Worst Customer Service Imaginable. I’ve never written a review before… First, let me say that I was a loyal customer to Drytech cleaners for almost 5 yrs. For the first 2.5, there was a nice lady who ran the location and spoke to customers like friends. She was wonderful. Her mix of responsibility and empathy always smoothed things over and was a big reason why I remained a loyal customer.(note: there are plenty of cheaper dry cleaners out there, but for me Drytech’s location is very convenient). Then, a couple years ago, she was suddenly gone. I should have realized that customer service effectively left with her. The next 2 yrs i continued to go to Drytech by default and rec’d robotic service from a couple girls whose phone calls i always seemed to be interrupting. During this time, there were incidents. I was once told that i could get my clothes back w/in the day and when i showed up later and they werent ready. Instead of apologizing, the same short, bespectacled girl with the ever present phone, simply said,“same day never guaranteed” -«You come back tomorrow,» she said with her hand against her phone waiting for me to leave. Why not simply say I’m sorry? or offer a discount? Shouldnt be a big deal when someone spends at least $ 80 a month — right? wrong. still, i go to the cleaners to get clothes cleaned and i stuck with them for 2 yrs despite their service… but one thing always bothered me, if you have a small hole in a shirt or a pair of pants in a place that is not visible when worn and you tell them about said spot, they will sometimes not clean the item and just return it back to you. It is a variant of this policy that is the reason i’m writing this review. See, drycleaners have a legit reason for not accepting pre-damaged clothes. If they clean it and increase the damage or if the customer was not aware of the damage in the first place, they are liable. It makes sense. However, Drytech uses this defensive policy like a weapon. I will only describe the SECOND time this happened and the reason i am no longer a customer. I have a few favorite shirts that i know very well. I dropped 1 of them off with other items to be cleaned and then came to pick it up a few days later. When i picked my stuff up, my shirt had not been cleaned and the lady said that i had dropped it off damaged. Imagine my surprise when she showed me a hole in the shirt’s shoulder that I’m 99% sure was not there when i dropped it off. She immediately began arguing with me telling me that it was my fault in front of 2 other customers. As usual, this lady was the only person working at their store. [please keep in mind that i work in an office and that drycleaning is probably the most destructive process by a long shot that my clothes experience] She said that they found the hole and separated it from the other clothes. Then she played the card that Drytech always plays in this situation: «you check videotape with me!» Of course! That’s just what every customer wants to do. Hold up two other people(and any other new patron) while sitting down next to a stranger in a drycleaning store to watch grainy footage which probably wont tell you anything anyway. The NFL has 8 cameras to review plays and they still get them wrong– but Drytech’s 1 camera footage is sure to be conclusive for a small hole in a shirt! I asked her if there was any possibility that this shirt could have been damaged by them between me handing off my clothes and this«check» –which of course the camera would not have picked up –and she ignored me and exhorted me to watch tape. I also asked what should be done if they had damaged the shirt in the last cleaning and i somehow hadnt noticed? no answer, just«watch tape.» Meanwhile, the customers behind me are getting furious — and I dont blame them.
Because they essentially had me over a barrel with my choices, i decided to cut my losses and just leave. What can you do in a situation like that? I should have just stayed away, but out of sheer laziness, a few weeks later I showed up to Drytech to drop some items off. When I put my stuff on the counter, the short rude girl started in on me. «we know about you. You don’t trust us. We are not sure we want you as a customer.» I thought I was hallucinating. I repeated my same argument about the various possibilities that could have occurred to cause a hole in my shirt and instead of acknowledging any of them as being legit, she asked me what my problem was and why I wouldn’t watch the tape? I said that I couldn’t understand why she was raising her voice and why a simple store credit wasn’t offered when I have been a loyal customer for 4.5 years and had a bad experience? She said that I was a bad customer and that I made trouble and again asked me to watch the tape. At that point, I took my laundry and left. I will never set foot inside this establishment again and I hope that no one else will either.

Wow. What a truly horrible experience. I have been to this DryTech location several times and each time with more disappointing results than before. It’s a great location and very close to my work so I was willing to forgive minor issues for the sake of convenience. Then my first shirt came back still stained after I was completely reassured that the stain would come out. Whelp shirt ruined, charged for it as if it were clean, but move on. Until it happened again. And again. Three total times. Three shirts ruined. The final straw was they did not clean my wife’s dress after she dropped it off to be cleaned. It was there for a week yet no call was made to inform us of their perplexing decision. It wasn’t simply misplaced either(also scary). They made a conscious decision not to clean it, which they told us about very rudely when we came to collect our clothing. Which brings me to my final point: The customer service here is HORRIBLE. They do not communicate well, are abruptly rude and make no effort at earning and maintaining business. Save yourself the time, money, clothing and aggravation and go somewhere else. And shame on me for returning to get burned so many times.

This place is the mostly poorly run dry cleaners I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. The young lady who runs the front desk and manages the store is rude and shows no regard for her customers whatsoever. I dropped off a simple cotton dress with a stain which she said could be removed. When I picked it up the stain was as bad as it was when I dropped it off. When I asked her about it and requested a discount she offered $ 2 — the total order was $ 115 and I was charged $ 15 for the stained dress! Great location, but TERRIBLE customer service, and these places are a dime a dozen in Uptown — I’d expect more from the most expensive place in town, short of a concierge service. I would normally only take the time to write up a place if it was great but this place was so bad, it deserved the 10 extra mins so others don’t suffer the same!
