Delish, fast, and friendly… I used Grub Hub and my order was ready and handed to me when I walked in the door. Yum!

Ordered delivery yesterday, and the food came as promised, and still relatively hot. It was tasty, but everything was excessively salty. I ordered veggie gyoza and yellow curry with chicken, and Tom kha soup. I could tell that the curry was well done, but a little heavy on the ginger and salt overpowered the dish and made it almost inedible(if I wasn’t really hungry and craving curry, I wouldn’t have eaten any), but it was tolerable. The soup was also painfully salty, but I could still taste the fresh cilantro, lemon grass, ginger and coconut milk, so again, it was tolerable. But I was looking for good, not just tolerable. I won’t be ordering from Blue Sprout ever again. Positive: The gyoza was perfect.

This is very cozy and small right in the corner. The papaya is my best dish, sweet and spicy. The Tom yum noodle is excellent! Enough for 2. The pad Thai noodles is average. I enjoy my time here.

I live nearby and have walked past this place numerous times but finally ventured in with my parents when they were in town since they love Thai food. We went on a Saturday night around 6:30 and it was a ghost town. Only people in there the whole time. Frankly my husband and I were scared to dine here after seeing the dust on the furniture and the desolate restaurant. We tried to convince the rents to walk out. But alas my dad already opened the wine. What’s a girl to do? So as I sipped on some red I simply informed him that if and when I got sick, it would be his fault. I could not have been more wrong! The food was dynamite. We tried a bunch of apps, soups and entrees between our group and honestly it was all delicious. The service was friendly and attentive as well. I was still nervous as I ate that it would rear it’s ugly head later but it never did. Looks can be deceiving I guess. I would totally eat at Blue Sprout again. However the ambiance tainted the experience a bit– if I had gotten take out I think this would have gotten an extra star. Don’t be fooled by the empty storefront — give it a try!!!

I come here with my girlfriend, once a month. The food is great, and the service is even better. One of the other reviewers said that it was in a ghetto area. Another said something about small portions. Yet another was about bad service. Logan Square is THE up-and-comer as far as neighborhoods go, and this restaurant is in a great location. The portions are HUGE! My girl and I have to share everything. As far as service, the waiter has filled my water four times since we sat down half an hour ago. Take your bad reviews and shove ‘em. This place is tight.

I live very close to blue sprout, thus I order from them frequently. They have always been above average. What made them great was the lovely people that work there. The people are still great there but the food has changed quite a bit after my latest takeout experience. Tonight we ordered beef salad, chicken and rice soup, and chicken panang curry w extra veggies. All of these we have ordered before and we ordered them again because, of course, we liked it. The portion sizes for the salad and curry were so much smaller than what we have ordered before. As far as extra veggies it seemed to be the regular amount(i.e. no extra we paid for). Panang tasted very mediocre and the salad tasted good as we remember, albeit smaller and with significantly less«salad». Only thing that did not disappoint was the chicken and rice soup with ginger; same as before. This area isn’t hurting for Thai joints so I won’t be ordering from here again any time soon, but they are close enough that I will try them again someday to see if they have changed.

First of all, this place is in ghetto area. We felt unsafe walking from our car to the restaurant(which was just across the street). As we walked into the restaurant, no one was there to greet us. There were only 1 party of customers when we walked in. Other other tables were messy and not cleaned(and the whole time we were there, no one cleaned.) The bathroom had no paper towel or hand drier. They took forever to come take the order and when the waiter came to ask how everything is, we were done eating. Although i am giving only 1 star, the food came pretty fast and tasted good but the service and environment really ruined my experience. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

I ordered delivery shrimp pad Thai and crab Rangoon. I was excited to try this place after reading many of the great reviews. After waiting a short 30 min for delivery(I live very close), I opened up my food to find BEEF pad Thai with 3 pieces of shrimp. I’m a pescatarian and haven’t eaten any other meat for over 2 years. I quickly called the restaurant to inform them of the situation. I kindly explained to the man on the phone that I do not eat beef and he said«you ordered through eat street, she said you wanted pad Thai with beef and shrimp.» Ok fine. That still doesn’t change the fact that I did not order beef and I now have pad Thai from your restaurant with beef. He never offered to replace or give me a meal voucher, just quickly hung up after saying he would talk to eat street. $ 10 down the drain because I couldn’t even eat it. To say I’m disappointed in an understatement. I will not be returning.

Blue Sprout is a nice gem tucked away between the pillars of Logan Square and Wicker Park. Sure you may expect to see some tumbleweed rollby, but if you do decide to swing through you’ll find a sound option for thai. I have tried the chicken pad thai, pad khee mao, and beef salad. They were all well prepared, and each owned distinct flavors that deliver as any thai enthusiast would expect. Spiciness was on point, and the noodle dishes had great texture without being oily. Each dish will set you back about $ 7 which is a great value as well. For those dining in — other than the restaurant being on a semi-deserted part of milwaukee ave., the interior décor is quite nice. For those taking out — there is a door on the side of the restaurant with a to-go counter. Also, if you order take-out, you can get complimentary egg rolls or crab rangoon if you spend over $ 15.

Decent Thai food with reasonable prices and a huge menu. I’ve never been to the restaurant but ordered takeout several times. Don’t go out of you way but if you’re in the mood for Thai you could definitely do worse.

Holy spice! After trying several Thai places, Blue Sprout received my friend’s approval. He prefers his Pad Kee Mao nice and spicy, like real spicy. Most places have fallen short but he’s always generous in saying«it still tastes good.» But when we had Blue Sprout delivered a couple weeks ago, his reaction after the first bite was not so much something translatable, rather, a lot of inhaling and exhaling… t’was a spicy dish. Usually, I’ll try his but I opted out of it this time. It did look really good, though. The veggies were bright in color and looked firm, always a good sign. The noodles didn’t resemble inflated, overcooked ramen noodles. He devoured it. Me? I tend to stick with my Pad Thai with shrimp and I’ll add a little hot sauce depending on what kind they send with the food. Theirs pad thai was delicious, their hot sauce was in a packet that looked like a ketchup packet so I steered clear of the hot stuff. OH — they pulled the tails off the shrimp, HUGE points in my book for that one.(It truly is the little things, isn’t it?) It tasted fresh, everything from the noodles to the veggies, especially the shrimp. It was a pretty big portion, too. We also ordered the chicken satay and it was really good. A lot of times the chicken doesn’t have any flavor, just a lot of grease, so you have no choice but to use the sauce they give you. Blue Sprout’s chicken was super tasty and it wasn’t overcooked. We were really happy with Blue Sprout. I’m happy to have dubbed it my «go-to» Thai place. I may step outside of my pad thai comfort zone and explore the menu.

Panang Curry dish was delicious, and very spicy(I asked for medium, crazy spicy). Perfect portion, though. Tofu was kinda weird, maybe better off with chicken. Good stuff overall.

The space is actually quite sad as this used to be a fine dining establishment, so everything in there is exactly as it was before the previous tenant shuttered their restaurant, but the food is run-of-the-mill Thai food. It’s fine, don’t get me wrong… I would even say that it’s the best Thai food in the area, but it’s not anything super outstanding and in a neighborhood filled with outstanding eateries, I’m not so sure how long it will last. I hope that it lasts a while as their delivery is great and their food is better than the other Thai options that are in/will deliver to Logan Square. JUSTDON’T GETTHEFISHINMANGOSAUCE… yech, that was gross.

Well, this review may not be fair because I ordered for delivery and in my opinion, most delivery is not that great or at least it would be fair to say, never as good as actually having the food brought to you, piping hot, right from the kitchen. I ordered: Spring Rolls Crab Rangoon Tofu pad see ew Mango Cheesecake Thai Custard The food came quickly and of course, when it arrived, none of it was really hot enough but it was still better than usual delivery and it was also 14 degrees out today. Still, I wish restaurants could figure out a way to keep your food hot(now feeling guilty and lazy for getting delivery — lol). Okay, I love Spring Rolls and always order them at Thai places. These were mediocre because the wrap was dry and tasteless. The inner veggies were fresh but also dry. The sauce was good. The Crab Rangoon was pretty good but I prefer the kind that are flatter as these had all four corners meeting at the top with a perfectly round ball of cream cheese on the bottom. They didn’t allow, really, for anything less than shoving that whole ball in the mouth at the same time which while tasty, was too much cream cheese all at once. The Tofu pad see ew has a tasty sauce with perfectly cooked broccoli but I didn’t like the noodles which is probably all me. I was hoping they were firmer. I knew this one was a gamble for me because I have never gotten this meal, with this kind of noodle, before. The flavor was quite good but the consistency was a bit gross(but like I said, that’s probably all me). The Asians overall really kinda blow it on the dessert front, in my opinion. I really don’t know why I bothered. I should have known better than to surrender my sweet tooth to such a healthful menu because the Mango Cheesecake was the biggest disappointment of all(though I have not tried the custard yet). It tasted like it had been sitting in their freezer for months getting freezer burn. Don’t waste your money. Overall I was not blown away but would try it again. I would definitely think it better eating there instead of getting it delivered.

I love discovering a new neighborhood spot! After spending an entire day hustlin’ through the new car buying process(go me!), my hubby and I worked up an appetite. His sis and her boo wanted to scope out a neighborhood spot that didn’t require too much walking from our Logan Square apt. Resorting to Unilocal like I always do, I discover this little Thai restaurant that’s also byob(best 4 letter word!). We do the 5 min walk in the cold to find an almost empty restaurant on a Saturday night. I don’t mind, more food for me. The perky server greets us and immediately opens our bottles and hands us menus. I take a second to gander at the interior and it looks brand new. All the tables and furnishings are dark cherry wood with modern, minimalist-feel, reminding me of stepping into the ikea kitchen section. What I didn’t like was a random cardboard box just a couple feet away from me(I posted a pic earlier) because it drew attention away from such a pretty, clean space. We ordered crab rangoons to start and they were super creamy and cheesy, just the way I like it(mama needs her cheese!). My sis in law and her dude ordered tom khas which they loved and after shared a chicken lard na which they said was mediocre. I later had the tofu pad see ew which was amazing and my hubby had the tofu pad thai(pics posted). He loved his dish but as a pad thai master(self-proclaimed, of course), I wasn’t too thrilled. The server was really sweet, checking up on us and refilling our waters every chance he could. Overall, I would suggest this place as a neighborhood go-to for a very laid-back sit-down meal to byob or an awesome take-out spot.

Blue Sprout has everything — presentation, service, fantastic flavor and reasonable prices! On a chilly Friday afternoon, Blue Sprout warmed us up from the inside out by serving dishes of surprising spiciness and flavor. The restaurant has a streamlined approach to furniture and décor, remaining tastefully appointed but still exercising a minimalist enough hand with the kitsch necessary to identify it as a Thai restaurant. A Bodhisattva here, a flower there. Each dish was beautifully arranged and contained reasonable portions. We were pleasantly served by an extremely attentive and polite waitress. She kept our water glasses full and refilled our hot teas promptly. The Panang curry was spicy, savory, and deliciously thick and creamy over rice, impregnated with flavors of peanut and red pepper. The Thai fried rice tasted fresh rather than greasy, and was filled with diced veggies. The Pad Si Ew had just the right amount of the sweet and savory signature Pad sauce, and came generously spritzed with lime and sprinkled with crumbled peanuts and chives. An excellent experience that worked out to about $ 12 per person. I can’t praise this place enough. I only hope it maintains this level of excellence if I visit during a busier time.
