If your looking for a fun night, good food, and supersized portions this is it! The showmanship and attitude of the teppanyaki chefs are great and make the atmosphere ideal for a fun dinner with anyone! Also, the amount of food you get is unreal and you always leave with a take out box full of leftovers even after stuffing yourself with laughs and fried rice. Go for the steak, shrimp, and chicken combo!!!

I was really in awe when i walked in and saw the blue-lit ceiling. I was very appreciative of the server having helped me mark the cooked sushi orders on the paper because I was really against eating anything raw. My bf thought i was being a snob by «making» her mark cooked items on the list for me but really I wasn’t trying to be difficult. I just saw on the paper names but no description so it was hard for me to pick which is raw and which is cooked. She happily marked everything for me and i was beyond thankful. She was very considerate when taking used plates away, always making sure she asked us if we were finished before she took it away. She was very very professional and provided excellent service to us. The food was great and delicious. I would definitely be back if I ever stop by charleston again.

Would give 5 stars if they weren’t so pricey. You get more rice than anything else. The food isn’t bad it’s just they should give you a little more meat. It’s always fun watching them cook though.

Hibachi Hangover: When you wake up with that filmy hibachi aftertaste and you still smell like fried shrimp and steak. Miyabi is somewhat of a miracle. I didn’t suffer too badly from hibachi hangover. It’s possible the chefs prepare the food in a way that doesn’t leave that aftertaste. In addition, the hibachi grill tables seem to have better ventilation systems. What also sets Miyabi apart are the chefs’ personalities. The more applause you give, the more entertainment you’ll get. Who doesn’t love a rice sculpture of SpongeBob SquarePants? An onion stacked volcano with soy sauce lava and a sprinkle of crackling salt in flames? The fake squirting ketchup bottle gag? The flying bowl of shrimp tails perfectly landing on top of the chef’s hat? The suspense of getting smacked in the face during the chef’s Chuck Norris presentation of twirling hibachi shakers? This place is not for the easily startled. Count on sporadic loud slamming of metal spatulas and the boisterous thunder of birthday drums.

Good Evening, My name is Parke Smith and I am just a regular patron at your restaurant but I have a serious complaint about their inflexibility and ability to accommodate a lucrative request. On Saturday the 20th of February I adrived at your Charleston location. My request was for the table cook to make my order to go while I drank at your bar. I was refused by your bartender, hostess, and general manager. As an owner of a multi-million dollar consulting and management company that directly deals with guest satisfaction I was very let down by their inflexibility. They also refused to give me a way to contact a GM, franchise company, or anyone who could assist in facilitating overall guest satisfaction and change. This is unacceptable for a hospitality venue. They were also unable to give a valid reason as to why they couldn’t accommodate my request other than an owner who they would not let me contact did not allow this. Overall very off putting. I will be removing all of your rack cards from my hotels and no longer recommend you for our guests. I am sad that it came to this however with this inflexibility and my willing to pay any price to receive this accommodation you can see why I feel the way I do. I would very like to have an open conversation with someone in corporate about this problem. We are Charleston not Myrtle Beach. Our first time here, nice big restaurant! Staff all very nice. Chef was a little messy but entertaining. My husband loved that they offered ranch dressing instead of ginger only. Next time, we will order the filet. The thicker cut of meat looked better than our thin rib eye. We both ordered steak and shrimp. Shrimp was excellent. 5 oz ribeye was too thin. My husband asked for medium rare and we both ended up getting medium well. Any thin piece of meat is easy to overcook. I do wish they added fried eggs to the rice. Overall, fun dinner out and SO much food! The sherbet ice cream was a great finish!

Both sushi bar and hibachi are terrific. However, if you go for hibachi, remember to be before 6pm in weekdays and 5pm before weekends for the early bird sale. You can walk in to the sushi bar at any time directly. The sushi bar combo is a great deal with premium sushi! The hibachi service is of the top quality and huge quantity! 2 dishes for 3 people is already more than enough. Besides, they serve free salad, free soup, free ice cream with less than 20 $ for one person. And, yummy!

No gluten free options… Regular rice nothing to jump up and down for… Service not great… Definitely stay away! Expensive and not worth it! Go to Kyotos in Summerville!

My husband and I went here for my birthday. It was a nice atmosphere and pretty normally priced hibachi. The chefs put on a good show but nothing out of the ordinary.

Great stop — Great service. I asked for no wasabi with my rolls because I hate that taste. After I took the first bite of my salad and got the wasabi ginger taste the chef came out and said he just realized I ordered my rolls with no wasabi and knew I would hate the dressing on my avocado and shrimp salad. They changed it out at lightning speed and I hadn’t even complained. The fresh spring rolls were to die for. I loved the Philly Roll but the eel roll was just OK. Only complaint was the fruit flies hanging out all over but they seem to be everywhere in SC from July to September. Very quick turn around on my order and I would dine again.

First time there. Really thoughtful service at the sushi bar. Good rolls good sushi. Only issue was slightly charred salmon skin roll.

Frequent this place once a year and don’t know why I keep going back. Ridiculously expensive for 2 pounds of rice, minimal veggies and fatty meat. Cooks try to liven it up but if you’re not into it, either are they. Wait staff is nice and attentive if it is t busy but if you go durning the weakens order two drinks at a time or else you won’t see the staff for a awhile.

You cannot miss the sushi in the sushi bar, not the California rolled. Real Japanese chef, real Japanese taste. Chef and staff there are really nice. I really love the sushi they made there one by one, and highly recommend the tofu soup.

It had been at least 3 years since I’d been to Miyabi, so I was excited when my friend’s Birthday celebration sent us to West Ashley for some hibachi fun! I was with a party of 16 so we fit around two hibachi tables perfectly. As you know, hibachi dinner service is fast, fun, and very interactive.(If your not a stick in the mud, and want the service to go that way of coarse.) We were lucky enough to have an awesome chef, Jeremy, who had his hands full with our group full of lushes(SAKETIME!!), but he handled us with no problems! The only food item we weren’t crazy about was the calamari. It wasn’t served in the traditional small ringlet form so it was a lot chewier than everyone was used to. That aside, the hibachi food was all fantastic. I always order a filet and scallops. The scallops were huge and delicious and the filet was extremely tender and flavorful. One of my favorite parts about going and splurging on hibachi is the amount of leftovers I leave with. I have at least 6 more meals I can get out of the to-go box in my fridge! :-)

If hibachi or sushi is what you want– this certainly fits the bill. I can’t say it stood out more than any similar place I’ve been, but nor did it fall behind. I think if you go in with realistic expectations for a typical traditional hibachi service, you will not be disappointed. We went in with a massive group of fifteen and they were very accommodating, though I must admit we had a few snags with one order of sushi being wrong again and again and again. However, it was great for the kids in the group and I think that’s a strong point of this place– great entertainment for kids who have never been to a hibachi place. The chefs are lively and fun. They may not be innovative or groundbreaking, but they do what they do well. As for the décor, it didn’t bother me, but then again, I wasn’t looking for someplace trendy and sophisticated. So, for a casual night out, or a group with kids I’d say this would do just fine. I will say it IS on the expensive side, and I’m not sure I’d go back on my own solely due to the price vs. what you get. For the cost, i’d go once, but don’t think I’d ever become a regular. I wouldn’t be surprised if many would argue its overpriced.

The food is good and so is the service. Sadly the menu and the ambiance haven’t changed since 1987. When it was fresh, new, and exotic it was amazing. Sadly… it stopped being all of that in the early 90’s. Now it’s just the same old same old. It’s good, but is it great? No. No it is not. It is the same redneckish show and touristy-trap kind of food you get everywhere.

Miyabi is a good solution for not wanting to cook dinner but it’s not a go-to place for sushi. The biggest disappointment is the fish-to-rice ratio. My preference is just enough rice to hold a roll together. I opted to sit in the sushi bar. The starry night mural on the ceiling is reminiscent of the Venetian’s ceiling in Vegas but don’t expect the opulence. It’s a great place for a date. My hubs and I split the TNT roll, Philly roll, Jamaican roll(spicy), Mexican roll, and Blue Crab(spicy) roll. Out of the rolls ordered: * Favorite: Blue Crab * Least favorite: Jamaican * Notable mention: Philly — At other sushi bars, I always have madago added. Miyabi automatically adds madago, win. Miyabi deserves another shot. Next time, I’ll try their hibachi. Update 4÷23÷14: Last night, I tried the hibachi. Pros: Huge portion of food. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. Cons: Huge portion of food. No egg in the fried rice.

The food here is excellent every time. There’s not much different here compared to any other hibachi style japanese steak house, but they hit the nail on the head. The chefs are always very entertaining and put on a great show. They do all the traditional tricks and stick to what they know. The service from the wait staff is always good, but you usually don’t see too much of them at a place like this. Your eveys are almost always on the grill. Try some sushi from the bar as an app or come early for the Early Bird Special and get a discount. No matter what time, you always leave with tons of food and big box of leftovers. Never ask for extra rice! I definitely suggest a reservation on a weekend night or you might be waiting for quite some time.
