Very nice BYOB place to have dinner with you friends. Food is good and they bring glasses and ice buckets for the drinks.

Okay, before I explain my 3 star review, I have to say I’ve been eating at Azteca for about 3 years now, and have probably ordered from here over 50 times. I used to live in Wrigley, and now live in Lincoln Park(was super happy to find out they delivered by my new place). The food at Azteca never fails. My favorite thing to order is the chicken tortilla soup, the broth is phenomenal and the chicken is awesome. The reason I’m giving Azteca 3 stars(and it hurts me to.) is because EVERY time, and I mean everyy time, they seem to forget something in our order. I can’t think of a single time where they didn’t forget to include salsa, or forget sour cream, even mistake my entire order for someone else’s. Sometimes with the tortilla soup you get avocados, sometimes you don’t. Last time my roommate ordered extra sour cream, and they didn’t give her any. I made sure to ask them if the salsa is included and he said yes, low and behold no salsa at all(we had a $ 50 order, not even including tip). They forgot my roommate’s soda which we, in turn, felt so bad calling the man and having him come back. The only thing I suggest, and BEG, is that you check the bag before it goes out for delivery. This place can easily be 5 stars, but it’s a shame that there is always something missing.

We took out from here last week. Eh, it was ok. Overpriced in my opinion for Mexican food. They must have the largest mark up of any restaurant food… I mean its mostly rice and beans. They should give more for the prices they charge.

We can’t say enough about this Wrigleyville gem! Amazing Mexican cuisine and faster than any other delivery in Chicago. We have ordered over 20 times and have never been disappointed. We love ya Azteca!!!

I am never disappointed. We order from here at least every other week. It’s hard not to when there are always affordable prices, coupons, delicious food, and insanely fast delivery. We have tried this with many of of friends and no one is ever disappointed. I think at this point I’ve eaten 90% of things on the menu and only once have I ordered something that I wouldn’t order again(the sopes, but only because they weren’t my thing, they were still tasty). My favorite are the tacos rancheros. The churros are incredible! The enchiladas, fajitas, quesadillas, etc. are all so tasty. We never dine in, only delivery, and it has been worth it every time. Order from their website. It’s so easy and usually you can find a discount code. I wish we hadn’t waited so long to try it.

Delicious food delivered faster than expected(actually earlier than the time I requested online but luckily I was there to get it). I always get chicken enchiladas when I have Mexican. Points for enough meat and not too much cheese. The green salsa says«medium-hot»; I’d say hot. Fish burrito was good as well.

Not the best food, they do weird things like only selling their sopes in sets of three, refusing to sell them a la carte, but their service is lightning fast! I mean delivered within about 15 minutes on average. Granted, I only live about a mile away, but they have the very fastest delivery I have ever seen! That is where the warm fuzzies stop with Azteca. The food seems oddly flavored, the steak on my tostada tasted like it had been marinated in dish water or something. So the girl I ordered with told me they will not sell sopes a la carte, you have to buy the dinner, I told her that was unheard of, but I didn’t need the whole dinner, so I asked about tostadas. I asked for two tostadas. She did not tell me that tostadas are sold as unbreakable sets as well and that I was actually ordering a dinner(which I had just told her I didn’t want with the sopes). Poor service on her part, food is very unremarkable, borderline bad, odd policies, but the fastest delivery you could ever imagine. I guess they get a 3? 2.5 maybe? We used to order from these guys all the time, but ever since Martin left, this place has seriously gone downhill both in terms of service and food quality. I hadn’t ordered in over a year because after they lost Martin, the new guy was very rude and cocky. I finally gave them another shot, but this will probably be the last time I order from them. I’ll give them a 3 for old-time’s sake as a tribute to Martin, thanks for the memories!

Omg FINALLY! I had almost given up hope finding great mexican delivery in Lincoln Park. Delivery was fast(almost too fast because I timed their delivery time with when my husband was getting home — but hey I wont complain) I have the chicken enchiladas verdes and they were AMAZING! stuffed with so much chicken and the sauce was one of the best verdes Ive had in a while. The rice was great amd they packed the beans separately as I asked My husband had a burrito and it wasnt greasy or soggy by the time he arrived home.

Food is great but the delivery drivers I’ve had have been weird. I paid for a $ 10 order with a $ 20 and before I could ask for my change he just took off. I planned on giving him $ 5 and keeping the $ 4 and change for myself(which isn’t a huge deal) but he drove off right away. 2nd time, I ordered delivery and the driver kept implying where to sign for his tip. After signing he then asked me how much I was going to tip him. Felt awkward having someone keep bringing up the issue of tipping.

Not a bad late night Mexican spot. The steak is seasoned well for the tacos and they aren’t cut up in small pieces. What struck me were the salty retried beans and no yellow rice. I guess I’m use to a more authentic Mexican restaurant near Pilsen but I guess this will do in wriglyville

I’ve been ordering from here for a while now and I gotta say this place has pretty decent food, especially considering the late-night options. Their tacos are all quite splendid but my favorite is their Azteca de Oro burrito! So much goodness and quality packed into one burrito and not terribly expensive. If you’re looking for a little late night Mexican delivery, this is the spot.

This is a sad day. I have been ordering and enjoying azteca de oro for a few years now and have always been super satisfied with my order. The past 2 times have been shockingly disappointing. They have incremented the price up slightly but the quality of the food has dropped significantly. The steak tacos that I used to love deeply are now fatty and stringy and I can barely eat them without spitting out a few pieces of terrible meat. It just seems like they switched to cheaper ingredients and now overload verything full of cilantro… which is disgusting. The Pico de Gallo was essentially a few tomato chunks submerged in water and mixed up with a fistful of cilantro. Used to be a 5 star place. but sadly with time they have devolved into just another crappy Mexican restaurant.

ABSOLUTELYLOVEDIT! I’ve lived right around the corner from Azteca de Oro for about a year, but for some reason have never checked it out. Boy was I stupid. It is delicious. Great price for a good amount of food. They’re open late and the service is extremely friendly. I had a Azteca de Oro burrito with a spinach tortilla. It was phenomenal. It had everything you would want in a burrito, plus some. Everything tasted so fresh too. My favorite part was that the burrito was wrapped well. I don’t know if this bothers others, but I hate it when my burrito falls apart 4 bites in and I have to finish eating it with a fork. But no, it stayed all wrapped up so perfectly until the very last bite. Haha! It’s the little things. But yes, friendly service, open late, deliciously fresh Mexican food. Would recommend this place to anyone.

I’ve eaten here before and the food was amazing. However, ordering delivery was not the same experience. Yes the delivery man was nice and fast but the tacos were inedible. Pros: Person who took my order was nice Delivery was fast My sprite was cold Cons: Steak tacos were chewy, to the point where I ate only 1 out of 3 and spit out almost all of the steak because it was all fat and hard pieces My tacos only had lettuce and tomatoes when I asked for everything My chips were good but my guacamole tasted like the plastic container it was delivered in Won’t be ordering here again. There are too many Mexican restaurants that know how to make a decent taco to order here again.

So judging by the pictures I thought this place was going to be more of a nicer Mexican restaurant but it’s more of a quick serve style. We did have a waiter come to our table and everything so that was nice. I don’t know how I missed the BYOB when I was looking this place up but I did so I didn’t have a Margarita like I wanted for my birthday but that’s ok, they made up for it with the food which was fantastic! We had 4 people at our table and only one of us had something a little wrong w our order so that’s ok and they were quick to fix it. The only criticism I have is we were dealing with 2 different waiters so we ended up saying a lot of things twice and at the end of our meal I had 10% off for checking in with Unilocal so I told one waiter and the other waiter brought us back a check with no discount. He fixed it thankfully, just gets a little tiring repeating yourself. Go here for some legit Mexican food, it was delicious!

I used to live across the street from Azteca and came here at all hours of the day(they are open until about 4am). After many visits, I can say with full confidence that the carnitas enchiladas with verde sauce is my all-time favorite. The carnitas are full of flavor and depth, and the verde sauce is the perfect amount of heat/flavor. The guacamole is also tasty, and don’t forget to order a glass of horchata. Yum! I’m not a fan of bacon in the fire grilled quesadilla, but nonetheless, it’s a hearty size, even though it’s listed in the appetizer section.

The food quality is great here, the atmosphere is perfectly divey without being grungy, and the location is really great. We went on a chilly wintry night, and it was so great to get some tasty Mexican fare. I had the baja fish tacos, which were great and filling. The fish fillets were cleanly fried, and weren’t overly heavy. They came with rice and beans that I couldn’t even finish. I’d definitely recommend them! There were two strikes against the restaurant, in my view: the baja fish tacos and baja shrimp tacos, despite being the same price, cannot be mixed and matched. You must get three of the same, which leaves no room for adventure! The other thing was that my husband ordered a shrimp burrito and a fish one came instead. AND my brother ordered some fixings on the side that came on top– when he reminded the waitress of what he ordered, she wasn’t very eager to make a new one and made him feel a little guilty about sending it back. So, even though we really liked our server, a lot of order just wasn’t right when it arrived. In the end, though, they did remake my brother’s dish. And my husband didn’t complain, so that’s on him. We’d probably come back if we were in the area… though they’re not without competition for good, affordable dining in this neighborhood!

Omg! I meant to put up a picture of my Taquitos, but I killed those! They were excellent! Stuff with chicken and topped with cheese and sour cream. They were crispy and full of flavor. Such a simple dish, but so filling! It comes with a small side of salsa and guacamole. I also got a side of rice, but it wasn’t that’s good. I was expecting something completely different when we pulled up. I thought it was going to be a large sit down restaurant, but this is like a Noodles and Company but Mexican. You order your food, then sit down and they bring you the food. Nothing special. However, a great place for quick tasty Taqiitos!!! The reason why I only gave it three was because I’m picky when it comes to Mexican and this place was just mediocre, especially since it wasn’t the hype from the other reviews. I will say, the Guacamole is excellent! I bought some to bring home and enjoy since I’m not driving and hour out that way in awhile. I will be back out for the Taqiitos, but not till the summer.

My husband and I were scouring Unilocal after our game we attended at Wrigley Field. Like most places we find on a whim is via Unilocal and I’m glad we did! It wasn’t too busy as it was later in the evening. When we walked in there was only one other group sitting near the back. Martin, the manager, was really awesome and gave us recommendations and chips and salsa to start. I ordered three shrimp tacos, my husband ordered a torta, and we shared a horchata. Everything we had tasted so fresh and delicious! Even the complementary chips tasted fresh. The big bonus was that if you check in via Unilocal you get 10% off your order! Check this place out if you’re in the area.
