I really like this place. Nice owner always in a great mood. Serves simple and delicious food. And pretty good coffee.

Fantastic coffee options and you have to try his panini’s the caprese one is to die for. The owner is super friendly and he has cultivated a very authentic European feel. If you are in the area especially around lunchtime or needing an afternoon pick-me-up this is the spot to be!

We went to see the giant eyeball and then looked up a place to get lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the little café with the ice cream chairs. Excellent Paninis and friendly customer service! The carafe of water is a nice touch.

Cutest little coffee joint in Dallas, in part because the owner is so charming! We came for coffee and stayed for lunch. He is friendly and knows a little bit about everything; makes all the customers feel welcomed. Plus the European style of decór and relaxed atmosphere is such a refreshing change from the usual hustle & bustle of most coffee shops. I recommend it if you are in Downtown Dallas. And as a bonus you can see the giant eyeball Artwork next door.

Walked here from my AirBNB loft downtown. Cute little open front walk-up. Barista(owner?) was nice. Latte was warm and delicious. Ice cream cone chairs were top notch.

The combo of really good, friendly service, good food, and a fair price warrants a 5 star rating.

Found this place on Unilocal and decided I had to try it when I saw they served bratwurst and German cheesecake. I didn’t expect it to be authentic but it was totally legit! The bratwurst is a Nürnberger bratwurst in a kaiser roll and comes with mustard on the side. The cheesecake is made in house and tastes just like in Germany — so delicious! If you’ve never had it, it’s a little less sweet and less dense than New York cheesecake. Couple that with a hot chai and I was in heaven. On top of that, the service is fantastic. The owner made me feel like a regular, which I probably would be if I lived in Dallas.

I’ve been to every coffee shop within walking distance of my building downtown(717 Harwood, to be exact). There are a surprisingly large number of very good little shops around the area, but to my mind, there is in fact a stand out — Café Strada. A charming Euro-style street café filled with a variety of gelatos(Italian style ice cream, for the uninitiated) hand made paninis, and a variety of coffees and teas. I have been one to debate the merits of a pour over versus the French press and the qualities of beans sourced from particular regions, so coffee made from pods was understandably a point of contention at first blush. However, given the environment of an outside café, a pod style allows for a greater consistency on each pour, and I found no issue with the coffee. The Caprese panini David, the affable owner, makes is my lunch every single day. Advantageously located on Stone Street Crosswalk, Café Strada is a prime location to people watch, removed slightly from the bustle of the city. I would highly recommend stopping by.

It really is a nice European feel in downtown. They have coffee, paninis, gelatos, salads, smoothies and sodas. The place really packs a lot into a small space that is great for enjoying the fresh air and to people watch. I totally love this place. I work with a lot of people from Europe and if you ever invite them out for coffee they always wait to see if you want to go to Strada or not have ‘café’ with them. David, the owner, is a very friendly guy who really takes the time to get to know his customers. In the end, the best thing that I can say about this place is that I make a point of being there every day. .

Expectations eclipsed reality for this one. While the street vibe was cool and the seating was great for people-watching, I found more reason to dislike than like this particular outing… Café implies great coffee — This was pod-made. That immediately turned me off. Next, I ordered a panini that was very greasy and not crunchy at all. Solution: Cross the street into the Joule Hotel and go to Weekend Coffee for lunch. Better coffee, better food. I wanted to like Café Strada, but it’s hard to like a place that is wanting for better fare.

Had a meeting at the Comerica building and was looking for a quick bite to eat. Found Café Strada on Unilocal. It’s a cute little café. They have a variety of different things: coffee, paninis, gelato, etc. I had a panini with salami and cheese. I think it was a bit over priced, for 8 bucks it was a pretty small portion, but I enjoyed it. The owner was great and chatted with me for awhile too.

A slice of Italy in Texas! Almost always here for lunch everyday since it’s conveniently next to my downtown office. The owner, David, is super friendly and makes the best espressos! Nice patio next to the giant eyeball and a great area to simply relax and«people watch.»

Gelato was great. Location was super cool, next to the giant eye, tucked away in a strange alley/walkway. The man was super funny and friendly with his cool German/Italian accent. He gave my friend and I a sample of the fruit smoothies, which were good. Walked away with mint choco and coffee gelato with no regrets. Going to try the coffee menu and sit to enjoy for awhile next time, especially in the cooler summer afternoon at the cute café tables.

Good iced coffee. Wanted to get a lunch time panini but the price was a bit to steep for my lunch budget, which with the iced coffee would’ve pushed it above my allotted lunch budget. The patio is pretty good being next to the eye downtown and in front of the Joule hotel. Overall good for a summer morning iced coffee.

They could have better serving sizes. But the ice coffee is good and refreshing. Parking is hard but there is a valet for $ 10 on Main Street. It is a quick stop and the waitress is nice.

Excellent atmosphere, very trendy spot. The panini with the salami and cheese was amazing this morning. The Italian sodas tasted awesome. I had the peach, my wife had the lime, and I tried my sons soft serve ice cream which was super. Make sure you find your way here!

This place is just adorable. Nestled in the little pedestrian alleyway between Elm and Main, to the left of the giant eye(if you’re facing the iris), this little café window with outdoor seating seems to transport you to Europe with its charming ambience. They sell coffee, smoothies, gelato, paninis and salads. The little tables were full of groups of friends and couples enjoying a cool beverage in the shade. The man behind the counter was busy pressing paninis, but he greeted us with a friendly smile. We ordered a couple of paninis and iced coffees and he told us to take a seat, he would bring the food out to us. We took a seat at a table in the shade of the awning, facing the giant eye. Our iced coffees came first, mine with 2% milk and my friend’s with half and half, both excellent. Our paninis arrived shortly after. I had the Caprese panini; pesto, mozzarella, tomatoes and basil on a crusty focaccia. It was pretty good. It didn’t seem to have been fully grilled(the middle was still cold, the cheese not really melted) but the flavors were still fresh and delicious. My friend had one of the paninis with meat and she enjoyed it quite a bit. After we finished our meal, we paid for it at the counter by selecting what we had ordered on an iPad and sliding our cards through the Square. The proprietor was very helpful, walking us through the payment process. Overall, it was a very enjoyable light lunch. I can’t wait to come back and try their gelato.

Buon Gusto Happened to stumble across this little place that is pretty much a hole in the wall, that serves great espresso, gelato and grilled sandwiches, as well as a cooler filled with soft drinks, water, juices, etc. Great place to grab a bite or an ice cream and a table outside on the covered sidewalk/patio and people watch. All of this is under the watchful«eyeball» which sits across the street from the Joule Hotel. So glad I found this little place. Like a little«bar» as it would be called in Italy. Cin Cin!
