Scratch DJ Academy

So who knew there was even a school to learn how to DJ!
Well there is, and if you are a Professional DJ, an aspiring DJ, or a bedroom DJ, this is the place to be! The instructors are professional DJ’s that have the desire and passion to help those who are up and coming learn how to DJ right!
Envisioned by the late Jam Master J (RIP) and the CEO Rob Principe, they built a curriculum teaching techniques and articulating them so every student that steps through the doors will have a complete understanding once their course is over.
Now, I do not work for Scratch. I am a graduate of the certificate program. What that entailed was starting from the bottom at DJ101, then working my way through Mixing 202 – 404 and Scratching 202 – 404.
Now, in order to attend the next class, you have to pass each class with a final exam! You perform a set in front of your peers and your teachers and you’re graded on what you were taught during your respective class.
DO NOT THINK you can breeze through this school and graduate by the seat of your pants… No, you have to practice. And I mean practice, as much as you can!
The school offers open practice sessions 3 days a week. You reserve your time slot, come in and work on your set.
That is what the «secret sauce» of Scratch Academy really is. You have a FANTASTIC opportunity to network and be introduced to new music and concepts by the ever growing community!!! But more importantly, you have a chance to meet and make amazing DJ friends that will help and support you on this path to becoming a DJ!
