I was told by staff that they were open till 5 the day that I drove down from Denver to pick up supplies. They were closed when I got there at 4. Their answering machine also said 5. Their sign says 3. I took off work to drive down there and wasted gas. I’ll never do business with these people. Super disappointed

As a creator of chain maille it is difficult to find suppliers of quality jump rings. The challenge is even more difficult for me since I am located in Australia and the market here is a lot smaller. After trying many suppliers, I thought I was onto a winner with C&T Designs. The experience starts out well. I placed an order with the company and within 24 hours the order was shipped. International postage can often take upwards of two weeks but the order arrived within a week(at a cost of $ 12.75USD which I considered to be reasonable). The items I ordered were good in quality and I was pleased with the service so far. But this is where things start to go astray. The rings I purchased were not the right size for the project I had in mind. The thing with chain maille is that you need to be very precise with the ring sizes you order because even a millimetre can be the difference between success and failure. But I had fastidiously checked to ensure I had the right rings. So, I thought it was a good idea to contact the supplier to see if they could shed light on what the issue may be. This is where C&T Designs really drop the ball. Their customer service and communication is appalling and downright unacceptable. After sending off an email that outlined the issue and even included a photo for reference, I received an email the next day telling me that they couldn’t determine the problem based on a photo I provided. Furthermore they shifted blame onto me and said that I didn’t order the correct rings, which I know I did. I responded via email to show my source for ring sizes and prove I had not made the error. Two days have passed and I have not had a response. It was not my intention to obtain a refund. I ordered the rings for a specific project and simply wanted to finish that project. I contacted C&T in the hope that they could provide an alternative product or quick fix and I was even happy to pay extra. I work in customer service and am expected to provide an exceptional level of service. I expect that same level of service when I am a customer. And providing quick shipping and decent products is nothing when you don’t value your customers. I will not shop with them again.

I’ve been a customer for several years now and the product is consistently outstanding from batch to batch. I participate in Facebook polls, follow on Twitter, and love their innovations with UV treatments and design ideas. The downside is the online customer service. They are very strict about sales, coupons, and have hard opening and closing times for everything. While I realize this makes life easier for the employees, it makes me feel like I am always inconveniencing them as a customer. As a result, I only buy from them when I can’t get product elsewhere.

I absolutely love this company! My friend and I actually have considered making a specific trip to Colorado just to visit the store and I recently introduced my other friend to their online shop as well. I hope if they should ever expand that they bring a shop to NYC. All the places in the fashion/beading district and no one specializes in chainmail supplies. I’ve bought mostly jump rings from them, which they have a great selection and they come clean in the packaging(if you’ve bought from other companies you know what I mean) and at a high quality. I recently started buying niobium headpins from them for a new design I’ve been doing and no one compares at all to their niobium colors and quality. Their shipping is very fast and their customer service is top notch. If they sold some of the other stuff I use from chainmail suppliers, I’d exclusively use C and T entirely.

Started a new hobby of making chain maille stuff. Initially limiting myself to relatively easy(and inexpensive) projects, but would like to weave myself a hauberk eventually. The thought of forty pounds and over 40,000 links makes me go into convultions. These guys speciality(I think) is their square-wire jump rings. Sure, you could use standard round or go crazy with half-round(also half the strength and effective gauge) or oval/square/triangular(which is really suited for beading). The square jump rings tend to make a design more masculine, especially in the larger gauges. They also stock findings, tools, online and hardcopy tutorials as well as a selection of jump rings in argentinum silver, anodized aluminum and niobium, bronze(phosphor, so it’s got that nice coppery color, not so «yellow») and stainless steel. If there were anything I didn’t like, it would be that they don’t list their stuff in metric, so get out your old PeeChee and start doing some standard to metric conversions? PeeChee? Sorry… just use the app on your phone…
