I have standards in terms of steaks cause this is my ever favorite ever but once I’ve tasted this it was too close to my taste and i so love it yet so very affordable. the place was very awesome to relax and chilled for awhile.

Located in Columbus, TX about halfway to Austin, Nancy’s has a wide selection of items on their menu, from salads to pasta to steak to burgers and sandwiches. There is bound to be something for everyone. We stopped by Nancy’s for lunch since we needed to charge our electric rental vehicle at the Comfort Inn across the street for about an hour anyways. I ordered the Salmon Cesar Salad and my friends ordered the Sunday Special(10oz Prime Rib for $ 15.99). My salad had a very healthy helping of salmon and it was cooked perfectly to where it was juicy and not dry. It was seasoned very well, however I could tell that the salmon wasn’t very fresh. I wasn’t complaining of course since we were far from any place that you could probably get fresh fish, so I wasn’t really expecting much anyhow. It was good but it was very fishy tasting. My friend’s that got the prime rib noticed large chunks of fat surrounding the steak. One of my friends ended up cutting his steak to almost half after the fat was trimmed off. Portion sizes are great and you will be full when you leave. They also have free ice cream soft serve available. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean and the wait staff is very friendly. Nancy’s is a good place to stop and eat if you’re in the area and you don’t really feel like eating at McDonald’s, Subway, or the Mexican Restaurant in the area.

We had an amazing dinner. Great food, extremely friendly staff. Our glasses never got below half. Many choices from salads, to seafood to steak and sandwiches. Salad bar was small, but fresh. Definitely recommend it and we would go back if we ever went through there again.

I have been in this place several times and found it dirty and filthy. Sitting at the bar, I’m glad I did, ordered a beer in a bottle and was handed it and I had to take the top off, no big deal. To my amazement I had brown slime all over my hands from opening the bottle of beer. Told the bar keep and he proceeded to take six packs out of cooler and it was terribly sickening, slime over everything he pulled out. Needless to say I did not eat there or will never. From what I could see in the kitchen total filth, dirty every where. My question would be, How’s the food? Did not want to take a chance.

Food is fair. Service is consistently poor. I feel bad because the servers are undertrained and have too many tables. There are no managers walking the floor unless you count the young girl who stares at a room full of tables that need to be bussed. I don’t know why the owners/managers can’t get this right. Maybe there’s not enough competition nearby. Sad

Service was great! Quality of food is excellent. Watch out they give you generous portions. I love their Nancy’s Seafood Grill plate. It comes with soup or salad, I choose the potato soup and the for the side I pick the rice. Have been coming here for years, never disappointed.

We arrived for dinner on Sat. night with our party of four Aggies & requested a table near a TV so that we might watch the Aggie football game. The hostess was very accommodating. Our server, Jose, was attentive and helpful throughout our meal. We enjoyed the delicious sirloin steak and super-fresh salad bar. Those who had the baked sweet potato were thrilled with their choice– baked perfectly tender & delicious! We will return to Nancy’s again, I’m sure! Great food & service that was top-notch!(Thanks for not rushing us as we lingered after dinner watching the Aggie game for a few minutes.)

We just recently ate there and the salads are great… but the salad bar needed some attention, it needed to be cleaned. The steak was cooked to perfection which was sad, because the flavor was lacking… it had a nice charbroiled taste but absolutely nothing else… my wife enjoyed the meal she ordered, but in order to charge top dollar $ 24 dollars for a 12 ounce steak I expect more… over priced but the options in Columbus are limited so I guess they can charge whatever…

Good eating experience!!! Fast service, good atmosphere and great food. The Chuck Wagon! My steak ordered medium well was cooked to perfection, shrimp had an excellent sea food flavor, not the common farm shrimp. Also the salad bar had a good selection of fresh vegetables.

This is a first for us on our way back to Austin after watching the Astros. The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive. My husband loves salad bars and he raved about the freshness of the vegetables and choices. I really didn’t want anything but the waiter suggested soup. I usually avoid soup in summer but I had the potato soup. It was some of the best soup with just the right amount of cooked bacon, cheese and shallots. Very tasty. I stuck with basics having fried shrimp which was fresher than the shrimp I had in Kemah last night. Stephen had the chopped sirloin steak(11 oz) topped with mushrooms and grilled onions with a brown pepper sauce. It was absolutely to die for. We were so full that we did not order dessert. Those looked good but there was still a drive ahead. We will definitely stop here again.

Stopped here on our way to San Antonio. The food was great and we had good service. I had the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy. Other people in my party had a cheeseburger and a salad with grilled chicken. No one had complaints. Would definitely stop here again.

Nice hidden gem! Traveling on the way to San Antonio and decided to stop in Columbus, TX for dinner! Old world charm! Very clean and friendly staff. Full service bar and I recommend the fried mushrooms, to die for! Steaks were mildly seasoned, enjoyed the small salad bar. Give it try…

Service was ok, the steak was definitely disappointing. Ordered medium and got medium well. My wife ordered rare and got medium well. She sent hers back and was given a medium rare steak. I kept my medium well steak, the flavor was definitely lacking. It was edible but tasted really bland, it was more like a boiled steak than grilled. Mine was also served with a strip of bacon that was discolored and black, probably from being fried with the steak. Tasted more like turkey bacon. I would not recommend ordering any of the beef products at Nancy’s Steakhouse. Worst steak in Texas.

Nancy’s pasta was a smart choice! It was my first time at this place. I always trust my friend in choosing our dinner or lunch whenever we go photoshooting nature landscape and even sunsets! Meals are usually part of the workshop. Not a very fancy looking on the outside but a TexMex ambience in the inside feels warm and welcoming! Service is great! I would not hesitate to stop by again next workshop if nearby!

Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a local family restaurant, it’s just a Saltgrass Steakhouse rip off. We stopped here on the way from Houston to Austin for dinner. Yes, it’s a better choice than most of the options on the side of the road, but it’s still just another chain. We were sat right away on a Friday night, but it took a long time until we could flag someone down for service. Once we got a waitress, service went smoothly. The food options are a complete déjà vu of Saltgrass steakhouse down to the names of the items. I had the hickory chicken and started with baked potato soup. The chicken was fine as was the soup. My sidewinder(side item name here and at Saltgrass) were the onion strings. They weren’t good; they tasted like they came straight from the freezer and into the fryer. That might be the case in many places but they shouldn’t taste so stale. The real Saltgrass(which I’m not even a huge fan of) executes all of these items a little better. The best thing I had the whole evening was the bread and sweet butter we had before the meal. Stop here if you need dinner as it is one of only non fast food options around, just don’t expect much and you’ll be fine.
