So I have an affinity for hole-in-the-wall Chinese right. And ever since my go-to for Chinese and Asian fusion takeout closed, I’m at a loss. Left to wander the streets of Chicagoland in search of a new, easily attainable location. And until such a time, will suffer the consequences of both the good and the bad of searching. The place is old and dusty looking inside, much like their dirty, décor-free fish tank. Although properly fed, their goldfish live apathetic lives because of it. Much could be associated in how we digest their food. It’s a Mom and Pop kind of place operating on a shoestring budget, so one cannot expect too much. If dining in, they offer three tables that seat 4 and street parking is free for an hour till 6 pm. The take-out joint could use some«TLC» and the fresh smell of Mr Clean! I feel as though some cleanliness would liven up the atmosphere for all. And for goodness sakes a heater as well. I walked in seeing the counter lady donning a sleeveless vest and wondered whether she wears that while cooking?(and she does) I stopped in about 24 hours ago and on that day it was about 60 F outside in Feb, no less. However, inside the place was ice cold and looked dismal. At the time, the cook was in the middle of having his lunch and reading the paper. So, I waited for the counter lady to finish her phone call, placed an order and took a seat. I ordered a lunch special with orange chicken which comes with chicken fried rice and your choice of an egg roll or 2 crab rangoon and a can of soda. I asked for an egg roll but for whatever reason the ol’ lady gave me 2 pcs of crab rangoon. It was decent, nicely fried and filled with a lightly sweet cream cheese. I also ordered shrimp chow fun.(Per reviews and photos online, this sounded good.) Jumbo shrimp pieces with bean sprouts, carrots, water chestnuts and flat, wide rice noodle. It’s a «dry» entrée that is stir fried.(For a little difference, you could request they make ½ of the noodles well done. This would add a crunch to them.) They went too heavy with the fish sauce, because that was kicking up a stink in my car(also the following day when reheating, the stink was everywhere. I cook with fish sauce sometimes but try to use it sparingly. The smell can be offputting for some.) I requested that they make the fried rice spicy as well as the noodle dish and they obliged. Both were tasty when prepared. I’m not for certain whether the rice was made fresh at the time. I saw a very large rice cooker in the back and am aware that fried rice is prepared in advance, then steamed to life when ordered. In any case, it was steamed just right and if I’d had that alone, it was good. The shrimp was fresh, meat soft. The orange chicken was stringy and rubbery, when I heard it dropped into the fryer I knew immediately it was prepared from frozen. The food is about a 3 to 3.5 star. They use MSG fo’sho and I was lax when ordering, so I was left in a haze of funky, headache-inducing nausea. I felt gross after. So, for those of you that dislike MSG as I do, it’s a good reminder. Request, Request, Request-it removed. Don’t let the appearance of their entry door fool you, they aren’t going out of business. They just haven’t had a chance to repair that glass door. So for now, the masking tape will have to hold it all together. Judging from their interior, I would bet many inefficiencies go uncared for.

Great food, generous sizes, even gave us a pack of pancakes for the moo shoo pork we ordered. Tasty complimentary crab Rangoon.

Ok… we’ve ordered from Leungs for years. …I mean over 10 years. Once we moved further north the 15 – 20 ride seem to be a long for us. So we tried another place for the last year. We would always compare every dish to Leungs. No comparison. We should’ve known better. Now we travel the extra 15 – 20 minutes because Tracy is the best. We missed her and the cook to all our favorites. We’re glad were back! Seriously the best bang for your buck… always have leftovers! We love Leungs!

This is our neighborhood go to for«cheap Chinese». Fine dining it is not. Destination dining it is not. It is close to home. It’s fresh. It’s fast. It’s friendly. Yeah, the portions are ridiculous for sure. There is always something extra in our bag when we get home. It’s silly really. The lo mein is one of my favorites. I ask for extra veg. The orange chicken isn’t bad and easily above panda express or the place at the mall. The other day it was still so hot when we got it home that I couldn’t pick up a piece of orange chicken with my fingers. Yes. I was impatient. It’s been in the neighborhood for years. Right next to Rudy’s Bike shop. We have left overs for a few days. And sometimes we get scolded if we haven’t been in a while.

This restaurant is run by people who care about their customers. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean, the food is good, freshly made and reasonably priced. The owner really wants you to enjoy her food; I say that because whenever I have phoned an order for pick up, she waits for me to get there before she packs it up. When I get home, the food is piping hot & fresh. Sometimes we have the food delivered, and again, it’ all good:). My family likes everything we have ordered in the past. Good, prompt service & nearby. YUM!

Okay the people that talk so highly on the orange chicken haven’t tried good orange chicken. For the price it’s meh. They do give you a big portion. And the lady that greeted me was very friendly and of course I had to tip her. Maybe they have better things on the menu but I got the dinner special with the 2 crab rangoon, shrimp fried rice and orange chicken and free pop… only because everyone else on Unilocal loved it. It was all just alright for me. I’ve had better I’m sorry. Chicken is dry. Sauce is okay wish there was more to maybe counter act the dry chicken. Shrimp fried rice was too oily for my taste. Crab rangoon was big and again for the price okay. I wouldn’t go there again though. I just recently moved and am still trying to find a good Chinese place around me. I had to drive 15 minutes to get here. On Unilocal it said 4 star so that’s what drew me to this place. I just wasn’t completely satisfied with the food. You get what you pay for, and in all honesty with this place that’s exactly it. It was cheap and tasted cheap. I’m giving it a 2 star for the friendliness I received and the price of the food for the amount you get. If you want a good Chinese place and are ever in the area in Bensenville there is a place called Hoy’s. That place is absolutely phenomenal. Or in Elk Grove a place called bistro dragon. Soooooo yum! Good luck!

A lot of bang for your buck from this hole in the wall I live within walking distance so that helped in keeping the food hot enough to burn my tongue. I got the sesame chicken and it was deliciously crispy and flavorful. And unlike other places, they don’t dump a bunch of broccoli on the bottom to make the chicken portion look bigger(there was only 2 – 3 broccoli underneath my chicken). Based on the reviews, I didn’t expect much from their crab rangoon but that was the most flavorful crab rangoon I’ve had in a long, long time. Seriously, the best crab rangoon I’ve had in a long time. I don’t know if it was a fluke or not but I’m definitely trying this crab rangoon again. *edit* I just got my second order of crab rangoons. Still really flavorful. REALLYHAPPY! Since I don’t like having leftovers for multiple days… next time I’m sharing one entrée and getting a full order of crab rangoons. *NOTETOSELF* The last two times, they’ve kind of skimped on sweet and sour sauce. Two small packets for 6 crab rangoons and an egg roll? Remember to ask for more next time.

This is best Chinese food in portage park. First, they deliver! If they weather sucks or I really just get get off my lazy ass, it’s a great option that not all places give. The prices are very reasonable especially if you get the lunch or dinner special. You get your entrée, choice of fried rice, crab Rangoon or egg roll and a pop for under $ 7! And the portion is huge! Food is always good, and the crab Rangoon and sesame shrimp are awesome. Definitely worth a try.

And the search continues for a good Chinese take out spot in Portage Park. We ordered mongolian beef, szechwan chicken, and crab rangoon for about $ 22.50. Mongolian beef — Too many onions. It was like a treasure hunt trying to find the beef. Szechwan chicken — Vegetables were cut too thick. Flavor was just okay. Crab Rangoon — A lot of filling, crispy but the taste was pretty bland. Will be continuing to look for a go to Chinese restaurant in the Six Corner neighborhood.

This place is horrible. I ordered the chicken fried rice and it was by far the worst rice ever, I have never seen chicken fried rice so dark in my life and the rice was stuck and clumped together. I also ordered a small chicken with spicy garlic sauce the chicken was slimy and tasteless with no spice, nasty and could not eat this at all. Came with an egg roll also and would have to say by far the worst egg roll ever. Not cheap either and the lady was not friendly at all. Overall stay as far as can be from here!

Having recently moved to Portage Park, I was traumatized by the lack of really good Chinese food. Thank goodness for the reviews of my fellow Unilocalers, or I never would have tried it! They are so nice at Leung’s, that for that reason alone I would continue to go, and the food is really good. They have lunch and dinner specials, which are so reasonably priced, that I always tip them when I pick up my order. The portions are so generous, that it’s really 2 – 3 servings. I love their crab rangoon, Kung Pao chicken(which if you like it spicy, you have to tell them to make it really, really spicy, otherwise it’s not), and the Orange Chicken is fabulous. They have chow fun noodles, which are really yummy. They also make filipino pancit, which is quite tasty. They use a lot of really fresh vegetables, which is great because I hate to waste the delicious sauces in the kung pao and orange chicken.
