Uptown Lounge

I am brand new to the neighborhood, and while this isnt your local tavern it is very cool. It was a slow Tuesday night but very welcoming and great beer, drink and wine selection. Highly recommend this place and a spot to top for a drink after work, not just after a show!

Mixed review: Understand that the manager is a force of nature and she is a rock against the chaos that washes up at her feet on a nightly basis. If you criticize her you don’t understand what she has to put up with. I’ve been a semi-​regular for years and I’m mostly in love with the staff I have seen work there. For me before 2 am its a pretty friendly, chill place. My only issues are that the drinks are overpriced and that after 2 am a lot of very drunk and/​or unsavory characters tend to drift in. That’s when I tend to head home.

Ok so this place is actually pretty awesome. We popped in here after a show at the Aragon and ended up staying for like 3 hours. Friday nights they have karaōke and the people who sing are amazing. Just a really fun time, no judgement, all are welcome, but there are some good singers who really impress the crowd!
Their draft beer selection leaves a bit to be desired, but they have a ton of bottles, so shouldn’t have a hard time finding what you are looking for here.
The staff is also super nice, the owner came around to talk to is a couple times during the night and she was just super cool. Would def recommend this place for something fun and different on a Friday night!

4 stars for being right next door to the Aragon, and having more selection! Once you go inside the Aragon, the $ 8 you paid for your fancy beer here doesn’t seem so bad, anymore ! ha

A no nonsense neighborhood bar that has everything a good 4 AM bar should have. The staff is interested in helping achieve your chill while providing live music, karaōke, lounging, or dancing. The space is open but intimate and if you’re looking for a good time, good times will be had. Over the years I keep coming back because it’s a place that knows what it’s about. Best after 10 PM or when your 2 AM bar has let you down.

I would consider myself a official fan of uptown lounge, especially since they stay open until 4 a.m., with the exception of Saturday where they keep the party going until 5am. The times that I have gone, I’ve had the pleasure of listening to some good live music, hilarious karaōke, and good DJ’s.
They do have really great Drink specials. Every time I went the drinks seem to be reasonably priced even on the none special day’s. They are also mixed really well. The bartenders are very friendly and totally make you feel welcome.
There is plenty of room for you to relax as well, be it at the bar, in one of the cozy booths by the dance/​performance area, or at one of the tables. Patrons sitting around the bar are always up for a conversation and the walls behind it have plenty of flat screens if you just don’t want to be bothered with having conversations. I recommend this lounge to anyone just leaving from a club or something and your just not ready to call it a night. This lounge provides you the best of both worlds, open late and fun people.
In terms of parking you can park either around the corner for street parking but make sure you don’t leave anything valuable on your seats in your car. Their are quite a few homeless people who walk up and look into the car windows to see if they can find something to motivate them to break into your car.

Came in here for karaōke night with some pals. Open late, which is a big plus for me. The bar itself was pretty bare, but staff was nice and everyone in the bar watching karaōke was supportive of the people on stage. Chill vibes. My only tip is watch out when you’re drunkenly leaving because the step out to the front door is lifted and I totally crashed in front of a group of strangers smoking on the sidewalk. Oops.

I just love this place! Go 3 times in a week and the girls know you well. Good drink specials

Been trying to explore more Uptown dives, and I really want to like Uptown Lounge. Music is good, atmosphere isn’t bad, but I’m not a beer person so I decided to get two neat bourbons and friend got a single cocktail: $ 32 total, way too overpriced. It may be a better place for beer lovers, but liquor is too expensive

This is the definitive North side bar — especially if you are going to a music venue in the area like the Riviera or The Aragon. There is tons of space and the beer is good and cheap!

So very chill. No cover charge, ½ off days. A simple but spacious place to chill and converse!

Awesome neighborhood bar. Always my go to for a plan B or last minute decision. Bartenders are super friendly as well as the crowd.

Really enjoyed this place. Went there last night and the staff was top notch! Beers were properly priced, so good all around. I will definitely go back again.

Stopped in this past Thursday before the Mastadon/​Gojira show at the Riv. Met a friend from out of Town for a couple drinks and I must say i was very impressed. For 2 reasons. 1.) They had Anti-​Hero which I enjoy and 2.) My favorite band DOWN came on the jukebox which made the experience that much better. I will def come back when i’m around the neighborhood. The bartender was cool and everyone had a good vibe… maybe they were just happy it was 80 degrees last thursday. Rock on ~

My new favorite local watering hole in my new hood of Uptown.
Located right off of he Lawrence Red Line Stop its a very cool spot to hit up. Not a whole lot of seating available so you may have to stand on a Fri or Sat night.
Great beer selection here… draft & bottles. You can even buy a six pack from them if you want to take some to go action. They sometimes have a DJ here or some pretty good live music.
They do not serve food here so do not come by expecting to grab a quick snack to soak up your alcohol.

These guys are really trying. The joint is a bit classed up. And they have events practically every night from what I’ve witnessed and saw on signs in the washroom (when has anything on the wall of a bathroom been a lie?).
The booths by the windows are cool for natural light or people watching. But my first visit a guy knocked on the window while I was listening to my companion talk. I turned and this. Um Person. Had his face smushed against the glass, clawed at it, and cackled menacingly. I squealed and grabbed my partner in terror. The second visit a guy did something similar. In retrospect, it’s kind of amusing. Knock, knock. Who’s there? You don’t want to look.
They have Daisy Cutter.
It’s always pretty empty. The music is very weird: Chumba Womba, Eve 6, Spice Girls? And way too loud for no one being there. If I didn’t pierce my partner’s eardrums from my shrieks it surely would. We have to yell at each other making convo.
The staff is very nice and it’s okay for a bop in after hitting another spot in the area. That’s the crux of their appeal. Just avoid window booths, maybe.

This is my favorite bar in the city.
Decent beer selection, great atmosphere. Nothing crazy or flashy at all but Saturday nights are amazing. Great place to relax with my girlfriends, drink beer and embarrass ourselves singing along to Queen.
Adam, the Saturday night DJ, is incredible. Love!

I’m not at all surprised that Uptown Lounge doesn’t have many 5-​star ratings nor many 1 & 2-​star ratings. It’s solid. Nothing special and definitely not bad. I often come here for Monday night and Thursday night football games because I don’t get them on my TV and these guys do. Service is friendly, they have a good selection of beer… and that’s really all I care about.
If you want a bar, this is a bar. If you want something flashy, this isn’t flashy. Take it for what it is and you’ll have a good time.
