Bought a small chocolate«shake». What I got was a plastic glass full of that swirly chocolate ice cream. Not a shake. The manager told me it was a shake. I left it on the counter in disgust. Never coming back.

Food is pretty delicious, but the staff is far from polite, especially at their take-out window. Asking for extra ketchup and they look at you like you’re crazy. I’ll spend $ 25 on a burger and fries… but no extra ketchup.

Really good! I haven’t had one item on the menu that has not been super good. The steaks are just as good as a high quality steak house and burgers are the best. Kinda a one stop shop.

Nicest employees ever! They seem to be known for their burgers but we wanted to try their steaks. We got a ribeye and a filet which they grill over mesquite coals. You could definitely taste the mesquite flavor. We declared the ribeye our favorite. Their also have shakes, do yourself a favor and get the strawberry shake which has real pieces of strawberries in it… AMAZING!!!

I like this place. It’s fast-casual, and they use fresh ingredients. It’s a little pricey maybe, especially for a concept that doesn’t involve full table service. You order at the counter, and sit at any of the tables, and food is brought out to you. And for prices around $ 10 for a la carte menu items, this could seem to be a stretch. But, then again, you have to consider that the burgers are not thin-patty burgers, and the ingredients used are good ingredients. Maybe it’s not the best ingredients out there(organic, grass-fed, etc), but they do make the stuff well, and better than most burger chains out there. And since the burgers are of thicker patties, you can actually tell them how you want the meat to be cooked. But really, when I do come here, I don’t really go for the burgers — there’s plenty of competition everywhere for that. I come here for the ribeye steak sandwiches which is mesquite grilled — and while it’s a little more than what I would like to pay for, they have consistently made it well and to order(I ordered it medium rare, and it came out as such). The strawberry milk shakes have real strawberries and 10% butterfat(which is standard for all of their shakes), giving them that perfectly thick and creamy texture. Definitely a guilty pleasure. And they have other flavors as well as some seasonal flavors(they had Pumpkin Spice last fall, which I’m not too surprised about). I do like also that they’re adding some other concepts to their menu, such as having pork banh mi. I have yet to really venture out of my classic order of the rib eye steak sandwich at this place though. Besides the good classic American food, I have to point out that this location has also a great management team, and friendly employees. I’ve been to some of the other locations, especially in Houston, where there’s several Beck Primes(it started there), but this one stood out more for its service than the other locations.

I’m writing this review as I’m eating… All i can say is that the meet is SO juicy, tender and delicious. Technically I don’t need a knife to cut my steak… Yeah! The meat is very tender. The menu only shows 12&14oz steaks which to me is a lot of meat(I’m petite, I don’t eat that much) so they offered me their 6oz sandwich in a baked potato(instead of bread)! I ask them to serve them separately and i ended up eating exactly what I wanted! Success. I’ll definitely come back here!

Excellent burgers, fries, and more. On the upper end scale of what you’d expect in this posh Dallas neighborhood. The counter walk up will get you a burger to your taste, fries, and a great selection of top notch brew pub draught pours delivered straight from kitchen viewing. No way your funds are ill spent. A refreshing breather to the Hopdaddy deal. Go soon like tomorrow.

I’ve eaten here a few times prior to tonight, since it is «close» to where I work — but this was the 1st time I had been to the restaurant other than during lunch and the 1st time my family was able to join me. Previous visits to Beck’s were all good. Arrived about 9:30pm, just after the Dallas Stars game let out with wife, one daughter and her friend. We saw the sign indicating they closed at 10pm and almost didn’t come in … We were greeted enthusiastically upon entering and during ordering several excellent suggestions were made to help us select our dinner. Dinner arrived quickly and was cooked just as we ordered and we did have a couple special requests — which were perfect. Various restaurant staff checked on us as we ate, as I have experienced in previous visits as well. We really enjoyed our dinner. Various items we tried — couple grilled chicken child’s meals, salad with steak added to it, sweet potato fries, queso/salsa and chips, bacon/swiss burger — add grilled onions and japs, strawberry margaritas, etc … The salsa wasn’t our favorite and likely may not order that in the future, the meat dishes, sides, salads and such were cooked very fresh, as ordered, and tasted great. Service was great. Chips and queso were quite tasty … We enjoyed our dining experience at Beck’s and the old Dallas pictures on the walls are very interesting as well.

One of my favorite burger places in Dallas. They grill everything over mesquite coals which gives everything a fantastic flavor. It’s more than just burgers, they have steaks, salads, ahi tuna, sweet potato or regular fries, etc… I’ve had just about everything on the menu and my favorite is the Ahi Tuna burger. Perfectly seasoned and the taste of the mesquite really shines. Paired with the sweet potato fries, is so good! On the down side. The California burger would be great but the guacamole on the burger had zero flavor. If they could tweak the recipe with the guacamole it would be a home run. It’s a fast casual restaurant that I thoroughly enjoy. Ambiance is great and service is always friendly. Everything is cooked to order so it’s guaranteed to be hot and fresh.

Beck’s is upscale fast food. Counter service burgers(and other items), but of a notably higher quality than most sit-down options. Their hickory burger is an absolute work of art as are the fries. If I had two gripes, it would be that the shakes are lackluster at best and that the crew working just before closing doesn’t provide the same level of Beck’s service that the Houston locations excel at.

Why did I always assume this was a chain steakhouse? I don’t know. Either way, it is not*. It’s a burger place. And a pretty decent one at that. It’s quick and simple. Convenience of a fast food burger place with a much better burger(and a lot of options for that burger too). I went the«lighter» route with the guacamole and swiss-bearing«California Burger», but don’t worry there was still plenty of flavor(read: fat) dripping off and plenty other more«flavorful» options. *They DO offer steak, but who are we kidding. It’s burgers and burgers first.

Paul and his crew catered our wedding. It was amazing, everyone raved about food. Their customer service was incredible and they cleaned up quickly and took all the food trash so we didn’t have to deal with it. More than fifty guests. Wow! considering the service, taste, speed, setup, cleanliness. You definitely get double what you pay for.

Delicious quality food. I tried Beck’s for the first time today. I am very impressed. The blue cheese burger was very well cooked and all the ingredients were very fresh and tasty. The service was very good too. We will be back! P. S. Don’t forget the sides we liked everything we tried potato fires, broccoli slaw, and a chocolate shake.

There’s just something I crave about the smoky-wood-grilled taste of the meat here. It’s not a gourmet fancy schmancy hamburger joint like HopDoddy or Grub… it’s just an excellent grilled burger — and they’re HUGE. So I usually just order a kids meal… and THAT is even $ 8. So — it’s not cheap, but the quality is TOP and they grind the meat daily there. Counter service is always super friendly and this location even has a walk up take out order window! Fries…oh the fries. Fresh cut and delicious. The only thing I would advise AGAINST is their hotdog… WHO serves hotdogs on hamburger buns? Don’t bother serving them IMO… but burger is their game and they do it well.

If you don’t feel like going to McKinney but need to satiate your taste for red meat(or even chicken) I suggest Beck’s. They also have an extensive menu including Baked Potatoes, Steak, etc. VENUE: Located just down the street from Scardello on Oak Lawn, this place is nice and bright. Tons of natural lighting from all the windows(because who wants to go to restaurant where you have to hold your phone up to read a menu??) and it was clean. There are few tables around the place so no need to rule them out on major sporting events. FOOD: I ordered the Kirby salad(see photo). It was REALLY good. And I say that as someone who ordered a SALAD from a beef joint — so my expectations were low. But the spiced pecans were a nice twist to your typical candied pecans in a sweet salad. The raspberry vinaigrette wasn’t too syrupy and the chicken was cooked wonderfully. Tender and a fair amount of the filet served to portion. Don’t worry I had half of Bill’s Burger and it was great! Got it cooked Medium and it was perfect. Juicy and Tender meet with a punch from the Jalapenos. The bun didn’t too soggy(which I would have hated if it had) and the portion of the burger was huge. At least for me. SERVICE: Your order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. The guys taking our orders were patient and kind. One of them had JUST started his first day but he was apologetic for the slow pace and the friendliness made up for it.

With burgers, dogs, salads, sandwiches, baked potatoes and even ‘plates’, I for some reason ordered the chili. It was meaty, greasy, hot(temp), chili flavored, robust, hearty and just darn good. Fluke? I don’t know, glad I got lucky today with it. Why I cannot serve myself tea or water but have to ask a server to do it I have no idea: stupid system.

This really is a solid place — a bit confusing, but very very good nonetheless. Is it «fast food alternative meets swankypants pricing»? or maybe«Fudrucker’s reimagined for Dallas?» Something like that. I didn’t know what to expect — this could have been a Prime steakhouse for all I could tell, and I didn’t look it up before we went. But I had a burger craving and wanted something new, good, and convenient. Beck’s is always on my radar, but it always looks empty so that kept me from going. You order at the counter, which I usually don’t enjoy when we’re out to dinner… but then, you still have a server bring you your food and check on you — so that makes up for it AND the servers and manager are obviously meticulous about their customer service and do a great job. They have limited beer and wine selection, but you can still get what you need. I had a great glass of Chardonnay with dinner. The burger was really good. The quality of beef makes all the difference and I’ve discovered that what I really look for when I bite into my burger is that it’s been served so promptly off the grill that it’s got that just-cooked heat to it — an intense and fresh heat that sears in flavor, while not overcooking the center. This is what I got with my burger — and you can tell it’s a wood-burning grill — you can taste that and it’s fantastic. Prices are what you’ll pay at any Uptown restaurant — so don’t expect the price to be less just because it’s casual. But the food and service won’t disappoint, so it’s worth a visit!

Great quality food, but you will pay a premium for it. Think sit down restaurant quality food and menu but in a fast casual setting. The burgers are great but my favorite is the ribeye steak sandwich, which is surprisingly tender and easy to eat. Also, the fries are fresh cut and wonderful.

Leave it to Houston, Texas to invent the fast-casual steakhouse. But shoot for the steak and you get the gourmet burger thrown in. The competition in that medium is stiff, but I enjoyed their burger and hand-cut fries. I found the Caesar bland, mostly because I prefer a creamier, more robust dressing.

Beck’s is a good place for decent hamburger and fries. The reason I like going to Beck’s is because of the grilled chicken platter and grilled veggies, when on a diet you can order this and it has a lot of flavor. This particular Beck’s has great customer service and they are eager to serve you. It is also full of locals that come in quite often. Beck’s food is just average but good to bring someone that may be particular picky about there food as everything can be custom ordered without much fuss.

I’ve wanted to like the Becks Prime on Greenville Ave, but after some mixed experiences there I’ve never really craved it. Late on a Friday evening I found myself driving by the Oak Lawn spot after a tough long work week and considered it-I could at least have an easy meal without feeling self conscious for dining alone. When I asked the manager about the tuna sandwich vs. the Bill’s burger, he suggested the tuna sandwich since it was fairly late and it would be a lighter meal. Still, he said if I didn’t like it he would buy me a Bill’s burger instead. That was a nice gesture. Ahi tuna sandwich perfection. Their rare pieces of tuna were smaller sized and more tender than the one I tried on Greenville. HIT! The slices of cucumber, tomato, feta cheese, onion and whatever flavorful spread they used tasted wonderful. This was a light, tasty sandwich on a delicious bun. Just right. I had the sweet potato fries which were nicely salted. Topped it all off with a vanilla shake(which I got for free by having joined their email list at the other store and it being«National Vanilla Shake Day» or something). And the manager even followed up to make sure I was happy with the sandwich. Well done Becks… just added you to my quick/tasty/easy meal rotation.

Definitely one upscale burger chain! I honestly had never heard of a Becks Prime until one moved into my neighborhood, but I can really see myself becoming a regular! For starters, you will immediately notice that this isn’t your average fast food burger place. The interior was well-lit, super clean, and friendly employees all around. So I ordered the Bill’s Burger and my fiancé ordered the Queen of Hearts salad with ahi tuna, in addition to some Texas beers(Shiner and St. Arnolds). The burger was definitely my favorite(they had me a grilled jalapenos!). The patty was juicy, and the hamburger bun was so light and fluffy! The salad was really good, but a bit pricey. I did like that their beers were really reasonably priced(about $ 3 each I think).
