not complainers, but the food we were served was of poor quality, very over cooked, and definitely not fresh. Improving the quality of food and how it is prepared will do more to help the restaurant’s business than attempting to defend the indefensible!

We live @ Broadstone Parkway so it was nice to know residents have happy hour items and prices that you can’t go wrong with. Stopped in around 7 pm and was surprised for a Friday Night it would be so empty. Regardless we enjoyed the food and appreciated the wonderful bartender, Emilo throughout our meal. Will come back again!

First off some of the sushi is great, if you’re willing to wait a while. I don’t typically do these reviews and I’m more forgiving than most when orders are wrong, but this happens too often not to let someone know. Ordering lunch to go should be a quick process, especially when they only have about 3 – 5 tables and you call ahead in advance to place the order. When calling in and placing the order with the hostess you would think they have an idea of what is on the menu, they don’t so you better know exactly what you are ordering, what it comes with and double check when you receive the to go order. I have placed many orders to go during lunch and let it slide when 9 out of 10 times the order was incorrect. I thought maybe they had new staff still learning the menu, I was wrong. Each time I call in they quote me a time which is about 15 – 20 minutes. Last week(and many other times) I wait the allotted time before evening leaving to pick the order up. I then have to wait an additional 30 minutes to an hour before my order is ready. I have learned to check before leaving. My last visit they brought me 3 different wrong orders before bringing the correct one. It wasn’t just one small item that was wrong, the entire meal. I politely ask for the correct one but this is unacceptable. Lunch time management doesn’t seem to have a grasp on dealing well with guests or how to solve issues that come around. They need to make sure the front of the house employees know the menu, at least the basics. I don’t think I should have to explain the menu to the employee that is taking my order. This is so unfortunate because the sushi is awesome! I don’t blame the employees as much as I blame the management, they are not following through with their job to ensure all employees understand and know the material. I DONT recommend trying this out for your first time during lunch, allow some time to be taken care of as it takes much longer than a standard hour lunch break. I am only giving two stars because like I have mentioned, I do enjoy the food.

Stopped by here on a trip to Dallas. It was pretty early on Friday(about 6 pm) so we got seated and served pretty quickly. Our waitress, Yuna, was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive to our table and very kind to my four-year-old son. My son cleared his plate of salmon sushi in about a minute, and the bibimbap I ordered was really, really good! Stellar food and service. Would definitely come back when we’re in town.

Good portions, elegant presentation, and so delicious! We enjoyed the Rich Roll, Ahi Tower(double yum) and the Lobster Roll. Service was quick and so was the kitchen. We dined on a Thursday night.

I ordered delivery from here tonight.(A Monday night and I live two blocks away.) I probably should have just picked it up, but oh well. Delivery took two hours and the food was tilted on its side and a mess. Perhaps this cuisine is best reserved for dine in only. I will try stopping in sometime I suppose, but will not attempt the delivery option again. In addition, out of the three rolls I ordered, one was pretty good, one was average, and one I threw away. To top it off, what I paid $ 60 bucks for looked like it should have been a fraction of that at least. Guess you live and learn. Again, the one that was good was really good. I just wish I had gotten more than just one really good sushi roll after spending $ 60 and waiting two hours.

We were visiting Dallas and wanted to go to this restaurant. The owner said the restaurant was no longer seating when it said on their sign outside that it closes at 10. When we told him this, they said their phone policy was not to anyone after 9:15pm. We look at our phones and see it is 9:16 on the dot and tell him this. He rolls his eyes and said fine but we decided not to be seated given his attitude. Avoid this place and go to the other places there are to eat in Dallas.

I came here today with coworkers for lunch and had terrible service. The waiter forgot our beverages, and then brought out our bento boxes without the rice because it was not ready, however he never brought it out nor did he check on us. It took forever to get our final check. The food is subpar, so mixed with bad service we will not be back.

I’ve returned to Hibashi with some friends, and we had a really great time! The teppanyaki chef was really entertaining and funny, and he cooked my shrimp and steak perfectly! We also ordered some sushi appetizers, and the fish was really fresh! We were very impressed, and we will be back shortly! :)

I am not sure how the food even tastes. It wasn’t very busy when my co-workers and I went in for a quick lunch as mentioned on their menu. Once seated we waited over 30 minutes and the chef had still not come to our table. We had been served our soup. As most professionals there is a time restraint for lunch and we were reaching our limit. We asked to pay for the soup and we would be on our way. The waiter was nice enough to cover that for us. On our way out the same waiter informed us that it takes 45 minutes for the chef to even come out and cook. Not very lunch friendly.

I like the new look and energy. Good crowd. Nice lighting. Fun atmosphere. I just want the bartenders to have a good memory when they go around you ask everyone for their drink orders lol. They took too long. So we’ll see if they improve next time.

My husband and I went here and had a great time. I read some of the reviews here and I’m shocked. The sushi was excellent. We sat at the sushi bar and asked the sushi chef to surprise us. He did a fantastic job. All 3 rolls were phenomenal. Our waitress was great! We got home and couldn’t stop talking about how good those rolls were. Our favorite sushi to date. This was our first visit but certainly won’t be our last. Had I read the Unilocal reviews on here first, like I usually do, we wouldn’t have enjoyed such a great dinner.

Came here for dinner last night with my wife, in all honesty this place reminds me exactly of Benihana, from the food to the cooks to the tricks they did while cooking! The food itself tasted great, I had an order of the teriyaki chicken whilst my wife had some sushi, we also shared some spicy edamame. As far as the ambience goes this place is definitely trying to be more upscale and modern in comparison to your traditional hibachi grill, the place has little to no light and they play techno music!

Under new management! Manager was nice enough to come up to us personally and asked how the food was. Nice atmosphere. Hibashi chef not too entertaining but food made up for it lol chef was more into watching TV then entertaining us. He was messy when he cooked our food. Wasted a lot of rice and took a chunk off of my steak! Then just saw the same chef at a different grill and is actually interacting with the customers! Ugh. Oh well.

This place reminds me of chaucers, so I’m already not a fan. There was a groupon, so the food deal was better, but I’ll be upfront, the food/service/environment doesn’t move me to come back here, especially with the plentiful options surrounding the area. Got a salmon roll, tuna roll and an avalanche roll. The Avalanche is decent but too saucy. It’s topped with seaweed of all kinds. Tuna and salmon seemed ok, not the freshest, but not terrible. Waitress was nice, but didn’t check on us enough. I think it took about 10 – 15 minutes to even get our order put in(and it wasn’t busy). There were guys walking around with ladders which was a little unprofessional. Understood if it was pressing, but I didn’t see a water leak or a fire or something fall, just random people on ladders for no good reason. There were strobe lights like a club. Maybe it turns into one later, not sure, but it was inappropriate during dinner. Otherwise, ok. Average, but so many other better sushi places! The groupon was a save because I probably wouldn’t come here without it!
