Heartbroken to find out that it’s closed. :(This place held the title for my favorite Chicken Pad Thai in the city consistently over the years. A simple dish that’s super hard to get just right the way I like it and the chicken was always good quality. Depressed!

The phở, pad woon sen, and baby egg rolls will forever be in my heart. The staff was kind of rude when it was open. But the food… come back, Duck Walk.

This was my favorite thai in the city. The Madness noodles were perfection. I still haven’t fully accepted they’re gone. Please come back, Duck Walk. My Friday nights are nothing without you.

I’m willing to offer a $ 50 reward to anyone who is able to get me in touch with Duckwalks bubble tea vendor, or someone who can pass that information along to me. Their Thai Tea flavored Bubble Tea was my absolute favorite, unique to any other I have ever tried, and now that Duckwalk is closed I’m not ready to face the sad reality of never tasting it again. If you have the information I am looking for, please email me at . If it leads to be getting my favorite drink, I’ll get you paid. Thanks!

So sad that they’ve closed. They were always open on July 4th…

I was expecting the food I used to get several years back when they were located on Belmont near the red line stop. It’s definitely not as good, but the place is larger, cleaner, and service was alright. Probably won’t return since you can find a lot of better Thai food in Lincoln Park.

This location has been as delicious as their Belmont restaurant, but it’s unfortunately closed for business!

Enjoyed this place, but unfortunately it appears to have gone out of business as of June 15, 2015. All signs are removed and windows are all papered over.

There are a few places I can go for thai food. Duck walk is one of the best Thai restaurants in Chicago. my favorite is the crab Ragoon!!!

I LOVE this place. I have a sick crab Rangoon obsession. Therefore I am very critical of my crab Rangoon. They have, hands down, the best standard crab Rangoon I’ve tasted. It’s light and crispy and served with an almost clear sweet and sour sauce. They also have great bubble teas and the phở is delicious! I’ve dined in, got delivery and take out multiple times and I have never been disappointed! YUM!

The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered pad Thai tofu fried rice and fried potstickers and pad woo. Sien. Everything was hot fresh and delivered quickly. Today I am picking up a to go order for my son because he really liked the pad thai.

Like most people mentioned already, Duck Walk is good if you’re looking for a cheap Thai food fix in the area. The food is decent, the service is not bad, the décor of the restaurant is fine… there’s just nothing about it that really makes it stand out. The lunch specials here are a pretty good deal — I had the Drunken Noodles with chicken and the crab wontons as my appetizer. Both were good — I particularly liked the crab wontons and I usually don’t care for them. The noodles were also served in a very nice lunch portion and filled me up for the rest of the afternoon. Overall, decent prices for food that is aight. Definitely somewhere I would come again for convenience, but I don’t think I would go out of my way to come here.

I dined in here on a Saturday late afternoon and had the Tom Yum(w/chicken), Pad Khee Mao(w/beef), Thai Fried Rice(w/beef), Thai tea bubble tea w/tapioca and Basil Beef and they were VERYTASTY and diverse in flavor. Their food has an Americanized feel as it’s sweeter and less spicy than I expected it to be. I like their food. Servers here are really polite and friendly. I like how they asked if we wanted to be seated outside. They gave us recommendations on the dishes based on their own preferences and what other customers enjoy. The restroom is clean. Food is served in a healthy portion and the prices are great. I like their variety and I thought it was cool how they cut the carrots and cucumber slices with jagged edges. It makes the food look more appealing. Their spicy dishes can be more spicy and I’m glad they have Sriracha and hot pepper oil set out on the table already so you can customize the level of spiciness for yourself. They are super prompt with refilling our water cups. I like how they didn’t splash any water on us when they refilled our water cups. I also liked their honesty about what happened to my bubble tea drink when it didn’t arrive in a timely manner(they said they gave it to another customer who ordered it and they will go make mine right now). I’d like to come back to try their other foods.

I am so obsessed with their Phở Ga. I get it a least once a week. Their thai tea is also delicious. They have a ton of noodle options as well and my boyfriend has not tried a bad one. The service could be better. No one seems to want to work there or interact with any type of human. Im not too well versed in thai cuisine so I wouldnt know if its super authentic or anything but I love this place and will be coming here for a long time.

Authentic, my @$$. I need to stop reading reviews from people who have never been to Thailand. I keep reading authentic this and authentic that. What makes it authentic? Please tell me. How can one really assess the food’s authenticity unless: 1. The person has traveled to Thailand and has sampled the foods from all over the country. OR 2. The person is actually THAI. I can at least say I spent a month in Thailand traveling around to different villages on a bike and sampled many dishes from local restaurants away from the tourists. Hmmm. Anyway. When first trying a Thai restaurant, I tend to order a curry. That’s my authenticity test. I ordered the Panang curry. What was it lacking? EVERYTHING. Real panang curry contains thick coconut milk and there should be very few other liquids added. However, I thought I was drinking water with hints of lemongrass and chili pepper. I’ve noticed a trend in Chicago over the years. Thai Restaurants tend to water down their curries in an effort to save money. Duck Walk is no exception to this trend. My friend ordered the Mi Xiao, which is traditionally a Chinese noodle dish. How come it tasted like pad kee Mao? This dish was too similar to other Thai noodle dishes I’ve tried before. Furthermore, it was way too sweet. Yet again my dreams of finding a decent Thai restaurant in Chicago have been shattered.

I always feel like I live in a bit of a Thai desert. It’s one of my favorites, but there are very few Thai delivery options in the area. On a lazy Sunday, I decided to try Duck Walk. The delivery came in a timely fashion.(about 45 minutes) And all of the food was hot and fresh. The crab rangoons and panang curry were exceptional. We also ordered a papaya salad and khao soi. These dishes were both solid but not stand outs. I have definitely found my new Thai delivery place!

Typical price range for an Asian restaurant. I gave it a visit last week with my friends. The décor is very clean and a lot of ducks by the entrance. This place serve Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese. I ordered the Panang curry, and the flavor was just right. The size of the rice is a typical. The Thai iced coffee was good. My friend ordered the Phở Ga. He wasn’t a big fan of that.

Duck Walk is pretty good, but average for authentic Thai cuisine. It is a good lunch spot by the university and the service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is very clean/modern and«hip», but I would not enjoy it as much if I was on a date or nicer dinner. The food itself is pretty typical Thai. Nothing mind blowing, but nothing terrible either. Ginger chicken stir fry and rice was tasty and served hot, no real complaints. So why is this only getting 3 stars? Basically, because out of all of the other Thai I’ve had in Chicago, this was just average. It was good and not a bad option at all, but I wouldn’t make it a go-to Thai place. Service: 8⁄10 Atmoshpere: 7.5÷10 Food: 7.5÷10

People that rate this place low gotta take the stick out their behinds because for a really affordable meal in a really cute atmosphere, what more do you expect? Yeah, it may not be like going straight to Thailand but the portions are always big, food is served piping hot and they are BYOB! I moved from living near the DePaul location to the Belmont one and almost cried when they closed that one down. I seriously used to go at least once a week. It’s always consistently good. I tend to order almost the same thing every time. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The crab rangoon is so gooey with cheese, you wanna smack somebody(the side-effects of cheesy goodness), along with the MANGO bubble tea(also perfect). Don’t mess up by ordering another kind of bubble tea. The pad thai is pretty solid here too. Noodles are not too dry or thin like at Cozy Noodles and have a great sauce. Being a vegetarian, I can pretty much eat the whole menu subbed with tofu which makes me :). When I’m on a low-carb streak, I do the rama tofu which is a nice, thick rama(peanuty) sauce, unlike other watered-down, soupy textures from other Thai places I’ve been to(:cough: Opart Thai). Yeah, the staff doesn’t really know English. Yeah, there’s a bunch of snobby little DePaul kids complaining that they didn’t get their feet rubbed with their order. Whatever. For quick, cheap and really great Thai food, just go here.
