Great experience! We enjoyed edamame and miso soup to begin along with the Kai Yaki(lots of mayonnaise). We ordered three rolls — — the Chelmsford roll the sunrise roll and a spicy scallop roll. We enjoyed them all! Great service, great atmosphere

First and last visit. I ordered the magnela roll? I forgot what it was called because it wasn’t that good to remember. Anyways it had shrimp tempura inside, «tuna», salmon, avocado, jalapeños and siracha on top. I don’t know what kind of Tuna that was but it looked like raw old beef. That’s how disgusting it looked. I also ordered the uni sushi and wanted to try it for the first time and I’m not sure how it’s suppose to taste but I know it didn’t taste right because it had a funky after taste like it’s been in the fridge for awhile. I’m not the type to complain because I’m a server myself at a sushi restaurant, but I just took the tuna off and ate everything else on the sushi roll. Hopefully I don’t get sick.

We came to the restaurant quite often, and enjoyed everything we ordered here. The service is superb and saturday/sunday lunch specials are the best deals.

Although the atmosphere was pleasant(obviously a cd that was disjointed– I went from tranquil Japan to a night club) the food was very obviously frozen previously. They have a great atmosphere and should be using fresh beef and chicken. I don’t eat sushi though, so I have no opinion regarding that.

I was so disappointed in what I ordered I couldn’t eat it. I order Spicy Scallop and a Happy Roll(I think that’s what it was called) with shrimp and eel. When it was brought to the table it smelled fishy. First red flag. The eel was too chewy. Second red flag. The spicy scallop was doused in this creamy sauce, so much so you had to fish around for the pieces. I ate a piece, the sauce was a warm mayonnaise sauce that was so overpowering that you couldn’t tell there were scallops beneath it. Why would they want to cover up good fish, unless it wasn’t good? I didn’t eat, I left a $ 3 to and left. I would never go back again.

Came here with some friends for a girl’s night out. I loved the décor and the Asian style benches. The staff was very friendly and were quick with our drinks. There is a lot to choose from on the menu, so if you don’t like sushi there are other things. I ordered the goyza and the tuna roll. Both were amazing. The goyza has a slight crunch, which I loved and the tuna rolls were fresh and delicious. I had the miso which was very flavorful. I also ordered the Horin sake. It’s got a kick, so be careful if you’re driving. My friends got done if their hand rolls and they really enjoyed theirs as well. I think the cost is reasonable for the quality of food that you get and the amount of food on your plate is pretty good. For dessert we tried the fried bananas. They tasted very much like pancakes with the drizzled maple syrup! I would recommend this place for a night out with friends or for a date night. If you like sushi this is a great place to go.

This is nice little place. The décor is really cute. It’s has a more calm and relaxing atmosphere than other places which I really like. The sushi here is okay, but for the price you pay, it’s really great. I come here when I want decent sushi and on a budget.

My wife & I have eaten sushi all over the country(NY, LA, SF, San Diego, DC, Baltimore, Chicago & more) due to my work travels & Sakura can hang with the best if you order the right rolls. We now live in N. Chelmsford & in our opinion is the best sushi in the area. We’ve tried most other restaurants & haven’t been wowed by any of them. Alan(the owner) is a really cool guy & will make an effort to get to know you if you come in regularly. We asked him if he would make us a custom roll(tempura shrimp & avo on the inside; alternating tuna & salmon on top with a thinly sliced jalapeño & a drop of sriracha) which he did. We had eaten this roll at a popular restaurant in Hollywood on vacation & loved it. The next time we showed up it was on the menu as the«Magdalena Roll»(wife’s name). I highly recommend Sakura if you are in the area. Ignore the negative reviews, order the specialty rolls & you’ll be impressed.

I so wanted to give this place a better review, because I LOVE Japanese food… however the 3 times I’ve dined here, I’ve been dissapointed. First off, the manager who works there is constantly rude, I keep trying to convince myself that maybe it’s a cultural thing, but every other Japanese place I’ve visited people are friendly… I think this guy is just way to stressed & needs to take some customer service classes. I’ve gotten the Chicken Teriyaki lunch time Bento Box… the Teriyaki on the chicken tastes watered down. it doesn’t stick to the chicken & it’s pretty tasteless… it’s almost like a peice of chicken that’s been very briefly dipped in a soy sauce/teriyaki sauce then thrown in the box. Also the California Rolls that come in the Bento Box… they put such a paper thin layer of rice, you can barely taste the rice. I don’t know if they’re just trying to save money & be stingy with the rice??? But I’ve had WAY better California rolls… & seriously, how can you screw up a california roll??? it’s just rice, avacado, cucumber, imitation crab & seaweed… come on… don’t be so cheap with the rice! The best thing I’ve eaten at this place is the House Salad with the Ginger dressing. The last time I went there I sat on their wooden benches(where your feet go under the table) those seats are SO old, that the wood is splintering off, I got a peice that ripped off, went through my pants & into my leg… I was able to pull it out with tweezers(that I keep in my purse) when I told the grumpy manager that I just got a splinter from his seats… he just stared at me like I had 3 heads… NO apology… NOTHING. I will NOT be giving this place another penny of my money. I you guys want good Japanese food in the Chelmsford MA area… I would recommend 7 Nana Japanese Steakhouse(near Treble Cove Plaza)… or Feng Shui in Chelmsford MA. Do NOT waste your money on ok food, &HORRIBLE service from a rude manager.

I think i have been going to this place for 4⁄5 years now. Can’t go wrong with their sushi here. Service is good. Waiters/Waitress are friendly. Their fried ice cream is good.(not the«fried ice cream» that is rolled in frosted flakes. thats not fried ice cream.) Ordered take out as well, sushi still good. Looking for a quiet sushi dinner/lunch? Come here.

Great place. Love the atmosphere and staff. The sushi isn’t all that amazing but it will suffice for an empty stomach. I usually come here when I have a sushi craving and a budget.

We go here at least twice a month for the chirashi, sushi special, and shrimp tempura. Have never been disappointed with the service, presentation, or the quality of the food. The owner is very personable and friendly. I don’t know of any other reasonably priced Japanese restaurants in this area that serve this quality of fish. Not sure what other reviews mean by «bland» or «flavorless» as Japanese food is light and solely focused on the taste of the fish. Definitely 110% recommend for lunch(especially on the weekends for their lunch specials).

Avoid the chicken. Avoid the goddamn chicken. After that, Sakura fluctuates between distinctly average and pretty great. What do I like? The sushi, ignoring its price, is quite good. The owner is a fantastic fellow. He also introduced me to some strange picked unripe mango appetizer that was delicious. What do I dislike? Everything else seems to lack flavour and pizzazz. Their gyoza isn’t crisp enough, the udon and don buri are… boring, and their chicken is just plain awful. I keep ending up here though, since you can have a good time if you’re careful. Just avoid the chicken.

Very fresh sushi and I great selection of it. If you dont like sushi, the menu is packed with plenty of other yummy selections. Nothing too special but worth a try if you’re craving Japenese close to home.
