Not that great. I trusted the other Unilocal reviews, but was super disappointed. Of the 5 people dining(myself and 4 others), 2 of the things were great and 3 had no good flavor at all. I should have stuck with just the pizza as it was pretty good, and the chicken cacciatore had great flavor, but the chicken was dry. The pasta dishes and the lasagna were not good at all. Disappointing after all the good things I saw on here. It looked to me like a lot of local regulars who are used to the mediocre food.

Went to Roma Villa again this week(Tuesday). I know the place is busy on the weekends but it was still packed Tuesday(6-ish). We decided to stay and wait. I’ve had the pasta(s) here many times and they are always good. The Lasagna is also great! This time though we had the pizza. It was very good. really good flavor and a nice crisp crust. Not sure on our next visit if I will be able to resist the pizza :-)

All I can say is this a gem in Colorado Springs. I almost don’t want too send a review because I want too keep this quaint little place too myself. Amazing food, amazing staff, but I had to post this!

WOW! This place uses quality ingredients, including real romano in their cheese shakers. Don’t let the location fool you, inside is cozy and friendly. I have never been much of a cannolli fan, but theirs knocked my socks off.

Visiting from out of state. This is a gem of a place. Amazing atmosphere and ambience. Very friendly staff and clientele. Pasta dishes and salad were delicious. My only regret was I much prefer New York style pizza. The crust was a little thicker and crispier, and the cheese a little heavier than I prefer. Other than that, great must-see family run restaurant.

We have been looking for a good Italian place in the Springs and I think we have found one! Homemade pastas and sauces! We showed up at about 4:55 and we were lucky we weren’t a few minutes later. We got one of the last tables when the door opened at 5 and many people behind us were left waiting probably a good hour. The place has maybe 20 tables and has the feel of someone’s living room. I think there was only one waitress for the whole place. But she was kind and courteous and checked in frequently. Our food took quite awhile to arrive, but we had one dish that needed to be baked so it took longer. Our meals came with the house salad, which had a super garlicky oil based dressing. That was not a problem for us, because we LOVE garlic! I had the tortellacci and my husband had the baked manicotti. Both were very tasty. The pasta was very fresh and had great texture. Overall we were very pleased with our meals. I would have liked to try dessert but was too full! Maybe next time, we will definitely be back!

Glad we got out to Roman Villa finally. Neat little local restaurant with some great history. The place is small and we seemed to have arrived just before the crowds. Only 3 tables to choose from when we got there 15 min after open. Our pizza took some time but we enjoyed some wine and beer while we waited. The service was fantastic. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Pizza was very good and I had leftovers with a medium for myself. Next time I’m trying the lasagna. Highly recommend this joint as the atmosphere does not dissapoint!

Roma Villa is a somewhat smaller family italian restaurant that has been in business for over 50 years. The pasta was fresh and Marinara sauce seemed homemade however it was bland and under seasoned. Overall a good meal can be found here. I like supporting establishments with a rich history and long traditions, just wish the food and service were a little better.

I’m being generous with an extra star. I’ve lived here for a good portion of my life and have always seen and driven past this place. It’s very unassuming and there is usually a huge line waiting to get in. Good sign right? Wrong. There are a ton of regulars that eat here and know the menu like the back of their hand. Which isn’t too hard considering that it’s mainly different pasta shapes with the same bland sauce all over it. Our server was good so no complaint there. But if you want to hit up an Italian place with a great menu, don’t come here. If you’ve always driven past and were curious, then by all means, check it out. I don’t regret eating here, I just don’t plan on coming back.

We came in on a Saturday evening just after 5pm. After about 10 minutes, people started flooding in like crazy. This small restaurant was jumping! So, so busy. This is a small place with fairly small tables. A very beefy person or a very tall person might not feel comfortable in the booths. There is a small semi circle counter with very small stools to sit at to eat. Even I might have been a bit cramped sitting at the counter and I’m barely 5’2″. Service was very good. As mentioned, the dining area was very busy. But our server was super pleasant and kept our water glasses filled. She managed to swing by a handful of times during our meal to make sure we were not wanting for anything. Overall, the food was very basic Italian-American cuisine. I chose ravioli with tomato sauce. The ravioli was homemade and was a bit bland. The tomato sauce was very basic but was good. The table had crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese to liven up the food. I added salt to my food which I normally do not do. My husband ordered tortelacci which is a cheese and spinach mixture stuffed inside of circle shaped pasta and served in a cream sauce. I tried it and thought it was ok. The option for either a house salad or Caesar salad with your meal. I opted for the Caesar. It was just ok. The dressing was garlicky enough but a bit of anchovy would have really made it much, much better. Also, I would have liked freshly shaved parmesan on the salad as apposed to the powdery kind. Overall, this was an a-ok place to eat.

We love Roman Villa and the pizza. Amber has the most amazing memory and always knows what we want.

It’s a good neighborhood sort of place. Very small so expect a wait on a Saturday night. The staff is always spot on as far as service and attentiveness. Comfort food hot and plentiful. Marinara sauce a bit bland. Cannolis fantastic. Love the barrel stools.

Absolute favorite little Italian place in town. Awesome funky tiny little spot, fantastic pizza and tasty salad… Everything I’ve had is good. Lasagna takes forever because it’s actually cooked to order, not some microwaved nonsense. This is one of those local gems. Been there forever, for good reason.

This is a gem of a Mom and Pop restaurant. Full of cozy ambiance, charm and nostalgia… the food and service do not disappoint. We got there right when they opened(thankfully we’d been warned about the wait) and were seated immediately. The dish recommendations and courtesy of our staff was exemplary. Our party split 3 dishes, the veggie tortellini, chicken and a special house pizza. All the sauces were flavorful and well seasoned. Salad and bread were delicious. Some folks have complained of salad and bread and I completely disagree – the food is authentic and prepared with care. Do not come here expecting food at chain restaurants – it’s different, tasty and the real deal. Plus, there IS a «made to order» mentality… they make many of the pastas themselves, all the sauces including their house dressing. Its all worth the wait.

Best lasagna by far and all four of our party agree! Quaint little joint that is worth the drive. The patronage speaks for itself as it is always a steady wait with quick turnaround. Great service!

It took me three tries to concretely form my opinion on this restaurant. It is ok. The inside is very tiny and cramped. If you go during a busy time, you will feel like you are packed in a sardine can with screaming children and full-grown adults. Pile on top of this if you go during the summer. Its like a co-ed locker room. There is no AC and only a few spinning fans to give relief. The furniture is made for humans no bigger than 5’5″. Its like chairs and tables for a 1950’s Catholic elementary boarding school. The food is ok. They make their own sauce, which I really hoped was better. It is a bit runny, like the top of a ketchup bottle when you don’t shake it. Some of their pastas are homemade and some are not. I’ve had their homemade raviolis and I expected a soft, fresh pasta. It was the opposite, it was hard and not good at all. And it is expensive. Its just not worth it in my opinion. Some pastas are obviously store bought and its almost offensive to charge me $ 12 for a serving of store bought pasta with their homemade sauce on it. One thing that is worth the price and wait is the lasagna. It is very good and cooked to order. One time I ordered it was over-cooked and burned. I have a friend who absolutely loves this place. I think he gets caught up in the unique atmosphere and friendly staff. Giving this place 3 stars was a stretch for me.

A true local gem. Good, basic Italian fare. Don’t think the décor has changed since the 60’s, but don ‘t care. Best, most consistent pizza in town. A must visit for a real«taste of Colorado Springs«.

This is a great little place, so get there early our you won’t find a seat. We ordered 2 pizza’s and some ravoli’s that were all outstanding. Heck for the price we even got a half way decent salad for our ravoli’s. They were super busy but one waitress covered it all and still had a minute for us when we had a question. La Bella Vita is still my favorite italian eatery in the Springs but this one is right up there also.

As someone who has looked and looked… around the springs for some decent Italian food… I’m finally happy to say … Yes I have found decent Italian food. Roman villa is no little Italy but it sure beats the hell out of Olive Garden and the rest of those chain places. If your not looking you can definitely miss it. Situated in what looks to be an old house, it has maybe 3 parking spots out front with the rest in the gravel around back. You walk in and it’s tiny(and at 5 pm on a Thursday… It was already packed)… They had thankfully 1 table left which my companion and I took. The menu is small And mostly consists of pasta’s(of course homemade!), and pizza… There is maybe 2 – 3 ‘meat’ dishes. This was fine by me because I was in the mood for some pasta… And they did not disappoint. Both my counterpart and I got a ravioli dish… For the life of me I can’t remember the name… It started with a t… And was a basically a ravioli filled with cheese and spinach covered in a creamy tomato sauce. It was delicious and a perfect portion… I ate that bad boy up! I do have to throw out a shout to the salad… Get it with the house Italian and blue cheese crumbs! If I wasn’t set on having pasta for dinner… Just eating this salad would have made me happy. To end the night I indulged in a cannoli… Not the best I’ve had(like I said this isn’t little Italy) but still very good. Overall I’m happy to find a regular spot to satisfy my Italian cravings… Can’t wait to try the pizza next time!
