My husband and I stopped in for lunch, because he wanted a steak and Texas Roadhouse was closed. Other than several people at the bar, the place was empty. After getting over the noticeable smoke smell(smoking is allowed at the bar), we picked a small table near the dance floor. The place has some wear and tear, but was clean. The bartender doubled as our server. She was very courteous and knowledgeable when we asked questions about the menu. She quickly brought us bread with butter and our drinks. My husband had a steak and I had the Swiss & mushroom burger. Both were very good. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

Dirty, disgusting, ROACHES crawling across the bar… unfriendly staff that seem to be intoxicated! Would never recommend!

A smoke factory, lung cancer will meet you at the door! I have been at the door once and left because the smoke stench is horrible.

I only went once for drinks. The place has been around a very long time. It could use a face lift, and a bigger dance floor. The staff members were very nice and welcoming.

The salads we got we’re good and we enjoyed cokacola and refills… The server was attentive and friendly. The food was really bad.

Waitstaff sat us way out of the way, then neglected to come back and take our drink order for at least 15 minutes. When my appetizer arrived(potato skins) they were frozen in the middle. Salad came with dirt/grit in it. Hubs’ steak was all fat. Poor wait service, no drink refills, had to get up, go find a waitress and ask for our bill. People smoking in the bar, and we could still smell it where we were eating. All in all, don’t waste your time eating here.

SMOKINGALLOWED so it permeates throughout the whole restaurant. Food was bad, from frozen. Had a headache throughout the whole meal because of the smoke. Just not enjoyable. Thought smoking wasn’t allowed in restaurants. Bad experience. There were only 6 people in the restaurant and they paid more attention to the regulars at the bar. Won’t be going back.

If you love cigarette smoke, this is the place for you. If you love leaving a restaurant and going straight home to take a shower to get the smoke smell off you, this is the place for you. If you like creepy, dark, smoky places, this is the place for you.

I have been here three times just to make sure it was a bad as I thought. I can’t quite understand how it has remained open for so long. Very dirty, food is poor quality and the service doesn’t really exist. Best bet is to stop in for a quick drink. Saw that they are putting up a Texas Roadhouse next to it… I would wait and go there for a steak.

Run. Defrosted steak, tough as leather. Soggy vegetable sides like they poached em too long. And that baked potato, OMG. fresh from the microwave. Run.

My husband and I went to Austin’s last night with two of our teenage daughters. The cigarette smell from the bar was overwhelming. I had to use my inhaler. We ordered right away and got our appetizer quickly; however, that was when the fun stopped. Forty minutes later, our food arrived. We asked where our salads were and were told they were coming. Ten minutes later, our salads arrived after our entrees. I had received a gift certificate from work and because of that, the tip was already included. So our waitress, who never once apologized for the late food or inconvenience, got a whopping $ 13 tip! I thought about complaining to the manager but on our way out someone at the bar was calling a waitress a bad name, so my daughter says to me «Mom — let’s just get out of here.» Unless you are a fan of cigarette smoke, late food and eating your salad at the end of meal, I would give Austin’s a pass, It is unbelievable that it has managed to stay in business this long.

I went to Austin’s for St. Patrick’s day and had the best time plus great food. They had a 4 man band because of St Patrick’s day, a combination rock, Waylon Jennings, Marshall Tucker vibe that had a great singer and guitarist! I had the fish stuffed with seafood that was amazing! Cooked just right, very moist, good sauce, stuffed with plenty of seafood. It came with a good salad and I ordered the fresh vegetables for my side. The were truly FRESH and a large portion. I am from out of town, and found most of the customers to be regulars, yet extremely friendly and genuine. I felt right at home and had a terrific evening!

The atmosphere was good except for the cigarette smell coming from the bar. We were seated as far from the bar as you can get but could still smell it. The food was not what we expected. Had fried shrimp which was over cooked, the steak fries were under cooked and very greasy. My dinner companion had chicken fajitas that were over cooked and dried up breaded chunks. For the price it was definitely not worth it and would not recommend this establishment. I will not be returning.

We went to Austin’s this evening with some new friends who are veterans there. We have lived in the area for years, but we have never been to Austin’s. From reading some of the negative reviews here, I was a bit skeptical. Well, I have to say that the place was a lot of fun! The people were great, the servers were very attentive, and the Snow Crab Legs we shared were some of the BEST crab I have had in ages. FAR better then Joe’s Crab Shack or any of the other restaurants that serve crab legs. The salad served first was crisp and refreshing, the crab was perfectly cooked and delicious, the fries were tasty, and the entire experience was very, very pleasurable. We will DEFINITELY be coming back often to Austin’s!

Finally stopped by Austin’s after living in the area for six years. The place always seemed quiet, but it’s still in business so I figured they must be doing something right. I was wrong. If you’re looking for a smoky place to have a drink with a few locals, then I guess it’s fine. However, this was the worst steak and seafood meal we’ve experienced in a long time. Overcooked ribeye with slimy lyonaise potatoes. Mariners platter included scallops with zero flavor, chewy overlooked fried shrimp, and a crab cake that looked to be made from canned crabmeat. The only decent items were the salads. Even the molten lava cake they offered for free due to the poor food quality tasted like a hostess cupcake. I do have to commend the service. They were attentive and timely.

Wow, all I have to say is wow. We were going to hit up Matilda’s again but my girlfriend was in trouble with her boyfriend for forgetting his birthday so he was allowed to pick the place. He wanted to go see a band up in Cumming at Austin’s so we took the drive up to exit 14. The place itself was really easy to find, right off the exit. The parking lot was pretty crowed and we thought, why not, this could be some really good local talent. Well, it was. Sort of. We walked into a fairly seedy, threadbare, don’t touch the walls, restaurant. There was a guy sitting at a computer and another guy singing on the dance floor with a mic. Several people were dancing. We asked our friend if he was mistaken and it was actually karaōke night. Nope. The guy with the mic was the band. Albeit a good singer and he loved to play to his audience, who, BTWLOVEDHIM! It was pretty funny. After a couple of beers we stopped noticing the peeling walls and bathroom that was flooding and began to enjoy ourselves and the local flavor… which there was a lot of. I won’t go into details about the customers, but we really did feel as if we were in the mountains on vacation and this was the local«go to place» for a good night out. Hilarious. The bartender(just one, poor thing) was awesome! She was working her butt off but that didn’t stop her from being friendly. I kept giving her shit about giving our boys too many girlie shots, but thankfully she knew I was joking. By the end of the night the men of our party got wasted and wanted to leave just as us girls were getting our groove on on the dance floor. Oh well, it was probably for the best, the one man«band» was looking pretty cute to me by that time. All in all… a great time was had. It’s a bit far to go to very often, but I will put on my cowgirl boots and a big smile the next time my friend is in trouble with her boyfriend!

Yesterday I decided to burn some(relatively) cheap gas and make the journey all the way up to Forsyth County for a poker doubleheader at Austin’s Steak and Seafood, which happens every Saturday at 1230. They have live music on Fridays as well. As the name suggests, Austin’s serves mostly steaks with some seafood. I checked out the menu and the prices appeared to be quite reasonable, particularly their lunch menu. I did not eat lunch there, but I did have some dessert(molten chocolate cake, with ice cream) which was quite delicious. They had several different desserts available as well. If you are up in Forsyth County, give Austin’s a try!
