Absolute garbage. I can’t even offer up an anecdote regarding my experience other than… Oh fuck it, if you live in Buck Town you may deserve this.

Decent Thai food, though whenever I order to pick up they never give you chopsticks. So annoying, as I feel that should be a Thai food staple as I prefer to use them vs. a fork when eating my pad sew ew. Pad Thai is a bit dry, but other things I’ve tried on the menu have been decent.

I branched out on a limb and tried Silom 12 for take out on Sunday night. I was extremely excited to see one of my favorite Thai apps on the menu, mee krob. It is so delicious and I have had a hard time finding a good(or any) version in the city. Silom has really good reviews, so I was very surprised by my experience, which was not so stellar. The food, that came oddly packaged like Seven Eleven salads, really was a miss for me. I even stuck to the most popular picks(how can so many people be so wrong?!?). Here’s the rundown: Mee Krob — Not good. Came in the form of crunchy noodles and tofu with the tamarind sauce on the side.. .so you had to toss it.. . yourself! This meant a lot of sauce congregating in the bottom of the 7−11ish plastic container. Uggggggh! Even when I did get some sauce, I wasn’t excited. Overall, I won’t order it again. Paht Thai — Really disappointed. Ordered it with chicken. but it also came with tofu?! So it sucked up the sauce and was REALLY dry. Also, there weren’t any veggies in there. This dish was the biggest disappointment of the bunch. Panang Curry — Star of the show. Really good and the spice was right. I could have drank the sauce with a straw. Would order again. Cucumber Salad — Too much sauce alert(I am probably starting to sound like Goldilocks here)! It was OK. Lots of cucumber, sauce was good but soupy. Overall, I won’t be ordering again from here any time soon. There are much better Thai options in the hood(Thai Lagoon, here’s looking at you!)

Really good food. We eat dinner early and arrive around 5PM on a Friday, the place was empty but they treated us royally. We got the meatballs(no idea to its real name) and they were incredible! Then I had Drunken Noodles with beef while my wife had Panang Curry with Shrimp and she felt it was the best she had ever had. When we left I was honestly shocked at the low overall cost of our meal because it is a nice place(casual dining but not a pub).

I really enjoy getting take out from Silom 12. As the atmosphere is very nice there also, as well as it’s pretty awesome they do BYOB; I just enjoy eating Thai from home, and from Silom 12! They are very accurate with their timing, if they say it will be ready in 20 minutes, it’s ready, thank you Silom 12! Their food — their crab rangoons are amazing! They are different and unique, and most importantly, delicious. I’ve tried their Massaman Potato Curry, their Drunken Noodles, their Pad Thai, and their fried rice. They have good Thai, bottom line! I think the prices are pretty reasonable, you get what you pay for! I really want to try some more entrees on their menu! Their staff is very kind, and welcoming. This is my go to Thai food when staying in the area!

Came in to pick up a carry out order and while the place was very nice inside, the value you get is just not there for me. All in all pretty disappointing to pay so much for so little. For a $ 12 Shrimp Green Basil curry you get 6 medium shrimp For the $ 8 Banana Wonton dessert you get 3 tiny pieces of banana deep fried in wonton with about 3 tablespoons of ice cream… Also, the size of the veggies in the curry is way too large coupled with the skimpiness on meat just makes it feel like you are drinking curry with a few pieces of meat and a leftover veggie tray dumped in. The veggies are the only thing you end up tasting with this amount of meat so couldn’t we at least get nicer sizes? Maybe this is subjective but I don’t like a mouthful of red or green pepper at a time. What I liked: 10% cash discount, the curry itself, delivery area is wide.

Alcohol: BYOB. Don’t let the room separation fool you into thinking the first room /entrance way was a bar, it wasn’t. Luckily there’s a wine shop near by! Food: Duck Entrée — My BF and I love duck dishes! We saw the duck entrée and immediately decided to order it. Unfortunately, it was unexpectedly spicy — great for me but bad for the BF. It was on the pricier side and not worth it in my opinion. Pad See Yew(Beef) — I would consider this an average pad see yew. Nothing special or bad about it. Ambiance: Nice. I would consider the restaurant a bit more ‘fancier’ than casual with it’s dim lighting and modern décor. The dining area is pretty tight in space and when there is a good amount of tables filled, the room can get very(!) loud. During our dinner, majority of the tables were filled and we could hear almost every parties conversation, near or far! There isn’t any white noise or music playing to drown out the other conversations so I left knowing that the 4 person party(2 couples) had been there before and loved the pad thai, and that the 3 person party(all females) really indulged in Jane’s dating life.

Favorite place to get delivered. The other night I was catching up on Empire(the episode where Hakeem got kidnapped while jogging) and the urge for their Orange Chicken set in. The price is higher than most Thai places but so is the quality. I wish they gave a little more orange chicken in the order, but we can’t always get what we want. I usually also get the crab rangoon but this past order I got the mini egg rolls. To be honest, they tasted like the smell of a barn so I wasn’t able to eat more than a bite. Unsure if I got a bad batch or this is how they should taste, because they are a higher rated item on grubhub. I’ll keep ordering and trying new things here because I also got the Chocolate mousse and it was delightful. I’m also going to continue to watch Empire because Terrence Howard is sexy AF(really sucks he is a wife beater though)

I wandered in for a late lunch, early dinner before going into work. I ordered the Larb Gai and the Drunken Noodles with Chicken and a side of jasmine rice. The Larb Gai was outstanding and was a larger portion. The Drunken Noodles were very good and quite flavorful. I ordered the rice to calm down the heat from the Drunken Noodles and to soak up some of the sauce. The Larb Gai with the rice would be the way I will go the next time. This restaurant is not close enough to where I live to be in the rotation, but anytime I am in Bucktown it will definitely be the spot for an inexpensive meal out. My service was speedy and efficient, without having to tell them I was in a time crunch. Highly recommend Silom 12 for casual Thai dining.

Nice food, but kinda expensive for the quality(in my eyes). It tasted good, but… there’s better out there. Sorry guys — maybe I’m biased. Try it. They deliver.

One of my goals while trying new places in the Chicago is to find a place to call«my Thai place». I have tried so many Thai restaurants with some being pretty good and others being disappointing. Still, I have yet to find one that I would be happy ordering from until I die, or the restaurant closes. Silom 12 was close to taking the spot, but still didn’t hit what I’m looking for. My partner and I decided to order it for delivery. I ordered the Paht Siew with chicken and my partner got the Paht Thai. The first thing I noticed were how big the portions were. I was very pleased with that. I find that many, if not a majority, of Thai restaurants serve smaller portions and charge a relatively high price for it. There was an excellent amount of chicken in my dish. The flavor was spot on. The stir fry sauce was flavorful without being overwhelming. The rice noodles where nicely cooked, and not crunchy/hard like some places. I really enjoyed the dish. Throughout my dish I had a really optimistic outlook. Did I just find«my Thai place»? Unfortunately no. My partner and I swapped dishes to try each others. The Paht Thai definitely had a great sized portion like my Paht Siew, but that didn’t make up for the flavor. It did not have that peanut flavor that I look for in my Paht Thai. It was a little sweeter instead, which I can say isn’t something I wanted. The noodles were dry as well. They stuck together in clumps. I also noticed that there was less meat in the Paht Thai than in the Paht Siew. My guess is that because they put tofu in the Paht Thai by default they take that into account as a protein while deciding how much protein goes in each dish. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I would have just preferred more chicken rather than the tofu. Silom 12 is by no means a bad restaurant. I’ll honestly probably order from there again just for the Paht Siew. However, because one of my favorite Thai dishes(Paht Thai) wasn’t up to snuff, Silom 12 wasn’t able to become«my Thai place».

Phoned in my order for Panang Curry on the way from work. Still very very delicious and one of my favorite dishes in the city. I have to bring my hubby here for real dinner so we can taste more delicious dishes. So far he agrees with me that the Panang Curry is awesome.

At last, I found a good Thai eats in the city. I’m a big tom yum and red curry fan so when I stumbled upon this place via Unilocal,I was cited to go! And it did not disappoint. We went pretty late around 9:45 and the place was empty but the servers were very welcoming. We didn’t get the prawn chips some people here talked about, but that’s okay! Appetizer: Creamy Tom Yum soup(of course!) I loved the flavor and richness of this soup. Although I was surprised to find whole green chillies, it wasn’t crazy spicey(although, I generally love spicy. so just order with caution if you can’t handle spice!) Dinner: Spicy Fried Rice with beef, and Red Pepper Curry with Chicken. I immediately became a fan of the rice, though it was once again packed with more heat than I’m used to in fried rice. But the Red pepper curry balanced it out very well! Although I wish the curry had a bit more flavor. Maybe I’ll try to explore other styles next time we go. With their affordable, good sized potion, this was more than enough for two people and I had a pretty decent lunch the next day! We’ll be back :)

We ordered delivery tonight(Friday). It took about an hour from calling until delivery. Green Curry with Shrimp — 3.5 Pretty good with fresh cut veggies and shrimp. There was a biy of heat. The curry sauce was as thin as water; wish it had at least a little substance to at least sit on top of the sauce and not saturate it. They only provided a small container of rice — definitely not enough for two to share! Beef with Flat Noodle — 5 Probably the most simple dish, and definitely the best dish of the bunch. The beef was tender and the noodles were perfect. Pineapple Fried Rice — 2 The 2 is only for the seafood. It was mostly rubbery calimari, but also had shrimp, octopus and tough pieces of bbq pork. There was also some weird textured stuff(pork?) on top… it resembled cotton candy. Skip it. My companion was so grossed out by the whole dish, I ended up taking the leftovers so they wouldn’t go to waste. I tried it again aaaand… the dish was dumped. Tab = $ 45 before tip. Not sure we’ll feel compelled to order again; if so, I know it’ll be for the beef/noodles.

New to the neighborhood and in search of Thai takeout, we gave Silom a shot. I have pretty high standards for Thai cuisine but I gotta say, WOW. From the online ordering process to the interactions with their(extremely friendly) staff, to the quality of food itself, 5 stars across the board. Best green curry I have ever had. Chicken satay and pad thai were excellent, too. The prices were fair for the generous portions, and although we took our food to go, the restaurant was immaculate with cool, modern décor. We will be back to dine in soon.

Ordered delivery to Logan Square. Order came about 1 hr 15 minutes later. Food: — crab rice — i don’t like rice unless it’s fried. and i really loved their crab rice. they were very generous with the crab and you could definitely get a good helping in each bite. i will definitely order this over and over. — panang curry — good. — pad see ew — also good! — thai iced tea — mmmm!!! this never disappoints I’ll definitely order again or go to their restaurant.

We came here excited to eat some yummy Thai food! I will say, the Penang curry was excellent. Best I’ve had in Chicago. We got the crab fried rice — just okay. We split some edamame to start. I had called and asked if we could bring our own and they said yes wine and beer only. We brought sake(rice WINE) and they got nervous and had to check. Service seemed a bit disheveled so it was a bit of an odd experience here and there. But the Penang curry and other curries are what we’ll go back for!

Ambience: Classy. Trendy. Great for a date night or group outing. There are two sections to the restaurant. You can opt for the island table with stool chairs or individual tables with regular chairs. My only qualm is that there is dim lighting, so you may need to light up your cell phone to read the menu. Service: Quick. Despite coming here on a Saturday night, we got served in under 10 mins. Food: Delicious. Tofu pad see ewe is my to-go dish, and they made it well here. Parking: Street parking available.

Look no further! This is a BYOB thai restaurant! For an additional $ 2/person, you can bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy with your meal. Make sure you grab a bottle of wine from across the street at Red and White Wines. The Tom Yung Goong soup is delicious, but beware: there are slices of jalapeño peppers in there. We also loved the Duck Delight! The duck is cooked nicely and perfectly crispy. Also you can’t ever go wrong with ordering Pad Thai. TIP: If you pay in cash, you get 10% off your bill.

I actually stumbled upon this place on accident, the place is really nice and it’s BYOB. The service was incredible, our waitress got things before we even asked for it, like bowls to share food, and water before we ran out, and even apologized for the food taking longer then usual to arrive. We ordered Tom yum soup, drunken noodles with beef, red pepper curry, and pineapple fried rice with chicken. By far you MUSTTRY the curry, it was so delicious! Only complaint I have is that their wasn’t enough rice to go with the curry. The Tom yum was a little plain, and the other dishes were just ok, nothing special. But again– try the curries!
