I’ve lived just a few blocks away from this place for a year, but didn’t venture in until tonight, when my wife and I decided to take a chance on some takeout burritos. They were absolutely excellent, as was the guacamole we ordered and the homemade hot sauce they included with the order; the guy who brought our food out was really friendly, too. We’re definitely going to return — especially since their back patio looks really nice!

Used to be Cesar’s, like the ones in Lincoln Park and Lakeview, but changed owners I guess. For the most part, the menu stayed the same. Unfortunately, the food was bland and not what it used to be when it was Cesar’s. The service is so slow, it took 20 minutes to get a box and the check. I thought I’d give them another chance after them not having a liquor license for a couple of years, but I was disappointed all around. I won’t be back to Cesca’s ever.

Love their food but often you don’t get what your ordered. I’ve been there 3 times and had delivery 3 times and half of my orders were incorrect. Keep giving them more chances because everyone is nice and the food is good when you get what you ordered! Please address this with cooks.

I’ve dined at Cecas Margarita Bar and Grill numerous times and I’ve always enjoyed the dining experience. Food is well prepared and the margaritas are amazing! Service is Top Notch! Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for those who enjoy great Mexican food. Great place here in Andersonville!

Incredible food! Best frozen margarita I have ever had, no exaggeration. I had the chicken tacos and they were excellent! Highly recommend the patio experience. My gf had the mole and she said that her mother’s mole is better, but Cesca’s did it pretty well. :)

We celebrated Mother’s Day here and we had a great time. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. Saul was our server and he was the nicest guy ever! He was very accommodating and made sure that we had everything we need to enjoy ourselves. Thank you, Saul for your superb customer service! We ordered the fajitas and they were so delicious! I highly recommend Cescas! You must try it if you haven’t done it yet.

Went in for some Mexican food and a margarita and was very happy that I tried this place for the first time and certainly not my last. The guacamole was fresh and the costillas(ribs) in tomatillo salsa were so so delicious and authentic and the margaritas were on point! Very excited about their HUGE beautiful PATIO that is already open if you want to bear the little chill left. Can’t wait to go back and sit in that patio.

The patio here is amazing! It’s okay food but the margarita’s are fantastic and the people are extra kind. Definitely would recommend this place!

I walk by this place all the time, but rarely see anyone seated inside. The only reason I can come up with for this fact is poor marketing, because it certainly isn’t the food! During my evening constitutional I decided to give the place a try. I’m so glad I did!(FYI, the to-go meals are served with the beans and rice in separate containers from the main entrée. I panicked when I thought they forgot mine, but then was reassured that they had just been overlooked on my part. D’oh!) The chicken flautas were light and crispy. My refried beans were perfectly seasoned, and the fluffy rice accompanied the beans well. My guacamole was spectacular!!! I make a mean guac. myself, but usually am too lazy, so I buy it. This often leads to disappointment. Not this time! It isn’t spicy, which was actually alright as the balance of ingredients was so dead-on, I didn’t miss the zing. Next time I visit I will dine-in and try some of the epic-looking margaritas. Eat here! Sit by the window! Tell your friends about Cescas!!!

I went here with the wife for some much needed Mexican. The food was good, but it needed to be better seasoned. We had to add a lot of hot sauce. I get that people in the Midwest can’t handle spicy food, but this restaurant went too far in the mild direction. But that doesn’t make this a bad restaurant. I would probably go back. We started with queso and it was very good — a delicious blob of cheese. The cheese was served with tortillas that were excellent and arrived at the table hot. I had tostadas and liked them. The wife had tamales and said they were okay. Service here is excellent. We were here on a Monday and it was slow and quiet. There is a nice bar and this place is billed as a margarita place, but we didn’t try them. I would need to come back here on a busier night to comment on this place as a night spot.

Nice little place, with very friendly and attentive service. Good atmosphere and vibe, and very reasonable prices. Chips and salsa were very good. Lots of vegetarian options. Will defientley be going back and can’t wait to see the patio in the summer.

This is one of those places we passed by a few times after it opened and finally gave it a shot. They seem a bit lost on the full service bar concept. They push the premade margaritas and the first person we asked said you couldn’t order a top shelf margarita cause they were already premade. If you probe a bit they are able to make a top shelf on rocks margarita so ask away. The food to me was very blahhhh. The chili relleno was as boring as can be bland and tasted like they use a mild mozzarella but I am sure it was the Mexican mozzarella not the pizza kind. The fajitas where Mehhh. Overall the people are nice but quality of service and food is very average.

Review for the bar area only, no food and late night. We rolled in here one evening, for one of our famous«Just One More» nightcaps. Got an ENORMOUS margarita, poured by a friendly, great bartender. When informed that this would be the last call, he graciously gave us each a Tequila shot. I love the bar area, the décor is cute and dimly lit intimate. I’ll be back. Great little place!

This places doesn’t look like much from the outside, but WOW is it good food! The inside is really nice and they have a large patio in back. They also have a great variety of a menu, not like the other high end restaurant that just opened south of Clark. Plus we have a 2 yr old and they are so family friendly here. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves Mexican.

I’m a huge fan of sit down Mexican restaurants, and I was really excited that one was going to open up in A-ville. What I didn’t expect was a beautiful outdoor patio that was nearly empty. I’m not sure how much longer they’ll have it open, but it’s perfect for these lovely fall days that we’ve been having. As for the food, I had the spinach wrap with chicken, and really loved it. The highlight of the evening, however was most likely the delicious pitcher of margarita(don’t worry I shared). I think we all need to make sure that Cescas stays put in our neighborhood.

No, No, No. One of the ethnic options in Andersonville. We decided to try al fresco dining while getting some free chips and salsa. The patio in the back is ample and well laid out, but the service and food are not very good. It took forever for them to get us a basket of chips, the water glasses were never refilled, unless I flagged down the waitress, the service was very very slow. My friend Kevin got at Margarita on the rocks, which was very good… but…the problem was the food. I ordered the ribs and my friends each got fajitas… all three of them were Salty… Salty…Salty. You would think these people have stock in the Morton Salt Company !!! I could not eat my dish, so I asked the waiter to get me a bowl of hot water, so I can dunk my ribs in it and take some of the salt off. He said, that he would fix it. He took the plate back to the kitchen. and a while later… an equally salty plate was put in front of me. The waiter was nice enough to try to fix it, but I still had to dunk my ribs in my glass of cold water to get the salt off. You know, salt shakers are on the table… salt is easy to add on… it is more difficult to get rid off. When I asked for the bill, I noticed that he took my meal off the bill, which is a nice gesture, but the food experience was so bad for me… Never, Never, Never again.

{meh, I’ve experienced better…} This place came recommended by a friend of mine. After a perfect day at the beach we decided to head here for a quick bite to reenergize ourselves so we could continue on and enjoy our evening. We arrived to an empty restaurant. We asked to be seated outside and also asked for a phone charger… talk about attitude. WOW. Its 2015, is this not a common request? anyway, our server continued on to deliver more than a lackluster service. We asked for a mango/strawberry margarita but were told NO. WHY you ask? bc they use a pre-made mix… we also asked for Don Julio… you will get what they give you… period. they also changed servers on us without telling us. We had to flag them down for anything and everything we needed. The food could’ve gotten 4 stars easily, but the poor service left me so distracted from actually enjoying my meal. Adiós Felipe.

We always have a good meal here. Love their pork ribs with salsa verde sauce. Very delicious! Great friendly & attentive service. Salvador always takes good care of us. They do have a nice patio settings in the back. Most people prefer to dine in the back. Give them a try!

WOW! I was so pleasantly surprised by my experience at Cescas. I am typically wary of more upscale Mexican places, as I frequent hole in the wall spots for my taco cravings. But the food at Cescas is both delicious and reasonably priced, with huge portions! I had the fish tacos and they were fantastic. The interior is nice and they were great about accommodating our large part of around ten. The owner is also the sweetest. The only downer about our dinner was that the service was super slow, but I’m hoping that’s due to their being fairly new. BYOB for now, this new restaurant is definitely worth checking out!
