Man I really loved this place. The chicken, Mac n cheese, mash potatoes and biscuits were great. The service was spectacular. I would definitely recommend it.

Yuck… I don’t usually eat fried chicken but have been craving it for weeks. Talked three other coworkers to join me for lunch. I ordered the 4 piece combo. Everything sucked, just sucked. The chicken itself was extremely greasy. I know it is fried but damn… As soon as I took a bite out of each of the the four pieces oil just poured out. I have had good fried chicken and this isn’t it. I was starving so I ate it all and was still hungry when done. The pieces were very small. The mashed potatoes and biscuit were good! The coleslaw was tasteless but edible. The iced tea was hardly drinkable(I think that is the first time iced tea had ever thoroughly disappointed me. It just tasted old or made with poor or foul water? All in all I would have gave this 2 stars… The reason for a single star was the aftermath. Every time I burped for almost two hours after it felt like I was going to barf. Then I finally spent some time sitting on the potty and felt better. Everyone of my coworkers had to also do the same. Not good. A horrible disappointment all the way around. The employees were friendly but the chicken was disgusting. If I wasn’t so hungry I would not have finished my food. Sorry but I am never giving this place a second chance.

Second time that we stopped at this place. The chicken was cooked to order, so it was crispy, flavorful and very hot. That first bite was so good, but we had to back down for several minutes for it to cool off. We had in our group order, the leg and thigh special for Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Cajun shrimp sandwich and chicken tenders. No complaints. The Cajun sandwich for $ 3.99 was small but packed with lots of shrimp as they were falling out of the sandwich. And have to mention, both employees we saw were very courteous. We will stop by again when looking for some hot fresh cooked chicken.

Not sure where the«Cajun» is, just plain deep fried breading w no seasoning. Took 20 minutes for a single to go order, and they put zero sauce for 10 wings. Had to go back and he said, want the sauce? when we walked in. No apology — nice. Then gave us ONE1-inch cup of sauce the wing didnt even fit in and it was half full. Greeeat.

Its a small location its not the best for big groups its more of on the go location. The chicken was fresh and tasty but I wasn’t a fan of the rice it was way to salty for my liking but other than that staff was friendly and quick service.

Best fried chicken in the SCV. Quality chicken cooked fresh. Call ahead if you don’t want to wait. They don’t have old chicken sitting under heat lamps, thank goodness. The prices are amazing. You got a picnic or concert in the park? Come here. I really want this place to stay open because it is that good. They took over the Popeyes spot but it is not Popeyes. Our kids live the other options too. Fish, shrimp, chicken fingers etc.

Kids wanted to have some nuggets while stopping at a nearby gas station. I walked in to this restaurant and was nicely greeted by the owners The food quality is great and the freshness and taste were immaculate. I recommend this place and definitely will go back.

One of the best fried chicken iv had in a long time! We ordered the family 12pc meal. It came with a good variety of pieces. It was fresh and juicy. Wish I lived closer to it.

They have some of the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. The first time I came to the establishment it was bad customer service, the second time I decided to give them another chance the cashier had horrible customer service this is all from the same cashier. I asked for some hot sauce to go with my chicken they ran out of hot sauce and ask for another sauce they ran out. So he charge me $.25 for a little red rooster hot sauce which I do not mind paying for but his attitude about it was horrible. I will never go to this establishment again and I don’t think you will have to worry about it too much longer either because they will not last with this customer service. This is the first bad review I ever had to make.

The chicken isn’t even fried or «crispy». It tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. The chicken also tastes like rubber. I wish Popeyes was back.

If you like chicken this is definitely a place you have to go to the chicken is so fresh and crispy. And the best part is that their chicken isn’t all greasy like other chicken restaurants. They are a must if you’re in the area.

It’s simple, it’s fresh, it’s cheap — and if you’re a devout follower of Islam, it’s halal! Love this place, and will continue to return regularly!

I’ve been here a few times. You can’t beat tasty 2pc chicken for $ 1.29! Normally, it’s quite fast and exactly what I wanted for lunch. Today, I went in about 1:15p and ordered the 2pc. Got back to the office(15mins drive), it was 3pcs… you’d think«AWESOME! EXTRAPIECEFORPRICEOF2! LOVETHISPLACE!!» Alas, it was 3 random pieces, probably half a thigh piece each, mostly skin/batter and hardly any meat. To top that off, they seemed like they’ve been sitting under the lamp a while. I was quite disappointed and annoyed. I tried calling for the past 45mins but have gotten nothing but the busy signal. To me, this is absolutely unacceptable. I give 2 stars because usually, it’s fresh, delicious and perfect. I’ll probably not go back for a while because I don’t eat it that often and am trying to eat a lot better. Just really disappointing, especially, being unable to call them to let them know my disdain. So, I Unilocal instead…

This restaurant took over at a Popeye’s Chicken location. Similar food and better prices. Worth a try if you like spicy chicken.

Service extremely slow. One cook and one counter person. This place takes forever to get your food. The chicken was fair nothing above ordinary. The sides of Mac and cheese was bland. The coleslaw was full of liquid. For twelve piece meal, six biscuits and two sides $ 25. Will not be returning.

It used to be a Popeyes but it’s much better. Seems to be independently owned. Very good dirty rice jambalaya and chicken. Hot, moist and Fresh. For counter service Cajun food it’s fantastic! Hopefully they experiments a bit more with its own recipes even more.

Went here to order take out. I was the only person in the whole restaurant so you would think it would be pretty fast. It cost $ 30 for the 12 piece chicken meal with 2 sides and bisquits. Expensive but most chicken spots are. So I order, I’m waiting, 15 minutes go by and the guy comes out and wispers to me(very creepily I might add) that the gravy for the potatoes is frozen solid… In those exact words. I said it was fine I didn’t need gravy cuz at this point my 2 year old was starting to run out the door. 5 minutes later they tell me it’s going to be 4 more minutes because they were making me fresh bisquits. Finally get home to my starving family. Mac and cheese… Barf… Potatoes… Barf…bisquits… Gross, gross, gross… But the chicken… aaaaammmmaaaazzzing! Guess it was better for my diet to stay away from the carbs anyways.
