Brand new to the area and we stopped in for an Italian Beef for my husband and myself and hot dogs for the kids. Amazing customer service and wonderful food. We will be back :)

Being from the Chicago area, I’m always very critical of these mom and pop delis. Johnny B’s did not disappoint. Best Italian Beef outside the state of Illinois! The food was truly amazing and the customer service was even better. We will definitely be back!

Never had a Chicago dog before, was pleasantly surprised(not usually one to put many non meat products on my hot dog). Fries were good, onion rings were really good. Service was fast and friendly. Dinner for 2 was reasonably priced. Will go back and try the polish dog.

Gonna need to return. This really is wonderful as well as the hot dogs are wonderful. I’m constantly in search of an excellent dog, which might only fit the bill. Better keep a look out for this place. It’s great possibility of supplying the springs with what sonic tried to do for the Chicago dog.

Me and my fiancé just moved here & decided to try out this place! He was born and raised in Chicago & said it was just like Chicago! I got the dog & had a good snap to it and was so good! He said the beef was spot on! Authentic toppings. We met the two owners and they were very pleasant & had so much passion for putting out good food! We will definitely go back & would recommend to anyone who wants a taste of Chicago!

Just noticed a new«Vienna Beef» eatery in town, so naturally I had to stop and try their Chicago-style dogs. The young guy & gal behind the counter were very friendly(and moved with an appropriate sense purpose). I did find out that Johnny B’s is family owned, and not a chain. Well, I am a guy who purposely selects airline connections through Chicago, just to get my fix of Chicago dogs from a kiosk. I am happy to say that now, I don’t have to fly through Chicago any more, I am going to Johnny B’s. Next time, I will try a different sandwich from their menu of authentic Chicago cuisine.

My wife and I both had hotdogs that were less than warm. When she Tom hers back the two folks behind the counter just kind of looked at her and did not offer any solution. Reading other reviews this is not the first occurrence.

This place still delivers the goods. They have recently changed the bread used on the Italian Beef’s and now it is even closer to what you would get in Chicago. I’m enrolled in school at CTU, so it is a mandatory stop in at least once a week.

I’ve been here a few times now and both times were positive. The first time I got a chilli cheese dog, which was plenty good, especially as there aren’t a lot of options for chilli cheese dogs in this area(not to mention Colorado as a whole, at least when compared to my hometown of Los Angeles where the chilli dogs are so plentiful you’d think they were growing on the trees). The second time around I got a Chicago dog which was great, and a side of chilli cheese fries, because I just can’t get enough chilli cheese. Anyway, the food has been good so far, so I’ll definitely be back to try something else.

Surprised they offer meals but don’t deliver drinks. The owner really does take care of its customers concerns on a personal level making you feel valued!

I had a Chicago dog & he had a chili dog combo. Great service, attention, nice, clean place & atmosphere. Not a long wait for our food. Our only issue is that our hot dogs were not hot, nor were the buns. Luke warm, maybe? Husband said his bun was hard/stale. I know the cold stuff on a Chicago dog can cause the hot dog to get cold. Anyway, maybe next time we’ll hope for a hot, hot dog & hot bun. BTW, we love your fries!

Surprisingly fresh and good hot dogs and Italian-beef sandwiches. Celery-salt is legit as well as the«neon relish». Dogs are not tallow-y like most places in town but smooth and well-balanced. Italian beef sandwich is surprisingly well-seasoned! Most Coloradans won’t like this because of the amazing flavors that they’re not used to as it seems Colorado Springs favorite flavor is kindergarten paste. This place, however, is amazing. Chicagoans rejoice! No complaints. A+.

Decided to give them one last try at lunch today… it really ought to be called Johnny B’s Room Temperature Dogs. The Hot Dog is simply not hot… and the bun is wet and falls apart not holding the dog. It has been this way all four times I have tried them. Freddie’s has a much much better Chicago Dog.

Great Chicago style restaurant serving great Chicago style food. My favorite is the Chicago dog, it’s made with promo ingredients from the Vienna beef dog to the peppers. I think it’s a fair value. If you want quality Chicago style food. If you want fast food at fast food price, you are in luck because there is a Wendy’s and 7 – 11 right next to it.

Really really like this place. Staff is friendly and the food is really good. I always go for the Chicago dog. The bun is moist and the toppings are fresh. Only complaint is that it is really expensive and the staff could speed it up a little. In regard to the price. The hot dog is $ 4 with tax fries are $ 2 and a drink is $ 2. To get filled up(in their defense I’m 6′ 210lbs) it takes two dogs fries and a drink. At that point it’s $ 12! The pastrami which is just served on their hot dog bun is $ 8! Now it is one of the best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had, but not a lot of food for so much money. Lower the price point and speed it up some and everything will be perfect. Do NOT change the recipes though. Very tasty.

This is a smart restaurant. Until eight months ago I never lived anywhere but Illinois and I had never even considered how much I would miss the Chicago-style food when we moved to Colorado. I guess you«don’t know what ya got til it’s gone»! ;) It seems like there are quite a few transplants from the Midwest in the Springs and I think they are going to be so happy with Johnny B’s! First of all, they have big photos of Chicago on the walls– I loved them and felt very nostalgic. They also play blues music which is totally cool. I think my favorite part of the décor is the Chicago area map they have on the wall where you can put a pushpin from where you are from! I am very homesick and this felt very special and satisfying to me. :) It’s a very thoughtful touch in my opinion. They have a small and focused menu. I was SO pleased with my Italian beef sandwich with sweet peppers. It was just enough«wet» and every bite seemed to taste better and better. To me, it tasted just like it should! It costs $ 9.50(and it comes ala carte) which is more than you would pay in Chicago or the suburbs but makes sense because it’s a specialty item around here and it also tastes worth it to me! Personally I didn’t love my hotdog– it was good but not amazing(like the Italian beef was) and just seemed a little pale to me. But the bun was right– with the poppyseeds on it! They also have the exact correct toppings for the Chicago dogs as they should. The fries are OK– a little thicker than I like but I don’t think there is such a thing as «Chicago fries» so I think they are fine. They also have cheesy beef, and have the combo where you get sausage and beef on the same sandwich(my husband already is planning on getting that next time). They have Pepsi products and iced tea. Their website is really cute– check it out. The owner told us they’ve only been open 4 weeks. I hope(and expect) them to do fantastic business. I have told so many people about this place already and we were only there 16 hours ago! :) I’m so thankful for a taste of my hometown in the Springs!!!(And non-Chicago people are sure to love the food too, no doubt!)
