I decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. I am so glad I did. The sushi was amazing! I read one review about having to wait. The space is small but the food is well worth the wait. I guess I got lucky as my party was sat and served quickly.

I’ve been to many Japanese/Sushi bistros all over the world, and Ken Sushi is very good. The fish is fresh and the rice is done perfectly. Their tempura is real tempura and not too heavy. The wasabi is fresh and smooth, not clumpy or oxidized. All the ingredients in the special roles are very fresh tasting as well. I don’t think the price is too high considering the location is in a vacation area of FL. The wait staff is very busy but they were timely in their service. I would certainly eat here again. A bit of advice, beat the rush because they can only accommodate about 40 – 45.

This was some of the freshest sushi I have had in awhile… great service and wonderful food… I loved the baba roll and will definitely return on my next business trip to Clearwater!

Sushi was awesome. Really enjoyed the Mexican roll. Only negative was another customer who apparently has a voice volume control issue.

I enjoy the food very much the sashimi is fresh and pleasing to the pallet. Space is limited as is parking but once you sit down to eat the minor things go away. Being new to the area this place was a treat and walking distance from my home. I definitely will be back multiple times I might add. Next time I’m eating in.

Excellent, I can’t speak for sushi as I had the Tom yum soup with vegetables and the soba with vegetables, but super flavor full and top notch staff.

I really can’t give them a review since I didn’t taste there food. I went there after reading all the great reviews and everyone was raving about how good this sushi place is. I had to try it. I waited 45 minutes and walked out. The place wasn’t that crowded, but they were making the take out orders before the dine in customers. I thought this was a mistake on there part. Dine-in customers should come first! My kids were getting crabby so I cancelled my order, and walked out;however, the waitress was understanding and didn’t charge me for the beer.

Stopped in again to this little gem. Had the fried rice entrée with salad, miso soup and various Sushi rolls. Went in after the lunch crowd and they were steadily busy. Had to wait a bit for the dine in order but it was definitely worth the wait. Love this place.

Love this small restaurant. I can see why this place is always busy, the sushi is so good, with great presentation. I had tuna wrapped in zucchini, this place as the best sushi in the area. Awesome .very reasonable price. I don’t give 5 stars too often. They deserve it.

Although I’m very bias when it comes to sushi because I frequent Pisces Sushi Bistro, we wanted sushi for lunch and Pisces is not open for lunch. Kens Asian Bistro is ducked off in a little plaza. Not very noticeable but right in the middle of the plaza. When walking in, it was different from the outside appearance in a good way. Not to say the outside was bad or the plaza looks terrible, just saying that inside the bistro has a calmness to it and very serene. We were greeted immediately and told we can sit where we liked. We decided on a half booty table which the booth side was extremely comfortable. The service overall by the staff was very nice, calm and patient. We ordered the lunch special which was your choice of two sushi rolls paired with miso soup or house salad to start. The miso soup was very good. My lady liked it a lot. Said it was one of the best miso soups she’s had. Not too salty and not too brothy were her words. The sushi was very good as well. My daughter who is 3 years old loves sushi so it was her validation that let us know it was good. My only issue is that the Crunchy Spicy Tuna roll wasn’t really spicy. But that’s me. I got a real spicy tongue.

Best sushi I have had in a long time! Prices are reasonable, and the fish, uni, and raw scallops melted in our mouths. Everything we had was delicious!

I ordered the Baba roll, it is a cooked one… What can I say, I worry. Lol anyways it was AMAZING! I usually get bored with sushi and end up wasting half of the roll. Not this time. Great place to get sushi!

I was going to come back, try some more rolls, and then write my review since most people feel this is as good as it gets. Then I thought about it, and that wouldn’t give an honest account of my first visit. So, I’m going to write this review, eventually go back, and then update the review if anything changes. I stopped in today for a late lunch, but the place still had a pretty good crowd at a quarter to two. I was promptly waited upon, I ordered my drink, and took a look at the menu. I noticed they have some Thai dishes, but I was interested in their signature rolls, so I ordered two of them: The King Cobra, and The Lovely. After I ate the salad and about ten minutes passed, I received the Lovely roll. It had snow crab, avocado topped with white fish, eel sauce, sweet chili sauce and then adorned with scallions. It was good. It was really, really good. This place was going to get a four star rating at least, and I was now really excited about the King Cobra roll. I waited. I waited some more. The waitress came over and advised that the King Cobra roll takes a while to prepare due to the deep frying, I advised that I understood. After twenty minutes or maybe even longer, the sushi chef himself delivered my King Cobra roll, and said something about having to fix a mistake. The King Cobra consists of lobster, cream cheese, crab, avocado, deep fried asparagus, spicy mayo and eel sauce. It wasn’t good. The whole thing was overcooked, and I couldn’t finish it. It is also their most expensive roll. Had I ordered any other roll, I’d probably be singing their praises like everyone else. The Lovely roll was truly great after all. However, I’m not going to kick myself for not ordering something other than the King Cobra, all of your rolls should be delicious. I will eventually make it back, but in the meantime, I can only go with A-OK.

This is a tiny little place with room for about 30 patrons. It’s nice and clean and well lit. We were there at a Friday dinner rush and the three sushi chefs and the three waitstaff we’re doing a fairly good job of keeping up with the full restaurant. It took more than 20 minutes for us to get our first appetizer, but watching all of the other yummy sushi concoctions go by helps pass the time. We had the Alaskan crab tempura appetizer. The tempura was nice and light and crunchy; just the way tempura should be. My only complaint was that there were only three medium sized pieces of crab in the appetizer. Probably a reasonable amount of crab for the price of the appetizer, but if you want a *lot* of tempura crab, this may not be your best choice. I had the Tokyo Tower. I don’t remember all of the components, but there were a lot of them, and they were awesome! Very tasty, very flavorful, even without any soy or wasabi. The construction and presentation were spectacular. Holly had a red curry chicken Bento box. At first I thought the $ 23 price tag felt excessive, but when it came it was well worth it. It was an enormous amount of varied types of food. There was the red curry chicken, of course, and three gyoza, some more vegetable tempura, a pile of rice to go with the curry, three pieces of Nigiri sushi, and soup or salad. It was all delicious. The miso soup was particularly good. The service was good. Because it’s such a small place, all three of the waitstaff were helping everybody in the restaurant at different points. We’ll definitely be back.

Wow! You have to try this place. There’s a good reason it has 5 stars. As it’s a sushi place we ordered… you guessed it, sushi. The sushi is really good here, and they get adventurous with different tastes. We also had several appetizers and some Thai food to try several things, and it was all good. What I really liked here was the small details. They take care of everything and add flare to things you may not get elsewhere. It may not seem like much, but when we sat down they had these tiny ceramic fish on the table for placing your chopsticks. When they delivered the drinks they were full of crushed ice and had the straw wrapper twirled around the straw. It’s little details, but they can take an ordinary water and make it look fun. I would highly recommend trying it here

I was stationed in Japan for about 2 years and thought i was ruined for life to never be able to find the same high level of sushi quality in america… thank God i was wrong lol. This place is hands down the best quality sushi I’ve ever had in America particularly at such a reasonable price point — amazingly fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, great environment and extremely friendly staff. if you find a place with better sushi, please tell me — but I’m blown away this awesome place exists right in clearwater! I don’t use the 5 stars lightly. I would use 6 if I could. so happy with that meal

After my first bite of our hurricandy roll at Ken Sushi, I was immediately so depressed that we had not found this spot sooner. I was relieved when my husband assured me that they’ve only been open for a few months… I felt better knowing that other people weren’t enjoying some of the world’s best sushi for years before I was. We sat at the sushi bar and asked the sushi chef to prepare us whatever he wanted without tempura, krab, or cream cheese. We figured he could give us the best of the best. We started with the hurricandy roll, which was pretty much the best sushi roll I have ever eaten. Then we had the rainbow roll but with spicy tuna instead of California roll. Lastly we had the dragon eel roll. All of the rolls were truly phenomenal… especially the huricandy. The fish was fresh and flavors were perfect. We also got an order of uni nigiri, which was our only disappointment as it just didn’t seem as fresh as we are used to. The service was excellent… both our server and the sushi chef were extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. I cannot recommend Ken Sushi enough. Truly some of the best sushi we have ever had.

AREYOUKIDDINGMEWITHTHISPLACE??? OK, Huge sushi aficionado. Had a hard time finding a really good sushi place in the Clearwater area, which meant driving to St. Pete or Tampa… UNTILNOW!!! The place is in a small strip mall which doesn’t seem like much. When you walk in, the place is relatively small, but very clean and people are very nice. The menu is extensive with all of the regular sushi rolls you would expect to find, but also has a lot of ‘unusual’ rolls or creations I’ve never seen anywhere. Of course, had to try those. I had 2. The first is their amazing sushi sandwich. Yep, those 2 words seem to go together like shrimp and desert, but figured, hey… why not. Plating was gorgeous. Very artistic. HOLY #$%^$ CRAP! That is insanely good! Felt like slapping somebody it was so good. Felt like slapping myself it was so good! I may have! I don’t remember. I blanked out for a few minutes from pure joy. Had to come back down to earth, so decided to try my second roll, which was the Blossom. It said it had no rice, so I asked them to make it with rice, which they were glad to do. Well, that didn’t freaking work at all!!! That was even better than the first. Slapping, blanking out, stupid look on my face, eyes closed, moaning with every bite, making other patrons feel a little uncomfortable. Sorry!!! Not my fault! Talk to the chefs! Oh yeah, new favorite sushi place in Tampa. Yep, beats all the others hands down! Oh and by the way, ordered it to go a few days later. The presentation is the Togo boxes were gorgeous as well, which I’ve never seen before, and tasted just as good. You HAVE to try this place, no matter where you are in the Tampa Bay Area. WOW, WOW, WOW, WOWOWOWOW!

The lunch menu has several excellent deals. They have a cheap 2 roll special and cheap bento boxes. The sushi was pretty good. My friends liked the curry in the bento box as well. The only drawback was that the waitress took awhile to take our order. I plan to continue to visit for lunch often.
