10********** Amazing! Staff: Amazing Service: Amazing Food: beyond words!!! The portions a huge, super taste with fresh ingredients! I had the omelette with extra bacon. Now THIS is what I call bacon. My hubby had the burrito with the famous Hreen Chili sauce! A must try! It was amazing. Not too hot and you still had a taste of the chilis! The servers were on it! Refills, dishes and asked if all was okay! The facility is clean! My table too for a change! Empty plates were removed quickly. Even my coffee qas good! CASHONLY! Absolutely okay! Love it! I am old school. German saying: «Bares ist Wahres»! Meaning: cash is the real thing! If you forget or don’t know it for newcomers, there is a ATM in the restaurant. Kuddos! We are coming back! Make sure you are hungry

If I had one place on earth to have my last meal, it would be at King Chef. Six stars. It’s the only reason I carry cash on me. The best cooked food. Ever. Always just a homerun, whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, or midnight cravings. King chef it’s the best American diner food in the state. Been here probably two dozen times and have never had a complaint. The grump it’s just the perfect mound of meat, eggs, hash browns and cheese with green chili on top. The over medium eggs are fantastic when you toast break the yolk with done today The steak and eggs, while a little on the pricy side, is well worth it. The green chili fries make you want to just yell from a tall mountain. The Reuben made my mother cry it was so beautiful. It just can’t be beat. I love King Chef, and want the world to know. I ate only scrambled eggs until I came here, now I only get them over medium, because the chef blesses every egg.

After rolling into town from Winter Park, the wife and I were starving. We also had some time to kill before we could check in at the nearby Mining Exchange. We took a short walk to King’s Diner on the recommendation of a co-worker who used to live in the area. To me, the place had an Austin-vibe despite being in downtown Colorado Springs. The placed was fairly busy for 2 pm on Monday. I ordered the mini breakfast burrito which is definitely enough to feed one person. My wife not in the mood for breakfast, ordered the burger. The burrito was pretty good but not the best I’ve had. Apparently, it is the best in the springs. My wife also enjoyed the burger. This is a solid breakfast/lunch joint downtown. I’d recommend it if that’s what you’re looking for. One tip is to bring cash because they don’t take cards. They do have an ATM site but you may get dinged with a fee.

This place is a real treat. Awesome, truly personable staff.(Felicia is so cool). The good doesn’t stop there! Everything we tasted was above average-outstanding. Green chili so good we actually ate breakfast at King’s 3 days in a row! A must for breakfast/lunch downtown Colorado Springs

The bacon was the best! Tried the breakfast burrito smothered with gravy and it was a pretty heaping portion. The frozen strawberry lemonade was to die for. The service here was really quick and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Favorite breakfast place in Colorado! The thing is delicious and the ¼ is a decent size. I challenge you to try a full order! I can’t finish a full order. I had to knock a star off just because they’re a cash only establishment which can be inconvenient at times. Yes they provide an ATM but still inconvenient.

Saw it on drive ins diners and dives put it on the vacation list. It was amazing. Our family of 5 sat at the bar so we could watch the cooks. Two of the staff consistently checked on us and chatted with us. The portions were huge. I had the mini burrito and my 10 yr old had the full, we both finished. My husband couldn’t finish the ‘Thing’, even with help. The green chili was great. The gravy was very good, I’ve never had gravy on breakfast before. As we were leaving the staff engaged us on tips for dinner, sites to check out and drinking plenty of water. Overall, FANTASTIC experience!

Great place to eat breakfast or brunch, orrrr for the munchies after the club shuts down. Think delicious and filling starchy breakfast food, topped with great green chile and/or gravy. Open until around 4 am(see the front door hours«open until 4am-ish»). There are good lunch options, mostly sandwiches(like the tuna melt), none of which I’ve tried, but they are there and look pretty good. They are cash-only, but they have an ATM located inside to save you. I really love it for filling breakfast food, but it can get a bit crowded(especially once the nightclubs close) and be a bit loud.

Some of the best food I have ever had. Their Portions are huge so I usually go with a ½ order and I still have a lot left over, I would definitely recommend!

Okay, so the food is pretty good but the portions are stupid huge! Like ridiculous! My friend and I both had the half orders of the hash and neither of us could come close to finishing it. I see now why they offer the quarter portions. The service was good because they have someone walking around that seems to only pay attention to drinks, so my coffee couldn’t get past the halfway point. I will say that the coffee was pretty terrible though so I gave up on it and went to the Story Coffee shop across the street.(Go there!!) This place was ridiculously loud, so if you don’t like to hear yourself think, this is the place for you. It seemed pretty clean, but the décor was super tacky. This is one of those places that you go to at 2am, not for brunch. It’s also the type of place that you go to once. I won’t be back.

This was my first time visiting here and must say I will be back! Everything was great from the food to the warm welcome I received when I hit the door. The food was fresh, hot and tasty!!! Oh yeah bring your appetite!!! You get your money’s worth here and a bit more! This place can be busy, so you may have to wait just a few minutes for a seat.

My boyfriend and I firmly believe that Colorado handily owns the breakfast scene for all of the US of A. King’s Chef Diner is a very close second to our current fave — The Denver Biscuit Co. Why we love King’s Chef: The French Toast — believe me when I say that I am a French Toast connoisseur. I love it and I usually order it every time I eat out for breakfast. There was something about the custard that they dip it in that just blew my mind here. The flavor was wonderful. Jason ordered The Grump and their country gravy was so good that even the Pioneer Woman might consider changing her recipe. I had the Breakfast Burrito with their Green Chili on the side. Their green chili was legit! Deserving an honorable mention are the portion sizes. Most of their breakfasts come in full, ½ and ¼ orders. Jason ordered the ½ order with his and his serving was as big as any full-sized omelette you’d get at IHOP! Nuts! He could have ordered the ¼ and walked away full. I ordered the mini serving of my burrito and couldn’t finish it. Maybe because I devoured all but one slice of our French Toast, too…(#fattypattystatus). The coffee was great as was the service! Again, a solid breakfast offering in CO.

So many hash browns. My husband and I had just moved here and we wanted to take the people who helped us drive a car out to breakfast. It was super crowded on a Sunday and we had our baby so I was worried about getting a table for the 4 of us + infant. We waited about 10 minutes before they found a table for us with the side of the table for the baby sling. Tables are tight and there is only a couple inch gap between you and your neighbor. I got the grump… because its named after me. J/k j/k. It was a HUGE pile of food. So many hash browns. I literally kept tasting the hash browns the rest of the day. I got ½ gravy and ½ green chile which was a good choice so I could taste both. Our bill for the 4 of us was $ 100 so pretty hefty for breakfast. You have to wait in line to pay which would have been better if our server could have taken our payment.

Amazing Green Chili My husband and I split the Green Chili Cheeseburger with a side of fries. My husband, who is no stranger to burgers claimed this to be one of the best burgers he has ever had. I came here solely for the Green Chili and it exceeded my expectations. The friendliness of the wait staff and the chill, eclectic atmosphere make King’s Chef Diner a must try!

Man vs. Food sized breakfasts. I had The Grump, which has everything delicious — eggs, hash browns, meat, GRAVY, etc. Delicious, but its the portions that get the 5 star. A helpful guide: ¼ Order = Normal person hungry ½ Order = Starving to death hungry Full Order = «I’m a sinner and must punish myself» hungry I’m a big dude(6’4″, 250) and I barely finished a ½ order. But they gave me a sticker for cleaning my plate, so y’know, worth it.

Weekend hangover(s), meet your maker! Date of Visit: 7÷19÷15 After a successful friends’ wedding in CO Springs, I found myself with a headache the size of Neptune and morning hunger pangs to match. I was looking for something simple I could grab on the drive back to Denver, and came across this gem, sporting 4.5 stars over 250+ reviews. Lemme tell you — Stats don’t lie. Not being familiar with King’s, nor able to find a menu online, I went with the Breakfast Burrito, as it was referenced all over recent reviews. While picking up my order I was impressed by the décor and friendliness of both the hostesses and gents behind the counter. After a long drive home, I sat down to enjoy the fruits of delayed gratification, and WOW — Best breakfast burrito I’d ever had, no question. Even after sitting on the passenger seat(glaring at me) for an hour, this was one of the more flavorful dishes I’d had in a long time. Huge portion, crispy potatoes, both sausage AND bacon(#blessed), just the right amount of egg and cheese, and serious sauces, both gravy and green chili(order the half/half). Not many burritos are worthy of 3 paragraphs, but King’s certainly is.

Always a favorite! And you never leave hungry. There’s something comforting about a good breakfast(no matter the time of day!) And King’s Chef doesn’t disappoint. They seem to get it right every time. But beware of the green chili… it can sneak up and getcha!
