Chicago Tango Academy

My boyfriend and I have been eager to take tango lessons. We finally gave in and attended a class here last night.
When we got there, we were skeptical a d rather confused. It was located in this large building in a quit area. We double and triple checked if we were at the correct location. We took a series of steps and turns to the very top and finally reached the studio. Being the first people there, we were sure the night would be awkward. We were completely wrong.
About 5 others arrived and we were lead by them and a very experienced teacher into the techniques and how-to’s of tango. They embraced our naïve eagerness and made our experience comfortable and enjoyable.
At first, I was against the idea of switching partners, but now I realize it’s a vital element of the learning process.
After the class there was a social dance session with byob wine and fabulous music. I recommend this experience to any reluctant tango dancers! Remember to bring your wine and some danceable shoes!
