It is absolutely shameful how slow the clerks are. I have been standing in line for 20 minutes now, 10 people ahead of me. Shameful. No wonder their sakes are way down. People get tired of waiting, and waiting, and waiting. …

Okay… It’s ROSS. You enter the place already telling yourself, «it’ll be fast… my life will go on after this… maybe I’ll find something similar to what I want to buy… I won’t catch SARS if I touch something». So really, you can’t exactly find this store as a destination spot. Every other time I’ve been there I feel like I have to keep my hands in the air constantly to keep from being suspected of theft by their overly bored security department… But here is the exact moment where ROSS became a place worse than the Walmart on Platte(where people go to DIEORFART). I just had surgery to remove cysts that the doctors thought were cancerous. I was already hurting… I pulled into a handicap spot and hung up my temporary handicap tag on my mirror. There were 2 other cars in the lot. Again, only 2 cars… I take my 7 year old daughters hand and walk slowly into the store to buy her the crappy pink vanity table that I promised her for her birthday. I enter the store where the only customers in the store were there checking out and the cashier(the black lady that has worked there for 2.9 million years) was already staring me down. «You DO realize there are handicapped people that shop here, don’t you?!», she shouted over the customers who now returned the stare. I look around… «excuse me?»… She speaks louder, as if I am a 99 year old who lost a hearing-aid. «You parked in the handicapped spot, and you need to move your car!!». I respond with, «I could be dying. But if you don’t think that qualifies, feel free to check my mirror tag in your empty parking lot. Not all disabilities and illnesses are as visible as that.» She sighs and huffs out«WHATever.» And mutters something to the customers that they laughed at nervously. I see the manager by the dressing rooms and tell him about her behavior, and find myself in tears shaken by her audacity and harsh judgment. He insists that she is «never like that» and questions me. The manager out right asked me if I was sure that it had even happened… How the hell do people like this have jobs in customer service?! He sighs, say’s he’ll «talk to her»(yeah right) and offers me 10% off of 1 item. Woot! Totally worth it! I saved $ 0.80 and awkwardly had to get rung up by that same woman I wanted to hit in the face with the vanity set I was buying. If I hadn’t promised that exact set to my daughter, I would have stormed/walked slowly and painfully out never to return again… and I should have done just that, because surprise surprise… After assembling the crap merchandise, the light/music feature in the vanity didn’t work at all.(just like their ability to respect the people that keep their employer from going out of business)… . Don’t go there. Ever. … ever. Seriously, never go there.

Store was clean and easy to navigate. I thought it had a decent selection. I left a bag of items behind, and had asked for my receipt to be placed in the bag. I don’t have a receipt they are unwilling to locate my itemized receipt and now I am out a birthday gift that I had purchased. I don’t normally leave behind things but with the windy weather I didn’t want to take the cart outside. An oversight on my part but unwilling dept store. I’d settle for willingness to locate a receipt.

Really low inventory. Junior section pretty sparse. Clean though and well-organized. I prefer the selection at Southgate and South Academy/Union. Has the typical sections: kids, juniors, women’s world, lingerie, men’s shoes and clothes, home, maternity, electronics, toys. As I walk around I’m more and more bummed. I love Ross but this one leaves a lot to be desired.
