Clean restaurant with decent choices on the menu. But expensive and the fish could be fresher.

I loved this place. I came once with a group of people for karaōke but didn’t try any of the food. Came back to eat with my family and I loved it ! We ordered four or five different rolls: the playboy, the dragon, King caterpillar, the spider and one other one but I don’t remember what else. We also had the crab Rangoon and the veggie tempura. The tempura and crab Rangoon were really good. My favorite roll was the King Caterpillar. The waitress was super nice. And we literally finished all our food 9 minutes after getting it. We all enjoyed it very much and I’ll be happy to come back.

I recently visited this establishment on a Saturday at 11am because the nearby Oishi didn’t open till noon. We ordered some sushi, shrimp tempura, and chicken yaki udon. The shrimp tempura was good, but it didn’t really used normal tempura breading, it had more of a panko style breading. The chicken yaki udon was just ok. the noodles were a tad slimy, and the sauce wasn’t quite what I was expecting. It had a mild curry flavor. The sushi just wasn’t that great. I’d put it at a step above mall/grocery store sushi. The baked egg nigiri had barely any rice under it while the tuna nigiri had a super thing slice of tuna atop too much rice. The california and tuna rolls were ok, except not a lot for the price. Also, some of the pieces were cut at an angle to look pretty which resulted in the insides falling out easily. Unfortunately, I can’t really recommend this sushi restaurant when so many better ones are nearby.

Great sushi spot located in a plaza off the Airport Road(few doors down from Starbucks). Sushi House is an awesome little nook. It has a beautiful bar, adorned with plenty of TV’s, outside seating, happy hour specials, karaōke, late dining hours and delicious food. I enjoy Sushi House for both lunch and dinner. I am always greeted with pleasantries and promptness. The Chirashi Bowl, Crazy, Christmas, Sunset and Dragon rolls are amazing. The assortment of sushi here is pretty broad so your sure to find something pleasing to your palette. If you need anything at anytime there a service button on each table to ring your waitress. First off, I’ve only been here once. Having confessed this fact, I would like to say that this is a pretty cool restaurant. The waitress who greeted us was TOTALLY pleasant. Whenever you need service, there is a big button that you push. Your table’s number will appear on the wall, and after a minute or two the waitress will pop up to get you what you need. There was a hiccup once where we pushed the button and our number did not come up. So be sure to look on the wall where the red led screen is to make sure that your table number actually appears on the screen, or the waitress will not know that you need service. Now, for the important stuff: The GRUB. We chose this restaurant to celebrate closing on a home, so we ordered a dish here called«The Sushi House.» Way, way cute. They stack the sushi so it looks really cool, sort off like a house, sort of like a pyramid. The flavor was also pretty good. Well prepared and flavorful. We definitely plan on visiting the restaurant again. Very nice bathrooms too. I like the faucet waterfalls. :)

We were at the outlet mall in west county and decided to grab a late lunch. We found a plethora of restaurants at Boone Crossing and decided on sushi. The reviews looked good so we chose Sushi House. We were hoping for so much better and so much more! We had two rolls and three pieces of sushi. We were unfortunately not knowledgeable of the sushi orders. Every other sushi place we have been to gives you two pieces of sushi per order but that is not the case at Sushi House. The food was good and the service ok, but the portion sizes and prices were just disappointing. We actually ended up picking up some more food at The Dam a few hours later!

Excellent meal here tonight. Super friendly staff and I was delighted with the quality of the food. Very clean restaurant. I had the tuna, salmon and the Sea of Love roll. You can see the quality in the pictures and the are truly a work of art.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Sushi House with a dinner followed by a night of singing with friends in the large karaōke room. Our experience was fantastic, and my friends have all been talking about how much fun was had. The food and alcohol were wonderful, but best of all was the service and the karaōke experience. Our server, Myong, was extremely helpful, patient, and kind to all of us. In addition, the karaōke room itself was fabulous — we had three microphones for a party of 15, so several of us could sing together. There was also a button we could press for service as far as ordering more food and drinks. The price for the reservation of the room was very reasonable. The selection of songs(in English) is not as wide as during a karaōke night at a bar, but that was not really a problem, as we still had a blast anyway! Thank you, Sushi House, for a memorable birthday party experience!

Really slow. Bad service. Apparently happy hour is a rip off. People mad. Not pleasant so far.

Really nice décor. Clean and servers were very pleasant. Food presentation was good, maybe a little overkill. We had a Groupon but still was very pricey. The sushi rolls were skimpy on the fish. Waitress English was not great and getting across what we wanted was challenging.

50% off drag beer during happy hour, and they have Saporro on draft what a bonus! Their staff is eager to work and the quality is on point so when I find myself in the area next time, it’s the place I’m going to think about to cure my sushi fix. They even have a private karaōke room? Way cool gotta try that sometime.

I have been to Sushi House a couple of times now for a light lunch of 3 or 4 nigiri. It is the closest sushi place to home and they are an AAdvantage Dining participant. When I want lunch and not something big and heavy and no take-home left overs, a few bites of sushi does the trick. As I have remarked in other reviews, I have no sushi expertise, but have developed a taste for yellow tail and tuna although there others that I eat as well. The service at Sushi House has always been very good, but I am usually by myself and what I order is not special or complicated. It is a very nice place(used to be Yagu). I usually just sit at the bar and might have a beer with my food. Sushi House even has a couple of craft beers, which is nice. As I said, I am not qualified to really judge sushi. I find Sushi House to be acceptable for nigiri, although as you might expect in St Louis, you are not going to get the premium grades of tuna. I have been eyeing their roll menu and should be trying some in the future. I will continue to go back for the reasons mentioned above, although I do think Ocha is probably somewhat better. What do I know, I’m still learning and Sushi House seems fine.

This place was great when it first opened; however, it has rapidly declined in quality, service, and quality. Stopped in for lunch take away. $ 25 for two rolls that were significantly less girthy than before. Taste was average, at best. I’m going back to Oishi as my go to as they are at least consistent.

Our last of 20+ visits to this restaurant was thoroughly disappointing and seems worthy of a hefty deduction in the number of stars I awarded previously. Consequently, I can no longer recommend this restaurant. This is doubly sad considering that over the few weeks prior to our most recent visit we had been toying with the idea of hosting a Sushi & Karaōke UYE here because we were so enamored with the place. Here’s the lowdown: I arrived well before my wife and ordered a happy hour special drink. It arrived about 15 minutes later and after we had been seated. Odd considering I didn’t see another drink delivered anywhere while I waited. The rest of the family arrived shortly after 5pm for an early dinner. One of our teenaged daughters had a hefty amount of homework so we told our waitress(one of the owners) that we were in a hurry and gave her an order for two appetizers to get things started. We also ordered a pot of tea. We rushed to get our sushi order placed before any of the other patrons who arrived after us. There were only two other parties in the place(two ladies at the bar and a 6-top) when we arrived. Here’s what went wrong: — The first appetizer(gyoza) arrived in a slightly longer than usual amount of time and tasted like it always did. The second appetizer never arrived. I asked about it twice and it actually turned up after the check had been paid. — The pot of tea and glasses of water arrived well after the first appetizer even though I asked after them more than once as well. — The sushi order still wasn’t done after about an hour so I told our waitress(one of the owners) that we were out of time and leaving. At that point, kid 2 was literally in tears due to a combination of stress over the amount of homework she had that night and hunger because her’s was the appetizer that still hadn’t arrived and she had(unwisely) not had lunch… thus precipitating the early dinner. We were promised our sushi order was about to be appear and asked to stay. The owner’s face showed genuine concern so we agreed to stick around. Somehow, it was still another 15 minutes or so before the food arrived. — I gave our waitress(one of the owners) my credit card immediately when she dropped off the food so that we could clear out quickly and get the kids home to their homework. I do this regularly in places where I am known and have never had an issue… until this time. I had been overcharged for my cocktail, a couple of things were rung up wrong but what really surprised me was that every single item we ordered appeared on the $ 118 bill — even the yakitori appetizer that we had ordered about 90-minutes prior but which arrived after my card had been swiped. Thoughts on the food: — I didn’t really care for their interpretation of the Lobster Roll. I thought it was odd that the lobster salad portion contained stir-fried vegetables. The pairing really didn’t work. Also, the amount of lobster just didn’t look comparable with what I’ve received in other places in west county but their version carried the highest price. — My wife’s chirashi was lacking the sliced avocado she requested. She really likes sliced avocado so she waited for it… for about 10 minutes. In that time, I decided to compare my Unilocal photo of the chirashi they were putting out when they first opened to what she received. The reduction in the portion size was noticeable. Less variety, smaller pieces and fewer of them. Everything was still very fresh and delicious but there was just a lot less than there had been previously. This was especially odd considering that they have grown into a very busy restaurant. Epilogue: There was no mistaking the fact that I was unhappy with the experience yet nothing was done to make it right and that is unforgivable. No reduction whatsoever on the bill to apologize to some of their most frequent customers. Instead, the owner gave kid 2 a coupon for a free ice cream on our next visit. I think we left that on the table when we departed. I spoke to Jin, the primary owner, to express my displeasure again before leaving. I told him that we had such a bad experience that it would probably be a very long time(if ever) before he saw us again. I received a quick«sorry» and then he went back to what he was doing. I suspect this place has simply achieved a level of success and popularity that they did not anticipate when they opened and determined their staffing levels. All of the same people are still there but there have been very few additions. They are now understaffed and unable to keep up with demand. I suspect these two issues will normalize and reach equilibrium at some point. Maybe that will be when we given them another shot. Maybe not…

This review isn’t about the food its about the KARAOKE! After a birthday celebration we had heard that the Sushi House has private karaōke rooms for your parties. This is awesome as there isn’t many places in Chesterfield that do it anymore. You get a room and you enter in all the songs you want. Its a fun time! Warning — some of the lyrics to the songs they have aren’t 100% up to par(Elton John’s Tiny Dancer to them is «Hold me Closer Tony Danza» but that’s what makes karaōke fun right?

Solid Sushi Restaurant. Won’t Disappoint. In fact, me and my fellow diner were wowed. This isn’t fusion. This isn’t chef specialty offerings. This is fresh sushi. A surprisingly comprehensive selection including sea bass and uni. The rolls offered vary from the classics to fun, inventive new treats. We ordered over the course of two visits: The Saki flight Soft Shell Crab Shrimp Shumai Star Wars Roll Salmon Tuna Yellowtail Sea Bass Tamago and the show stopper, my all time favorite, Uni. Nothing disappointed. Service was on point. Will make this a must visit spot every time I’m in St. Louis.

Came here after a night exam on an impromptu date. We headed over at about 8:30pm, and called ahead enroute to make sure they were still open; they were, but apparently the sushi bar closes at 10pm, two hours earlier than the rest of the restaurant. We got there at around 9pm and the restaurant was completely deserted. They seemed surprised to see us but were very welcoming all the same. I believe we were welcomed, seated, and served by the manager – a very sweet Korean lady who was fascinated by my boyfriend’s half-Korean origin – and her along with the rest of the staff made us feel very comfortable and not hurried at all. We ordered a tempura appetizer from the kitchen, which was solid, and a few rounds of outstanding sushi, as I came to expect after my last visit. Even with just a few minutes until ten, everyone seemed so chill and ready to handle another order. They made what could have been a really awkward and rushed experience into a delicious late night date. Highly recommend this place, which has truly put all my worries about midwest sushi out of my mind.

Came across this place when a flyer was sent to my house. Buy one get one 50% off whole sushi menu during happy hour = YES. We got 6 of their specialty rolls and they were all huge, fresh, and delicious! Lots of filling inside and rice ratio was spot on. I really liked one of the rolls that was wrapped with cucumber instead of rice/seaweed(sweet dream roll?). Good drink specials($ 5 or less) too. Their handrolls were on the small side, and the scallops were not that fresh, but what do you expect from a landlocked state? Super friendly staff, can be a bit of a wait to get your food. Will be back! :)

Ok lets start with why this place is great: Family owned(chef Jin, his mother/father and family) Fresh hand made food Karaōke ROOMS(i have traveled a lot and know of NO other karaōke rooms available for parties and fun in private in St. Louis!) Jin and his family used to own MoMoYama on Clarkson(now Kampi). They have moved to the valley and lets start with the décor. They did most of this fabulous work by themselves. It really looks great with a full bar/sushi bar and dining room. Then the awesome karaōke rooms for singing while drinking/eating so fun! There are also about 15 large screen TV’s for all the sports you can watch! The food is top Notch meaning fresh fish(i eat alot of just the fish) and Jin’s take on rolls that are amazing looking and tasting! White Tiger and Lobster rolls will have you coming back time and time again! Jin’s Mother and Father are kind and enjoy regulars returning and make you feel at home. I suggest you go here then try other places and you will see why its is the best in St. Louis. I am happy to know and frequent it weekly!
