Michaels

The staff at this Michaels location are so friendly and very helpful! It seems like staff at these large chain craft stores can be hit-​or-​miss when it comes to creativity but the staff at this Coralville location are excellent. On multiple occasions, I’ve stopped in looking for an odd tool or needing some advise on how to complete a project and the staff here have always been eager to help me out.
My only gripe is that Michaels almost always has a coupon available but that it’s often hard to track them down since they’re not offered in the in-​store flyers, and the employees don’t keep a stock of them at the checkout (I’m guessing they’re advised not to), and I usually loose them in my email.

Always a good time at Michaels! Before coming here, I thought there was normal paper and construction paper… this was proven incorrect. Upon entering, you’re greeted by a plethora of items on sale, which often include a few shelves worth of picture frames. Plenty of candy, last years crafts and what appeared to be akin to «as seen on TV» dot the landscape near the registers.
For some reason we’re always looking for baskets when we come here and the selection is quite vast. Located in the back left portion of the store, the two aisles dedicated to baskets never leave us wanting, though we’ve never bought more than two in one visit.
While I’m not a crafter, I’m sure this is a place that’s great to get everything you need. The folks that work here are incredibly knowledgeable about all things pintrest-​esk and make each visit a pleasant one.

Great selection of craft items for all ages. Frequently offer discounts, enabling those on a tight budget to indulge. I generally use the discounts to buy art supplies. My grand-​daughter loves the craft kits. The store is well-​arranged, but if needed, helpful, courteous staff are always able to help you locate items.
