Great spot for coffee. Came here today and at 10, the place wasn’t empty, but sure not full. Very nice crew of customers. The pace was steady and the girl kept up and kept everyone engaged and cheerful. Went here this morning and loved the feel inside. Girl working behind the counter was very friendly and kept the atmosphere fun and light. The inside was fun and I will be coming back to sit and work. It has a light and fun coffee shop vibe, with good music and nice surrondings. Prices are good. Got a chair tea latte and coffee and was about $ 7. Less than Starbucks and better quality and service. Also has some fun and creative drinks, which gives it a nice twist.

Great place to have a good cup of coffee without the added chaos of a chain coffee shop. The staff is very knowledgable and the atmosphere is very laid back. I just had my usual black iced coffee except it wasn’t so ‘usual’ since they don’t skimp by adding water(which is great)! The barista told me that they add a shot of espresso so the ice doesn’t dilute the coffee. Awesome place!

Really nice and spacious coffee shop in South Loop. Very simple yet gives you what you need: a good cup of coffee.

I really want to like this place. The overall ambiance is very pleasant, and I enjoy the fact that the mood is rather tranquil accompanied by relaxing music. It’s really a nice change from the overly chaotic scenes that you can find in other cafes. However, the erratic closing times really need to stop if you don’t want to lose business. I arrived yesterday around 4:15 — 4:20 thinking that I’d have a good few hours to get some important reading and other work done. After ordering my drink, lo and behold, I find out as I’m sitting down that they’re closing at 5pm. I’m all about the Christmas spirit, but I would never have come and spent the money if I had known that I would have to leave a mere 30 – 40 minutes later. This sort of unannounced practice really dissuades me from ever wanting to come back in the future.

I LOVE La Haven, but I had to edit this review to reflect the wi-fi issues I’ve had here on at least three occasions. I know this sounds petty, but I come here to do work often, and getting kicked off of their wi-fi when it decides not to work is a huge pain. The staff is receptive to fixing it, but this often takes long enough that I decide to leave and work elsewhere. Hopefully they can figure this one out!

I stumbled across this coffee shop after a morning run, on which I got a lil lost. I figured if I was going to wander aimlessly to find my hotel I might as well be caffeinated. As it turns out, my hotel was like 3 blocks away but we’ll chalk this up to a happy accident nonetheless. The service was super friendly, and fast; the almond milk latte was delicious; and the vibe was a perfect mix of cozy yet crisp. I can see me getting school work done at one of the many tables just as easily as I can see me curling up with a good book on the cozy couch(although I do think a few more plushy seats would be a nice touch). Being from NC, my basis for comparison is limited. But as a fan of quality caffeinated beverages, at fair prices, I think I’m qualified to deem La Haven worthy.

Had the latte, which was brewed from le colombe beans, quality stuff considering other options in the south loop… The barista knew what she was doing when I asked some questions just to know if they’re posers or legit… They’re legit. Service is efficient and polite. Lots of places to sit, and the music wasn’t terrible. Good spot to chill during the day, especially on the leather couch they have in the corner

A very nice, relaxed, and intimate atmosphere. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and add to an atmosphere that creates to your purchase being more than just a commercial transaction. The addition of pastries and donuts was a recent addition that added another star to the overall score. Two minor problems would be that sometimes finding adequate seating can be a problem. If your’e not on a bench or the new sofa, it can be difficult to find a comfortable location. Also, recently the store hours and opening/closing times have changed without any announcement. The social media page – especially Instagram – is cool. And the recent open mic nights have helped to create a new regular atmosphere for the locals.

Right near my house The good: Large space with lots of seating Plays good music Good coffee(la Colombe) Free wifi Nice staff However, on the pricier side, wish it was a more cozy place with more comfortable seating. The chairs are stiff and it’s hard to want to stay for longer periods of time. All in all decent, but not the best

I live a block away from here, so it’s nice to see a cute little coffee shop like this open up in the South Loop. Coffee is great and the employees are just as great. I think they need to work on getting more comfortable seating. There’s only one couch, the rest are table and chairs. I see this place becoming like Central Perk. That would be nice. I’m going to try to come here more to support local businesses.

Great spot in the South Loop, if you’re close to the museums it’s worth the walk. Ample seating a good coffee. Tried the pumpkin latte and it’s world’s better than Starbucks– not too sugary and overdone. Friendly service and an appealing space.

Stopped in for coffee and a doughnut and it was delicious. Service was great and they have plenty of space to hang out and do some work. I’ll have to go back on a day when I’m working from home. A bit expensive, but no more than those expensive chain coffee shops and way more space and much quieter. Great addition to the neighborhood.

South Loop has needed another space like this, so I hope they stick around(as this space has tended to be a revolving door of failed tenants in the past). Coffee is on the spendier side, but you are getting great quality and use of a great work space(or study space, for you young ‘uns). Free wi-fi. They do a decent business, but never overly crowded, and I’ve never had problems finding a table. I appreciate a business that is focused on doing one thing — coffee — and doing it well. They offer a few pastries, but I wouldn’t depend on there being any available. The coffee is the focus, and you can tell.

a nice space. i remember the music was sort of weird and not fitting. i honestly — well — a large-ish space maybe can’t get away with pop music unless it’s bustling? which it’s a café which it’s not a large space. I don’t think it was pop music, I can’t remember what it was. this isn’t a complaint. maybe it would be if I was working there. i just thought that the music was a bit loud and didn’t really fit with the surroundings of the area or the size of the place. the interior is the typical wood-stuff-open-ceiling thing… which i suppose is a plus for most! though a café that had all neon green furniture would sure be weird, huh. the area where they prepare is small in a cute way. it’s two people taking and making the orders. there’s a board listing the things you can buy. it was a little confusing — there’s one size for everything, but a ‘light’ roast costs a little more. nothing a quick question can’t answer, though. there’s a good selection. it’s almost awkward, you don’t feel intimidated at all buying here, which is good: usually I feel intimidated. the awkwardness is nice. there’s a single small case of pastries below. it’s cute. I don’t feel«cool» eating here(That’s a compliment) — I am just getting a coffee beverage or whatever and it’s nice. you know, maybe my experience of going into the café and ordering something and drinking it while leaving wasn’t that exciting. i can’t think of a lot. well, i did install the level up app on my phone while waiting for my order to be taken. you get a free $ 2 credit if you use it. hm. I set my credit card on the counter and took a picture of it. I guess I judged myself as being far away enough from the entrance to not worry about someone seeing me do this, or someone taking my card there is brown sugar the staff seem friendly. I arrived there«less than 3 hours» of the pastries arriving. The two people working were young. Maybe my age or a bit older. Maybe I’d be their friend in another life. Maybe I *will* be their friend, in this life. Maybe I’m getting older(I am). They(appeared) male. there were no waffles in sight, as another review mentions. waffles would have been interesting: what would have been really interesting was if there was a waffle nailed to the floor there were seats there. I was there at uh, 10AM or so — 11AM — on a sunday. It had like 5 – 6 people sitting there? you could definitely work here. it’s a nice spot. just, the music. Hey: I write music — I’d write some Music for this café. It’d be ambient and nice. I make music for games: I can write that stuff! Plingy-plucky-whiny Indie Folk and mild electropop are too much for cafes, too distracting. This is me whining. it probably doesn’t really matter. A café once played Kyary Pamyu Pamyu: are you kidding me? Okay, KPP is great. I never went to that café again(this is a joke(I’ll whine about music in restaurants all day but it wouldn’t make me really rate it lower or not go back(maybe.))) i’d go here again — boring food-related things: what was in the almond milk in the latte? i hope the people running this place read this and answer — well i’ll ask next time anyways. it made it sort of thick and pudding-like, which was cool… Hey person who runs the place, if you are reading this: what was in the almond milk? it was good. Had an almond milk ice latte and almond milk cappaciencacdnicno(can’t spell that one). Hey both were good. I think the cap[…]‘s $ 0.75 charge should be less for the cap[…] though? If it’s less volume? Maybe. I don’t know. whatever. we had a cheese danish too which was good. it was, standard café prices… it’s sure nicer than another peet’s or starbucks.

Yesterday, I visited the La Haven coffee shop and I was pleasantly greeted by two sweet young ladies working at the counter. After speaking to them I decided to order a delicious cup of Brazilian La Colombe coffee. I was happy with my choice… It was very flavorful and not bitter. Wonderful! While I was talking to the two nice ladies, a young man named DJ came out from the kitchen and he was working on perfecting his waffle recipe. DJ asked me if I would like to sample one of his waffles with caramel in the middle… It sounded so delicious… I couldn’t refuse! DJ brought out two wonderful, warm, thin crispy waffles with caramel in the middle(not like a Belgium waffle). It was great! Made with a hint of cinnamon and very flavorful. I loved it! This coffee shop is a great addition to the South Loop! They also have nice pastries, free wi-fi and coffee products for sale — along with great customer service! Welcome to the South Loop! It’s a pleasure to have you here.

I have been waiting for La Haven to open for weeks, and I’m so glad they finally did! The coffee is from La Colombe, so you know it’s legit. I had their cappucino, and I loved it. You could taste the quality of the coffee, and the capuccino had a creamy, rich flavor. They also give have a lot of space, good music, and free wi-fi — a comfortable place to hang out. And their service is awesome — my barista was cute and friendly. Will be going again!

Happy to have la haven coffee in the South Loop. Stopped in this week and love the décor and vibe in there. The coffee drinks are delicious, so are the sweet treats. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood!
