Toppers Pizza

No stars if I could. I’m at one of the largest hotels in the delivery area and they wouldn’t deliver because they don’t where it is. What a fail.

This is a chain restaurant with pizza that’s not great. Go down the street to IP3 (Italian Pizzeria III) instead

Their pizza is very good! A lot of variety and very diverse toppings. I love the dipping sauces. The garlic parmesan wings are to die for. Much better than the nationwide chains. If you have a coupon you can get a great deal. Without a coupon it can be pricy. I’ve only picked up my pizza to avoid the delivery charges.

Always get for delivery and is always fast! This is why I never do papa johns anymore. Right amount of toppings for me and love there personal pizzas!

I’m very picky when it comes to my pizza. I grew up in New York, surrounded by the best pizza. With that being said, it’s clearly hard for me to order and thoroughly enjoy pizza here in NC. I ordered Toppers for the first time today and can truly say it is the best pizza I’ve had since I moved to NC 3 years ago.

Stopped in while walking around Chapel Hill. Really friendly staff, good pizza, and I really liked the set up inside with a couple of tables and a couch to relax in. It was also very clean. I didn’t expect much but I was pleasantly surprised!

I will start by saying I’ve only ever had food from here by delivery. They are known for their sauces and I have tried quite a few over the several times I’ve ordered. I am a huge fan of the garlic sauce and garlic parm sauce. The zesty ranch tastes pretty processed – im not a fan. I also don’t love their nacho cheese sauce-it’s not spicy, and I’ve had it twice, both times it was like it had been in the fridge. I tried to heat it up once, but I pretty much just melted the container. (carcinogen exposure!!!) The frosting sauces are great.
As for the food: I’ve had wings, stix, and pizza. My favorite is the loaded tot-​zza. The wings are nice and tender, though I feel like they’re a little under-​sauced. The stix are great – if they did a loaded tot stix, that would be my permanent order.
Still want to try: taco topper, mac ‘n’ cheese, and the chocolate bacon stix.

Love Toppers! Best pizza we have had in Chapel Hill yet. We got a buffalo chicken pizza and it was amazing! Huge pizza at a reasonable price. The second time we got a mac and cheese pizza and cheese sticks. The sticks were great but the pizza wasn’t doing it for us so we ended up tossing it. We will definitly return to try more of their creations though.

Really friendly, helpful staff. Tasty food. Open late which is convenient and impressive considering how late night food is not normally quality like this.

Things that make Toppers Pizza absolutely great:
1. Wide variety of pizza topping options and dipping sauces that somehow make heavenly combinations
2. Late night delivery that’s quick and open until 3:30am!
3. Great service — I double ordered online and they fixed it for me on the phone and gave me a refund right away
4. Did I already praise their toppings and sauce combos?

After we got caught in the pouring rain while traveling, these guys delivered pizza in 20 minutes to our door to save the day. The pizza was decent.

I came here after getting a bit sloshy at crunkleton next door. I had some kind of meat-​everything pizza (pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and ham) as well as some plain cheesy sticks. It all tasted A-​freaking amaaaazing. Love the thick, soft doughy crust they use. I kind of wish I didn’t discover this place because I was literally 5 pounds heavier the next morning despite being crazy dehydrated. had to sit around my house all day with the top button of my jeans undone. But you know what? I had zero hangover, which was pretty much a miracle, so you know the pizza here did it’s job. 5 stars!

The pizza here is something I would expect to have at home with leftovers from the fridge. Toppers pizza living on the edge approach with the crazy toppings they offer are great. Tater tots on a pizza? My on problem was the light and uncooked taste of the pizza dough. Otherwise the customer service and unique toppings are the stars of toppers pizza. Plus the kids enjoyed ever bit.

In a market saturated by pizza places, you really have to have something special to stand out. Toppers definitely has a few things going for them.
1. Dipping sauces — There are 16 choices, and I struggled to pick my allotted 4 with my order today from an enticing list. I personally went with parmesan garlic (hits you in the mouth how aggressively parmesan-​y it is), bacon honey mustard (exactly how it sounds, but even better!), chipotle ranch (slightly tangy but otherwise typical), and marinara (your classic, nothing too special). They also have garlic butter, barbecue, buffalo, sweet chili, nacho cheese, and even chocolate frosting, among others. All the sauces I had were solid to delicious, and I’m excited to try even more next time. Definite highlight.
2. Toppings — Tater tots, pulled pork, fried onions, buffalo chicken, garlic roasted tomatoes, and even noodles? You can also add other cheeses including pepperjack, cheddar and feta. Not only are the toppings interesting, but they taste of good quality and are incredibly generously topped. I had a piece of pizza with about 5 slices of grilled chicken on it and that was just one of my 5 toppings. The pulled pork was a little dry/​shriveled, but that’s my only real complaint. Their thick cut pepperoni and garlic roasted tomatoes were two of my favorites so far but just like the sauces, I’ve got a ways to go to get through the whole menu.
3. Cheesy sticks. Okay so a lot of pizza places have these, but they really highlight them here. You can also get them with diced pepperoni, bacon, chocolate, and more. I went with the traditional cheese and it was a perfect vehicle for all the dipping sauces.
Briefly, other highlights: They have coupons online and in the mail that make for pretty solid deals. Their running special is a a large pizza, any way you want it, plus a triple order of cheese bread for $ 20.99. You can do all your ordering online and specify a time to pick it up. I ordered 4 hours in advance and they had my pizza ready as I stopped in 5 minutes before my specified time. Online they even allow you to specify toppings for each half of the pizza, so rather than buy 2 separate pizzas, you and a friend can split a large in two. The location is next to the Jimmy Johns on Franklin, just by the small parking lot next to Vespa, making for a convenient spot to pick up. All in all, I think I may have found my new go-​to for pizza delivery.

Pretty much a good place for pizza craving besides IP3.

Weird topping combinations but trust me — they work so well together.

During the snow storm, when so many businesses were closed, you, Toppers Pizza, remained open. Even when Jimmy John’s – your storefront neighbor on Franklin Street – couldn’t handle the weather, you, Topper’s Pizza, remained open. Your dude at the cash register was cheery and impish with his intoxicated customers, casually upselling away with toppings, dippin sauces, and sides. Granted, it took 20 minutes for that za to bake, but it was fresh, and it was the only damn place open for late night eats during the winter hellstorm of February 2014 – the second one.
The pizza ain’t bad here, especially if you get the extra cheese. You can get weird toppings on the za as well like tater tots, but those kind of toppings don’t actually do much for a pizza in terms of flavor. They are, however, good for plucking off the za and dipping in one of their dippin sauces, which include some sort of chocolate sauce. Chocolate sauce and pizza? Go for it. The crust on the pizza is pretty darn great. I think we got the hand tossed, but there are other options. The weakest part of this pizza is the tomato sauce. It just tastes kinda cheap. I guess they have to save a dime somewhere. But I hate to end on a negative note. Great place for cheap, late-​night eats! Just don’t expect fast food. You will wait a hot minute.

A pizza with tater tots, ranch and bacon. Or how about tortilla chips, taco meat, mozzarella and sour cream?
Toppers Pizza is the first of its kind in Chapel Hill and it was an absolute treat. They have the average meat & veggies topped pizzas, but they also serve unique recipes like Loaded Tot-​zza and Taco Topper (as mentioned above). They also have mac&cheese pizza. MAC AND CHEESE PIZZA.
Another interesting, but totally odd choice was the chocolate baconstix. Basically, it’s cheesy pizza bread with bacon and chocolate syrup drizzled on top. Sounds weird, but completely worth the try. If you’re into the salty + sweet sensation, this is your carb indulgence.
I have to mention that the service was really great, in comparison to the pizza place that used to be in its place. So far, great start, Toppers Pizza! I will be coming back again soon… most likely for chocolate baconstix.
