This place is okay I used to go there a lot when I lived close by haven’t been there sense we moved. It’s ok. Nice big area for parties though.

Average tacos and oversized quesadillas. Place is OK, but nothing special. It’s certainly worth trying, but it’s nothing to write home about, if you still write home.

Crapy service, crapy food, crapy drinks, and literally the worst live Dj I’ve ever heard. Don’t ever come here… ever…

The place was ridiculously empty for a Saturday… they did have $ 2 «tequila» shots listed on their board out front. Went in with a group of 6 people and already ordered a round of them from one of the bartenders with no problem. We go back for a second round and I order the same thing from a different bartender and he comes back with 6 shots of patron, then tells me I should ordered flacos shots, not just tequila and that he can’t put them back in the bottle so I have to pay. He was so ridiculously rude and did not even apologize, definitely not something you should do to a large group of people when you’re working in an empty bar. Needless to say we left, which was a shame because the dj was actually really good.

Did a tamale making class for a work event. The tamales were awesome as well as the skinny margaritas! Staff was friendly. Had a great time. Would go back again!

Ahh, the sangrita… a little sweet, a little tart, and if you give it enough time, a lot dangerous. It’s enough to make me want to go back. Oh, and my taco flight was pretty tasty, though it’s definitely appetizer sized and I probably needed something heavier. The tortillas chips are a bit on the greasy side, this wasn’t necessarily bad, all things considered. The buffet they had set up during the early afternoon looked pretty good, my friend tried it and had no complaints. And the waiter was great, I know putting up with my crew can be quite a feat. Weren’t a lot of customers when I got there, though it started picking up by the time I left, so I can’t speak on how it is when it’s crowded. I typically avoid Wrigleyville like the plague but if I so happen to be in the area, we may meet again, Flaco’s.

This place is nasty — if you’re thinking of eating here — don’t do it ! The positives first — friendly attentive staff and very quick service ! Now the negatives — the food ! Once you have ordered they bring out chips and dips — they were over cooked and greasy. Ordered the chicken enchilada — and it was just so so bad ! Husband had the Burrito which wasn’t overly bad but not good either — don’t do it !!!

Popped into Flaco’s yesterday for a little Saturday afternoon fun with a friend. We started out splitting a pitcher of their version of the skinny margarita. They were fairly tart and not too sweet which makes for a good margarita in my book. We also got a healthy helping of chips and guacamole to go along with the chips and salsa they brought to the table. I liked the guacamole a lot and there was even some left over which is rare for me. For my meal I went with the brisket torta and crunchy fries. It was nothing special but a good meal. We finished off with another round of drinks before heading out, this time a mimosa for me. All in all the food was not too bad, service was OK, but I think it was a little on the expensive side for what we got. I guess that’s what you get in Wrigleyville though…

Went there for lunch today and had a great meal. Place was empty and sat at the bar. No service issues as the bartender was attentive and friendly. Had three tacos for $ 10 with the best being the Mango Fish Special Taco of the Week. This taco was much better than the pork belly and shrimp tacos though both were decent. I would not call this my favorite mexican spot in the city but for cheap and good eats near Wrigley, I’m all for it.

Some of the worst staff I’ve experienced. I’m sitting in here right now– have been for 15 minutes. There are three tables(less than 25 people) right now with 8 servers– no one has acknowledged us, let alone come to take a drink order. Still waiting.

I’m kinda shocked at the number of bad reviews. I wasn’t blown away by this place but then again I didnt have super high expectations, either. It was as I expected — a fun chill Americanized Mexican place in the heart of Wrigleyville. Nothing more, nothing less. We were drawn into Flacos because of a 25 or 50% coupon they sent us as a «welcome to the neighborhood» when we moved to the area. Glad they did, as I wasnt even aware Flacos was open along Clark. The staff was really nice — both the host who helped us not only get seated but offered to close the windows as the temperature was dropping in the evening due to a breeze and the sun going down. Our server was attentive but not annoying — I like that. The food was ok, above mediocre. The drinks were ok, margaritas were a little small and weak compared to some of my go-to neighborhood Mexican joints(Las Mananitas, El Jardin, and Cesars). Again, I wasnt expecting a 5-star dining destination and Flacos wasnt one, but it did hit the spot and I would surely return.

Two words: food poisoning!!! This is the one and only thing I ate yesterday and spent all night and much of this morning throwing up. Apparently I’m not the only one so eat here at your own risk. Oh, and the service was horrible, had to go to the bar myself to ask for a menu and water after 30 – 40 min of being ignored by our waiter who was lounging around near the kitchen. Save your $ and your stomach issues and go elsewhere. Just so. Not. Worth. It.

«We got tacos so good you’ll slap your momma!» Is the phrase that got me through the door after a cubs game on a Wednesday night. Unfortunately for them, momma is safe from the slap. The chips are fantastic, greasy as hell but fantastic. The guacamole is spot on. Tacos, not so great. I asked which tacos are going to make me slap mom, they answered the fish and the cowboy. Fish was pretty bland, cowboy had dry meat, also pretty bland. Also got a bite of the chicken, again, not great. The bar was set for me with my neighborhood taco joint on diversey pkwy, Los 3 Panchos, it’ll always be pretty tough to match up. All in all, cool bar but I’d pass on the food here.

Great food and drinks but their staff is lacking. One girl that has been there since the beginning is great but all the rest of the employees seem like it’s their first job. Very inattentive, forgetful, and disorganized with very lackluster personalities. But their food and drinks are VERY good! I love the margaritas, nachos, quesadillas and burritos! The restaurant is spacious and decorated very well. The music is sometimes questionable lol either way– it’s worth going!

I was terribly unimpressed with Flaco’s Tacos. I thought it would be a fun spot to grab dinner at before heading out for the evening, but unfortunately I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. I think my favorite part of this experience were the chips, sadly. They seemed fresh and made in-house. The salsa was lacking flavor and flair. I ordered the pork belly taco(the most popular, according to the waitress) and the fish taco. My date also ordered a fish taco and somehow had twice as much fish on his. It is rare that I speak this negatively about a restaurant, but the pork belly taco was horrible. It was tough, it was not flavorful and I had to spit out large chunks of gristle. I couldn’t finish it. My fish taco was a very small portion, and while it was edible, it was bland. My date’s margarita was also very sour. Overall, not a very rewarding experience.

Mixed feelings on this place. It’s a Mexican restaurant that caters to white frat boys, with all the good and bad that comes of that. If you find yourself in Wrigleyville and are too lazy to stagger elsewhere, this place is a good bet. PROS: Offers a greater variety of Mexican taqueria fare than they really have to for this location, and it’s not half bad. Certainly better than Chipotle, which is the standard by which frat boy Mexican places are measured. This location has a very spacious dining room, with a full bar — which in addition to the usual greek row slushies, offers a surprisingly good beer selection. In fact, this place is worth visiting for the beer alone. Bonus points: The fish tacos are grilled, not fried. That’s not only more authentic than you usually find in the Chicago area, it’s also a godsend for your gluten-free dining companions. CONS: As with other Cub fan establishments, you may come to hate each and every drunken Cub chode that staggers in here. Unless possibly you are drunken Cub fan yourself. No good bar serves slushies. I think that’s just a natural law. And as for the Mexican food, don’t go out of your way to come here just for that. It’s good but not bastante bien. SUMMARY: If you are in the area and want beer and tacos, this is the place for you. But if you aren’t already in Wrigleyville, I’m sure you can think of somewhere better. Go ahead, try.

What a pleasant surprise when while looking for a place to eat breakfast, qw drove by and saw a breakfast buffet sign at this mexican place. We were even mire surprised to learn that the buffet was free with just a drink purchase!!! Scrambled eggas, chilaquiles, bean cheese and chorizo mini burritos, rice and more. Everything was hot and delish! Great way to say goodbye to Chicago.

Decent place for a bite, but not really a place you go to just eat. Stopped by for a quick bite with three friends right before a show at the iO Theater, and I ordered a few tacos and a cup of the horchata. The latter was decent but a bit watery, while the tacos were not terrible. The pork and beef ones I had were decent, but the fish taco was not great and not even cut into bite-sized pieces. Overall, the vibe was kind of noisy and not a great place to enjoy a meal. I suppose the intended purpose of the venue involves a lot of people and alcohol, but it was pretty empty around 10PM on a Friday night, making the excessively loud music just annoying. Maybe it’s a better place for a larger group for a party, but it doesn’t seem like it has many people there for that purpose either. Or any purpose, really.

I’ve been here twice, and probably won’t be back a third time. First time was greatly pleasant. I stopped in with a friend«post cubs game» during the week and just had a few quick drinks. Bartender was quick to serve, chatty, and showed signs of life. We decided based on this(and looking at the menu) we would eat here before the second game. Went in and sat down about an one and a half hours before the game. Placed our beer order. About 5 minutes later our beers arrived. Only problem, mine was the wrong beer. I pointed this out immediately(beer missing one gulp). Server apologized, said she would be right back. About 20 minutes went by, no return. After waiting a few minutes longer for my friend to finish his beer, he left cash on the table and we left.
