My wife and I ate their today and I’m at a loss to understand the many«positive reviews» I read regarding this diner. 1) This diner is small, in fact so small conversations from other patrons can be easily overheard. 2) Server wait time was longer than it had to be. While a greeting smile was shown and our coffee cups filled, our order wasn’t taken for another 10 minutes. 3) Food wait time was long, we waited almost 20 minutes for our two orders to arrive and they were not busy. 4) My western omelet was bland and its ham pieces were over cooked. The side order of baked beans were very very dry, possibly from being old and reheated. My wife’s eggs and kielbasa were good, BUT the home fries had absolutely no flavor. 5) The wait staff seemed to be confused on who had what tables ?? Bottom Line Question is: would I go back and my answer is NO, their are better diners in the area at this time.

Finally tried the Chelmsford Diner. The veggie omelette was enough for 2 meals, stuffed full with spinach, asparagus, tomatoes, onions, peppers… Home fries were tasty, crispy, not mushy. Homemade corned beef hash was heavy on the meat, and the portion was huge. Pumpernickel toast was a nice option. I don’t think they are as well known or as popular as other breakfast places in town, but they deserve to be.

Unassuming. Large portions, good food, friendly service. My daughter got sugar cookie pancakes with icing and sprinkles and loved them!!! Irish Eggs Benedict was good too.

An awesome laid back diner atmosphere. The boyfriend and I got omelets and they were delicious. I got the Southwestern omelet with spinach instead of chicken. It was so spicy and totally hit the spot.

The wait time for our food was ridiculous. The 2 of us probably waited 45 minutes for our food. Then, my order wasn’t even done correctly. And lastly, the food was mediocre. Nothing special about it– I could have whipped something up at home better. I expect more from a local diner. I won’t be coming back.

Came with my girlfriend when they were somewhat busy(~75% occupancy of a very small dining room). It took around 15 minutes to place an order and another 45 to receive the food. For simple two egg breakfasts, this is way too long. The food itself was very bland. Serving sizes were small and some of my food was burned, as was my girlfriend’s. We went because of the gluten-free menu but won’t be back.

This place is very clean, great service and the food is excellent. I’m very picky. Get the sweet potatoe home fries.

I live around the corner but drive out of my way to go elsewhere. The service is terrible to say the least. Yes the potions are large but mediocre, so if you don’t mind terrible service and a good portion of OK food this place is for you. We sat at the bar and waited… and waited for service. We even tried flagging down the numerous staff that walked by to no avail. Ended up paying for our coffee and leaving. This is not the first time we have had this issue with the service. The first couple times we figured they were just busy but this time there were many empty tables.

Food is always yummy and you feel welcome as soon as you come in. My husband and I went once for breakfast, Now we are regulars! We live in Dracut, But will only come here when we go out for breakfast! My favorite is the Irish Benedict! Great place for biscuits and gravy and homemade corned beef hash YUM! Eggs always perfectly cooked & the home fries are crispy & nicely seasoned. Pancakes are light & fluffy, Belgian waffles, French toast and cinnamon roll pancakes are amazing. Portions are huge and everything is fresh and homemade. Great Food, good service, friendly staff, and great prices JUST A GREATDINER!!!

Slow, rude service when hardly any other customers were there. Booths and restroom were unclean as well. Food was average.

Unilocal says similar to Café 12? Why? because it’s breakfast? okay. Chelmsford diner is fine if you want eggs, toast and bacon you could cook at home but don’t feel like cooking. decent but nothing special. although definitely better service than Rosie’s.

I’ve occasionally visited this diner in the past and received decent service… up until this morning. I brought my 3 yo daughter in for some chocolate chip pancakes. The place seemed pretty busy. Didn’t seem like anyone noticed our arrival but we sat down anyways right at the end of the bar. We sat and waited for someone to acknowledge us… nothing. About 20 min passed by as we watched a father and daughter(who arrived shortly after us) place an order as well as a nearby table being served. Still nobody had addressed us. Finally a waitress turned around and casually mentioned something about us sneaking in and asked if we wanted something to drink. She brought water for my daughter and didn’t even leave a straw. She came back shortly after and took our order. Another 30 min passed by. Nothing. By this time, the father and daughter who came in after us had finished their meals and left. Coincidentally another table next to us ordered the same exact dishes. Those ppl sat down after us, got their food first, finished eating and my food didn’t even come out yet. I seriously considered just walking out but felt bad because I had placed an order already. I WILLNEVEREVERSTEPFOOTINTHISPLACEAGAIN. The staff are oblivious and it’s such a shame because we’ve always enjoyed the food here.

Decent place, decent food, extremely slow service. We came here to hopefully grab a quick breakfast and ended up staying here over an hour. Our server was super friendly, but sometimes super friendly means super slow. She wouldn’t stop talking to EVERYONE! It felt like she was there to socialize rather than wait on tables. She forgot my wife’s coffee, we had another waitress fill up our waters, and it took forever to get our order of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and poached eggs. The food was ok. The poached eggs were perfect, the scrambled eggs were okay, the pancakes were okay, but are really thick and my son didn’t really like it. They were okay. Bottom line, a bad server wasted our morning and probably took away from a decent place.

This place is certainly not fancy, but has decent food with decent service. Main warning though is that this place is small. We called ahead about 20 minutes, and they had a line out there door, and by time we arrived, the place was a ghost town. There’s only something like 10 tables, so it can fill up fast I imagine. There seemed to be quite a bit of regulars kicking around, and the waitresses seemed to know a fair number of people who were coming in and out. There was a group of 6 of us, including a 3 year-old. The waitress deemed to dote on the 3 year-old, which made all of us happy. They had some crayons, and at the end of the brunch, gave a little packet of gummies, which obviously the kid loved. The gluten-free menu is also pretty good. They have pancakes, waffles, etc on there, as well as the normal eggs. They have a devoted grill apparently for the gluten-free, which means it is late on coming out since they keep the grill off until they need it. Very gluten-friendly though, which is nice. Short story, not fancy, not expensive, but solid food done well.

This place isn’t fancy, but it’s really good. Nice friendly down to earth service, rarely a wait during prime time on a weekend, and TONS of gluten free options. It’s in a random strip-mall a bit off a main road in Chelmsford. There is random stuff on the wall and unsightly piles of stuff in the back towards the bathroom, but it doesn’t matter because you’re going to be eating a delicious breakfast. The egg scramblers are like omelets that just exploded from having too many items inside. The muffin flavors change every time we go and they always taste good. My wife loves the gluten free banana walnut pancake and rarely orders anything else.

My go to for breakfast in the area. Quick service, huge portions, not complicated. Also, they use fresh spinach in omelettes and the coffee is pretty good for diner. It can get busy on weekends though. Hopefully they can expand.

We’ve been coming here about once a week for a year, but unfortunately the service has gone steeply downhill over the past month or two. The food is pretty good, especially the pancakes and omelets, and reasonably priced. But the real reason we came here was the relaxed community feeling. You could always expect to see lots of regulars and big smiles from the waitresses. Now those same waitresses look stressed and overworked, it’s not unusual to have to wait a while for a table, and the kitchen gets your order wrong about 50% of the time. It seems like they need to hire more help ASAP, but until they get their service issues sorted out, we’ll be going to the Owl Diner in Lowell(it’s farther away but the food is better and the service is always fast).

I think this place is relatively new and it showed during my visit here. When we arrived the place was full but luckily there was nobody waiting in front of us. There is literally no waiting area whatsoever. I felt bad for the party that was sitting practically in the front doorway, since we were all forced to stand over them while they ate. When a table did open up, I tried to sit down before they cleaned it just to get out of the way but a waitress yelled over that it wasn’t ready yet, so we were in the way no matter where we went. Once we sat down the experience got better, but it was still obvious that they were working out the bugs that come with being new. I noticed two options on the menu that were identical to each other but being sold for different prices. Luckily when I ordered it they charged me the lesser of the two. The food was tasty but average. The next time I come to Chelmsford I’ll probably visit one of the other area diners. This place has potential to be pretty good but isn’t quite there yet.
