I highly recommend sitting at the main bar and getting service from Lindsay and Kelly! They are great and will take great care of you. Food is inexpensive and good. Parking is tough as it is on McKinney but if you go on Sundays, you can usually find a place.

My husband and I visited during happy hour. The margaritas taste like virgins. my opinion. They run out of meat, cheese and chip at the free nacho bar and it takes them a while to restock. Our waitress had a black eye and horrible looking teeth and they really should not allow her to serve customers looking like that. This location also has horrible parking. Simply put, just find another place to enjoy happy hour.

We’ll start off with the service. Julia was awesome. Chips and salsa were good. The salsa was hot and spicy. For me it lacked a bit of salt but really like the lime taste. Chips were also good, thin and crispy and the best part was Julia always stopping by with a huge scoop full of fresh chips. I ordered the Elvis Presley and by far the best enchilada had to be the chicken. I think they are my new go to plate at Chuy’s. Al the other enchiladas were ok. Rice was a «nope» while the beans neither good nor bad. Sad to hear they had no drafts I opt for a strawberry mojito which was good but I felt I lacked something. Over all on the food alone I would have given this place a 3 star but the fourth stat was for the service.

Exterminator Needed!!! This was my favorite Chuy’s! The food always had more flavor and was prepared better than other locations in the area… However, on my last trip, two days ago, there were bugs everywhere! I saw a roach on the floor in the dining area, flies in the bathroom(not the first time) and a huge ant crawl across the mirror in the bathroom… Can you say ewwwww? It totally breaks my heart, but I’m too turned off to go back :(

My family arrived here for some much needed Mexican food having just came from the air port from our vacation, the waitress was a complete«see you next Tuesday» she dropped our chips all over our table. When we got our food it looked pretty good, but my first problem was the silver ware. It was dirty and the second set we received after having to flag down yet another server was just as bad. At this point I was getting a little upset. Next problem was the refried beans, they were scorched, tasted like… My enchiladas were simply the worst. They were dry and rubbery. Our waitress never showed up. I called for the manager and he informed us that their food was the best, I don’t think he knows what good Mexican food is supposed to taste like but he was a stand up guy and covered our meal

For some reason, I prefer going to the Chuy’s in Plano. This Uptown location needs a little pick me up. The booths are old and the tables never seem clean when I sit down. As far as the food, it’s never disappointed me. I am always in the mood to visit there again after writing this review. It’s been about a year since I’ve been due to being turned off, but I won’t blame it on the food because the food has always been good. My favorite is the appetizer sampler. It’s the perfect selection to share with someone else! They also have a HH during the week.

Stopped for lunch — won’t be stopping here again — If you get my expression. The food here is not very good. Decorations are nice. Festive place. Plus, the drinks are overpriced. Oh well, easy come — and there you go.

This is my favorite go-to spot for Tex Mex in Dallas. It’s cheap, it’s yummy, it’s festive, and the portions are generous. I love their thin tortilla chips(complementary) and their white sauce(that you have to ask for). My go-to dish there is their chile relleno and enchilada combo. You have a choice of meat and sauce. I typically go with chicken and their tomatillo sauce. Since moving from Texas, it’s always a spot I try to go to when I’m in town.

I went here for chips, queso, and drinks. Ended up getting dessert too. Everything tasted great. We sat outside and enjoyed the Dallas weather. The waiter was a bit slow but I don’t think that needs to effect this rating. The décor of the building is very neat and it’s in a cute area of town. I would recommend this place for dates, families, or parties.

I usually love Chuy’s all over the whole state, but this one is just bad. The food is just simply not good. Enchiladas are dried out, tortillas are dried out. Some of the wait staff is great, and some are phoning it in. I live very close and can walk there, but I won’t anymore. I’d rather get in the car and drive to Uncle Julio’s.

While visiting Dallas for the Thanksgiving Trot, my be and I came in for one frozen margarita and stayed for two more(me that is, my partner was driving)! Made me miss New York cause I would have gotten hammered here drinking froze a and taken the train home. These are really good! Also their froze a have 100% Blue Agave Tequila. Additionally the chips and salsa was pretty good(actually all three salsas). I think it was on the house, can’t remember actually, still, if not, you should get it. The salsa seemed fresh and it was chunky. The chips are thin but come out warm. You seriously won’t put them down and just might not want to share. A meal in itself! Again, really good! As we were in a hurry, we could not actually try the entrees, but man I will be back! The staff was super nice and I truly like it when a place brings something special, and this one is packing it in every corner! This place is quirky and I love it! And you would too for a fun 3rd date!

Overall, best place to go and get a DIVORCE. Order for your food, and expect to be corrected by your waitress every 15 minutes… Again, the waiter or waitress got no clue about the food? I am NOT sure they are on the earth HALF of the time? Expect your food to carry some type of elements that is foreign, or something that you wont recognize. Ready to LEAVE the place! asking the waitress does NOT help! When you leave, without leaving correct tip, your waitress will remind you that. YOU could have done BETTER! Why should I pay to be ILL treated? Seriously? It is like paying for you to get WHIPPED. I am NOT doing this AGAIN !!! Bye Bye !!

This is solid Tex-Mex. Perks: free chips, great happy hour prices, plethora of food sauce choices, and daily specials. Not so perks: Cramped parking, typically very busy(aka long wait times), and they won’t set your large party until more than half is present. There’s takeout and my food is always of good quality. The servers are attentive, but not overbearing. I love this place.

Chuy’s is my favorite place to eat in Dallas when I visit my family there. The atmosphere is super fun, the servers are helpful and cheery. I think the food is phenomenal. The chips they serve are super light and crispy, and I like that you get salsa and then a light, ranch-style sauce too. I’ve had the fish tacos and one of the combo platters and everything was great — the portion size is perfect(you’ll be full when you leave, but not dying), the flavors are vibrant and different(not just like a pile of different mushes on your plate) and it’s all very reasonably priced. I really don’t know what else you could ask for in a Tex-Mex restaurant!

I know it’s a chain. As a rule I don’t like chain restaurants but it’s really hard to beat the Tex-mexy-ness of this place. I find myself at other restaurants trying to duplicate my favorite platter(comida). The flavor is right on– so satisfying. But my only complaint– I wish they had more variety in the drink menu(alcoholic) Love the crazy décor and the goofy t-shirts

Chuy’s is good stuff, but parking is a nightmare. The food is always tasty but you should usually be prepared to wait in line to be seated, as lots of other people know it’s tasty as well. The chips are particularly good when fresh. The«Big as yo’ Face Burritos» are. And the tomatillo sauce is pretty decent.

Note: I review multiple Chuy’s. The reviews are mostly the same, with the exception that each restaurant has a very different style to the building. The food is always consistently the same and good. I took a friend who is from Finland to this Chuys. I helped her understand what to order. She liked everything she had and said she would be glad to be back. This particular Chuys is tight, very tight with parking. Nothing they can do about that. It is two older buildings side by side, which lends two different feels to the atmosphere depending on which side you sit on. A little older and the restaurant wasn’t quite as clean as some of the others, but only by a little bit. It certainly wasn’t dirty, just not as fresh due to the old age of the building. Now, here’s my standard Chuy’s spiel… Chuys has become my favorite Mexican food restaurant of all time. This is a surprise to me. I was leery of them at first, as they tend towards an artsy tex mex feel, which generally is a red flag for me that means: WHITEBOYFOOD. Therefore, my wife and I usually find hole in the wall Mexican restaurants that don’t speak good English and we feel at home with the real deal. I guess I should mention we lived for 7 years near the Mexico border, so we’ve been exposed to some good basic simple real Mexican dishes. Chuys strength is evident in several ways: #1 — they make fresh homemade tortillas all day long. They are good, simply delicious! #2 — the sauces. Oh my word, this is the key that unlocked Chuys to me. Open the small flap on the right side of the menu. Look them all over. Then just tell the waiter that you want to try one of each. They will GLADLY bring you a free sampler of each sauce that you can then dip your chips and the fresh tortillas in to sample the flavors. My personal favorites are the Green Hatch Chili, it is spicy and the green hatch chili’s come through strong. Very rich in flavor. My daughter loves the jalapeño ranch. Their creamy tomatillo is excellent. Actually, I like them all to be honest, and each one is very unique. I really recommend you get to know their sauces with every visit. It is important as you then get to choose which sauce goes on your enchilada or chili relleno. #3 — Their #4 platter is the bomb. One enchilada(cheese, beef, or bean) and one Chili Relleno with beef or cheese. They make the second best Chili Relleno I have ever had, and that is saying a lot. The winner is a restaurant in Midland with a very unusual but fine recipe. I usually get a cheese enchilada and cheese chili relleno. I shake up the sauces each time, trying out the con carne, or the«boom boom» sauce, or the hatch green chili, and so forth. #4 — Their flan. It doesn’t matter if you like flan or not, get over yourself and order their flan. It is the richest best flan I have about ever had. You deserve it, just do it. #5 — Their Texas Martini is THEBOMB. For $ 9, you get a stiff large handmade margarita(not powder) in a large martini mixer. Then they serve a martini glass on the side, salted, with the requisite olive. The drink is strong enough and large enough to refill that martini glass over and over. One drink, shazaam! If it is a good night and I’m feeling adventurous, I will get a second one. Then my wife brings out the wheelchair to roll me to the car. Well, ok, a little hyperbole there, but you get the idea. You won’t need but two drinks, I assure you. $ 18 and done! #6 — I always find the service to be friendly, happy, and helpful. The only time, perhaps once, that they weren’t fully on top of their game, was when they were slammed with a long waiting line and things were hectic. I’ve been many times, and other than one exception, the service is always great. #7 — This place is clean. Every Chuy’s I’ve been into is clean clean clean. #8 — They have THEBEST shirts for sale. One I had to have is a black shirt with nacho chips arranged in the shape of Darth Vader’s helmet. Underneath it states: «I am nacho father!» I just find that too much fun. They just released a new one with a Mexican bandido drawing a pistol out for a fight. But his pistol is a star wars weapon. Underneath is states: «Juan Solo» Just makes me smile every time. the one thing I don’t care for consistently is their standard fresh salsa they serve automatically with chips. It is just mostly unflavored tomatoes with a ton of fresh onion. Some people like that, but I find it needs less onion, some jalapenos, and a ton of cilantro. I strongly recommend you get your butt to Chuy’s, sample every sauce they have including the«boom boom» sauce with your chips and fresh hot tortillas, and drink a Texas Martini. Finish it off with a sample of flan. Celebrate life people!

Chuy’s is one of the better places to come for happy hour. They have a huge bar area with plenty of tables, so finding somewhere to sit is not a problem. During happy hour, they have a station set up where you can help yourself to some chips, salsa, ground beef, and wait for it… queso. That’s right, free queso during happy hour. Very good deal. On top of that, the magarita’s are onyl $ 5 on happy hour. However, if I weren’t coming for happy hour, I would probably go to another restaurant for Tex-Mex. Their salsa is really just tomatoes, jalepenos, onions, salt, and lime thrown into a blender. It tastes like a more blended version of pico de gallo, with a little bit more lime. Not bad, but I prefer a more traditional salsa. With that said, they also serve jalepeno ranch with their chips, and that stuff is the bomb! Very addictive. The food itself is not bad, but then again, not good: just average. The location itself has valet parking in the back if you are unable to find street parking. It’s a bigger venue, so if you have a large group, and don’t want to have to wait, this place will surely be able to accommodate your needs. Apart from the size, the inside is very Austin-y inside with a unique decoration. No sombreros or pinatas here. More like Car pieces from the 50’s and an Elvis statue. In one word, funky. Definitely try this place out if you need a quick queso fix and drink after work.
