We love to cook and when we are traveling the quest for fresh ingredients becomes part of the fun. While on a boat excursion to Morris Island, we passed by a few fishing boat and asked about fresh catch in the area. He recommended Crosby’s. This place is located off the folly rd on the second floor. The selection ranges from local fish caught daily, oysters and crab. They also have a selection of lobster tails, variety of crabs(snow, king) and conch in their freezer. For around 39 bucks we got ourselves a feast of fresh seafood inclusive of crab legs(we boiled them for 8 min, swordfish– the best that I ever had and some juicy shrimp). Check out the pic that I posted! The service was adequate and fairly fast, the price is very reasonable.

This place is pretty small and really doesn’t have any parking to speak of. I am not saying to do it but I couldn’t blame anyone for parking in the hotel lot near by. All the seafood I saw appeared to be fresh and of a reasonable price. We went there for frozen crab legs and they allowed us to pick the ones we wanted out of their large box. That was nice instead of getting the grab bag you usually get out of the grocery store. Again the people working were super nice and helpful. well worth a visit.

This is a great local seafood shop. I went in today and got 1 lb of shrimp and ½ lb large scallops for just under $ 20!!! You can’t beat the freshness and price. A huge variety as well. A lot of restaurants in Charleston also use Crosby’s as their go-to for fresh fish.

Recommended by Mt. Pleasant Seafood for eel. Sadly, it’s too late to order for tomorrow’s Christmas Eve supper.

This is the place to buy shrimp on Folly! Or any other seafood, fresh and local and always tasty.

This is a great place to buy local seafood. The interior is pretty sparse but what they lack in decorating skills, they more than make up for with selection. They always seem to have the best prices on fresh shrimp in the area. Also, for many years I’ve gone to them for my oyster needs. The fish selection is quite nice as well. Definately a Charleston gem.
