Incredible food, wonderful staff. Oysters were delicious. Some of the best poke on the mainland. Literally not a single bad word could be uttered about this experience. Fantastic place and will be back next time in Charleston.

Long line. Awesome 25 min. Wait. Ordered wine drank it the whole wait. Sat right in front of kitchen. Loved every minute of it. Ordered lobster roll, fish taco, shrimp taco, raw sampler platter and key lime pie. Service was phenomenal. Food was superb. Do not go with a group. Go alone or with one other only. It’s super small, mostly bar space. Always worth the wait. Do not leave.

We were craving lobster rolls on our trip to Charleston and heard this place was good. It sure was. We walked in one Sunday night and got lucky to get the last three seats at the bar immediately. This place is very cozy. Few tables and bar seating. We knew what we came here for so we each ordered a lobster roll. Upon waiting for our food, we couldn’t help but notice the guy behind the bar setting up an order of oysters. They smelled and looked fresh and delicious. A few moments later the rolls came. They were packed with lobster meat in a small/medium sized bun. They were really good! Probably one of the best rolls I’ve had. I can really taste the freshness of the lobster and the plentiful they stuffed in it. It came with a side of chips which I can’t recall how good they were which didn’t matter. These rolls are pricier than others, but you are paying for quality. Wish the rolls were bigger! :)

Everything here is fresh and delicious, even the men working behind the counter… or at least I assume they would be, they’re all very cute! I had the ahi tuna burger and it was melt in your mouth good. The bun had just the right amount of crispiness and the toppings were superb. My friend had the scallop roll and it too was divine. You can’t go wrong at this place. Prices are high, but you get what you pay for, quality food and nice ambience.

Oh my god. Probably the best meal I’ve ever had. Everything was so fresh and so delicious. We waited for probably an hour and a half, but the host bought us a plate of guacamole for waiting for so long(so nice, and I really love when restaurants go the extra mile). The place is tiny, probably 15 seats or so, so expect to wait a while. We had 4 people with us which only further complicated things. The guacamole was delicious, we all commented that it was some of the best we’ve had. We also tried the Ahi Poke and of course some oysters to start off the dinner. Everything was phenomenal. I haven’t always been a huge fan of oysters, but these were so fresh and clean! The Tuna was like butter. For dinner I sampled the Lobster Roll and Tuna Burger(split half of each with a friend). Was it the best lobster roll I’ve had? No, but it was definitely up there. The Tuna Burger is what really stood out for me. It was cooked perfectly and all of the toppings melded together. Yum! The boys had the pork and fish taco, and the Sea Scallop Po’ Boy. I only heard rave reviews of everything they ate. Our server was very attentive, and although the place is small it wasn’t super loud so you could have a nice conversation with those at your table. When in Charleston, 167 Raw is a must!

I don’t have a sentence in my lexicon to describe how amazing the food is here without using profanity. The food was f*cking heavenly. I had the sea scallop Po boy, which was served on a delicate roll, with super tender pieces of scallop, with a little bit of a kick. It was phenomenal. I also had a bite of the tuna burger, and I cannot overstate how amazing that was. The food is to die for, and worth every penny. To top it off, when the food is this good, service can sometimes slip by the wayside. This is not the case here. Such friendly staff, super attentive. Everything about this place is amazing

My wife and I came here for lunch on a Monday, and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The space is rather small, with only two tables that can seat about 4 people each, and the rest of the restaurant was bar seating. So it’s not a great place for big groups. Our service was accommodating, friendly, and helpful, which is always appreciated. I decided on getting the Tuna Burger, which is a generously-sized, lightly-grilled tuna patty between two slices of brioche bread with some pickled onions, greens, and a mayo-like spread. It was AWESOME. The patty was smooth and tender, since it was mostly raw tuna, and the flavors of the onions and spread all meshed together really well — it wasn’t enough to overpower the tuna, but provided the added layer of flavor that complemented the tuna well. The brioche bread was an ideal vehicle for the burger — buttered and grilled to add depth of flavor, while still being soft and fluffy. If you like raw tuna, this sandwich is definitely for you. My wife got an Entrée Salad with Arctic Char. In my opinion, her dish was better than mine. The main reason was how they prepared the Arctic Char. It was grilled to perfection — an impeccable sear on the skin gave it a nice crunch, while the meat remained tender and juicy. The salad was a generous portion of greens, tomatoes, and pickled onions, but the star of the dish was definitely the fish. While the available seating was limited, the food here was fantastic and reasonably priced. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long for our seats, so I think coming at the right time might be key. During our short trip to Charleston, this was hands-down my favorite place to eat.

These five stars don’t lie. I was not the least bit disappointed in what I had tonight at this establishment. Let me just throw my recommendation in there with everyone else. Get the Tuna Burger, or please, please try the lobster roll. I had Thatch Island and Watch Hill oysters and crab claws for starters. I appreciated the fact that my bartender taught me how to eat my claws… excellent and memorable, and now I shall always know how to eat them. Westbrook brew was on tap. I greatly enjoyed the ways that it paired with my Tuna Burger. It was a wheat beer and had undertones of coriander. A win in the alcohol department for me. This pace is small, but I love the atmosphere and décor here from the subway tile barscape to the nickle brushed chairs and tables. It has an intimate cool feeling to it. If you are in Charleston, this place is well worth the visit.

I honestly don’t think I have ever had a better meal in the state of South Carolina. Tuna burger. Just get it. You’ll spend the 3 minutes it takes you to devour it in pure heaven. Met one of the owners, Kyle. Super great guy, was happy to share where else to get good food and where the happening things in town were going down. This place is awesome. If you’re in Charleston, don’t miss it.

After hearing about 167RAW my wife and I decided to make a last-minute trip for a late night bite. They were super accommodating and we were seated at the bar right away. Larger groups are definitely hard to fit though. You get that Prohibition era alley bar feel. — Parking is near impossible — The inside is tiny — Staff is super friendly — Food is delivered fast — The lobster roll was underwhelming for the price — Mexican CocaCola Lobster roll($ 27) I wish the lobster was warm like the toasted bun when it came out, because the contrast in temperature kind of threw me off. The lobster was good, however it didn’t melt on my tongue like really good lobster would. I think the sandwich is more like a $ 19 sandwich not a $ 27 sandwich. You can get a pound of Maine lobster at the market for $ 14.85/lb. The ambience of the restaurant did help make up for the difference, but you should probably get a free beer mug with every lobster roll ;) My wife ordered the fish taco of the day($ 6) which was swordfish and a shrimp taco($ 6). The fish taco was amazing, and dare I say rivaled the lobster roll. It comes with two tortillas and guacamole smeared in between the tortillas which is genius. The shrimp taco was a little spicy and it came with four large pieces of shrimp. I am happy for the experience and gladly would return to 167RAW, however I may just stick to the fish tacos and oysters in the future. We just missed happy hour which was half off oysters :(

NEVER thought I’d write a five star review on a LOBSTERROLL but O M G! you guys have it all, and you do it well: oyster sampler, beer and wine, ahi poke all phenom. Being from Arizona, we consider ourselves tortilla chip aficionados. Your chips would rival the best back home. Dinner was equally awesome: tuna burger was excellent but shocked to say I would advise any visitor to stick with the lobster roll. It’s seriously all you need– heaven on an incredibly fresh, buttery toasty slice of bread. You’ve converted my husband and me. Prior to tonight we didn’t even like lobster rolls– or so we thought! That said, part of our fun was also meeting fm and talking to other guests and staff. So friendly, helpful and made the experience so fun. You draw good people! We will be back next time we are in Charleston!

Checked out 167 Raw on Valentine’s Day weekend. Got there on Saturday night around 8 pm and was told the wait would be about 45 min, which was pretty accurate. This place is small! Unfortunately I couldn’t eat the raw oysters since I’m preggers but my husband thoroughly enjoyed them. I believe they were about 2.75 each and they had a variety of oysters from Massachusetts, New Brunswick, even South Carolina, Washington, etc. The tuna burger is served rare and was very good(though he said didn’t quite top the ahi tuna burger at Hopdoddy in Austin, TX). I ordered the lobster roll which was $ 27(kinda pricey in my experience for lobster rolls). I was really looking forward to eating this lobster roll because they are one of my favorite things in the world to eat, but I had a little bit of difficulty finishing it. It was just so… rich? in terms of the buttery roll, the creamy lobster. I know that sounds ridiculous but I’m wondering if my pregnancy had something to do with it, so I’m not gonna subtract any stars from my review because of it. It definitely had a worthwhile amount of meat. I must comment on the New England Clam Chowder. Best NECC that I’ve ever had. Lastly, the key lime pie. We ordered the last slice of key lime pie of the night! At an awesome price of $ 4, this was also fulfilled a «best» in my book(though to be fair, I haven’t had a whole lot of key lime pies in my life, and I find the one at Publix to be super tasty). Also had great service sitting at the bar. Overall, I thought it was a great place to eat while on vacation in Charleston, though it was pretty pricey so wouldn’t be able to go here often(if I lived in Charleston). Definitely worth checking out if you love food.

How did i not yet reviewed 167 Raw. One of the best raw bars in Charleston. When you are tired of all the fried food and want some real New England food, this is your place to be. They have a boat in Nantucket that catches the fish daily and send part of it to their Nantucket store and partially to their ONLY restaurant in Charleston. Their trophy dish is absolutely the lobster roll. It gets pricey due to the market pricing but when you are in Charleston during the fall months, it can drop to $ 19 instead of $ 27 and up during the summer. My personal favourite here, is the the taco’s and especially when they have the seared tuna taco. Caught the same day it will end up your plate. The shrimp taco’s are my second favourite as they give you a bunch of seared shrimp with an amazing, i think, raspberry dressing. They use to also sell fish but they recently alter the concept a little as there was so little space to serve people. Now they have one big bar and two table that sits four. If you are planning a trip here during summertime, make sure to stretch at least half an hour before you’ll be able to sot down but it is definitely worth it.

My husband and I went for lunch because I was craving a good lobster roll and the reviews were right on! 167 Raw did not disappoint. We went a little after lunch and had about a 15 minute wait. The place is small, so I recommend going midday, so not to wait too long. I had the lobster roll($ 28), which was served on lightly toasted bread that was just what this masterpiece needed ! My husband had the shrimp po’boy and was served on the same bread. The seafood was so fresh and my lobster perfectly tender! Paired our lunch with a yummy Riesling! The servers were knowledgeable regarding wine and the menu. Perfect place for a lunch date!

Ambience, service and food are OUTSTANDING!!! Lobster Roll was so good… it’s unforgettable. It’s expensive for a small sandwich, but really worth every penny! We also tried fish taco, shrimp taco, a dozen of variety oysters and the white Thai beer. The place is small and cozy. We went there at a perfect time(around 6 pm on a Saturday) and we got to sit at the bar pretty quick. About 30 minutes later, the place was packed and a lot of customers are waiting outside. Everything was awesome. We will definitely go back and this place is highly recommended to all. A grand slam experience for me and my special someone!

Pack it up and go home folks — the Salmon Burger is world class and cannot be beat. Everything about this place screams five stars at you. I managed to squeak in by myself at 11:30 for lunch on a Monday. Soon after it was at least a 30m wait for 2 — this place is SMALL. I would never recommend coming here with a group bigger than 3. Very simple, quality décor. Laid out well. All the place settings are high quality metal or Le Creuset. No reservations. Sat down, friendly staff took my order and I sipped on a quality local IPA and annihilated a giant shrimp cocktail. I was torn between the po-boy and the salmon burger and when I asked all 3 waiters within earshot all said«burger» in unison. Guess that’s that. Holy crap guys. This is one of the best things I have ever eaten. I am not kidding. They grind up fresh salmon and then give it a quick sear on each side– not unlike an ahi steak. The middle is very raw, that’s my jam. It was just unreal in how well every ingredient of the burger came together. I would gladly pay some serious bucks to eat it right now and i’m not even hungry. Finished it all off with a generous and very strong slice of Key Lime pie. it actually tasted like key lime — something I find rare these days. The people next to me were all friendly and I was sitting there wishing my stomach was twice as large so I could try the Ahi Poke and Ceviche. All in all it was fantastic and I will come back here if I am ever in Charleston again.

If I could give six stars I would. I told this to co-owner, Sam, before my girlfriend and I parted ways from 167 Raw; the #1 rated restaurant in Charleston on Unilocal. And for good reason, I must add. The tight space pops with chalkboard-written menu items and a beautifully laid out bar top. This hideaway expresses a Northeast up-tempo vibe, but with Southern hospitality. The Lobster Roll, plain and simple, was the best I’ve ever had. The generous chunks of fresh lobster meat were tender as humanly possible. The roll, soft, yet crisp on the inside, was buttered to sheer perfection. Salty and crunchy chips accompanied the Roll, as well as house-made pickles, which were tart, soaked with vinegar, and utterly phenomenal. A meal like this doesn’t come around too often. The kitchen(which is smaller in size than your bathroom) expertly crafts seafood dishes to the point where refinery has been already attained. It’s safe to say my taste buds were overwhelmed with succulence. Sam and Co. I appreciate your warmness, your charisma, and your outstanding restaurant. Genuinely, I look forward to watching your business thrive for generations to come. You’ve set the bar so high, my only wish is that it’s plausible for you guys to outdo yourselves. Accept the challenge, and trust me, your #1 status will stay exactly where it’s supposed to be.

Solid. No wonder they’ve got 5 stars all around with 400+ reviews. The place is tiny, less than 700 sq ft for sure. It’s tight quarters no matter where you sit. We couldn’t make it too long so we skipped dessert. Everything is white, silver and blue — right on with the nautical theme in the best of ways. Lots of le creuset dishware and steel pie pans used as service pieces — no cheesy newspaper print parchment here. I love that the menu is all seafood and one pork taco and they’re succeeding without a damn Caesar salad and grilled cheese on the menu. Love, love, love that. We sat at the bar by the kitchen watching food come up to go out to tables. Next time, I want to sit at the bar to see oysters be prepared. We saw a couple trays of ice go over to the bar ready to be filled. And let me tell you, they’ve got that good ice. Anyone who knows about crushed ice knows what I’m talking about! It’s times like these I miss drinking coke. I had the carnitas taco — I could’ve eaten 3 of these and been happy. It’s on what I can only compare to a mini quesadilla — two corn tortillas with mozzarella curds melted and pressed together. Inside is soft, delicious, spicy pork. There were other things involved and it was so good, I can’t even remember. I also had the ahi poke with chips. I wish the poke was cut smaller but with the large cuts you can tell they’re not skimping on quality here. Fiancé had the fish sandwich of the day — flounder with mayo, lettuce and a smear of guac. We got a side of guac too because we are gluttons. Beware: they add tomato to their guac. Overall, I can’t wait to come back and thank god for off-season and no wait to be seated!

Yes, the lobster roll is the best I’ve ever had. The tacos… phenomenal. Anything from the raw bar or maybe some crab claws… It’s all amazing! From the fresh made chips alongside the ceviche or poke, to the double tortilla shells filled with cheese or guacamole for tacos, the attention to detail takes the fare to legendary status. You truly can’t go wrong with any of the food here. The thing is, I love this place for more than just the food. Having grown up in Boston, 167 Raw is a piece of home to me in many ways. A northern style raw-bar and seafood at its best. The white tiles feels like MA, the food tastes like MA, and most of the people are even from MA(They’re not just importing seafood here folks)! As much as I love local mollusks, there’s something nostalgic about sucking down an oyster plucked from New England waters getting to taste a glimpse of the ocean I grew up swimming in most of my life. Come in for a late lunch when it slows down a bit. Grab one of the few seats overlooking the kitchen and enjoy a meal. The best part is chatting up the cooks about places back home or where the catch-of-the-day came from. You experience them creating your dish directly in front of you while watching them create seafood masterpieces for everyone else there. The worst part is that you’ll have food envy of every plate that passes by, but you can always order more.
