LOVE this place. Great food, great service. SOOOOOOOOOO tasty and full of flavor. Love that’s a BYOB! I will be back for years to come.

Yum. I have been here for lunch with a bunch of international mothers and also ordered delivery. At first several were skeptical, but when the food came, we all enjoyed the fusion food and great combination of kimchee with tacos in different variations. The service was great! Quick to respond and friendly even though some of our guests were late. Thought it was worth trying delivery and was not disappointed. The food arrived hot and in only 35 minutes, for Chicago on the weekend, super quick! My husband at first skeptical enjoyed all of our selections especially the Two Little Pigs!

Visited Chicago for a convention and came here with some friends. I really liked the Bulgogi fries, but I wish it came in a bigger size because I didn’t want to share with my boyfriend. I should’ve just ordered a second. I ordered 3 different tacos(Galbi, Bulgogi, Shredded Pork) and they were a little on the small side for what they charge, but they were still tasty. Our server gave us a bunch of different sauces so that was fun trying all of them. I’d recommend it

Starting with the positives, service was very attentive. Water glasses were consistently filled and our server thoroughly explained their condiments. Speaking of, those sauces were delicious and went well with our food. We ordered a bulgogi(marinated beef) bahn mi sandwich. The meat tasted nice, but there wasn’t much of it. The bread it was served in was chewy, limp and unappetizing. Nothing like the delicious, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside French rolls from Nhu Lan Bakery or Ba Le. We also ordered an assortment of tacos at $ 3.00 — $ 3.50 a piece. They did taste good, but once again, severely lacked filling and were small. You’ll get very little protein from this restaurant.

We have gone several times, and we have always had great food and great service. I tend to go hot with my choices, and they tend to be a little bland for my tastes. Most places can’t keep up with my level of heat, so I can’t fault them for that. I can’t tell you if their Kimchi is authentic, because I have not idea, but it was delicious. Great place bring a couple of beers, and have some great fusion food.

I’m not sure how the tacos here compare to Del Seoul, but I really enjoyed the bulgolgi burrito I had here. It was stuffed with bulgolgi and kimchi rice(so good!) among other things. I believe it also had Siracha mayo which added a nice creaminess that mixed well with the other ingredients and kicked the taste up a notch. It was definitely plenty of food. I had to take home leftovers!

what more can you want for a chill dinner out with friends? — amazing korean tacos(and other fusion delights — quesadillas, etc) — the french fries with meat are out of this world — great value for your money — willingness to accommodate a large party — BYOB(and no corkage fee) I took a group of 10 friends — most of whom had never experienced Korean tacos. Everyone loved it — even the folks that don’t eat a ton of meat. Service was a bit slow, especially at the end of the meal, but I think they were probably trying to just give us space. We clearly weren’t in a hurry.

My second review of Takos Koreanos is specifically in regards to their carry out services/food. Overall, I would recommend eating at the restaurant rather than electing for carry-out, primarily because the food doesn’t transfer as well being placed in a to-go box, rather than being eaten fresh in the restaurant.(Which is common for most places) I ordered the Spicy Pork Bahn Mi, and it was really well flavored but the bread was very disappointing. It unfortunately took away from the entire dish. I like this restaurant a lot, but having dined-in and carrying-out, I was definitely recommend dining in the restaurant and ordering the tacos.

I had the tres combo. Shrimp taco split with my son, he must have got the shrimp because I didn’t taste anything but the fried batter. The beef and spicy pork were nothing that great. Was tender and loaded with sugar. Small amount of beef. The spicy pork was better and had a lot of tender pork but again it was a little to sweet. Kimchi fried rice wasn’t bad. Potato salad was okay.

Fries with short ribs and cheese — skinny crispy and delicious. Quesadilla — little pigs. big tortilla but not stuffed with a lot of filling. What’s there is delicious and porky! Tacos 3 types — fish was fresh and mild 3 sauces — nice range, loved the spicy one. BYOB

I’m usually a big fan of Korean tacos, but this place just didn’t do it for me. First, we ordered two appetizers– the two different types of egg rolls. These were the worst«egg rolls» I have ever had. They were basically fried wonton wrappers with a tiny little bit of filling– not even a third. Complete waste of money. Take a look at my picture to see– they are about the size of a cigarette each, and the front 1⁄3 and back 1⁄3 ends have no filling at all. The tacos themselves were okay, but I was already in a bad mood from the«egg rolls» that I couldn’t even fully enjoy them. We got the Kalbi Barba“Korea”, Spicy Pork, Honey chili Shrimp, and the Honey Chili Tilapia. These range from $ 3-$ 4.50 each. The best of these four was probably the tilapia. The sauce on the side was good, but that was probably the best part of our meal. They are cash only. Overall, would not recommend.

OMG I have been dying to get to Takos Koreanos ever since I saw it on Unilocal.Sometimes you go to a restaurant w/a high rating on Unilocal and you can’t understand why the rating is so high. In this case Takos Koreanos in my opinion not only lived up to the high rating they exceeded it. I tried 3 different tacos to get a little different taste of different items(granted they’re all tacos), but I can honestly say that they were the best tacos I ever had. The grilled Korean spicy pork taco was THEBOMB! It was so tender I savored every bite. It was perfectly seasoned with a spicy chili paste absolutely delicious. The kalbi taco with beef short ribs was also delicious. They use a very good quality meat with no fat or gristle that you get at some restaurants. It was also seasoned to perfection. Once again I savored every bite. The honey chili shrimp is breaded in Panko and seasoned with a honey chili sauce, very tasty, but I actually preferred the pork & rib tacos flavor wise. The cashier was very personable as was one of the owners that was there. Takos Koreanos has a nice ambiance to go with the excellent tacos. I can’t wait to get back and try some of their other foods

You can tell an Asian-Mexican Fusion place is committed when it has both Tamarind Jarritos AND Ramune Potential-Choking-Hazard Fizzy Drink in the same case. We only got take-out, but the selection of Tacos we got was excellent. The double tortillas on each one were a good stab at authenticity, though frankly they each could have used a little more meat instead, if only because the meat was so good. The Kimchi fries were also excellent, though could have used a bit more sour cream included to balance out the spiciness… get what we did and you’ll be quite kimchi-ed out by the end. Overall, though, very pleased and will be definitely stopping to dine-in in the future.

Takos Koreanos is just down the street from me and I hadn’t tried it before last night. I wasn’t disappointed and I wish I’d come here sooner. The evening started a little rocky when our group arrived to discover they’re cash only. We had to go hunt down an ATM which was annoying but something I can forgive because the food was really good. I had three tacos: the kalbi, miso tofu, and miso eggplant. The kalbi and tofu tacos were just okay but the eggplant taco was amazing. I could’ve eaten just three of those. It being so good more than made up for the other two tacos. I also tried the kimchi fries and they were very good. The kimchi was spicy and delicious. It tasted very freshly made. My friends had banh mi, taco and quesadillas and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. My only criticism would be that the tortillas aren’t very warm. I’ll definitely go back because the price is so good. My husband and I each had three tacos and kimchi fries and it was only $ 26.80! They are BYOB and don’t charge a corkage fee! There aren’t enough places in this neighborhood that have good food at this price. I’ll be back to try the bulgogi burrito soon…

I’ve been withholding my review because I keep wanting to love this place. I live in the neighborhood, I love Korean food, I love tacos, and I love Korean fusion tacos, but after giving TK3 tries and coming away unimpressed each time, I’m done. It’s not to say that their food isn’t good. It’s quite okay, but there are other places in the city that do pretty much the same thing much better than TK does. Del Seoul and En Hakkore are two off the top of my head. Why can’t TK be as good as those spots? I’m reviewing based solely on their tacos… Because it’s in their name and it’s what they should be good at so that’s what I get. The flavors are always good but their portions are just not enough to satisfy and I end up cutting the tortilla in half to get the ratio of tortilla to filling at what it should be. Their shrimp and fish were over crisped and skimpy as well. If I didn’t know any better, I probably wouldn’t mind so much but every time I come here I naturally compare TK to my other favorite fusion joints and it just doesn’t stack up to the competition.

A fan of this hidden gem in Ravenswood/Andersonville. Have been here twice, and each time the food has been great — korean tacos are tasty, but the big winners are the bulgogi burrito and the kimchee guacamole. Bulgogi burrito is loaded with flavor, and you’ll want to bottle up the marinade and take it home with you. Homemade chips are crispy and thick cut to dip all of that delicious guac & kimchee. Place is cash only and BYOB, so remember to come prepared. Staff is also super friendly, and brought us a knife for cutting limes and extra ice for our own DIY moscow mules! Big fan, will definitely be back again many times.

BYOB& Cash Only! The deliver as well! Just thought I would get that out of the way so you would see it as soon as you saw my review. Great, really nice people that work here as there were really good with telling me whats good on the menu. I went with the tacos as that was the mood I was in. I got the short rib, grilled pork and shrimp tacos and all were equally good. The sauce they gave me was amazing! It was kind of a pinkish-orange like color and it was magnificent. The tacos were all around $ 3 each and well worth it.

Nice place with very attentive service. They are definitely aiming to please. I enjoyed the fusion nature of the menu — the Korean flavors served in a Mexican style worked surprisingly well. I liked the meat oriented tacos very much. Kalbi was particularly good. I liked the flavor of the honey chili shrimp but unfortunately found the shrimp to be overly battered and friend. A plumper, less bready shrimp would have been better. Kimchi fries were really interesting and the flavors worked well. It’s kind of like Korean Poutine. Fair warning though, like all Poutine preparations it ultimately devolves into a soggy mass of potato and sauce. BYOB is nice and make it a super affordable option to have an interesting meal. It’s a nice, inexpensive, creative neighborhood place.

Ca$h money only yo! They really need to start taking credit cards as a sit down restaurant(they also do carry out). Aside from that little bit, I’m down with Takos Koreanos. Honestly who doesn’t love a good bulgoki or kalbi taco? KoKo as they call themselves for short doesn’t even deal with that cheap stuff meat though and all I saw used in any of their recipes is Kalbi. And they actually have much more on their menu then just tacos — they have quesadillas, fries, korean style banh mi, and rice plates. My friend and I started with their Beef Barba ‘Korea” Fries for $ 9. We gobbled them up mighty quickly… half due to being ravaged and half due to them being so friggin good. These fries were covered in braised short ribs(tender and delicious), cheese and sour cream. Normally the order comes with onions & scallions but we did ours sans those nasty little accessories. I highly recommend the fries and would get these again for sure. For my main dish, I had a couple of tacos the kalbi for $ 3.30 and the miso tofu taco for $ 3.50. I loved them both! The miso tofu taco had just the right amount of kick to it for me and both tacos were cooked just perfectly. I will absolutely be coming back to Takos Koreanos(with my cash) and most likely getting some nummy takeout. Bonus Points: They played Kpop during our entire dining experience. A few less bonus points: Psy’s Gangnam Style played, ugh. Reverse of the deleted bonus points: Free parking abound.

While passing through Andersonville on my way to the Argyle area to sample some Vietnamese phở, I saw taKO’s KOreanos and though that Mexican-Asian was a rather different fusion combination. I shall conclude that it is a very, very good combination on the palate. Green tea. Beef barba Korean fries. Spicy chicken taco. Honey chili taco. Potato salad. Kimchi fried rice. The beef barba Korean fries reminded me of street food. The pulled beef had been seasoned such that it popped with enough sweetness to keep from biting the back of the tongue. Topped with sauteed onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chives, the concept of chili cheese fries has been relegated to kids food. Having grown up eating very spicy food, the spicy chicken taco was an instant favourite. Not thinking that the honey chili shrimp would be as good, I was a bit shocked that I couldn’t decide whether I liked the spicy chicken taco more or the honey chili taco. The accompanying potato salad didn’t taste like fast food or «refrigerator section» potato salad. The kimchi fried rice was reminiscent of bibimbap and that was a hit. taKO’s KOreanos has a cash-only policy. The good thing is the prices aren’t so extreme that you need a credit card. Great service and outstanding food, I’m a fan, for sure.
