Captain D’s Seafood

No bad for some fast food. I drove thru, got the current special (fried white fish, mac & cheese, broccoli) & had enough food fo lunch & dinner. Friendly drive-​thru server & hot food, what more is there.

I hate writing bad reviews. And keep in mind, your experience may differ. It was a very, very slow night. There may have been two cars in the parking lot. That should have been my first omen. Secondly this was a drive-​thru order. I should have given my order the sniff test on the spot. When I got home and opened the contain, it reeked of rancid cooking oil. It wasn’t the fish, it was clearly the oil. If you do much cooking, you know the smell of which I speak. Anyway, I was very disappointed. Doubt I’ll be back any time soon.
01/​04/​2012, 8:00PM Update. Got a call from the owner. It was a very good conversation. He was genuinely interested in my experience. NOW THAT’S CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! I do believe my feedback will translate into a change for the better. I’ll bet you won’t find that kind of customer service from your average mega-​giant, too-​big-​for-​its-​britches, burger-​doodle !!!

My buddy just got back from England on business where he had fish and chips and hated it. He insisted we go to Captain D’s for lunch for the real stuff, but wasn’t sure since he’s not much of a fast food guy and neither of us had been there in years. After stuffing ourselves his conclusion was… the yanks do it better than the brits and we both left fat and happy. If ya’ll got a hankering for deep fried fish and chips, and yer not from these here parts, ya can’t go wrong with the Captain in Cumming this side of the pond.

I don’t know what the most recent reviewer is talking about. I always use a credit card when I eat there. And I eat there several times a week.
The people here are very, very, VERY nice and helpful. They always smile. They always ask me if I need anything else. I really can’t think of any other fast food place for 50 miles that is faster, more friendly, or has better food.

Haven’t been this mad in a long time… just drove 25 minutes just to eat here… get there and they are cash only. No back up system and refused to work with me.
This is what I get for being a regular here. You should have at least acted like you cared… all manager did was say they had outdated system and couldn’t get any help.

As good as it gets when it comes to deep fried heaven. Fish & chips are awesome and, even though it’s fast food, better than you’ll get at some pricey seafood restaurants.
Big portions and great prices. You won’t be disappointed. They have a LOT of side items to choose from w/​healthy choices like mixed veggies, salad and green beans. Their broiled shrimp, chicken and fish is just as good as their fried. Because they do have healthy options and healthy sides, we eat here more often than we would if it were just fried fish.
Always clean and the service is friendly super friendly.
One of my favorite places to eat on a weeknight when I don’t feel like cooking.

I love this great little seafood place. Let me be clear this is no fine dining; this is a fast food fish joint. D really has mastered the beer battered fried seafood item. They have ‘lighter, non-​fried items’ but that’s not why I come here. If you need your fix of fried goodness, get a couple of pieces of fish, cole slaw, fries and some hushpuppies. You will need to wipe your hands on some paper towels (they keep a roll on each table). The staff walks around refilling your drinks. Your cholesterol might go up by 100 points but for the occasional gluttony of all things fried, Captain D’s is a winner in my book.
