I work close by and decided to try Springs Café, since its change from North End. I was a little shocked at the appearance of the inside. It still has the diner feel, but a lot less organized. Buns and kitchenware are everywhere. If you’re a clean freak, then this place is not for you. However I sat down and ordered the beef soup and fried spring rolls. The soup came steaming, which was exactly what I was looking for. Simple broth with beef bone and meat, and crisp bok choy and other greens. Served with a healing pile of steamed white rice. The fried spring rolls were hot a d crispy, and you get quiet a few with your serving. The place needs some help with the décor, but I’ll be back to try something else. I wish they had more Filipino food choices, the menu still has most of the prior diner foods as well.

As far as we can tell, this is a new place. We were looking for the north end diner, but it was late in the day and the previous place we were trying to find was bunk, so it really didn’t matter what existed in this spot, we were eating there. We walked in the front door and felt as if we were interrupting, but then the staff did everything to make us feel welcome! The location is a little weird, kind of 2 separate locations for seating. We went with the fillipino breakfast for lunch and that was a fabulous choice. The jerky meat is really just meat, fried up but still tender. The sausage, fillipino sausage, woah, super amazing. Spicy yet sweet with the mixture of that with eggs over easy and fried rice… hello, thank you! the price is right, the service is relatively quick and the staff is doing their best! They were all either only having worked for a week or it was their first day! I almost wanted to stop on the way out of town to grab extra sausages on the way home! Weird location(in a strip mall with the laundry matt that the owner of the restaurant runs/cleans/maintains), double dining area, and the menu has all kinds of things, including burgers, and burritos… All in all they should focus on their filipino food, but no matter what, stop by and enjoy a meal!
