Ate here tonight with ny family… This place is a great addition to Columbus… I had the chicken plate that comes with grilled chicken breast, ribs, and shrimp along with charro beans, guacamole etc… The plate presents itself great for the cost… Chicken was good. Ribs were tender and shrimp were just right… Charro beans were on point also… I was verry happy with my plate tonight. If your traveling through town… Give this place a try!

Awesome place. Stumbled on this place quite literally. Tacos are real good. Chips/salsa/guacamole is pretty good too. Service is extremely attentive and fast. Highly recommend this place.

Definitely a great tasting Mexican food place. Chips are store bought and sauce is just ok. Service is average but the folks are very nice. We love stopping here when driving near Columbus.

We stopped to have dinner here on our way home from Huston this evening. I was expecting pretty good food from the 4 star review rating on here but alas I was very disappointed. The atmosphere was nice but the food was not. I ordered the chicken stuffed avocado plate. It comes with“tortilla soup” which was nothing but chicken soup with tortilla chips added on top. The beef fajitas were dry and wrapped in a greasy tortilla. The chicken in the stuffed avocado was also very dry. The avocado was big and very fresh, I’ll give them that but the rest of the meal was not good at all.

Favorite mexican food spot! Try the botana mix! And the margaritas are soooo good! They serve queso for lunch for free with the chips and salsa. Great location. Always packed

Frosty beer mugs are a plus. They bring you two different salsas and both were good. I ordered carne guisada. The flavor was good, had a smoky taste to the meat. Rice was cooked perfect, soft but not mushy and no hard pieces. The charro beans had a good flavor without the salty taste. Overall a good Tex-mex restaurant.

Legit Mexican food! And it’s just off the highway about halfway between San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. Before even ordering they brought chips, salsa, AND queso. WHAT?! They have a lunch menu so I ordered the lunch version of their green enchiladas. The dish was perfect with a huge side of guacamole and sour cream.

yes, food is good since there really is not much to compare it to in Columbus… but the service has been terrible. also, this is a great atmosphere to host a birthday dinner, but they do not give options to do that. they just expect you to show up with a party of 15 ppl and fingers crossed that you do not have to wait 2 hours…

Vegetarians– try the cheese enchiladas with the poblano cream sauce. The chile sauce on menu has meat. However, it has lots of onions so if you’re not into that, ask for none. The mole sauce is also veg. The beans have pork in them, so I order double rice. Excellent chips and salsas as well!

Every time I go to Columbus, this is my favorite place to eat. You can tell from the busy parking lot that it’s a favorite. During lunch, their fajitas are my go-to. You also get queso during lunch, so it gets just as busy as dinner. They have a huge menu, and everything I’ve had is great. Definitely stop by if you’re driving through. It’s some of the best tex-mex I’ve had.

Flawless Tex Mex along I10. Amazed by the professionalism of the servers. Food quality — queso flameado, tamales, enchiladas, fajitas, tortillas, salsa — was among the best I have had. Takes me back to childhood memories of El Fenix in Dallas. Exceeded expectations.

Excellent food and fast service! You get free queso with the chips and salsa. Margaritas were delicious. Cheese enchilada plate was really good. Son got chicken fajitas and my daughter got cheeseburger and fries and they both loved their food as well. I don’t know if I’ll make it back to Columbus, TX but if I do I’m stopping in!

Read the reviews and knew we had to try this place. Checked into our campground, got ourselves set up and met up with some friends. They suggested going out to a Mexican restaurant. I was so hoping it would be this one. Woohoo! It was. Ordered a house margarita while we perused the menu. A bit disappointed with them. I think they forgot the tequila. Chips, salsa and some other dip were placed before us. Good salsa, had some heat. Chips were light and not greasy. Not real sure what the other dip was. Very attentive wait staff. Our waters were never below half and the chips were replenished. Thumbs up. Orders were placed. One seafood enchilada plate, one enchiladas verde, one pork chop, and one platos locos. Food arrived in a timely manner. It was excellent! Pork chop meal consisted of two perfectly grilled chops on a sizzling platter with onions, guacamole salad, rice and beans. Seafood enchiladas, perfecto, served with rice and beans. Enchiladas verdes, not the tomatillo sauce you would expect. A creamy cilantro sauce served with rice and beans. The Plato loco consisted of one beef fajita taco, one pork tamale, one ground beef enchilada, one cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Only negative I can come up with is that that tamale was very small. Large portions, most everyone took home lunch for the next day. Am so glad we came here so early in our stay to the area. We will definitely be back before heading out of town.

I eat a HELLUVA lot of food out given how much I travel for work, Mexican and Tex Mex in particular. This was far and away the best Tex Mex I may have ever had. I’m astounded. I’m from Houston, been all over the state a zillion times in hundreds of restaurants. The flavor of tomato based sauces was divine. The green sauce, delish. Queso, perfect. Textures, spices, flavors combined perfectly right off I –10 between Houston and San Antonio, before cut-off to Austin. Best road trip stop ever and you won’t regret it.

Good food! The lunch specials were huge portions, but very easy on the wallet. Lunch comes with free chile con queso as well! The food was fast, service was attentive, and my meal was really tasty. This is my favorite place to stop on our drive between Austin and Houston.

Every time I’m in town I visit this place. Their outstanding qualities, in my opinion, are the bar and the margaritas! They make great margaritas and the bar is clean, comfortable and away from all the chaos of the main restaurant. I also enjoy their chips and salsa… pretty decent. Their food is also pretty good and typical. Nothing outstanding, everything though is generally pretty good. Service too is also pretty average. The portions are huge though, I wish they offered more smaller plate items.
