Five stars for froyo favors and variety. One star for the clerk’s attitude. She was nowhere in sight when we were at the counter to pay. When we tracked her down five minutes later, she made no apology for the wait. No greeting, no smile, no «thank you.»

A great secret hidden in a strip mall in Colorado Springs, Summersweet gives the impression of a well-run self-serve fro-yo establishment as soon as you walk in. The café is small, but very clean, and we found the worker behind the counter to be very helpful, polite, and courteous. As I often do, I opted for the big cup and sampled every flavor that was non-fruit based. The best by far was a root-beer flavored frozen yogurt. I highly recommend it. The selection of toppings was adequate, but not as extensive as some other similar fro-yo places I’ve been to. The only other issue was getting to this fro-yo place. It is tucked into an alcove-like location in a strip-mall with confusing road access. Bottom line: If you can get there and you don’t require four or five different types of exotic boba in your fro-yo, this place has high quality frozen yogurt with good flavor and very friendly workers.

Summersweet came up in my search for vegan ice-cream/frozen yogurt, yet there was only one non-dairy option… vanilla. Not exactly the variety I expected from a place that advertises and takes pride in their dairy free options, but to their credit they actually have nutritional facts right by each flavor so you know calorie and sugar content per serving without having to do an Internet search, unlike most sweet shops in Colorado Springs. So, I commend them for that. As far as flavor is concerned… I was only able to have the almond vanilla, which had a slight plastic-y taste to it, so I threw it out at home. Everyone else in my group seemed to love their favors. So, on that note: I’d recommend this place to those who have dairy in their diet, but not to vegans or the lactose intolerant(unless the flavor options expand and they lose the plastic taste element).

I’ve been to a lot of frozen yogurt places and thus is definitely the best one thus far. Everything I sampled was delicious and all the tips were fresh. The cashier was nice and respectful and they offered me a rewards card. I enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to go back!

Amazing frozen yogurt! You can taste samples of the yogurt. The toppings are varied. The self-serve is great because you can get as much or as little as you want. The atmosphere makes for a great place to hang out, and the people are always very nice!

Great selection. Love the options of «healthier» options. Besides, fresh fruit on fro-yo is awesome! There was one worker one time who obviouly wasn’t happy to be at work. He got very loud at my friend who brought a closed bag with his dinner in it. He wouldn’t let him eat, even though he had a cup of icecream. Besides that one guy that one time, the servers are friendly and some are willing to make some good recommendations on what goes well together. Pretty good little spot.

It’s always so very clean in here! Good variety of choices and the topping bar is awesome! Amazingly nice staff too! Not overpriced like some other frozen yogurt places in town.

All the samples you desire. If your trying to be semi«Healthy» and don’t want a cup of frozen cream this is your place. Toppings are awesome and have always been fresh. They also put out new flavors occasionally. This place is a treat!!!

Nice spot, decent size, awesome atmosphere. They have a nice array of flavors and a very awesome toppings bar. Every Monday is 25% off for military. I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I went in the evening on a weekday, so it wasn’t terribly busy.

Good frozen yogurt. Came here based on other Unilocal reviews and wasn’t disappointed. The entire family found flavors and toppings they liked. Price was normal for these type of places.

People watching while devouring some froyo, most deffinately! Try all the flavors, maybe more than once. Then try them again just to make sure. Put them together in different combos and you never know what your going to get. The décor is inviting. Seating for individuals and groups, plus seating for little ones is always nice for families. The pillows along the wall are a nice soft touch. Clean and neat.

Great little spot, Pretty busy too! We stopped in after dinner, I’d be craaaaaving froyo for daaaays, haha. I usually get the tart & load on the toppings. This time I got the toasted marshmallow & the ghiradella chocolate– YUM! Craving satisfied. :)

As long as they keep lots of vegan, dairy-free options, we will keep coming back. We especially love the vanilla almond that we used to get at(now closed) Buttercups downtown. Also it’s located next door to a Qdoba… Together they are a perfect pairing!

best place for froyo– hands down! I’m from socal so I grew up eating froyo until I left for college in Boston(why did I do this again?) and I really missed good froyo. This place hits the spot– their coffee, dulce de leche, original, and peanut butter are REALLY good. mmmm. I’ll be coming here every time I come out to the Academy for that special someone. 25% military discount on Mondays!

Finally, a self-serve yogurt shop that does it right! The yogurt is high-quality(i.e. it doesn’t melt by the time you sit down to dig in), and the favors are spot on. Of course I had to try them all… dulce de leche, cookie dough, pralines and cream, coconut, and tart were my top picks. The toppings bar is expansive; on this particular visit I loaded up on crushed thin mint cookie, marshmallows, white and dark chocolate chips, gooey brownie bites and hot fudge. Opting for something healthier? Try some fresh blueberries, raspberries, mango, strawberries and kiwi. The cherry on top(pun intended) is the relaxed atmosphere; its an ideal place for families, couples and friends to meet up and chill out.

I really wish I lived in Colorado Springs, simply for this place. It may have taken the place of pinkberry in my heart. I know, I know, blasphemy. Don’t tell the pinkberry across the street that I said it. Anyway, back to Summer Sweet. The atmosphere is sooooo relaxing and clean. The people are really friendly, they serve coffee and espresso as well as froyo. Ok, so the froyo flavors… there are a ton of them! And what’s cool is that they have these LCD screens next to each flavor that tell you if it’s dairy free, soy free, sugar free, etc etc. It’s really helpful for some of my lactose challenged friends. They also have a really good selection of toppings and sauces. It’s a pay by the ounce place, which means you have control over spending $ 2 — $ 8 on a cup of delicious froyo. Also! As a bonus, I think you can get it even cheaper by the ounce if you want to just take a pint of froyo home to enjoy later.
