PRICEY… I don’t get it but this place keeps opening new locations. Find the menu to serve small portions, overcharge & taste very generic. Someone explain to me why I wait 15 — 20 minutes for my order and generally am always disappointed? Hope you have better luck!

Pricey but delicious! My go to lunches under $ 5: Shredded beef toastada(beans, beef, lettuce, pico, cheese) 3 rolled tacos Mixed burrito(shredded beef and beans) The shredded beef is cooked very well. Its tender and flavorful and you’ll find pieces of green chile in your food. Delicious! Call ahead– waits tend to be long for a taco shop

I’ve been going to lolitas for years, I’m glad to say my burrito stills tastes pretty good and I haven’t had any issues with the service so far. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because of the price, it is expensive

Great location pitted right off the freeway. But by far the smallest out of all the ones in SD. If you’re planning to dine in, dont. Call ahead and get it to go. There are only like 5 tables in there. Busiest location I’ve seen. Food is great, they take their time making their food and the quality is good. Portions could be better, the amount of meat they put in your food is substantially less compared to other taco shops. I like how they offer a small and large size portion of fries/chips orders. Try their«2 in 1» burrito(two beef tacos inside a carne asada burrito) or their tsunami fries/chips(surf and turf style-ish). The prices are just way too high for a taco shop and they seem to increase them every 6 months. You can’t pour your own salsa here and you can’t pour your own drink either(not a surprise due to the size of the place but it’s good to point out). If you’ve eaten a lot of mexican food(and you should if you’re a SD native), you’d know that you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere.

The carne asada fries are so good here! The meat isn’t chewy like most places! Best place I’ve found so far!

As a San Diegan Native, Lolita’s taco shop is still one of the best ones around when it comes to Mexican food. We’ve been eating at Lolita’s(different locations) for years. It wasn’t until we started going to the shop off Telegraph canyon Rd that was losing its quality– both in food and service. On my usual California Burrito order, I always request to add guacamole but they LITERALLY gave just a SLIVER of it, you can’t even taste it in the burrito! Not once have I been to a Mexican shop who does that?! Def not worth the extra $ 1.10 they charge to add the guacamole! We also asked for a little more extra hot sauce for two burritos, then the lady straight up tells us «there’s already 4 in the bag» then they charge us extra. This place is disappointing and if you go here, don’t expect the same consistency as the other Locations in San Diego & good luck finding parking. Makes sense that their reviews/ratings aren’t as great as the other locations either.

I go to the lolitas on telegraph canyon road. The staff is alwYs very friendly and waiting to assist you. I can’t have other Mexican food now that I’ve had Lolitas. Sadly, I do not live in Chula Vista but will make the drive down to have Lolitas. I’ve never been a fan of carne asada fries because of the quality of the food, well I’m now in love with them. Great job on your fries!

This is a classic taqueria a few miles north of the border and conveniently located off the 805 freeway. We were clued in by a local and placed the order to go. The order was ready when we got there, as promised, and was correct. Big kudos for that. The shop is small inside with a few booths and the counter. You have your choice of red or green salsa – asking for both is an acceptable choice. The cashier was friendly, and our food was packaged nicely. Price is about average – not too high or too low. We ordered their go-to carne asada fries, a taco combo, a chicken chimichanga combo with boiled beans(instead of refried), and a burrito. Everything was decent but the carne asada fries were just okay. The cheese was barely melted, the asada was very grizzly, but the flavor was great. The food is a bit greasy and salty – but that’s the usual at legit taquerias up and down the state. If you want basic filling and flavorful food, this is a good place. If you are looking for gourmet or a mouthgasm. unless you are craving good solid food, this is not your place. I’ll stop by again if it is convenient. but otherwise, my adventurous side will demand I try a new place to Unilocal about.

Wow I am so disappointed and angry at this place I don’t know what happened I would always come here and get dinner for the entire family! I haven’t been in a while so I went for dinner tonight and ordered a Large Carne Asada Fries to go. When I picked up the order I did not check it until I reached my car, when I went to check it I realized it looked like they tried to give me a small order in a large box as soon as I noticed I went back in and the«manager» with no name tag on accused me of eating some then saying that it has been 20 mins since I ordered! The time on the ticket was 6:01 which is when they started the ticket and now I’m writing this review at 6:23 after already getting accused by this so called manager! I have had problems before with my food here being wrong but never have I had someone say that I ate the food or would try to get the food free by doctoring it! I will assure you I will never come here again and I will spread the word not to go here! Wow I do wish I could give them negative stars this place is so terrible the workers are rude and completely stupid idk why I even come here I keep updating my review every time I come here it’s worse and worse

Small tray of Carne Asada fries 7 bucks and the large 10? They are high. The carne Asada is great but the prices aren’t. The horchata is really good and comes In a big Coke cup. That’s the best thing I can say about this place.

NOLIE. This Telegraph Lolita’s location has THEBESTTASTINGBEEF! I seriously do not know why there’s such a difference in the taste of the meat but ’tis true my Unilocal buddies! Just for fun, we got a carne asada burrito from this location and the East Palomar location and seriously the Telegraph burrito was juicier and tastier! What what?!? So, yeah food here is absolutely delicious! The only setback is there’s no open salsa bar and there’s no self service for the soda fountains BOO! But the servers are very nice and don’t mind refilling your cup or giving you more salsa(I just feel embarrassed to ask sometimes because I usually get 10 salsas to go HAHHAHAHAAHAHA oh well) If you dine in, just ask for a salsa bottle and be sure to give it back, yeah? :P OOOHHHAND there’s a 7-eleven next door so if you want to buy your BIGBOTTLEOFWATER beforehand and for cheap — DOIT! Ain’t no shame: D

My experience was great.. the food is quality amazing. Service is actually really nice for being such a busy place. Wait time is kinda ridiculous though. Almost 10 minutes for 2 burritos. But if its busy all tge time that means something good. They sell well and their food is pretty bomb. I wanted to add sour cream to my 2 in 1&the cashier didn’t charge me the extra… what a sweet lady :)I would come back to lolitas to try the rest of the menu and they’re unique menu. 5 stars.

Not Happy: Purchased a Large Tsunami Carne Asada Chip plate with beans. When we received our order the beans were not on the plate. We spoke with the cashier about the missing item. Instead of getting us a side of beans that we paid an extra $ 2 for he asked for our plate so that he could have this cook poke at it and tell us that we were mistaken and that it was in there under the meat. Disappointed with how the whole thing went down. I did not want to create a scene at the restaurant so I decided to write this post and inform everyone how disappointed I was with the customer service at the Lolita’s at Telegraph Canyon Rd.

I am quite disappointed in the latest purchase of carne asada fries. I purchase plain carne asada fries and I mostly received fries with a tiny bit of meat. They don’t serve their plates like they use too.

I’ve been coming to this particular place since I was in jr high ! I come and go in between long periods, but every time I come back the food is intact and delicious as ever! You will never go wrong with this burritos, they are exactly as you would have them in the best places in northern Mexico. The salsas are so good and non spicy friendly eaters.

Been to a few locations and this is the worst! Food is great. Not the most authentic but good! Carne asada fries are the best! Add beans! Their fried chicken tacos are great as well. Customer service — The worst. The ladies at the counter are unpleasant con su cara de wtf! If they don’t like interacting with the guest then they should be back in the kitchen where they can’t be seen. Take out orders — CHECKYOURTAKEOUTBEFORELEAVING! I HAVEN’T LEARNEDMYLESSON! THEY’VEMESSEDUPMYORDER A FEWTIMES.

So many people hate on Lolitas, I get it. prices continue to go up, portions get smaller, rude customer service, and so on. I personally love Lolitas, I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Yes, it’s not the most authentic Mexican food, but whatever. I live right up the street and this has always been my comfort food, especially the BEANS!!! Can’t go wrong with a bean & cheese burrito from here. The carne asada fries are also bombbb, always have been. Regular or add beans to those too! We’ve also recently tried the tsunami fries WITHBACON. aaaamazing! Don’t forget their salsa! I literally drown my food in it, lame af that they charge for extra at this location! –1 star for that. I really could care less if customer service sucks at a take out place, as long as my order is correct I’m good to go! They do take a while sometimes, but call in your order and you’re set! Will continue to come here, this OG location and the one in Bonita are my favs. At least the salsa bar in Bonita is self serve!

Lolita’s has the best carne asada fries I’ve ever had in my life. I love that they have potato tacos and potato rolled tacos. They only get four stars because they charge so much for extras and their prices are super high. I view Lolita’s as the McDonald’s of taco shop food, hoarding their salsa and charging extra for every little thing you want. Obviously, without the terrible food and politics. Lolita’s is still the best. Their«Patience is the Essence of Fine Mexican Food» is no joke. Don’t stop in here if you only have 5 minutes to spare and are in a rush. Ordering your food on the phone does not help either, as they don’t start making your food until you arrive.

Quesadilla and burrito was on point. Got carne asada for both. Their green sauce seems more flavorful than the red but both are very mild and not spicy. The meat was well seasoned and not dry and the pico de gallo they put in was tasty. Sour cream is extra :-(

Came in for a quick dinner. The parking situation for this plaza is terrible, which sucks because they have a lot of good shops in this plaza. The taco shop is small but very clean for a hole in the wall. The cashiers looked a little burnt out, so I didnt experience very good customer service this time. I ordered the pollo asada fries, a staple of san diego taco shop food. Good cheddar cheese, cotija cheese, the pollo was a little fatty, fries were nice and crunchy, and home made guacamole. Solid!
